At Rook Tower, Rook was going over some files and data in his office, when he got a call from one of his secretary.
"Mr. Rook, the security team we sent to investigate the unusual power fluctuation in the warehouse district has returned and reported in." Said the secretary.
"Was it the Tech Men?" Asked Rook.
"It was, but the security team wasn't able to figure out what they were doing. The Tech Men escaped in a advanced aircraft, but the team did encounter something very unusual at the scene." Said the secretary.
"Define unusual." Said Rook.
"The security team sent some footage. Sending it to you now." Said the secretary.
Rook looked at the screen that showed him the battle at the warehouse. He watched with interest and surprise as Doc Ock and his fellow villains exited the warehouse and fled the scene and then Spider-Man came out and did battle with the Tech Men subduing them and leaving them for the security team to arrest.
"Very interesting." Said Rook as he studied the screen.
Rook was a smart man who took careful care in studying new things and people and how they might be useful to him in the future. The strange man with the mechanical arms was most likely a scientist of some kind, who could potentially be an ally or enemy along with his companions. The man in red and blue was an interesting case, he was either using some kind of tech to enhance himself or he was naturally athletic or had been exposed to something that had granted his abilities. Rook watched the man in red and blue takedown the Tech Men with ease and skill, while doing a bit of banter. The CEO couldn't help, but let out a little chuckle at seeing the Tech Men get beaten and webbed up.
Rook studied Spider-Man with interest as plans began to form in his mind. Spider-Man acted like a hero and there was a good opportunity to turn him into an ally and use him to fight the Flex Fighters and Blind Strike. Rook knew that heroes or people who wanted to be heroes could be easily be fooled and manipulated, especially by someone as charming and influential as Rook himself. Rook had once had the Flex Fighters on his side turning them into public heroes before he betrayed them and had used the same manipulative tactics to convince Officer Santos to be turned into the cyborg Mechanical to fight the Flex Fighters. Rook was highly confident that he could get this new hero to work with him and fight against the Flex Fighters.
"Tell our security teams and surveillance units to be on the lookout for the man that fought against the Tech Men. I want to meet him." Said Rook.
"Yes sir." Said the secretary.
Rook went back to work on his computer and pulled up a project that he'd been working on. A project that would help ruin what little good public opinion the people of Charter City had towards the Flex Fighters and would help convince the new hero in town to side with him and go against the Flex Fighters.
"This is a game I intend to win." Said Rook with a grin.
To be continued.
