The doors to the bridge slid open, revealing the bridge of the USS Enterprise, or at least a reasonable facsimile.

"Why do you have a copy of the bridge if it's a stationary base?" Hank asked, smiling in fondness at the sight since if pressed the blue furred mutant would admit to being a Trekkie.

"Because it's a spaceship I'm using as a moonbase," Jack replied. "We're buried in the bottom of a crater on the moon. Kinda looks like a volcano and the high walls keep astronomers from seeing us. I plan on capping it eventually and putting in a huge park."

"Wise use of resources," Hank said as Jack sat in the captain's chair and the viewscreen lit up. It took several moments of typing before he managed to locate the cameras in all the menus and bring them up on screen.

"Cool," the Lisa's chorused, as it showed various outside views including the area around the 'volcano'.

"I need an AI," Jack said, "or at least a good virtual assistant."

"I'm surprised they don't have one already installed," Hank said. "Anytime I've been off planet the ship had at least a rudimentary AI programmed to respond to voice commands."

"It's Kree designed enhanced by Kymellian technology," Jack said with a shrug. "Friday is an AI... well he's actually a step or two spiritually above an AI, in ways I can't really explain, but anyway I can probably get him to make one when he gets back."

"How big is it?" Lisa asked, back to looking like her speedster twin but able to be distinguished by the white clothes she'd picked to blend in with the cuckoos.

"Haven't bothered translating their measurements, but huge," Jack replied. "It was a bulk hauler and in spaceship terms that means no real weapons or armor but a whole lot of space. At least a mile long, but probably several times that and with a huge engine."

Jack laughed at the sheer disbelief the three all but radiated.

"Do you know how bulk haulers are built?" he asked, before immediately saying, "Never mind, I'm going to assume you don't. You find a bunch of asteroids high in density, tear them apart and build a massive hull out of stone before using the metal to coat the exterior and interior. So since the hull is composed of some fancy stone reinforced by alien alloys, and not their top of the line stuff, since it only needs to withstand ten G's max, they can make it as big as they like at next to no cost. The real cost is the engine and crew quarters and since there is plenty of space and no real need for speed you can just use larger, more robust engines that are centuries out of date, so most of the cost is in the crew quarters, which they tend to go overboard on since they have plenty of power and space and it helps make up for what is considered a mostly boring job."

"Rather like a cargo ship writ large," Hank said. "I'm assuming the majority of the ship is simply empty space?"

"The Kree twins just had a light load of out of date power plants and other odds and ends," Jack replied, "so most of it is just empty space, not even pressurized since no one needed to enter it," Jack told him.

"I'm surprised you know so much about spaceship design," Hank said.

"Just a bit about Kymellian and Snark ships mostly," Jack said with a shrug. "Everything I know about this ship I learned from Ran-Dal. Once I found out how big the base they were making for me was I had to ask."

"Well, you'll likely never run out of closet space," Hank offered.

"Or space for anything else," Speedster Lisa added.

Shapeshifter Lisa grinned. "Now tell us a story!"

"Oh!" Speedster Lisa squealed. "And do voices!"

Jack couldn't help but laugh. "Alright I'll tell you my origin story...

Two hours and many funny voices later...

"And with Queen Maraud exiled and her son's body given over to the emperor, a Snark war was prevented... the end!" he finished.

"Wow," Speedster Lisa said, "I can see why you rescuing us wasn't a big deal to you."

"Yeah," Shapeshifter Lisa agreed.

"Oh no, it was a very big deal to me," Jack told them. "It was just me and Friday, no backup, and I couldn't afford to fail because then you guys would still be there."

"You could have come to us for help," Hank pointed out.

"I could have, but I didn't want them to spend one more second in that prison so I talked to Friday about it and he came up with the perfect plan to rescue them," Jack explained. "If Friday wasn't confident we could pull it off alone we would have come and grabbed the X-Men or Fantastic Four to help."

"At least you know your limitations," Hank complimented him.

"Actually," Jack said, "Friday knew my former limitations and planned for them, but since I now have my sisters' and brother's power and not my own they are completely different, so I don't know what they are."

"But don't you know what they are from your brother and sisters having them?" Speedster Lisa asked.

"Not completely," Jack said with a shrug, "Julie is the one who could use density to phase and so can Katie now, but I never could. When Julie was rockin' my favorite power she also came up with the air shield, just like I came up with the infinite mass punch when I had Alex's power. I've figured out how to teleport with Julie's accelerator ability, which is something she couldn't do, so... I can probably do a lot more than I know, since we seem to come up with new ways to use each power when we have them and that's ignoring the fact that I have three of them now."

"Thankfully our school is uniquely qualified to help you there," Hank said.

Jack nodded and his stomach rumbled. "Time for lunch," he said, "let's go see what ten forward has."

"Do you have food replicators?" Hank asked.

"With all the fast food Kitty bought for me programmed in, though a bit healthier as Friday modified them to remove a bunch of junk like preservatives," Jack replied.

"Yes, no more dandruff!" Shapeshifter Lisa cheered.

"Dandruff?" Hank asked as they left the bridge.

"The only thing we got to eat in prison was Lisa's dandruff," Shapeshifter Lisa replied.

"The Rose Petals," Speedster Lisa said firmly, pronouncing the capital letters. "They aren't my dandruff!"

The shapeshifter Lisa giggled in response.

Jack grinned. "I'll have to try them sometime."

The doors to ten forward slid open, revealing a duplicate of the room depicted on the show.

"Replicators are mounted in the wall, they have a touch screen so you can just tap a picture for what you want," Jack said. "Friday made them for me since Kree don't have the same tech base as the Kymellians."

"I don't believe the Shiar have matter replicators," Hank noted as he replicated himself a large soda and half a dozen chiliburgers. "I'd think the energy costs would be prohibitive for casual use."

Jack and the girls all picked several items, being growing teens and joined him at a large circular table.

"It's really only cost effective on organic compounds," Jack told him, "otherwise we could have replicated a load of gold rather than mined it."

"Why do the windows show outer space rather than the ground?" Speedster Lisa asked curiously.

"All the windows are actually just viewscreens," Jack said, "so I have it set for space."

"It does set the mood," Hank agreed with a smile.

"We are on a spaceship, bigger than a town, underground, on the moon," Speedster Lisa said with a grin before downing a piece of pizza.

"Can you teleport anywhere on Earth?" Shapeshifter Lisa asked eagerly.

"Pretty much," Jack agreed.

"Quantum entangled communicator to call for teleportation so it can't be blocked?" Hank guessed before he devoured a burger in two bites.

"They're built into our costumes so we're never out of contact," Jack agreed. "Which reminds me, I'll need to alter my costume since I no longer have density control."

"But you weren't wearing your costume when you teleported us," Speedster Lisa pointed out.

"It's stored in a sub dimension and can still respond to my voice or I wouldn't be able to call it up as needed," Jack said. "Costume on," he ordered, causing a swirl of dimensional energy resembling black lightning to encircle his body, switching out the simple Kymellian jumpsuit with the blue and black costume he wore as Mass Master.

"Cool," Speedster Lisa said before noting, "Boots look the same."

"Different pair, same design," Jack replied, "another reason to go shopping."

"Shiny silver moon boots," Hank said with a grin. "Those and the shoulderpads in your jumpsuit make quite the statement, however considering what a number of us wear they hardly stand out."

"Yeah, but they really stand out on the street," he complained.

"I'm sure we can have something delivered that will allow you to blend in with the general population before you go shopping," Hank assured him.

"They look loads better than what the guards wore," Shapeshifter Lisa offered.

"Yeah, they're so shiny!" Speedster Lisa exclaimed.

"Also nearly indestructible and have great traction," Jack admitted. "That's probably the reason we've never complained."

"Plus moon boots are rather appropriate," Hank offered, waving at where they were, making the teens laugh.

"Tattletale to Mass Master, Tattletale to Mass Master," a voice came from Jack's collar.

"Mass Master here," Jack replied instantly. "Is there an emergency?"

"No," Franklin Richards replied, "I just wanted to check in with you and see how the breakup of Power Pack affected things. I mean, I know it's hard on you guys, but... what should I do when I get a premonition?"

"Just report it to me rather than Alex," Jack replied.

"Can we still patrol?" Franklin asked hopefully.

"That is... going to take some planning," Jack admitted. "With only two of us it's going to be more dangerous, so you'll have to check with your parents. See if your dad can slap together a shield belt or something for you, maybe with a stealth field."

"Katie won't be there?" Franklin asked softly.

"Fraid not," Jack said. "Our parents decided she should live a normal life for a while."

"In New York?!" Franklin asked in disbelief.

"I know," Jack said with a laugh. "You'll still see Katie in school and you two can visit each other, our parents just want us to not go around saving lives."

"Are you sure someone hasn't messed with their heads?" Franklin asked.

Jack sighed. "I had Professor Xavier check them out, they haven't been messed with, they're just morons."

"Ouch," Franklin said.

"Okay, they are only morons on this one subject, but it still stands," Jack said.

"Where are we going to meet up, since we won't be going to your place?" Franklin asked.

"My parent's place," Jack corrected him, "and I have a moonbase now, just tap your collar and say 'one to port up' when you want to visit and it'll teleport you up here. Make sure your parents know in advance, so they don't think you've been kidnapped."

"They'll probably want to visit to make sure it's safe," Franklin pointed out.

"Your parents are welcome to visit," Jack replied.

"I'll check with them now, Tattletale out," Franklin said.

"You'd think a moonbase would rate at least a little surprise," Hank said.

"His father's Reed Richards," Jack said between bites of burger, "if he asked him to build him a treehouse it'd probably include a time travel device and a portal to the negative zone."

"As well as an anti-gravity chamber and laser defenses," Hank agreed with a grin. "I'm surprised your siblings didn't attempt to contact you through your suit's communicator when they were searching for you."

"Friday muted it, I was upset enough without talking to them," Jack replied.

"What's patrolling like?" Shapeshifter Lisa asked curiously.

"Mostly boring," Jack said, "with occasional moments of excitement, explosions, and old men who will do anything to avoid retirement."

"Avoid retirement?" Hank repeated curiously.

Jack grinned. "Let me tell you about the time The Vulture regained his youth and Spiderman got turned into a kid."

"With voices!" the girls chorused.

"With voices," Jack agreed.

Half an hour later…

"And Spidey regained his full age wearing a costume sized for a ten year old," Jack finished.

Hank laughed harder than the girls. "He's never told me that story. I'll have to tease him the next time we run into each other."

The doors to ten forward slid open and Franklin entered in costume with his parents and younger/older sister Valerie who looked to be in mid teens at the moment to Franklin's twelve.

"This is very nice," Reed complimented him, looking up from the handheld scanning device he was using, "reminds me of my first clubhouse, though mine was based on the Original Series and not the Next Generation."

"I like the ascetics," Jack said. "Replicators are on the wall if you want anything."

"Um..." Reed looked at the four of them and then back down at his scanner.

"Yes, we know Lisa is a Super Skrull," Hank said, quickly figuring out what would concern Reed.

"I rescued her from a mutant concentration camp in Canada while I was rescuing a couple of Snarks they'd found," Jack offered.

"I think it was mainly an alien concentration camp," Speedster Lisa offered, "I was there because I could produce food any species could eat."

"You've been quite busy for someone who only recently ran away from home," Susan noted as they joined them at the table, Valerie stopping by the replicator to order a bunch of drinks like she'd been doing it her whole life.

"I prefer to think of it as escaping being crippled," Jack said bluntly, "and it ceased being home when they attacked me."

"I really wish I could argue against your point of view," Reed said with a sigh, "but having talked to your parents they seem to be in agreement with you and are very remorseful of their actions."

Jack groaned and buried his face in his hands. "Does my entire family have to be filled with reasonable people who acknowledge their mistakes the moment they sit down and think about things?!"

"Isn't that a good thing?" Franklin asked with a frown.

"Not when he is still completely furious with them," Valerie explained.

Jack sighed. "It's still going to be a couple of months before I can stand to be in the same room with them, but... I'm no longer as angry as I was."

"That is completely understandable," Reed told him, "logic doesn't overcome strong emotional responses all at once, it takes time for the brain to adapt."

"They wanted me to let you know that they'll sign emancipation paperwork, if that's what you want," Susan told him.

"I appreciate that," Jack said, "and I'm pretty sure Xavier's has a bit of experience filing it."

"We do," Hank agreed. "Professor Xavier had Kitty prepare them for you before he left."

"That will make things easier," Jack said.

"What are your plans?" Valerie asked.

"Let's see... I've gotten my G.E.D. enrolled in Xavier's, got my moonbase set up, and made myself rich... I just plan on patrolling and studying for the moment. When Friday gets back I'll see about having him prepare an AI for the base and possibly go over the records of Maraud's past battles to see if we need to rescue more abandoned Snarks, but that's all for now."

"I can take care of the AI," Reed offered, "it'd take me a half hour at most considering the level of technology you are using."

"Thank you, I'd appreciate it," Jack said.

"Introductions," Valerie suggested.

"My bad," Jack said. "Lisa on my left is a Super Skrull and Logan's daughter, Lisa on my right is a speedster and her twin sister."

"They don't have any DNA in common," Reed pointed out.

"They adopted one another," Jack said. "Girls, this is the Richards family, Reed, Sue, Franklin, and Valerie."

"It's very nice to meet you," the Lisas chorused.

"You've practiced that," Valerie said with a grin.

"Who, us?" they chorused before breaking down in giggles.

"It's strange to not see Power Pack together," Susan said wistfully, "there aren't many family based superhero teams."

"Julie wants a normal life and Alex is away at college," Jack said with a shrug. "Katie will be going into retirement for a while, so it's down to me, Franklin, and Friday."

"Friday can't exactly patrol with you," Valerie said. "If I join up, we'll at least have three active patrol members."

"Can we join?" the Lisas asked.

"You two need to get used to being free and train your powers," Jack told them, "but there's no rush, since I need to retrain myself as well."

"I thought you had a very firm grasp on your power set," Susan said.

"I did," Jack agreed, "however I have three of our powers right now, so I need to experiment and see what works. I've already discovered I can teleport, which is something none of us could do before, though it was a common Kymellian one. According to Friday I need to study physics and meditate on the formulas to master what I have."

"You should visit Dr Strange," Valerie told him, "that is exactly how his sorcery works."

"Meditate on physics formulas?" Reed asked, surprised. "That's what I do when I need to clear my mind."

"Wait," Jack said. "The Snarks refer to Kymellians who use their abilities as Sorcerers, which requires meditation and knowledge of physics to use, and you're telling me human sorcerers use the same method?"

"Exactly," Valerie agreed. "They use complex formulas to manipulate energies scientists have yet to discover in some cases, but that's essentially what they do."

"Doc is pretty cool," Jack said thoughtfully before he reached a decision and nodded. "Looks like I'll have to stop by his place and ask for some tips."

"So... when do I get a costume?" Valerie asked eagerly.

"I made you a costume," Reed reminded her.

"Yes, but this will be an official Power Pack costume," Valerie said with a wide grin making Reed chuckle.

"As soon as Friday gets back," Jack replied. "I sent him to drop off the Snarks I rescued back at home and have Professor X check on their emperor to make sure Jakal isn't going to take over his body."

"Which will avoid a Snark war and insure peace in that corner of the galaxy for another generation," Valerie said with a nod.

"Exactly, not to mention let the professor visit his girlfriend and maybe make a couple of trade deals and sign some treaties," Jack said. "It's a pretty good deal all around. Don't know if Friday's planning on coming straight back because it's a good chance to visit home and catch up on the gossip while he's there, but it shouldn't take more than a week."

"That's fine, I can wait a week for an actual Power Pack costume," Valerie said.

"You should figure out what you want it to look like," Jack told her. "ours are all two-tone with a symbol denoting our power, so try and fit the theme."

"What is your power?" Speedster Lisa asked curiously.

Valerie shrugged. "I'm in the top tier of intelligence, I know magic, but don't really practice it all that much, and I seriously abuse the ability to time travel."

"Think practical abilities you use as a superhero, not the entire list," Jack told her, "my ability to freestyle rap and command ducks are pretty impressive, but they aren't displayed on my costume."

"Command ducks?" Hank muttered to himself.

"I'll get on that," Valerie said. "Dibs on blue and white so it matches my Fantastic Four costume."

"That works," Jack agreed.

"I'll go take care of your AI problem," Reed said, "it'll be easier to do from the bridge."

"You just want to sit in the captain's chair," Susan teased her husband.

"Not just," he defended himself as he got up, "though that is my main motivation."

"May I share some of what we've learned with your parents, so your entire family knows you're alright?" Susan asked Jack.

The teen nodded. "Yes, and thank you for asking."

Susan nodded and followed Reed out the door.

"Okay, the adults are gone, what are we up to that we don't want them to know?" Franklin asked.

"Ahem," Hank said and gave a little wave.

"You don't count," Franklin said, "like Uncle Ben you're secretly a kid pretending to be an adult."

Hank considered that for a moment and nodded. "Yeah, that's fair."

TN: Honestly, considering how useless patrolling is, it should be anything but boring. It's practically a handmade excuse to do parkour across the rooftops. I don't think parkour can be boring. That'd be like if Spiderman got tired of web swinging and decided to walk!

Patrolling really is useless though. At least for anyone without a supersensory ability like Spiderman or Superman. Without that, you're better off being on call back at base, ready to hop into a vehicle or be transported by a Mover.

AN: Comic Book logic means patrolling actually works without having a load of cameras scanning every inch of the city. In any sane world they'd rarely find any crime, much less stumble over supervillains every five minutes.

Mist: "Outside of Gotham… :P"

AN: Yes, outside of Hell's favorite tourist spot.

TN2: I'll be honest, after watching a bit of a virtual tour of the Enterprise on youtube to refresh my memory, I can't say I'd ever want that as my permanent ship design. Too utilitarian for me. Might be fun as a one shot though on occasion since I do know that whatever ship I did design, every room would be a pseudo holodeck and modular enough for the underlying rooms to be changed around like GlaDOS does in Portal 2. I'd probably default to something like a few of the rooms I've seen in VRChat. Some of them are truly incredible to look at. Also my ship would be a literal nightmare for enemy boarders. They get the labyrinth from hell that might just see them running for the bridge only for them to hit the next doorway and find themselves spaced. Or worse, considering if they happen to be able to survive that, which any intelligent boarding party really should be as compartmental depressurization should be a fairly standard anti-boarding tactic. Though honestly since a holodeck can make hologram people, it shouldn't be too hard to make boarders run into Vegeta or Saitama. Or go full eldritch and just have an unearthly claw reach into a chest and pull out their still beating heart. Honestly, too many possibilities to count, especially if the holodeck ability extends to the hull of the ship too. I mean 'nightmare' in many senses of the word for anti-boarding. ^_^

AN2: I always thought they made up all the different sections as needed and just justified them later if called on it. I'm surprised they have actual blueprints. Holograms are limited to where they have mounted emitters and they have had way too many problems to allow the holodeck to affect other areas of the ship.
