At the Boar's Nest

"You're gonna have to, Rosco!" Boss hollered.

"I can't afford that, Boss, I jus' can't!"

"Rosco, I kept you in my house and paid for your food for almost three months! You'll have to pay the rent, and that's the end of it." Boss puffed from his cigar.

"You can take it out of my pay." Rosco offered.

"I already take 35% of your pay, Rosco." Boss grabbed a pig's foot and crammed it in his mouth.

"Can I say somethin' sheriff?" Enos spoke up.

"What is it, you dipstick?"

"You can have the reward money that I collected from catchin' Kent Austin." Enos offered.

"There was a reward for that?" Boss demanded.

"Yes sir." Enos nodded.

"It belongs to me, then." Boss decided.

"Mr. Hogg, it's mine." Enos stood up for his rights.

"What did you say?" Boss stood up.

"But Rosco here can have it to pay you." Enos offered.

"You mean that, Enos?" Rosco asked.

"Yes sir, sheriff."

"Why, thank you Enos, that's right kind of you." Rosco smiled.

"Alright, go get it, and give it to me for the rent!" Boss demanded.

"Yes sir, Mr. Hogg." Enos drove down to the bank to collect the money.

Once Boss'd been paid, Rosco and Enos went out on patrol again: the last patrol of the day.

"I forgot to tell you, sheriff, Corey ain't mad at you no more. I explained everythin' to him on the way home from school."

"Oooooh! I love it I love it! My little buddy is happy with me again!" Rosco giggled.

The next day was Corey's 11th birthday so, Pricilla went to the police station to ask a favor.

"Excuse me, Rosco?"

"Yes m'am?"

"It's Corey's birthday today, and I was wondering if he could be a deputy, just for today?" She asked.

"Well, alright!" Rosco giggled.

"Thank you. I'll bring him by in an hour or so." Pricilla left. That was easy.

"Ooooh! I'm gonna have a little deputy that ain't no dipstick!" Rosco giggled as he went out on patrol.

"Alright, you Duke boys, I don't know where you are, but wherever you are, I wanna talk to ya."

"You got Bo Duke here, Rosco. What's it that we've s'posed to've done now?"

"Nothin'. Yet. I was wonderin' if you could speed by the sheriff's office in that orange clunker car around 1:00 today so's I can write you a ticket?"

"What? Rosco, have you been drinkin' near beer from the Boar's Nest? Me an' Luke wouldn't do that fer-"

"Corey?"

"What does he have to do with it?"

"It's his birthday today, an' he's gonna be my temporary deputy."

"You want us to let him write us a speeding ticket?"

"Will you?"

"Bo, come on!" Luke hollered from the barn.

"Just a minute, Rosco." Bo trotted back into the barn

"Rosco wants us to 'speed by the sheriff's office in that orange clunker car' so's Corey can write us a ticket." Bo mocked Rosco. "If it'll make Corey happy I reckon we could." Bo suggested.

"Yeah, but we'll have to be watchin' Rosco. You know, make sure he doesn't pull anything?"

"Alright. On the way there we should go pick up Daisy. Corey likes her." Bo chuckled as he climbed into the General.

"We'll be there, Rosco, but you'd best not try anything."

"Oooh, goody goody! I'm gone." Rosco giggled. "Oooh! I love this!"

...

"Now you're officially a Hazzard county deputy!" Rosco giggled.

"Just for today." Boss reminded, rather harshly.

Then they all heard the Dixie horn as a car zipped by.

"Rosco! It's the Duke boys!" Boss shouted.

"Hot pursuit! Come on Corey!" Rosco rushed into his car, and Corey got in the passenger side.

The Dukes made it look pretty good, until they finally swerved off to the side of the road.

"You can write the ticket Corey. Make it fer $25!" Rosco giggled.

"Howdy, Daisy. Bo, Luke." Corey walked up to the driver's side of the General.

"Well, look at you!" Daisy looked him over. "He looks real cute in the uniform." Daisy giggled to Bo and Luke.

"Thank you, Daisy." Corey smiled.

"And, uh, I know we was speedin' Corey. You'd best make us out a ticket." Bo reminded him.

"Oh, yeah." Corey got his eyes off of Daisy and began filling out the ticket.

"Here ya are." He handed it to them proudly.

"Hey, Corey wait..." Daisy climbed out of the General and bent down next to Corey.

"You'll make a real fine deputy, honey." She kissed his cheek.

"Th-thanks Daisy..." Corey starred at her as she climbed back into the General, and the Dukes took off.

I just got kissed by Daisy Duke... Corey stumbled back into the patrol car.
