Chapter 19
As they swung through the streets, away from the scene of the nightmare, Mike was still in shock.
"Spider-Man, I, that...That man was…" He stammered.
He heard Spider-Man sigh before replying. "I saw, Henry Creel, right?"
Mike bit his lip. "Yeah, I-I can't believe it. How could he do this, be like this, I…"
"I know he's a great and well-respected man, it's got me freaked out too." Spider-Man admitted.
Mike looked up, a little surprised at this.
Spider-Man continued. "Don't worry, I'll figure this out...just hold on and I'll get you down soon."
"Y-yeah...where are we going anyway?" Mike queried, worried.
"Not much longer now, just somewhere where you'll be safe enough and can contact anyone who'd be worried about you. I just...wouldn't be able to forgive myself if I left you at ground zero back there." Spider-Man explained.
That made enough sense to Mike so he relaxed, grimaced a little at the slight pain in his ankle. Finally they reached a quiet, rather clean, alleyway where they set down and Mike let out a slow breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding. He looked over at Spider-Man who seemed to be just as on edge as he was himself. He felt the heat building in his face as he had been saved by Spider-Man again and it felt, incredible, it made him realize even more just what he was feeling for the superhero once before.
Mike couldn't help but feel he had to say something.
"Well, I better get going, you'll be alright, remember you've got people to call." Spider-Man was saying.
He then began to swing away.
"Spider-Man, wait!"
Mike's shoulders slumped, he'd missed his chance, or so he thought. For at that moment Spider-Man dropped down and was now hanging upside down from a web-line.
"Yeah?"
Mike was startled by this but then bit his lip and smiled. His face was feeling very hot, he was sure he was blushing.
He couldn't help but burst out, before he lost his nerve. "Thanks for saving me Spider-Man! Uhm.. I know this might be a little weird but...would you mind if I erm...kissed you?"
He cringed inwardly, that had to be the most stupid thing he'd ever said, he had just completely blown it, he was sure.
To his surprise, Spider-Man was equally awkward. "O-oh, um, I...okay...Sure."
He started, not expecting that. But then, wanting to do this before he lost his nerve again. He reached up gently and pulled down part of the mask, enough to reveal his lower face. He was respectful enough to not do anything more, that was Spider-Man's secret and he had to respect that.
Praying that this wasn't terrible at all, Mike closed the gap between them and kissed him. At once there was an incredible rush of feelings for both of them, something that made them want to never let go, but they had to eventually and when they did they were smiling.
"Wow, that was…" Spider-Man gasped. "I promise, we'll, talk about this at some point but I...I need to get going. Take care of yourself, Mike."
With that he pulled himself up and swung away, fixing his mask while Mike pulled out his phone, still in a daze, both with their minds full of the kiss and the emotions now billowing inside them.

"So, it's ready then, excellent." Norman said with a smirk.
Stromm shook his head. "Sir, the tests prove my point, this is not safe, you cannot use this formula, it-"
Norman glared. "That's enough Stromm. I've had enough of your naysaying. This is complete and you...are you trying to turn against me, aren't you, you want this for yourself."
"What, no, Norman, I am not-!" Stromm insisted.
"No matter, it'll be safe for Harry." Norman explained firmly. "I'll make sure of it...I am the perfect test subject."
"What!?"
Stromm could only watch in horror as Norman took the formula and Stromm watched in horror as it finally began taking effect.

Still considering his options, knowing what was awaiting them before long, Brenner was considering his next move, what he could do to ensure that things would work out for Oscorp while also getting his revenge on those who had wronged him.
Entering the lab he began to speak. "So...Have we dealt with...that…"
He trailed off, eyes wide at what he saw before him. The lab looked trashed and Norman was lying, out cold, in the middle of the room, while lying there, at the other end of the room, having been thrown with great force, was the lifeless body of Stromm.
'Norman...took the formula. He, then this must've been…' Brenner's mind raced. 'Remarkable. So this is the power it has, I could…'
It seemed an opportunity had just landed in his lap, he just needed to wait for Norman to recover and then things could be put in motion, finally things would turn to their advantage, his advantage.
End of chapter and act 1, will be taking a break now so will be back to this later, hope you enjoyed it, read and review please.
