After the two calmed down a bit, Optimus Miracle suggested drawing the man she saw in her dreams. Because he knew it was easier to find a person in a picture. But when Miracle then sat in front of her drawing pad and picked up the pen, she sighed deeply.

"What's going on?" Optimus asked.

"What if you're right..." asked Miracle, "What if this man really is my father and he's looking for me? What should I do then?"

"Maybe it would be best if you were happy," Optimus said.

"But..."

"I know Miracle. I know. But life is much nicer for you people with a family."

Miracle turned to her partner who was sitting behind her on the sofa. She looked at him unhappily: "But you're my family." Miracle said.

Optimus sighed deeply, knowing what was going on inside her. She was afraid that she might not like her father or he might not like her. That he might leave her, because one thing Miracle could trust was that Optimus would never leave her. Your connection had set it up that way. Optimus would stay with her as long as Miracle lived. After all, Autobots live a lot longer than humans. Miracle knew her mate was many thousands of years old. But to Miracle he seemed more like a man in his mid-thirties.

Miracle finally got over himself and painted a portrait of the man. He had short brown hair. He had a lot of wrinkles on his face and it also seemed very lined for his age and the man had a sad expression on his face. Miracle wasn't sure if her vision was from the past. After all, if this man were her father, he would have to be at least twice her age. And in her dream, the man didn't look like it. Optimus passed the picture directly to the FBI, who immediately published the picture in the media. It was not said why the man was wanted to rule out possible scammers. Miracle was pretty nervous the whole time. She paced restlessly, didn't sleep well, couldn't concentrate and couldn't get anything done. Every time she saw the drawn picture somewhere on the news, she would jump nervously.

After two weeks it happened. The man in the picture was standing in front of the NEST neighborhood of Washington D.C.

Optimus just drove past the man in his vehicle mode into the hangar. The base was hermetically sealed, of course, so the man couldn't see or hear anything from the Autobots inside. Optimus drove into the base through the back entrance and once inside, he transformed. He immediately rushed to Miracle, who he found in her quarters. Here she was sitting over an illustration for The Times when Optimus walked in.

"Miracle, he's here," Optimus said.

Miracle winced, startled. She was so afraid of their first meeting. Optimus sensed this and said:"Would you like me to come and have your back?"

Miracle looked at Optimus with wide eyes: "No way! Do you want the poor man to have a heart attack the first time we meet?!"

Optimus took a step back and raised his hands. "It's okay, it's okay. I only meant well."

"I know." Miracle said with a smile.

She walked past her partner and left the quarters. The closer she got to the exit, the heavier her feet seemed to get. When she was finally in front of the entrance of the house, she already saw the man from her vision. He was older. His brown hair was gray and his wrinkles were a lot deeper than in her vision.

She nervously approached him and gave the approximately 60-year-old man her hand.

"Hello, nice to have you here," she said as kindly as she could. But just getting those words out was the hardest thing of all for her.

"What do you want from me?" the man asked.

Miracle scratched the back of her head nervously, "Well... That's a little hard to explain..."

Only now did she realize that she hadn't even thought about how to explain that to the man. He would hardly believe her story about the visions of the future.

"I am Miracle. I've been looking for you," she finally said.

"I'm Thomas O'Bryne. But I still don't understand what I'm supposed to do here," the man said.

She asked Thomas into the hangar to a room where they could talk to each other in peace. The Autobots had previously been instructed by Optimus to assume their vehicle forms so the poor elderly gentleman wouldn't get his shock to life. They sat down at a table in the empty conference room.

Miracle took a deep breath and asked, "Could you be looking for someone?"

"How do you know that?"

"It's not that important at first. Much more important is who you are looking for."

Thomas O'Bryne looked at the young woman in astonishment. Why did she want to know? He sighed deeply before confirming what Optimus had suspected: "I'm looking for my daughter."

Miracle took a startled breath. She clapped her hand over her mouth. She began to tremble involuntarily: "And why are you looking for her?"

"Because she was abducted from the hospital as an infant 21 years ago."

Miracle stared at the man in shock. That sounded obvious. Somehow she must have ended up in Central Park back then. She now decided to tell him her story: "Well, you know, I always thought I was an orphan. I was found by an elderly homeless woman in Central Park when I was a few days old. And I'm 21."

Thomas looked at Miracle dumbfounded. Could this really be? Suddenly he noticed the chain around Miracle's neck from which the emerald hung.

"My God!" said the man, stunned.

Miracle sensed the man staring at her pendant and said, "Do you recognize this stone?"

"And as I know him.I gave it to my wife as an engagement present. That was over 30 years ago. I have the other half.", the man said and pulled out a necklace with an emerald from under his shirt.

Miracle and Thomas each untied their chains from their necks and put the pendants together. They fit perfectly. Thomas put his hands on Miracle's cheeks to take a closer look. "You're as pretty as your mother," he said. Miracle had tears in her eyes because she was so happy. All her doubts were suddenly gone. She had found her father. And after such a long time. Miracle happily hugged the older gentleman who, in turn, couldn't hold back his tears. He had been looking for her for 21 years. And now he had found her. He didn't really care how mysteriously he had found his daughter again. He had her back, that was all that mattered. Father and daughter were interrupted in their reunion by a suspicious noise coming from Miracle Clock. Embarrassed, Miracle broke away from her father and looked at the clock, where the display had just switched off. Optimus had been secretly watching her. Miracle looked at the clock a bit annoyed.

"That's an interesting watch though," said Miracle's father.

Miracle cleared her throat in embarrassment and said, "Well, an old-fashioned thing..."

"And what are you doing here?"

Miracle was now really sweating. There was no way she could tell him about the Autobots. But she stuck to the truth as best she could. She told her father that they were at a military base. Here she was responsible for keeping the vehicles in good condition. She also worked for the Times on the side. She told her father about her drawings and that the drawing that had been published by him was also hers.

The father was of course very impressed and wanted to see more of his daughter's works. But she couldn't do that well, because she didn't want to scare her father to death on the first day by introducing her partner to him. After all, when she thought back, she almost had a heart attack herself standing in front of the 8 meter tall Prime.

"How is my mother?" Miracle finally asked.

"She never got over your disappearance. She died 5 years ago," said Thomas O'Bryne.

Miracle looked at the man who had sadly lowered his eyes.

"Can we... visit her? I mean... in the graveyard?" Miracle asked.

"We can do that. You know I haven't been there since the funeral. I swore to your mother that I wouldn't come back until I found you," he said.

"Well then... it's about time! We can go there tomorrow if you want." Miracle said kindly."

"But the graveyard is on the other side of town.I can't run that far at my age."

"No problem, we can go there. I hope you don't mind a truck."

"But on the contrary! When I was young I was a truck driver. Very much the father, huh? That you also drive a truck." Thomas said with a friendly slap on his daughter's shoulder.

"Oh you know, I think he's more likely to drive me," Miracle said, looking completely innocent. Now Miracle accommodated her father above their quarters, which had been empty for some time. As a result, Miracle first set about cleaning the quarters.

"But you don't have to do that," Thomas said to his daughter.

"Yes, I have to. At least you're supposed to sleep in a clean room tonight." Miracle said while clearing some spider webs.

"Say, am I wrong, or is the ceiling much higher than it usually is?"

Miracle was now starting to sweat again. And not because she was cleaning, but Miracle had to think of a reason quickly. Finally she said, "This building used to be a huge warehouse. Hence the high ceilings."

Miracle wiped the sweat from her brow when the quarters were clean. Her father had swallowed her excuse and now she looked at the clock.

"It's already after 9. Time to go to bed. We'll leave tomorrow morning after breakfast," Miracle said. She waved to her father and headed down the hall.
