Pokémon Tragedy At The Wallace Cup Chapter 2 Visitors

Ash blinked his eyes open, his body stiff and sore from the uncomfortable chair he had spent the night in. He found himself in a hospital room, surrounded by white walls and the soft beeping of the medical equipment. As he shifted in his chair, he noticed a warm sensation in his hand. Looking down, he saw his hand intertwined with May's delicate fingers. A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips, and he gently squeezed her hand. He then brushed a hair away from her face.

His gaze then turned to May, lying peacefully in the hospital bed beside him. Memories of the previous day flooded into his mind, recalling that May had gotten hit with Hyper Beam while participating in the Wallace Cup and then remembered that Nurse Joy had told him that she would be out for a couple of days. Ash's eyes never strayed from May's peaceful face, hoping for any sign of her stirring.

Time seemed to stand still as he sat by her side, his mind filled with a mix of emotions. He couldn't help but still feel guilty, still blaming himself for the accident and that he couldn't save her. He gently brushed a strand of her hair away from May's face. Ash whispered, "You're so strong, May." His voice carried a mixture of determination and affection, hoping his words would reach her subconscious.

Ash then leans in, and he gently places a soft kiss on her forehead. Although May remains unconscious, Ash hopes that his gesture will convey his support and affection. He wanted May to feel his presence and care for her in her unconscious state. Ash silently promised himself to be there for her throughout her healing process, offering his unwavering support and friendship.

Dawn and Brock, who had woken up, smile at the very cute scene. "How did you sleep last night, Ash?" Dawn asked him, trying to start a conversation and take Ash's mind off of May.

Ash turned and smiled, although both Brock and Dawn could tell it was forced. "Good" He replied.

Their small conversation was interrupted by Nurse Joy entering the room. "Sorry, I'm just doing a checkup on May," She told them.

Nurse Joy immediately noticed Ash sitting beside May's bed, their hands intertwined. She smiled softly, understanding the bond between the trainer and coordinator. She carefully approached May's bed, making sure not to disturb the peaceful scene.

Nurse Joy began checking May's vital signs, gently placing a thermometer under her tongue to measure her temperature. She also took note of her heart rate and blood pressure, ensuring that everything was within a healthy range—well, as healthy as she could be at the moment. Next Nurse Joy carefully examined May's legs, which was still in a cast. She gently prodded around the area to assess any signs of swelling or discomfort. Seeing that May still remained unconscious, Nurse Joy made sure to be extra gentle during the examination, not wanting to cause any unnecessary pain.

She then moved on to May's other injuries, checking for any additional fractures or wounds. Carefully removing the bandages from the gash on her back, as Ash and the rest of the gang saw the huge gash on her back, and it made them gasp at the size of it. She cleaned the wound. Nurse Joy inspected the gash along with some cuts and bruises, cleaning the gash along with them with antiseptic and reapplying fresh dressings to promote healing. She carefully cleaned the wound, her face displaying a mix of professionalism and compassion. Ash keeps his eyes fixated on May, his heart filled with worry and still guilt for not being able to protect her.

Dawn, standing nearby, placed a comforting hand on Ash's shoulder, offering him support. She knows how much May means to him and understands the pain he's going through. As Nurse Joy finishes cleaning the gash, she begins the process of applying fresh dressings and bandages. The sight of the red-stained bandages made all three of them wince, Realizing the extent of May's injury.

Throughout the entire procedure, May remained unconscious, her breathing steady but shallow. Ash's grip on her hand tightens, his gaze never leaving her face. He blames himself for what happened, his mind replaying the Hyper Beam hitting her. Dawn, sensing his despair, whispered words of encouragement, reminding him that he couldn't have saved her, no matter how he done, and she reassured him that May was in good hands and they all needed to stay strong for her.

Finally, Nurse Joy finishes securing the dressings and bandages, ensuring they are snug but not too tight. She steps back, her eyes filled with empathy, as she observes the group's emotional state. She gently placed a hand on Ash's shoulder, offering him reassurance. "It will take time, but with proper care and rest, May will recover," Nurse Joy says softly. "She's lucky to have friends like you by her side."

Throughout the process, Ash never let go of May's hand. Nurse Joy couldn't help but notice the unwavering support and concern in his eyes. It was clear that Ash deeply cared for May, and seeing this display of affection warmed Nurse Joy's heart. After completing the checkup, Nurse Joy stepped back, satisfied with May's progress. She gently patted Ash on the shoulder, offering him a reassuring smile. "She's doing well," She said softly. "Just give her some time to heal."

Nurse Joy then quietly left the room, leaving all four of them alone in the room. Ash couldn't bear to leave her side. He wanted to be there for her, to support her through this difficult time. He gently ran his fingers through her hair, finding comfort in the softness of it. He traced his thumb around her fingers, he marveled at how delicate they felt in his hand. He held onto them, as if trying to connect with her, to let her know he was there, and that he would always be there for her.

Leaning down, Ash pressed a tender kiss on May's forehead. It was a gesture of love and affection, a silent promise that he would be by her side, no matter what. He hoped somehow, his presence would reach her, even in her unconscious state. Dawn and Brock watched on, worry and concern filling them, as Ash had eaten a lot. But as the day wore on, Ash's exhaustion caught up with him. The emotional toll had drained him both mentally and physically. Unable to fight exhaustion any longer, he laid down next to May, making himself as comfortable as he could in the sterile hospital room.

With May still in his thoughts, Ash closed his eyes and eventually drifted off to sleep. Even in his slumber, he stayed close to her, their hands still intertwined, and his heart full of hope for recovery.

The next day, Ash along with Dawn, and Brock had woken up, and Ash finally ate something. He didn't eat a whole lot, but it was enough to satisfy them. Later that day, May's first visitors came: her parents and her younger brother, As the family stepped into the room, their eyes immediately fell upon May, lying motionless on the hospital bed. Her leg was still encased in a cast, and various monitors and machines were connected to her, beeping softly in the background. The sight of their daughter's and sister's pale face and seeing her in such of a way was a heartbreaking sight for the family.

Norman's eyes welled up with tears as he approached May's bedside, and his voice choked with emotion. "May, my sweet girl," he whispered, his hand trembling as he reached out to hold hers. "Why did this happen?"

Caroline, her voice trembling, added, "May, sweetie, we're here for you. We love you so much." She gently brushed a strand of hair away from May's face, fighting back her own tears. "You're going to be okay, sweetheart. We'll get through this together."

Max stood silently by his parents, his eyes wide with shock and sadness. Even though they fought a lot, Max cared deeply about his sister, and seeing her in such a vulnerable state was a difficult reality for him to bear. He clung tightly to his mother's hand, seeking comfort in her presence. Ash, still sitting in a chair beside May's bed, glanced at the Maple Family. His eyes were filled with a mixture of sympathy and guilt. He had been there when it happened and still blamed himself. He stood up and approached Norman and Caroline, his voice choked with remorse: "I'm so sorry, Mr. Maple, and It's my fault that May got hurt, I should have protected her."

Norman looked at Ash, his eyes filled with understanding. "Ash, we can't blame you for that; what matters now is that May gets better." He placed a hand on Ash's shoulder, offering a small gesture of forgiveness, although Ash didn't really need to apologize.

Caroline nodded, her voice filled with compassion. "Norman is right, Ash. Blaming yourself won't help May heal. Let's focus on supporting her recovery together."

Ash nodded, his guilt still etched on his face. "Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Maple. I promise I'll do everything I can do to help May get better."

The Maple family stayed there for awhile—well, until the next visitor arrived, as they only allowed some many visitors. The next visitor was Delia Ketchum, Ash's mother. Delia and May had grown close; in fact, May was probably one of her favorites out of all of Ash's traveling companions. They had grown close ever since May had confessed her crush on Ash to her. Delia quickly found out that May had a crush on her son; she could see it, the way she would look at him, and she would even drop hints toward him. The two even spoke over the phone quite often.

Delia entered the hospital room, her heart heavy with concern and worry for May. She glanced at Brock and Dawn, who were standing by May's side, their expressions mirroring her own sadness. As Delia approached her son, who was still sitting in a chair next to May, she noticed the deep concern etched on his face. His eyes were filled with tears, and his hand was tightly gripping May's hand, as if he was afraid to let go.

"Ash, my dear," Delia whispered, her voice laced with emotion. "I can't believe this happened to May."

Ash looked up, his gaze meeting his mother's, His voice trembled as he replied, "I know, Mom. It's all my fault. I should have protected her better." Even though earlier Norman and Caroline told him, he was still feeling guilty.

Delia's heart ached at her son's guilt-ridden words. She quickly stepped forward and enveloped Ash in a warm embrace. "Ash this isn't your fault. Accidents happen, and sometimes there's nothing we can do to prevent them. May knows that you care about her deeply, and that's what matters."

Ash clung to his mother, seeking solace in her words, He couldn't help but feel responsible for May's current condition. As Delia released Ash from their embrace, she turned her attention towards May. Her heart sank at the sight of seeing her unconscious, her leg in a cast. Delia had come to know May and had developed a special bond with her. Delia knelt down beside May's bed, placing a gentle hand on her cheek. "May, my sweet girl, please wake up. We all miss you so much."

Tears welled up in Delia's eyes as she reminisced about the joyful moments they had shared. They had become like a family. May's determination and kind spirit had touched Delia deeply. She then turned her attention back to Ash, who had been watching her every move. She spoke softly, her voice filled with reassurance: "Ash, we have to stay strong for May. She needs us more than ever."

Ash nodded, wiping away his tears. "You're right, Mom."

Delia visited for awhile until May's next visitor, and he was regretting it, It was Drew, and Drew stormed into the hospital room. His face was filled with anger and frustration, as Ash's eyes widened with surprise, while Brock and Dawn exchanged worried glances, realizing that the situation was escalating quickly.

"Hey, Drew, calm down." Brock spoke up, trying to diffuse the tension in the room: "This isn't the time of place for this."

But Drew wasn't having any of it. He ignored Brock's plea and marched straight towards Ash, his voice filled with venom. "This is all your Ketchum! If it wasn't for you, May wouldn't be in this situation right now!"

Ash's heart sank as he listened to Drew's accusations, as he was still feeling guilty. Struggling against Brock and Dawn's hold, Ash managed to break free and face Drew, his eyes filled with a mix of guilt and anger. "It was an accident, Drew," He said.

Dawn stepped forward, placing her hand on his shoulder, attempting to calm her down. "Ash, it's not your fault. Accidents happen." She said it softly, her voice filled with empathy.

Brock, sensing the situation escalating, decided to intervene again. "Drew, we understand that you're upset, but directing your anger towards Ash won't solve anything. May needs our support right now, not more conflict."

Drew knew Brock was right; even though he was still mad at Ash and still blamed him for what happened, he was going to let go for right now, for May's sake, Meanwhile, in the Hospital Lobby, Delia was in conversation with Norman and Caroline, and their concern for May was evident. Delia now had a cup of coffee in her hands, her worried eyes darting between the parents.

Norman sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "I can't believe this happened to May."

Caroline nodded "You know May has a crush on Ash?" Delia asked them.

Caroline giggled softly. "Yeah, Ash has always been oblivious when it comes to the matter of the heart. I've seen the way May looks at him, and it's clear as day, But Ash is too focused on his Pokémon Journey to notice anything else." Caroline then added, her expression sympathetic, "It must be frustrating for May, She's been by Ash's side, supporting him through thick and thin."

Delia sighed "I just hope that one day, Ash will realize May's feelings. They make such a great team, and I can see how much they care for each other. But it's up to Ash to open his eyes and see what's right in front of him."

As the parents continued to discuss May's crush on Ash, they couldn't help but feel hopeful. Perhaps one day, Ash will finally realize his feelings for May and reciprocate them. Until then, they would support both Ash and May, hoping that love would find its way into their lives.

Back with Ash and the rest of the gang, After Drew had left, they heard a knock, and Ash opened the door. He was shocked to see James, Jessie, and Mewoth. At first, Ash was hesitant to let them in, figuring it was another scheme to capture his Pikachu, but he figured that they only cared for May and just wanted to see how she was doing, so he let them in.

As James, Jessie, and Mewoth entered the room, their eyes fell upon May's prone form. Her peaceful face, now pale and bruised, tugged at their hearts. The sight took their breath away, and tears welled up in their eyes. They couldn't believe the extent of her injuries. Guilt washed over them, and they found themselves unable to speak.

Ash, sensing their genuine remorse, looked up from where he sat. His eyes met theirs, and he saw the pain and anguish mirrored in their expressions. James, Jessie, and Mewoth approached May's bedside. With trembling hands, they gently held her hand, their touch reverent. As tears streamed down their faces, They stayed there for a few moments, visited for awhile, and a little later left.

But the next person to step through the door, shocked Ash; it was his rival, Paul "What are you doing here, Paul?" Ash asked, his voice laced with suspicion.

Paul, shrugged nonchalantly, his gaze fixed on May. "I heard about what happened to May, so I thought, come and see how weak and pathetic she truly is, just like you."

It was then that Ash realized that Paul was just trying to make him angry, and he was succeeding Ash's blood boiled with anger upon hearing Paul's hurtful words. How dare he speak ill of May when she was unable to defend herself? Dawn and Brock exchanged worried glances, unsure of how to diffuse the tension in the room. Without thinking, Ash leaped from the chair and charged Paul, his fist connecting with his rival's jaw. The impact echoed throughout the room, leaving everyone stunned, but leaving Ash satisfied, knowing he got revenge on Paul.

He stood there, looking at Paul, the anger slowly vanishing, and now he felt regret, even though he felt good about it.

Paul, rubbing his jaw, seemed dazed, but still managed to give Ash a contemptuous look "You think you just come here and talk about May like that?" Ash asked, his voice dripping with anger.

Paul glared at him for a moment and then walked away. Ash watched him walk away, feeling a strange mix of emotions. He was glad he stood up for May, but he was also filled with regret. He had let his anger get the best of him, exactly what Paul wanted, and now he was feeling ashamed. He looked over to May, who was still lying in her bed. He only wanted to protect her.

The spent the rest of the day at the hospital, with Delia along with the Maple family would come in and out every now again, Misty had visited May also, as the two had grown close too, Ash spent the day right beside her, their hands intertwined, until Ash eventually feel asleep.
