"You, are the o-cean's gray waves, destined to seek, life beyond, the shores, just out of reach~..." Azura sang, as glistening water droplets rose into the air around her. "Yet, the waters ever change~... flowing like time, the path is yours to find~..."

Corrin and Lucina happily clapped, and Azura gently bowed.

"Lucina, do you have any songs from your world?" Azura asked, the water droplets falling in gentle sprinkles, as Corrin smiled and reached out her hand to touch them.

"Well, a bit... my mother always sang for me, but I never really-" Lucina rubbed the back of her neck.

"I want to hear!" Corrin smiled, sitting attentively with her excited smile.

"Well, um, it goes..." Lucina cleared her throat. "Flowing through the trees, I hear, the sound... of rustling leaves, and the far-away bells of Ylisse... gathered here, we celebrate, the legacy, of the le-gendary heeero king!"

"Referring to Marth, yes?" Azura asked, not bringing up her shaking and untrained voice, much to Lucina's gratitude.

"Yes, there's more, but I'm really not all that great at singing." Lucina cleared her throat. "Maybe Emmeryn could give you more."

"I think it was pretty great." Corrin smiled, clapping a little.

"Thanks, Corrin. I appreciate it." Lucina said sheepishly, looking away.

"Oh, Azura!" Corrin stood up. "What if we asked the Summoner for a song? Lady Rhea had one too, I'm sure the Summoner could recall one!"

"I'm not entirely sure. I saw them today, and..." Azura trailed off.

"Still bad, huh...?" Corrin pouted, crossing her arms. "Maybe we need to take a vacation with them, get them nice and relaxed."

"A vacation? The Summoner's duties are very important." Lucina said, gesturing to the summoning ruins. "Without them, Askr is doomed."

"Surely not if they're gone for a day or two, yes? I agree, duty comes first... but have you seen the summoner's complexion?" Azura asked.

Kiran hurried throughout the long corridors, carrying stacks of paper on their way to the barracks. They were startled by a sudden hoot, relaxing as soon as the messenger owl Feh landed on their head.

"Oh, you've come back." Kiran smiled, looking up at their hood. "Did you bring news?"

Feh let out another hoot, before dropping some orbs onto the Summoner's paper stack. Kiran fumbled them, dropping the orbs and paper, making Feh fall off in the confusion.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry, I'll get them!" Kiran scrambled to the floor, gathering the papers and looking for the orbs. Feh joined them, trying to help as if apologetic for causing the trouble.

"Summoner? Do you need help?" Azura asked, kneeling down and offering a hand.

"Oh, um, no need to trouble yourself!" Kiran said, finishing up with the gathering. The Summoner attempted to stand up, but stumbled again, taking Azura's hand for balance. "...eheh, thank you."

"It's no trouble." Azura said, before putting a hand on the Summoner's chin and lifting it upwards.

She looked deeply into the shade of the hood, finding the brilliant golden eyes, ringed with dark circles of fatigue and sleeplessness. Such beautiful golden eyes would be the envy of gods, had they not been for lack of self care.

Even the hand that Azura held was skinny and frail. The Summoner had hardly been eating at all, spending so much time planning strategy or working tirelessly to strengthen Askr.

Azura felt sorrow, then noticed that she'd effectively grabbed the summoner's hand and chin, staring deeply into their eyes. They were beginning to blush, and she felt an awkward realization.

"Ah, my apologies." She said, letting go. "That must have seemed very forward, I was checking your health."

"O-Oh!" Kiran cleared their throat. "I see, don't worry, I'm perfectly healthy!"

"On the contrary, you seem sickly and frail... lonely..." Azura frowned, looking at them. "Your pain is rooted deep within, I'm the same way."

The Summoner was taken aback for a moment.

"Did you just psychoanalyze them?" Corrin asked, popping out from behind Azura and making Kiran squeak.

"No, I just feel their pain... this Summoner works themself almost to death."

"I-I'm perfectly fine. Please, don't worry about me." The Summoner waved their hand dismissively. "Really, don't worry. I need to deliver these."

Azura, unconvinced, simply stepped aside, dragging Corrin with her.

"But..." Corrin watched as Kiran walked along, Feh landing on their hood once more. "...why'd you let them go?"

"Male Corrin knows subtlety." Azura said flatly.

"Wait, what do you mean?! Azura?!" Corrin frowned, watching her walk away.

Later that night, as the sun fell to the horizon, Kiran returned to the strategy room, splaying the new documents around the table. All of their observations of strength increases, supports, everything.

Kiran once again lit the magic lamp and sat down, their eyes glowing bright gold as they envisioned each note, seeing the stats of each soldier in practice as they planned their assaults.

"You, are the ocean's gray waves~..." A voice sang, just as the summoner's eyes felt heavy. "Destined to seek, life beyond, the shores, just out of reach~..."

"...hey. Hey, Adam. Adam."

Adam jumped awake, turning his head to the little girl with the red hair.

"We're going to go to the park. Do you want to join us?" She asked with a smile.

"No, I'm sorry... I had a really rough day at school earlier, I'm... not really ready." Adam said, closing his eyes and rubbing his brown hair.

"Okay, well... come find us if you change your mind, but don't get lost, okay? Our guardian got really upset last time."

"Yeah, don't worry. I'll keep that in mind." Adam smiled weakly, as the girl left. After a long day of bullying and being put down, the comforts of the orphanage were bliss.

"Mmngh..." Kiran mumbled, lifting his head and finding drool on the table below his face. "Azura...? Was that..."

The curtains on the windows were drawn, letting the soft sunlight into the room. Kiran's eyes didn't sting, they felt soothed and comforted by the warm embrace.

Kiran stood and stretched, dropping his hood and leaving the strategy room, as he rubbed his sleepy eyes and looked around.

"...Kiran?" Alfonse asked, making the Summoner turn. "Are you okay?"

"Hm? Ah, yeah, I feel great." Kiran said, rubbing his eyes. "Why, what's up?"

"You're... you're up before noon." Alfonse squinted. "And you have your hood down."

Kiran started to realize what happened, becoming self conscious and reaching for his hood.

"No, no, it's good!" Alfonse reached out, gesturing for him to stop. "You're fine, I think you look good like that."

"Oh..." Kiran said awkwardly, letting go of the hood of his robes.

"Everything okay?" Alfonse asked, walking closer.

"Just... missing home." Kiran said, grabbing the railing in front of him and looking down at the courtyard on the first floor, where Sigurd and Xander were taking a walk.

"You've never told me about home." Alfonse said, glancing down at the courtyard as well. "You must remember it fondly."

Kiran looked uncomfortably not at the courtyard below, but his hands.

"I can see you're troubled." Alfonse smiled knowingly. "I won't pry."

"Thanks." Kiran nodded, pulling his hood back up. "I'm... I'm going to go do something."

"Okay." Alfonse said, watching The Summoner leave.

Azura watched sadly from the balcony across the courtyard. She helped alleviate their fatigue, but a broken heart wouldn't be fixed so easily.

Lucina's song is a lyrical interpretation of the Id themes from Fire Emblem Awakening. She's not much of a singer, but I imagine her mother singing the song of The Hero King's legacy to her as she grew up, filling her head with tales of Marth's legend. Fittingly the guise she would choose to save the world.

Kiran, let's leave for later. The Summoner needs time to relax.
