A series of drabbles, double drabbles, and other short writings on the family of Shawn, Jon, and Audrey.
Many thanks to Mizuka and Udaberri for encouraging me to join these color prompts.
The name Shondrey (Shawn, Jon, and Audrey) was given to this little family by the incredible Mirandabelle who also coined Jondrey, Jon and Audrey's ship name. This is quite an honor as she writes for another favorite family of mine: Tiva (Tony DiNozzo/Ziva David) and Tivali (Tony, Ziva, and Tali).
Amber: Joy, guarantee, energy, positivity, warmth, boldness, vitality.
"…the inclusions of insects, while of great interest to scientists, add little value to jewelry."
Shawn slept on the lab table.
"…has a perfectly preserved mosquito in it."
Shawn slept.
"Shawnie! Hey, Shawn!"
He lifted his head at Cory's call.
"Look! I've never seen a color like it."
Curious, he joined his friends at the front of the lab.
He stared at the insect suspended in a glob of fiery honey.
He had seen that color many times before.
A platinum blond walked his way. The sway of her hips matched the swing of her hair.
When she reached him, she made sure her milky tresses grazed his arm.
Jon declined her offer.
He preferred fire.
She was ice.
"How much longer?"
"We pick her up tomorrow."
"It's boring when she's gone."
"It'd help if you didn't mope the entire time."
Jon and Shawn sat beside each other on the rooftop of the apartment.
The sun disappeared in the distance, setting the sky on fire as it went.
Vibrant orange and yellow, a hint of brown. No red, no purples, no blues.
It was a color they had seen many times before and they couldn't wait for her to return.
