Flying up to the top floor and into a special room gave Beatrice the chills, and she was a ghost for crying out loud. She watched as Jada snapped her fingers and made the lights turn on. The windows went black and the cauldron in the center lit up with a fire underneath it.

(SONG: "Poor Unfortunate Souls" - The Little Mermaid, 2023)

"Are you sure this is safe?" Beatrice asked, curious as to why Jada would have this room set up the way it was. But Jada just smiled, turning to Beatrice as she kept her cool.

"Everything is fine," She said.

JADA: I admit that in the past I've been a-nasty./They weren't kidding when they called me, well...a witch./But you'll find that nowadays/I've mended all my ways/repented, seen the light, and made a switch./True, yes./And I, fortunately, know a little magic/it's a talent that I always have possessed./And here lately, please don't laugh/I use it on behalf of the miserable, the lonely, and depressed./(Whispers: Pathetic). (Fakes a smile) Poor unfortunate souls/in pain/in need./This one longing to be thinner/this one wants to get the girl/and do I help them?/Yes, indeed./Those poor unfortunate souls/so sad/so true./They come flocking to my cauldron crying: "spells, Jada, please!"/And I help them/yes I do./Now it's happened once or twice/someone couldn't pay the price/and I'm afraid I had to wrack them across the coals./Yes I've had the odd complaint./But, on the whole, I've been a saint/to those poor unfortunate souls.

After Jada put the ingredients for the spell in the cauldron, she walked over to Beatrice, still smiling at her old friend.

JADA: So, here's the deal. I'll whip up a little potion to make you human for three days. Got that? Three days. Before the sun sets on the third day, you and "Princey" must share a kiss. And not just any kiss. The kiss of true love. If you do, you will remain a human, permanently. But if you don't, you'll turn back into a ghost girl…and you'll belong to me. Do we have a deal?

BEATRICE: I don't know.

JADA: Life's full of tough choices, isn't it?

BEATRICE: No…this is wrong. I can't do this.

JADA: Fine, then! Forget about this world above! Go back home to Daddy…and NEVER LEAVE AGAIN!

BEATRICE: What?! No!

JADA: Come on you, poor unfortunate soul/go ahead/make your choice./I'm a very busy woman and I haven't got all day./It won't cost much/just your voice./You poor unfortunate soul/it's sad/but true./If you want to cross the bridge, my sweet/you got to the pay a toll./Prick your finger if you dare/and drop your blood inside the bowl./(Whispers: Oh, look out now, I've got her boys)./The boss is on a roll/this poor unfortunate SOUL!

BEATRICE: (Signs the scroll)

JADA: Beluga sevruga/come winds of the Caspian Sea./Larengix galucitis/et max laryngitis/la voce to me! (Looks at BEATRICE) Now sing!

BEATRICE: Ah, ah…

JADA: Keep singing!

BEATRICE: Ah, ah, ah…

Almost immediately, Beatrice's voice flew out of her throat and entered the ghostly white amulet that Jada was wearing. The young Shaggoth girl stared in wonder and fear as green, pink, white, and even black swam around her, raising her from the ground. She would have fought it if she hadn't noticed her ghostly image fading away from the mirror Jada kept close by.

"Almost done!" Jada yelled before the magic burst everywhere, causing Beatrice to fall to the ground with a loud thud. Jada winced at the impact.

(End of the song)

"Oops, sorry." Beatrice tried to say it was fine, only to realize her voice was truly gone. She looked at Jada, seeing her smile before gesturing to the mirror. "I think your new look is worth the price."

Beatrice stared before standing up, confused as to what Jada meant. She looked over at the mirror...and froze. She no longer had that ghostly glow around her, or her neon green eyes. Instead, she bore brown eyes and her once deathly pale skin had more color to it, making it almost beige or tan. Even her signature black dress with the top being black and white stripes (like her father's suit) was changed to an all-black pencil dress with a single green waistband around her stomach. But the real shocking part of her new look was her hair. Yes, it was still long and curly as it was in her ghost form, but instead of green...it was a gorgeous pale blond.

'How?' Beatrice tried to ask, only to silently groan as she had forgotten her voice was gone again.

"You're welcome," Jada said.

"Beatrice!" The two looked to see Octavia rushing over to the human form of Beatrice now, staring in surprise and worry. "What did you do?!"

"She gave up her voice to be a human for three days," Jada said. "Now the only way to get her back to normal is if she doesn't get true love's kiss by sunset on the third day."

"Why would you do that, Bea!? Your father will have your head!" Octavia yelled.

"That's IF he finds out," Jada said.

'Please don't tell him,' Beatrice mouthed, making Octavia stare for a moment. She could read lips pretty well. She got used to it when she'd spy on her parents. So, knowing what she was trying to say wasn't going to be hard. 'Help me stay like this. Please!'

Octavia sighed as she rubbed her temples. The oncoming headache was already pounding in her mind and she had half of one to rip that necklace off Jada's neck and get Beatrice her voice back to become a ghost again. But the look in her best friend's eyes said another thing...she needed this. She needed to see this through. So with one low sigh again, she nodded, agreeing to help her as she led Beatrice out of the room.

But as they left, Jada touched her amulet, her once sweet smile turning into something more sinister.

"All is according to plan."

The school day had ended weirdly. Dash, being Dash, didn't bother Danny once and the young ghost hero sort of knew why. But, that usually didn't stop Dash from wanting to try and be friends now. However, with the empty seat next to him and the fact that Sam was no longer with them, he felt that Dash was taking it easy on him today.

But that didn't mean Dash wouldn't try shortly.

"It felt weird," Tucker finally spoke up, making Danny look over at his friend as they walked down the street from the school. "I kept expecting to turn a corner and see her." Danny sighed, looking back down to his feet.

"Same," He said.

"Do you think she's in the Ghost Zone?" Tucker asked, making Danny perk up at the idea, but then thought about it completely. Sam, yes, could have been in the Ghost Zone, but if that was the case, she would have found a way to see them again by now. And with him being a part ghost, he'd still be able to go out with her. It wouldn't have been that bad.

But again...she hadn't made her ghost-self known yet.

"I don't think so, Tuck," Danny finally said, giving him a saddened grin. "I think she was able to move on."

"Oh...I guess you're right," Tucker sighed at the thought before stopping at the park. The one where it all ended for them. "Do you...?"

"Yes, I regret that I couldn't save her in time, Tucker!" Danny snapped, stopping with his friend and staring at him. Tucker looked at Danny, seeing the anger and hurt in his eyes. He could tell that he truly loved Sam. That he had planned to marry her when the right moment came. But now he knew that day would never come. However, there was something else in his friend's eyes.

That girl he spoke of—the one who saved his life.

"Danny, what's on your mind?" Tucker finally asked, getting a calming sigh from his friend.

"You know what's on my mind," He said, looking away and walking forward. All day, Danny couldn't get that voice out of his head. The gorgeous, angelic sound played through his mind, healing him from the inside. And her neon green eyes (though they were the same color as his Phantom form), how they sparkled in the sunlight. He was captivated by who she could have been. Though he kind of had a feeling it was Bea-Juice, the ghost girl from that day of Sam's funeral. There was something about her that told him she was innocent, ready to just relax and enjoy the world around her. Nothing sinister was planned or anything evil in those big eyes of hers.

(SONG: "Wild Uncharted Waters" - The Little Mermaid, 2023) [Semi-lyric change]

"Danny, you can't be serious!" Tucker yelled. "I thought..."

"I'm still hurting, Tuck," Danny said. "But...I'm telling you...there's a girl out there who saved me. And I will find her."

DANNY: All I ever wanted/was the open air and sky/freedom from the heartache that I've known./Now all I am is haunted/as days and hours roll by./All I ever think about is you./There you are/over me/taking me with your song!/To wild uncharted waters/miles beyond the sky./I was darkness-bound/I had almost drowned/'til you came around and you found me./Now I am on the pavement/but I'm still lost at sea./In these wild uncharted waters/come find me…again.

Tucker sighed in defeat, walking further down as he said goodbye to his friend, hoping that tomorrow would be different.

DANNY: All I do is wonder/who you are and where you'll be./In my mind, your melody goes on./Stronger than the undertow/today you rescued me./Silhouetted by the rising dawn./Oh, over you./I cannot get over you!/In wild uncharted waters/beyond where man can see./When your eyes outshine the horizon line/and you're finally real, here beside me./Now I'm right here on the pavement./I'm right where you left me!/And your voice is like/a siren that guides me/to wild uncharted waters/alone, just you and me!/And I hope you're there, in the open air!/There's no map or compass to guide me, no./Time may change the pavement/but time will not change ME!/If it takes my life/I will finally find you again./In uncharted waters./Come find me/AGAIN!

(End of the song)

All of a sudden, looking up to the hill that had the old Townsend Place perched, he noticed a girl walking out of it, stumbling a little bit here and there like she was having trouble walking. He rushed over, squeezing through the gates and jogging up as the girl started to fall. He caught her in time though, making her look up and stare in surprise. Her blond hair blew in the light breeze, her (new) brown eyes beaming with admiration.

Beatrice found him already.

"You okay?" Danny asked, holding her by the arm with one hand on her back. "You seemed kind of out of it."

'I'm fine,' She tried to say, only to mentally kick herself to realize she was now mute...again. I'm gonna need to get used to that, She thought.

"Oh, you can't talk, can you?" Danny asked again, getting a nod in return. "Wow...bummer," He sighed. "Are you new here?" She nodded again. "Where did you come from?" She thought, thinking of how she could tell him it was her that helped him and saved him, and that she was Bea-Juice, the ghost girl he met a day ago by this point. But nothing was coming to her mind. She couldn't do sign language, and if she could, she wasn't sure if he'd understand her.

So, she just mouthed what she had to say.

'Ghost Zone.' Danny cocked his head, trying to see if he could understand her, but what she said made no sense.

"If you're from the Ghost Zone, then my..." He stopped, thinking over his words before shaking his head from the thoughts. "Nevermind. Were you abandoned by your parents?" At hearing the word "parents", Beatrice knew immediately that her father indeed did...kind of. So, she nodded with a single harsh nod to him, anger still bubbling inside her for his destructive decision. However, while doing so, her head went fuzzy. She grabbed her forehead and shook her head slightly to rid herself of the oncoming migraine at this point.

Danny chuckled. "Don't nod your head that hard," He said, making her look at him. "It's alright. My family and I have a guest room. You can stay with us until you, eventually, get on your feet." He grinned, making Beatrice's cheeks warm up with a slight blush. Oh, how she wished she would have been able to keep her voice. She could have told him everything! But, with Jada being Jada, she had to give something up.

"Come on. I'll take you there now," He added, helping the newly formed human from the Ghost Zone walk toward his house.

Meanwhile, up on the roof of the old Townsend Place, Octavia watched from afar as Beatrice and Danny walked down the path toward his house. The silver-haired ghost girl sighed as she looked up to the sky.

"Please...don't let her father find out."
