Kira Kurusu was on a train headed to Japan to live with her aunt, she had just been released from juvenile custody only to be thrust into an unfamiliar country to attend school on parole for a crime that she never committed.
Suddenly time around her seemed to slow to a crawl until it stopped all together, it was then she was hit with a very intense headache and nausea. "What is happening to me?" She groaned to herself clutching her head, finally she felt as if her brain and her consciousness were being forced out of her like water going down a drain leading to somewhere or rather someone else, shortly afterwards she lost consciousness.
When Kira awoke, she felt pins and needles over her entire body. As she regained feeling to her body, she realized that she now had a pair of slightly rounded black glasses sitting on the bridge of her nose. Even stranger was the fact that when she took them off, her vision blurred. "What the hell?" She whispered to herself only to discover that she sounded masculine as opposed to feminine.
She then felt an itch on the back of her neck so she went to scratch it and stopped when she realized that she had short black messy hair instead of her usual straight black long hair. (Okay, I must be hallucinating) She thought to herself before pinching her arm and confirming that she was not in fact delusional.
Finally, she gulped before looking down at her chest only to find that she had no breasts. She then decided to look around only to see that she was on almost the exact same train aside from the people who were there, they were not the same genders that they were before, In fact they had somehow switched genders.
Finally, after having to take out 'his' phone to further confirm her suspicions. She started to look through his phone contacts, which under normal circumstances would be considered rude but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Scrolling through 'his' contacts she was able to discover that the body she was piloting was a young male around her age named Ren Amamiya. It also seemed as if the same thing that happened to her also happened to him, and he was going to be living with his uncle Sojiro Sakura… In the exact same house that her aunt lived in, with the exact same last name as her.
(If I had to drink every time there was a coincidence, I'd be passed out drunk.) She laughed to herself before hearing the announcer say "Shibuya" She quickly exited the train and started the journey to her new residence.
When she got to the crosswalk, she was very shocked to see thousands of commuters across the famous intersection. She then took out Ren's phone to take a picture of the pedestrians, the phone dinged and an ominous phone app with a black, white, blue and red eye symbol on it.
Unsure of its origin she promptly deleted it since she suspected that it might have been malware. Soon afterwards time seemed to stop yet again, which caused Kira to panic due to her experience with it earlier.
After stumbling in a full circle, she saw white and blue inferno of flames in the distance that slowly started to form a tall feminine figure with a pair of wings, a helmet with feathers poking out of both sides and a halo above it and until out of nowhere she was facing a doppelgänger version of herself with yellow eyes and a creepy smile.
Then as abruptly as the strange occurrence occurred, it stopped and everything returned to normal. (I must be on one hell of an acid trip!) she thought to herself before continuing to look for the train headed to Yongen-Jaya.
Upon climbing the stairs to the backstreets of Yongen-Jaya, Kira followed the instructions that Ren's mother gave her. She ended up in front of an old looking building with a nameplate that read "Sojiro Sakura" on it. (This must be his house, I should probably ring the doorbell) she thought to herself before pressing the button.
After waiting for a few minutes with no answer, she was about to ring it again when a delivery man spoke up. "Looks like no one's home..." He said to nobody in particular. She turned towards the man who was holding a big box. "Oh yeah… Sakura-san's usually at his café around this time." He continued to talk out loud.
She was about to ask where the café was but was interrupted by him saying "Well, Leblanc's in the back alley, so I should probably make my other deliveries first…" Having acquired the knowledge of his whereabouts she decided to look around a little more.
It wasn't long until she was able to locate said café. She decided to try and consider how Ren would react but then she realized that it would probably be best to be herself. (Okay, here it goes) she thought to herself before opening the door and entering.
As soon as she came in she heard the TV saying something about a transit bus accident, and an old couple having a conversation about it. Looking around it seemed to be quite charming and quaint. Until her eyes landed on a man wearing a pink long sleeved shirt with cuffs, a black apron and a pair of tan pants. On his face he had wired glasses, slicked back black hair and a goatee.
Then he seemed to look up at Kira and he said "…Oh, right. They did say that was today." Just then the couple decided to leave after a brief discussion with the manager about the accidents. It was then that Kira decided to move out of the way for the couple to leave.
"So, you're Ren?" He asked her, to which she responded by bowing and saying "Please take care of me." He laughed and answered "No need to be so formal, I'm Sojiro Sakura. You'll be in my custody over the next year."
He said before looking her up and down. "I was wondering what kind of unruly kid would show up, but you're the one, huh? Have you been told? A customer of mine and your parents know each other and…Well, not that that matters…Follow me." She nodded before following Sojiro upstairs to the attic.
Upon entering the attic she was greeted with layers upon layers of dust, a ladder lying on the floor, a few trash bags, some empty plastic gas canisters and plenty of cardboard boxes.
"This is your room. I'll at least give you sheets for your bed." He said before turning to her and continuing. "You look like you wanna say something." To which Kira replied "It's Cluttered."
Sojiro nodded and answered. "It's up to you to clean up the rest. I'll be leaving after I lock up each day. You'll be alone at night but don't do anything stupid. I'll throw you out if you cause any trouble." Kira nodded before Sojiro went over the situation that caused Ren and her to be in this scenario.
One thing that was apparent in Ren's scenario is that a Man forcing a Woman into a car was the cause of him getting sued, where in her case it was a Woman forcing a Man into a car, everything else though seemed to be identical.
After he was done explaining what Kira already knew, Sojiro added "We'll be going to Shujin tomorrow" to which Kira tilted her head and asked "Shujin?" Sojiro nodded and responded "Shujin Academy-the school that you'll be attending. We'll introduce ourselves properly to the staff there. There's rarely a place that'll accept someone like you, you know."
Sojiro sighed before finishing off with "What a waste of my Sunday…" he then paused before motioning to a large cardboard box in the middle of the room. "Your "luggage" arrived here a little while ago. I brought it up here for you." He told her before going back downstairs.
After Sojiro left, she promptly opened the cardboard box to be greeted with casual clothes, which she immediately decided to change into instead of continuing to wear the Shujin school uniform as it would probably get dirty when she started cleaning her room.
After a copious amount of cleaning her new living space she had decided that she had made a fair amount of progress for the time being, besides it had gotten quite late. No sooner had she decided to stop cleaning, Sojiro decided to come upstairs.
"What the heck? I heard you making all sorts of noise up here but I didn't think you were cleaning." He said to her before looking around the room. "Actually, the place doesn't look too bad." He said, causing her to blush before continuing to speak. "Though it's only natural you'd want to keep your room tidy."
"Why don't you go to bed for tonight? You don't have anything better to be doing, right? Anyways, I'm going to close up shop and get out of here myself." He then said something about how he wouldn't be looking after her if she stayed up too late, before he left.
Kira promptly got changed into Ren's sleep clothes. She then decided to reminisce about what caused her a stain on her criminal record, she ultimately decided that she had done the right thing, then she wondered what was happening with her body and if Ren was in control of it, and if she would eventually get back.
It was then that she realized that she should probably write something to him for when and if he returned, so she opened up the notes app and left a lengthy message for him and hoped to god that he would find it.
Dear, Ren Amamiya
You might be wondering who I am and how I know your name. Well, my name is Kira Kurusu and somehow I think you and I swapped bodies, I'm not exactly sure how or even why it happened but it did. Since you weren't here I'll catch you up to speed, I arrived in Tokyo today, a strange app showed up on your phone, I'm pretty sure I encountered some sort of angel wearing a helmet with feathers poking out, a halo and a feathered wing on it's left side, and now you are living in the attic of a Café called Leblanc run by your Uncle Sojiro. Tomorrow I am supposed to go to your new school with Sojiro to meet with the faculty there. I forgot to mention that we seem to be going through eerily similar circumstances, and if you are where I suspect you'll be you'll see what I mean, and if not just write back to me and I'll explain. Finally I hope that this message finds you.
From: Kira Kurusu
One she was satisfied with the results, she decided it would be a good idea to set an alarm for him in order to make sure that he finds the note on his phone, however before she could open the alarm on the phone she noticed that that strange looking eye app that she had deleted earlier was back on the phone. (I could have sworn I deleted it earlier… Oh well, I'll get rid of it again) She thought to herself before deleting the app again, setting the timer and drifting to sleep.
