From the author.

Hello! First-timer here looking for something (I don't know what). I work on my second language – English, and writing skills (or their lack ;)), so I appreciate all feedback.

Until 2020, I didn't know that Supernatural fandom, and destiel shippers / opponents exists, or that for example Castiel character should disappear sometime in season 5, but people loved Misha's portrait so much, writers decided to keep him. I didn't know that Jensen didn't see Dean as bi character, or that he think of Dean & Cass dynamic more like brothers in arm & best friends.

You can say that I had lived under a rock, but all in all, I am happy for that. I watch it without the drama and others opinion. Just absorbing and interpreting the show as I wanted to.

I love Supernatural and The Winchesters brothers, but Dean & Castiel relation have a special place in my heart. Watching the show, I had believed in romantic love between them. Acting choices, text, and subtext. For me, it was always there… But even perceiving it through deep connection, friendship, and one side love (Castiel confess) – I still find it beautiful.

Writers gave us 15 × 18 episode. I am impressed that Castiel confess his romantic love, but sadden that Dean doesn't feel it too (you know) on physical level. You could see love in his eyes, but not every love is the same. I wanted to see romantic love and two characters admitting deeper feelings, but you can't always get what you want. Fortunately, fanficion gave me what writers couldn't – love stories all the way! And now, I want to try it myself.

This fic will be focus on Castiel and Dean, together and separately. The story will contain threads from the TV show, but I will also present new adventures, situations, and conversations into them. It's slow build to romantic relations between Dean & Cass, and probably a darker take on Supernatural in general – so feel warned that M content is coming.

PS: All characters belong to Warner Bros, and Supernatural writers and producers. Their TV show inspires my work.

PS 2: I like to write Cas without addition "s".

PS 3: Chapters will be coming. This story will have many.

PS 4: No beta reader, all mistakes are mine.

Heaven

G: Go get Castiel, I have a task for him.

Sariel, known among the garrison and haven scribes as the angel of death, heard Gabriel but didn't intend to act. He wasn't convinced, that Castiel is up for the challenged. Especially this delicate and important for the human world. Of course, commander, but I don't think…

G: There is no BUT in my request. Get him straight from the battlefield – NOW. I won't ask you twice.

S: Of course. I will be back with Castiel, as you wish.

Waiting for the imbecile, and his favourite angel of the lord. Gabriel, start to wonder in to his mind to forsake the future of his father plans.

He had known for years that dear dad has a new project – The Winchesters family. However, he didn't suspect that the old man is as much crazy as his archangels brothers claimed he was. As always, proven wrong, he saw what's next in the grand scenario.

God can't forgive Lucifer, his brothers will fight again. Which means that Sam and Dean have a part to play. Castiel is an elementary part of their story, even if he will doubt it from the start. Now he needs to get that one angel rebooted too many times for his own good, and make a use of the newest updates. He loathed what Naomi did, but it is what it is. Angels are controlled to maintain order. At least that's Michael's ways off running business in haven. BUT – not his.

S: Commander, Castiel is here.

G: A Hundred points goes too, Mr. Obvious. Now Sariel, leave us alone.
S: As you wish.

Sariel looked at Castiel and give him the most hated look he could master in his true form. How is it possible that a low-level angel, barely the commander of one of Gabriel's garrisons, can be assigned to a top-secret mission in hell, but he himself, the angel of death, cannot?

Castiel did not look intimidated, not even for a second. He waited patiently for Sariel to leave. His patience has paid off. The Angel of Death left the room. At that moment, his being felt that all of Gabriel's attention was focused on him. That was a bad sign.

C: Hello Gabriel, it's good to see you. What was so important?

G: Oh Castiel, I missed your – straight to the point – kind of talking. It's good to see you, too, brother. I have a significant mission for you. God command it, so it's high priority. And TOP SECRET project. You see.

C: Oh? What's going on? Has Lucifer's angels struck again?

G: It's about humans, to be honest, for now – one human.

C: You've got to be kidding me. Gabriel, our brothers and sisters are dying right now, and you think I will abandon them for what? One human?

G: Let me stop you right there. Before you say – archangel was looking at Naomi office – something you will regret. As for the mission. This is important, you can even imagine, how much. You need to fly straight to hell and save Dean Winchester.

C: Save Dean Winchester? Who is he? And why we should care?

G: Oh may, Castiel – said Gabriel, laughing – never change! You are on my top list. Have you ever heard of gossip? I highly recommend tuning your ears, and you'll find out everything. To answer your questions – Yes. The righteous man. One of dads favourite. Sound familiar? Dean is the one that sold his soul for his beloved brother. And now, trapped in Hell, Allister tortures him. Did you hear about his technics?

Castiel understand the gesture, and decided to play along. Forgive me, brother, for the way I speak to you. I am trying to stay away from gossip, but – yes. I heard about the Winchesters. Unfortunately, Allister is well-known to me. He killed few of my soldiers. Nasty creature.

G: Yeah, Allister is just… Yeah – a shudder went through him. Anyway – orders are simple. Save Dean Winchester. And…

At that moment, looking in too Castiel form, Gabriel knew, that what he is about to say will change the course of daddy dearest plan, and probably his angel brother life. But well. The archangel wants to escape. He needs the right distraction to make it possible. God and all heaven must focus on the Apocalypse, or in this case, things that will go wrong for dad. And who knows, maybe Castiel will save those poor humans from his dads games. 50/50 that there will be no fight between Michael and Lucifer, and the world will be saved. It is worth a try, and in addition, he gave himself the opportunity to escape from heaven.

C: And what?

G: Impatient, are we? And… Keep an eye on him awaiting further orders. Are we clear?

Not knowing who was eavesdropping on their conversation, he began talking to Castiel through his mind.

I shouldn't tell you this, but I have a feeling you will do what is right. For now, just look like you're contemplating the right answer.

Stay with Dean and take care of him. If his soul breaks in Hell under Allister torture, the first of the 66 seals binding Lucifer's cage will be broken. The Apocalypse will come. Long story short, there will be a great battle and the earth will be shattered. Fun? Right? Also…

The archangel revealed all that he saw in his visions. All the cards regarding the Apocalypse and the role Dean plays in it. What he chose to hide was Sam's involvement. Besides the fact that he is Lucifer's vessel. He leaves the rest to fate.

Castiel struggle to comprehend what his hearing. He wasn't sure if Gabriel is working for God or against him. But Naomi is eavesdropping, and one thing is obvious for two sides. We are clear, Gabriel. I understand the mission. I need to recharge my grace, and I will fly to the pit.

G: Excellent. Our father and Michael will be pleased. You can go now.

C: Gabriel I…

G: I'm waiting

C: I need backup in the pit. At least 10 angels with me. I can go solo, there are too many demons. Strategically, this is a suicide mission.

G: Of course it is, and thanks to all creation you know that. Yes, I will give you 10 angels, but Castiel - remember this. This mission is yours, YOU need to survive, and Dean with you. No matter what. Understood?

C: Yes, commander. Thank you, commander.

G: Go now, pain in the ass, Sariel is coming. I'm afraid he will fly to hell with you.

Chuckling to himself, Castiel fly to his chambers. Uneasy but full of new hope, full of image of Dean Winchester and what fate will bring to him next.
