Stupid sun always somehow coming through that goddamn curtain. Luigi thought annoyed, having a beam of sunlight right in his eye. He looked down and saw Daisy asleep on his chest. After admiring her for a couple of minutes, Luigi got an idea as he grabbed some of Daisy's locks and put them over his eyes. This'll do. he thought while slowly starting to fall asleep again. Before he could though, he heard Daisy complain.

"Why did you do that? Now I don't have anything covering my eyes anymore." she mumbled.

Luigi chuckled and pulled Daisy closer, placing her with her face in-between him and his pillow, preventing any sunlight from coming to her eyes while his are still covered with her hair. "Better?" he asked.

"Hmm." Daisy mumbled, getting comfortable and falling asleep again soon after, as did Luigi. This didn't last long though, as Daisy felt another presence and shot up, startling Luigi in the progress.

Meanwhile at the MK

"Oh? What are you doing here?" Peach asked confused as she saw who she opened the front door of the castle for.

"Can't I come and visit my brothers and my, basically, sister in law?" the person in the doorway joked.

"Of course! I just wasn't expecting you to come today." Peach replied "I'd have to disappoint you though, both Mario and Luigi aren't home, Alejandro." she added.

"What are those two up to now? Another adventure?" Alejandro asked while walking inside, closing the door behind him.

"Not exactly, Luigi is over at the Professor's and I don't even know where Mario ran off to, we kinda got into a fight." Peach explained.

Alejandro put his hand on Peach's shoulder and said "Don't worry about it princess, Mario will come back. He kind of has a hard time controlling emotions, you know this."

Should I inform him of how his oldest younger brother has been acting lately? Or maybe I should leave that to Luigi... Peach thought.

"Hey, whatever the fight was about, the two of you will be alright." Alejandro added, seeing that Peach was lost in thought.

Peach smiled kindly at Alejandro and suggested "Thank you. Are you planning on staying over? I could ask one of my Toads to set you up a room, considering that both of your brothers aren't here."

"If it isn't too much to ask." Alejandro answered.

"Of course not, there are plenty of guest rooms available." Peach responded "I'll go ask my Toads to get your room ready, take a seat in the lounge and I'll make us some of that camomile tea you like." she added.

"Camomile tea? That sounds marvelous!" Peasley said, having entered the room just as Peach said so.

Peach smiled at Peasley and said "I'll make tea for the three of us." while leaving the room.

"Peasley? You here too?" Alejandro asked.

"Yes, I sadly enough can't tell you why. Royal secrecy you know." Peasley replied.

"Doesn't matter, I came to see my brothers but apparently neither of them are here." Alejandro answered.

"Oh yeah, Luigi went to the professor's for business. Although, I don't know where Mario is." Peasley responded.

"Apparently nobody does. As usual. Our parents have always had a hard time knowing where Mario was, he's always doing his own thing." Alejandro stated.

"You can say that again." Peasley chuckled.

Peach walked in with a tray that contains a tea pot and tea cups. "I've got the tea."

Both men smiled at the sight of the princess with their favorite tea, dreaming of drinking it already.

Back with Luigi & Daisy

"What's wrong?" Luigi asked alarmed after Daisy had hastily broken their embrace.

"Since when do Boos come in dog form?" Daisy asked confused.

Luigi seemed confused but followed Daisy's eyes. There was indeed a dog shaped Boo sitting on the bed with them, making Luigi alert. "I will capture you!" he yelled at the ghost dog.

Daisy stared at the Boo and said "It doesn't seem like it's going to harm us."

Luigi, not being fond of any type of ghost, wasn't convinced. "What if it's pretending to be friendly and it will turn into a gigantic hellhound with three heads when we're not looking?" he asked.

Daisy looked at Luigi with a "what the hell" face.

"What? You never know with Boos!" Luigi stated.

Daisy rolled her eyes at her boyfriend and turned back to the ghostly dog. "Hi buddy, are you nice or are you an evil three-headed hellhound?" she asked the dog sarcastically.

The ghostly dog barked, startling both of them. Feeling bad for scaring the two, the dog jumped onto Daisy and started licking her face, making her giggle.

Luigi, who almost had a heart attack due to dog the jumping at his girlfriend, was about to jump at the dog and get it off his lover. However, he calmed down once he noticed it was being friendly.

"Aren't you a cutie?" Daisy asked once the ghost dog stopped showering her with kisses. "And your slime from your kisses disappears because you're a ghost, how cool!" she added.

"It did look like it showed remorse when it startled us." Luigi mumbled.

"Look! His collar has a tag on it." Daisy said. She grabbed the tag and turned it around "Polterpup. That's a weird name, are you a friend of the professor's?" she asked.

The dog nodded and ran in circles excitedly.

"I guess he is, hasn't the professor mentioned him before?" Daisy asked Luigi.

"No, which is why we shouldn't trust it." Luigi answered.

"Aww come on, look at him." Daisy said while grabbing the dog and pulling him closer to her face. "Isn't he adorable?" Daisy asked, also doing the puppy dog eyes the dog was doing.

"It's a Boo, so no." Luigi replied.

Daisy looked at Polterpup and then at Luigi and then back at the dog. She then smirked as she released the dog, who then proceeded to run up to Luigi and shower him with kisses.

"Hey! Daisy! Get it off! Get it off! Get it off now!" Luigi yelled, making Daisy burst out in laughter and making Polterpup even more excited.

After a while Luigi calmed down and soon after the dog stopped licking him. Luigi patted him on the head and mumbled "Okay, maybe you're not a bad Boo."

"Maybe." Daisy said mockingly as Polterpup ran back into her lap.

"I will not be certain of it until we've spoken to Gadd." Luigi stated.

Daisy rolled her eyes in response. "Maybe we should get ready and go see the professor, he did say to leave first thing in the morning." Daisy said.

"Now that we've been rudely awaken, we might just do that." Luigi mumbled.

Daisy gave Luigi the side-eye as she stood up with the ghost dog in her hands. "Don't be an ass to the dog." she said.

"I don't have a good experience with any type of Boo, you know this." Luigi replied.

"It's just a dog." Daisy said before closing the bathroom door and getting ready.

Now it was Luigi's turn to roll his eyes. Just a dog my ass. he thought. He decided to already change his clothes in the bedroom while Daisy was using the bathroom in order to save time and get out of this "scary ass house".

After twenty minutes Daisy, and Polterpup, came out of the bathroom ready for the day. "Your turn." Daisy said "Where do I put your clothes that I wore?" she asked.

Luigi got up from the bed and said "Somewhere in the closet will be fine, we don't need to wash them considering that you just wore them once."

"Sure, I'll put the pants you were wearing somewhere in the closet too." Daisy said while passing Luigi.

Before Luigi could reply, Polterpup had jumped into his arms. "Oh no you don't, I don't need a ghost being in the same room as me when I'm taking a piss and getting ready." Luigi said, placing the dog on the bed. "Stay." he added.

Polterpup whined as Luigi walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind him.

"Aww, is Luigi being a big meanie to you?" Daisy asked the dog in a baby voice while cuddling him after she put the clothes in the closet. Then she got an idea and smirked at the dog.

What if the professor isn't awake yet? Luigi asked himself while taking a leak. Before he could ponder more about it, he heard a bark from next to him that scared the shit out of him, resulting in Luigi screaming through the whole mansion and uhm... missing the toilet.

Daisy on the other hand, could be heard dying of laughter from behind the bathroom door.

"Daisy! What the fuck!" Luigi yelled while composing himself.

The dog quickly jumped through the door again and joined Daisy in the bedroom. After some more laughing, Daisy yelled back "That's what you get for being mean to the dog!"

"It's a fucking ghost!" Luigi yelled back while taking a breath "Now there's piss everywhere!" he added.

Daisy started laughing even louder after Luigi said that. After a while she yelled "You clumsy fuck, that's all on you!"

Luigi grumbled, now that he'd composed himself again while he still heard Daisy giggling next door. He cleaned the mess "he" created and continued getting ready. Once he was done he went into the bedroom again to see Daisy sitting on the bed with the ghost dog in her lap while giggling.

"Sup pissboy." Daisy joked, trying to keep herself from laughing.

"Fuck off." Luigi grumbled as Daisy burst out in laughter again. "We should go downstairs to meet with Gadd." he added.

"How's the situation in there?" Daisy asked while gesturing towards the bathroom door and barely being able not to laugh.

"Why don't you go and see for yourself." Luigi replied annoyed as Daisy giggled.

After Daisy contained herself from laughing, she said "Let's go downstairs to the professor, he'll probably be wondering what all the noise is about."

Luigi chuckled and said "I doubt that, he can't hear that well anymore."

Daisy grabbed the backpack they brought with them and said "I packed the few things we brought in the meantime."

"Good, we should go find Gadd." Luigi answered.

Daisy agreed and followed Luigi out of the room alongside Polterpup. She closed the door behind them as she watched Luigi being confused.

Which way was out of this maze? Luigi asked himself.

"Do you not know which way to go?" Daisy asked, interrupting Luigi's thoughts.

"Everything looks the literal same, so no." Luigi admitted.

Before either of them could say anything, Polterpup barked, catching both of their attention. He was walking in half circles the same way over and over again.

"I think he's trying to show us the way?" Daisy questioned out loud.

"I do not trust a ghost." Luigi said "What if he leads us into a trap?" he asked.

Daisy turned to Luigi and asked sarcastically "A trap? In the professor's house?"

"Maybe we're not even in Gadd's house anymore. Maybe we're kidnapped and this is an illusion." Luigi stated.

"Then at least we'll find the ghosts we'll have to beat so we can get out of here if we decide to follow Polterpup." Daisy reasoned.

Luigi pondered for a minute while staring at Daisy. "You're annoying." he said.

"I'm right." Daisy corrected "The only way out, bad encounters or not, is to follow the dog." she added.

"The Boo." Luigi corrected.

"Whatever." Daisy said, grabbing hold of Luigi's arm. "We're following Polterpup together, we'll be fine and we'll just be in the professor's house with no bad encounters." she stated while dragging Luigi along. They followed the dog down all kinds of hallways and stairs and they indeed eventually made it to the kitchen, where E. Gadd. was present.

The professor turned around and said "There you two are! I was about to come and find you, I thought you two got lost in the house or something."

"There was a Boo in our room." Luigi responded.

"A Boo?" the professor questioned. "There are no Boos in this house, Luigi, not anymore." he added.

"He's talking about the dog, Polterpup?" Daisy added.

"Oh! The pup! Of course, Luigi don't worry, kid, he's a good boy." Gadd explained.

"How come I've never seen this 'good boy' then?" Luigi asked, still not too thrilled about the dog.

"Another ghostbuster from one of the furthest parts of the magic realms found him." the professor explained "But his cat didn't get along with the ghost dog, so he asked if I wanted some company and I thought why not, he's a good pup. He's friendly and guards the house, and most importantly for you, he knows his way around the house." he ended explaining with a chuckle.

"See? I told you he's friendly." Daisy said to Luigi while holding the pup.

"How can you trust a ghost when you've been capturing them your whole life?" Luigi asked the professor.

"Not all ghosts are bad, Luigi." Gadd answered.

"Just like not all people are good." Daisy added.

"Indeed, princess." the professor mused.

"How can you not trust these puppy eyes?" Daisy asked, holding the dog closer to Luigi.

Luigi eyed the dog wearily and turned towards Gadd. "When did you get this dog?" he asked him.

"I'd say almost half a year ago, it was right after I last saw you." the professor replied.

"And he's never done something suspicious?" Luigi questioned.

"No, just dog and good ghost things combined." E. Gadd responded.

"And this ghostbuster you got the dog from, is he trustworthy?" Luigi kept on questioning.

"Jeez Luigi." Daisy mumbled while shaking her head.

"I get where he's coming from, princess, he has always encountered bad ghosts." the professor said while looking at Daisy. Then he turned to Luigi and answered "You of all people should know I limit myself to barely any person, so yes, the ghostbuster is trustworthy. And for what it's worth, he had the dog for six months before he reached out to me because he really wanted to keep the dog because he's so sweet and a good boy. The only problem was his cat."

"Maybe that cat was onto something." Luigi said.

"I know a nice animal when I see it, Lou." Daisy stated. "When I was a kid I always brought home strays, even reptiles to my parents disgust." she finished with a chuckle.

"If I recall correctly, you still do, princess." Gadd said with a grin.

Daisy scoffed and said "I can't just leave a poor animal alone on the streets. There are bad people out there."

"Ah yes, I've heard about the changes in the Sarasalandian laws about animal cruelty. That was probably per your request, I assume?" The professor inquired.

"Well, yeah. They should've been there in the first place." Daisy said proudly.

"If that dog does one thing wrong, it's going in the Poltergust." Luigi said after some thinking.

Polterpup whined at the sound of that. In return, Daisy coddled the ghost dog even more and said "Don't worry Polterpup, I won't let the mean greenie do anything to you." After which she showered him with kisses and walked towards the table to sit down and eat the breakfast the professor had prepared.

"Kid, it's just a dog in ghost form, it's harmless." Gadd said to Luigi.

"You sure? It's stealing my girlfriend as we speak." Luigi answered, not letting his eyes leave the dog in question.

The professor laughed weirdly. After he was done laughing, he said "Kid, your girlfriend loves animals, she'll be like that with every animal she encounters."

"I'd rather have her cuddle any other animal than a ghost dog." Luigi mumbled.

"How about a snake?" Gadd asked, knowing that the princess indeed owns a snake.

"A what?" Luigi asked, turned to the professor.

"She owns one you know." the professor said. "It's common knowledge in Sarasaland that the princess, while playing in the castle gardens one day as a child, found a snake and brought it inside. Obviously her parents weren't satisfied with that, but that same day that snake saved the princess from an attack at the castle." he explained. "After that they saw how attached the princess was to the snake, and vice versa, and they decided to let her keep it." he added.

"They left Daisy alone with a snake?" Luigi asked concerned.

"Heavens no! Luigi, the king and queen might have been mild with raising their children, but they would've never allowed such thing!" Gadd responded immediately. "When the snake was out of its cage when the princess was younger, there was always a capable supervisor to overlook the interactions. Considering that she still owns the snake, I'm pretty sure that it never attacked her." he added.

"Are you fucking with me?" Luigi asked wearily.

"What? I would never." The professor answered seriously.

"Why hasn't she told me about the snake then?" Luigi asked.

Gadd chuckled and said "She probably wants to scare you with it."

Luigi pondered for a second, after which he mumbled "That does sound like Daisy."

"Now go eat breakfast kid! When you two are done eating, we'll leave for the castle." the professor said, while ushering Luigi towards where Daisy is.

Once Luigi was at the table, he sat down across from Daisy, who was already munching on her toast.

"You done gossiping about me with the professor?" Daisy asked seriously.

"W-wha? W-we weren't t-talking about y-you." Luigi stuttered nervously.

Daisy stared at Luigi for a good moment, making him more nervous than he already was, before continuing her breakfast, chuckling and saying "I'm just fuckin' with ya, it's too easy."

After Luigi calmed down, he sarcastically asked "Do you always have to bring me near having a heart attack?"

Daisy giggled and said "I do not, that's all on you. Now, eat, you said you didn't like this scary house."

Luigi also grabbed some toast and said "I did not say that."

"But you were thinking it." Daisy responded.

Luigi glared at Daisy for a second, to which she playfully stuck out her tongue. After the small interaction, they both continued eating breakfast.

"Are you sure you two didn't forget anything?" the professor asked while Luigi was loading Gadd's suitcases.

"No, we only brought Daisy's backpack as we didn't plan on staying over." Luigi explained.

"Are you sure that you have everything?" Daisy asked Gadd.

"Do you really have to question that with all the suitcases I'm stacking in the car?" Luigi asked.

"Actually, I forgot my most important device." the professor said before sprinting inside. After a couple of minutes he was back at the car and explained "This detects Boos."

Daisy tried to stifle her giggles while Luigi said "Really? You forgot that particular device?"

"Eh, oops?" Gadd answered. "Let's see if this thing is charged." he added while turning on the device. It immediately started beeping, to which Luigi started looking around frantically, as he knew from experience that sound means that there is a ghost nearby.

Luigi did stop panicking and freaking out when he heard that the professor and Daisy were trying not to laugh. "What?!" he asked. Then he realized that Daisy was still holding Polterpup. Luigi let out a sigh of relieve, after which he asked the professor "How do you know when there's an actual ghost in your house when it goes off because of the dog?"

Gadd stopped laughing and responded "The device attached to my house has been altered to not detect Polterpup as an enemy. Also, Polterpup alerts me when there is a stray Boo on my premises."

"Why are you still holding the dog, shouldn't it be inside?" Luigi asked.

"Oh, he's coming along, didn't the professor tell you?" Daisy answered.

"What? A ghost in my car? Or in the place that I live?!" Luigi panicked.

Daisy giggled while the professor explained "Kid, the dog is good. There is no questioning that."

"Shouldn't he stay behind to guard your house?" Luigi asked.

"Once the gates closes, my boobytraps activate, so no." Gadd replied.

Luigi kept thinking for a bit, but Daisy interrupted his thoughts. "You won't find any reason to let the pup stay here, Lou." she said.

"It's coming with us. Polterpup and I are a package deal." the professor joined Daisy.

"Okay, jeez. But he better not be floating around the car or else I will crash." Luigi gave up.

"You hear that pup? Lou wants you to come along." Daisy said while holding the ghost dog close and getting into the front seat.

Luigi grumbled while closing the trunk of his car.

"I'll modify the portable detecting device during our drive to the MK." Gadd said to Luigi. He opened the backdoor of Luigi's car and struggled to get inside with the device.

Luigi took the device from the professor and said "I'll hand it to you." while lending him his other hand to help him inside the car. Luigi did as he said he would do and handed Gadd the device after he was safely seated and buckled up.

"Thank you, kid." the professor said right before Luigi closed the door for him. He then walked to the driver's door and seated himself. He closed the door and buckled himself up, before asking "You sure you got everything?" while looking at the professor through his rearview mirror of his car.

"Yes, we're good to go." Gadd answered, already working on his device.

Luigi turned to Daisy, who was still petting Polterpup. She looked up at Luigi and said "We're good, let's go back to the castle."

"And let's hope that Mario and Peach haven't murdered each other." Luigi mumbled, loud enough for only Daisy to hear, to which she giggled.

"You don't think they've gotten into a car crash, do you?" Peach asked Valerian nervously.

"Jesus, Peach, it's a two hour drive. It's only 11 o'clock, they'll be here soon." Valerian replied.

"Luigi is a careful driver, princess, I think he's the only one of us that hasn't gotten into a car crash yet." Alejandro joined in.

"As you said, yet, it's bound to happen." Peach answered, still not thrilled about the whole thing.

"You always worry so much, princess." Peasley, who was also in the room, stated. "They're probably stuck in traffic or something like that." he added.

"Or they caused the traffic by getting into an accident." Peach pondered worriedly out loud.

"Peaches, do you always have to think about the worst case scenarios?" Valerian asked, starting to get annoyed by the concerned princess.

"I can't help it because of recent events." Peach responded.

"If something was indeed wrong with Daisy, I'd feel it. Like I did when she was in trouble." Valerian told, trying to ease the princess.

However, it didn't work. The stress Peach has from the fights with her longterm boyfriend, combined with Daisy's recent kidnapping and the possibility of a war is getting to her, making her worry about everything. "Maybe I should call them." Peach said.

"While they're driving? That doesn't exactly sound safe." Peasley voiced.

A loud crashing sound coming from outside caught the attention of all four of them, making their conversation stop and their heads turn to the noise.

"Oh god, I knew something bad was going to happen!" Peach said while everyone raced outside.
