Y'know I was thinking about making an Arknights version of this story, but I'm not confident about actually doing it. I am working on an Arknights story though. But, let's just get on with this interlude.

Maniacalharp747: *PTSD Intensifies*

FriendlyShadows: God, not many people talked about Iron Harvest (at least in my friend groups), but unfortunately I haven't played it yet despite my mech obsession.

TheGamingReader: Assassin's Creed you say? The Animus would be useful but since BTICS did it already, I feel like I'd be retracing BTICS. Even if I didn't like a decent amount of BTICS.

Burning Eyeball: Ask and ye shall receive! As for the rest of the cast, I'll be taking things slow as that's just how I write, and as of now, I can't give an estimate of when the rest will be showing up (Although that's mostly because I have to figure out how to Pyrrha involved in this without having to wait until Beacon).

robogamer11041: Ark is on the list. Borderlands is a maybe, not as experienced with it, but my friends are.

A thirteen year old Jaune Arc let out a small groan as one of his many sisters, Verte, dragged him by the arm to a nearby arcade. He turned to his mother, Alouette, for help but let out a low whine when she playfully shooed him away.

The entirety of the Arc family alongside Saffron and her girlfriend, Terra, had managed to find time for a short vacation to Vale despite Arctus's duties as a hunter. Jaune definitely felt it was deserved, especially since his sister's were always constantly pestering him. It wasn't like he didn't love his sisters, he did and he'd let no one tell someone otherwise, but sometimes a guy needed some relaxation.

In Ansel, he was always brought on shopping trips to carry the many bags his sisters collected or a chaperone or used as a dress up doll.

"C'mon Jaune, we're going to be late! Stop slowing us down." Verte complained but she still had an excited grin on her face.

"Yeah." Jaune chuckled nervously, "Could you let go of my arm? I think that's making me slower."

Jaune internally wondered if his sister knew that the arcades always stayed open late. But it was probably just because she wanted to get to the arcade quickly so she could stay as long as possible without his mom and dad dragging her out kicking and screaming.

"Nah," Verte shook her head, "You'll just runaway otherwise."

Eventually, much to his horror, they arrived at the loud and obnoxious arcade with all of its glorious flashing lights. Well, glorious to most teenagers. Jaune knew better, they were the heralds of his doom.

One can only play Grimm Assault: Rogue Operations so many times before it got boring.

At least Vacuo Street Racing was always fun. Although that game tended to attract the more toxic players with him having to try and stop Verte from tackling any kid who dared to insult her, with him being rewarded with an elbow to the gut most of the time.

Verte, thankfully outgrew that phase in a little under a year but still got into heated arguments. His mother would murder the two of them if she heard what Verte said when she got pissed.

"Jaune, look!" Verte pointed at one of the few games that the arcade back in Domrémy didn't have, "They have Amity Fighting Arena here!" She let out a gasp, "They even have the new champion from Mistral!"

"Who?" Jaune asked his overly excited sister.

Verte slowly turned her head to stare incredulously at Jaune who replied with a puzzled look.

"You didn't watch the finals of the Mistral Championship Tournaments?"

Jaune shook his head, "I was grounded remember?"

An amused smile spread across Verte's face, "Right. Remind me why that happened again?"

Jaune's eyes darted around to look for anything that could distract his sister before spotting a small television screen showcasing some new games that were released.

"Hey look, you think we can get that." Jaune said as he pointed to the screen.

Verte raised an eyebrow but turned around and looked at the television screen which had just turned to a different advertisement. Rather than the usual bright colors that would draw the eye, the color palate of the advertisement was more muted. It was still colorful, but the colors were darker and more realistic.

The advertisement began in what seemed to be a bulkhead or something similar. Several men and women were inside, all wearing futuristic armor. They varied in color and design but they all shared one thing, a red and white emblem of a skull with horns.

A vaguely Vacuan-looking man stood at the rear of the aircraft sharpening his knife, his white bodyarmor had clearly seen more combat than that of the other occupants. His light green eyes met each of the soldiers, approval was clearly evident in his eyes, and he nodded.

The man turned around and pulled down on a pulley, lowering the ramp and exposing the occupants to the outside world.

"Oi! This fight is what you are born for!" The Vacuan man bellowed.

The scene quickly switched to the ground and an energetic song began to play.

Jaune began to hum along and he wasn't even surprised that Verte was doing the same. She preferred songs like this while he enjoyed more casual songs, but he had to admit, the energy coming from the singer was very infectious.

To be frank, the advertisement was incredible. The scenes were shot beautifully, every movement was made in a way that was realistic. He could feel Verte's eyes staring right at him, practically begging him to try and convince mom and dad to buy it for them.

The only problem was…

"I don't know sweetie, it seems a bit violent." Their mother said, shaking her head. Her blue eyes clearly showed her inner thoughts, she did want to let them have fun but she just didn't feel comfortable with what was shown to her.

Verte had all but dragged Jaune back to the hotel they were staying at. It was a modest hotel in the middle-class area of Vale, but it was very homely. Most of their sisters were still out and about in Vale, seeing the sights or doing other various activities while their mother and father were doing some more… private activities in the sanctity of their private room.

The two of them were still madly in love after all and their bodies were still in perfect condition, no back pain or sores preventing them from doing the deed.

Jaune had thankfully managed to stop Verte before she could barge in and spared her the trauma of seeing their parents banging.

Why was it only him and Saffron who had it happen to them?

…Well actually, it was probably because Saffron took it upon herself to stop it from happening to anyone else after it happened to her. It was only when he came home early from school one day and she wasn't there to stop him that the sight was engraved into his memory.

And now they had an alliance to prevent it from happening to the rest of their siblings.

Jaune turned to his father who was still looking at the video he had played on his scroll with furrowed eyebrows.

"But mom!" Verte protested with a pout on her face, "Don't I deserve something for passing my finals?"

Jaune turned his head to the side trying to hide the slight upturn of his lips. If he remembered correctly, she barely passed her finals. The only one she aced was the P.E finals and everyone could pass those, even he could!

Verte very quickly noticed his expression despite his attempts to hide it and shot him a quick glare before innocently turning back to their mother.

Their dad stepped in, "Your mother has a fair point. At your age, you shouldn't be playing games like these. "

Jaune stayed silent and awkwardly shifted in place as Verte kept pushing, "But dad, you let us play Grimm Assault and we do plenty of fighting in that."

"You do," Their father admitted with a nod. Verte let out a triumphant grin at that statement, but his next sentence wiped it off her face completely. He held up two fingers, "However, there are two main differences. The first is that it seems to be too real." Verte tried to interrupt but their father continued, "I'm worried about what it might do to your mental state. The second is that you're not fighting Grimm in these games."

"So?" Verte asked, she narrowed her eyes, "It's just a game. It's not going to make me turn into a cold-blooded killer or something!"

Arctus stayed silent, a look of clear discomfort appeared on his face before quickly fading away into neutrality.

He turned to look at Alouette and after a brief wordless conversation, took a deep breath, "Your mother and I disapprove," Arctus had to take another deep breath at Verte's sad expression, "However," Verte's eyes lit up, "I believe you're old enough to make your own decisions and we can't stop you."

She lunged forward and wrapped him in a tight hug, "Thank you dad!"

Alouette, who had been staying silent, let out a small giggle at the cute scene. She sneakily took out her scroll and took a picture, before sending it to the rest of the family. She wasn't sure of letting Verte play the game but if it made her happy, why not?

Jaune just stood nearby and smiled.
