She'd planned on heading straight home—especially considering the weather—but she'd suddenly remembered putting off her grocery trip until the weekend in favour of visiting her sister earlier in the week.
Her two nieces had started the year wanting to be lion-tamers but had recently switched to celestial hairdressers, focusing on how princesses from other planets would style their hair and often using their beloved aunt for practice. It never lasted long, though, as Kagome's straightened locks weren't as pliable as the twins would've liked.
"You could always leave it curly," Sango told her after she'd headed off a tantrum when a recent fishtail braid had come apart.
Kagome shook her head, eying Sango's perfect ponytail longingly. "Easy for you to say. You've never suffered from bedhead in your life! I can barely get a brush through it in the mornings as it is." Sango had lucked out with their father's genes when it came to hair, leaving Kagome to inherit their mother's curls.
There was a reason the shrine owner kept it short, sporting a stylish bob to keep it under control.
"There are tutorials online," Sango said, motioning towards the girls. "They've got a long list of videos that would help—"
Kagome shook her head. "I've tried most of them. It's just easier to keep it straight."
