It was a few nights after the attack on the Fat Lady. He put on his coat, and braced the late night cold. It was after midnight when he left the castle. He cannot be seen. He silently made his way through the hallways and stairs of the castle to the Entrance Hall. He, then, walks through the grounds towards the Forbidden Forest. Despite the cold, the skies were clear, and you could see the stars so clearly. He entered the forest and walked a few miles in, before…
"You finally came," came a raspy voice from behind him, "Moony."
Remus turned around, and there he was, a man he hasn't seen in twelve long years. A man he once considered his best friend, and then was convinced had betrayed him, until a few nights ago.
Remus raised his wand. "Stay back."
"Woah! Is that how you greet an old friend?" Sirius's smile was a little bit unhinged, whatever that place did to him.
"You're not my friend." Remus said.
"Then why are you here?"
Remus paused. "You saw him the other day," he said, "with me."
"I did."
"You saw his Slytherin sweater."
"Yes, priceless! James would've…" Sirius started to say, but Remus interrupted him.
"But you still tried to break into Gryffindor tower."
"Yes," Sirius said. "I'm not after the kid."
"Then what are you after?"
Sirius frowned. "I did not betray James and Lily, and you of all people should know that." Sirius said angrily, getting closer to Remus, unbothered by the wand directed straight to his chest. "I would never try to hurt Harry."
Remus took a step back, and raised his wand farther. "What are you after?"
Sirius simply put his hand in his pocket, pulled out a ripped article from the Daily Prophet, and gave it to Remus, who hesitantly took it, opened it, and read it.
"You're after Weasley?" Remus asked confused, "Why?"
Sirius shook his head. "The rat."
