Ianto stared gloomily across the Hub; shattered glass littered the floor, the windows of the boardroom having exploded outwards. That was going to be a nightmare to clear up. Glass fragments were notorious for getting everywhere; in the Hub's dim lighting they'd be hard to see. He foresaw a lot of glass cuts while they dealt with the mess, and then new windows would have to be fitted. He'd have to make sure the replacements were shatterproof.
Could have been worse though. The Hub itself was structurally intact for the most part, designed to withstand far worse than a few Rift quakes. Nevertheless, it was something of a miracle that the glass frontage of Jack's office was still intact.
Ianto's heart clenched painfully in his chest as he thought of Jack. Torchwood's leader should be up here right now, berating them for their stupidity, and ordering them around… Instead, he was down in the morgue, cold and still, after sacrificing his life to fix what the rest of them had screwed up. How could they have been so naive? They'd let themselves be manipulated into doing exactly what Bilis Manger wanted them to.
Sighing, Ianto went to start cleaning up.
