Book 1: Prodigy

Chapter 1–Daily Life

A calm breeze swept through the small village, semi calming down the raging heat that the Fire Country was known for. It was always hot during almost everyday, and it only stopped when it rained, but even then the rain was always brief and most of times barely lasted a day.

A young boy with short curly hair stopped his slow gait and looked up at the cloudless sky, holding up a hand to cover his eyes from the sun. In his Village it was hot more often than not but sometimes they'd take noticeably long breaks with fall and winter changing the climate. Back then he'd never like the changes, but here he'd welcome it.

Sure is hot. But when isn't it? He thought before sighing and continuing his slow gait. He'd done this practically everyday because his new parents were non-bending farmers that had owned a small farm in which he helped out on. His parents had noticed that he was unusually smart and unusually strong for his age, and so they had put him to work. He didn't mind it really as his father was sick with some type of illness and wasn't able to work as much as he was supposed too.

That left all the work for Shisui. And he'd been all to happy to do so. He was tired of sitting around doing nothing with his mother. She was nice and all but he was bored easily.

Speaking of bending, Shisui hadn't been able to bend fire at all. Of course he didn't know how to anyway but his parents had told him that it was a natural thing that could activate at anytime and had told him to be patient. He was still young after all.

Of course he didn't mind. He was glad that he was normal, maybe he could face less conflict now that he was. He ceased his thinking when you came across a familiar, large tree came into view. Gripping the straps of the large wooden container just as large as him, he sprinted off in the direction of the tree that contained the reddish-brown fruit.

He grinned a bit when he reached the tree and took the large container off his back and set it on the ground gently. He then unhooked the hatches placed to close it and opened it from the top. Stepping back to look at it and make sure it was opened, he nodded his head before forming a hand seal.

He felt the small amount of chakra swirling up inside of him. He had noticed that him chakra was significantly smaller than what it was when he died back in his world. He chalked it up to him becoming a child once more as one had to build the chakra that they had. But he also felt this other energy. And it overpowered his own chakra by margins. The amount that he had was actually staggering, and if he were to compare it to the chakra he used to possess than he'd say it was a lot bigger by far. Perhaps this world had there own thing, similar and different from chakra. He had theorized that one was born with the amount of this new energy that earth we than one building it up.

But there was a flaw, of course.

And that was that since his new energy overpowered his natural one, it made training with chakra almost impossible. He couldn't find the balance with the two so he knew that jutsu were out of the question until he could. Then, he didn't even know how to use this new energy so he couldn't stop it from mixing in with his chakra which threw off any control he had tried to establish. So, he did what anyone would do when they couldn't control their chakra. He trained with his control, of course! And there was no better way than some old fashion Tree Walking.

His eyes bursted open and he took off in the direction of the tree. His foot connected with side of the tree and, as practiced, stuck to it before his other foot followed the first, all before he sped up the tall tree.

He was able to keep his balance quite nicely but already felt the drain of his small reserves. This didn't compare to how it felt when he first started, however, so he was able to focus on keeping his chakra exactly even to where he could even somewhat control the leakage of his new energy by reinforcing his chakra. He leaped forward when he came across one of the branches that occupied the length of the tree. He caught it with a chakra-laced hand and used his momentum to slid underneath the branch until he was downside-up with his feet on the branch.

Right above him were the fruit he'd come to get. Smiling to himself, he easily plucked the fruit from the vegetation they grew on and without even looking threw them perfectly in the container he'd been carrying all the way on the ground. He did this over and over until his container was full and to the brim with Lychee Nuts.

Smiling at his hard work, he jumped down the tree and landed silently on the ground before rubbing away the sweat from his brows with the swipe of his arm. He then bent down and turned to place the straps onto his shoulders before hoisting the container up, barely struggling at all. The container weighed more than his own body weight at the moment but he was unnaturally strong for his age.

Looking up a the summer sky, he continued on his way.

When he arrived at his house he was greeted by ninth his mother and his father. His father had been sitting in a rocking chair on a deep red colored veranda, the Fire Nation symbol proudly shown on the top of it. He had been waiting for Shisui for a bit and stood when he saw him down the road. He was proud of the strength and maturity his son showed, as he never once complained and was very obedient. He had no doubt his son's fire bending would awaken and he would be sent off to school.

His mother was currently sweeping the veranda off whilst talking with her husband on trivial matters. When she saw her son she immediately wanted to wash him up when she saw the soot and dirt that covered him. He was like this all the time because of how much he did outside but she couldn't help but want to wash him each time he came inside. Be it for a break, to cool down, or any other reason she just had to. She wasn't a clean freak, she just didn't want her son to catch something. Not when she knew just how special he was.

Reaching his parents, he offered a greeting with a raised hand and a kind smile. "Hey mom, dad, I'm back!"

His cheery attitude had brought a smile to his mom's face. It was so contagious she felt like it could bring anyone to smile, no matter who. "And I see you're done for the day. Come on inside and wash up. Dinner will be ready when you get done."

"Good job, son. I'm proud." His father was mostly silent and strict but he could have his moments. This was definitely one of those Shisui thought as his father ruffled his hair. When he did a bunch of dust came flying out, landing on the veranda floor.

Shisui laughed sheepishly as he turned to his mother, a cold, nervous sweat running down his brow. "Ah, my bad mother. I'll get it for you."

The dark aura around his mom dissipated and she let out a soft sigh. "No matter. Sit the container down and go take a full bath. And I want it to be at least 30 minutes, not one of your 5 minute wash ups." The glare she fixed him with told him he had no room to argue. So he just gave a cute pout until a hand touched his shoulder.

"Listen to your mother. I'll finish things up here. Rest yourself, for there are things to do another day."

Shisui gave a sailor salute with a large grin. "Yes sir!" When he set the container down it dropped with a heavy thud. His parents always had an exasperated gaze when he did something unnatural for his age. He didn't know how exactly heavy the object was but he did know that someone his age wouldn't be able to pick it up. And if they did they'd struggle keeping it up.

Stretching, the Uchiha in blood only made his way into the house. He kicked off his shoes and went straight to his room, passing through the red, black, and light yellow colored living room which had the scary painting on the wall. A painting of Fire Lord Ozai with the Fire Nation Pledge beside it. He never liked the painting, especially at night when he felt as if it was watching him every time he passes it.

When inside his room he flopped on his red and brown colored bed, finally feeling the effects of being a 5 year old doing the things he did. Around his room on the wall were several paintings that consisted of wildlife, plant life and a mixture of both. He had two doors in his room, one leading to a closet where traditional, work, and casual clothes were neatly arranged. His other door led to a neat bathroom with a small bathtub at the end of the room with a sink and toilet side by side before it. The sink was modestly big and the entire room was the same color as the house. It was different from his room in the Leaf Village but not unwelcome. It was nice to have a change of pace, after all. Well, to him anyway.

He was about to drift off when he heard his mother's voice. "You'd better be getting ready to bath, young man!"

He groaned lightly, trying to get rid of the drowsiness he felt. "Yes Mother!" He yelled back, sliding out of the bed while a groan stretched from his vocal cords. Maybe if he just took a bath really quickly he could get back in the bed and lay down.

"And no short baths! If you do, I'll come in to wash you myself!"

"Yea Mother!" He yelled back with a small huff walking to grab some clean clothes.

Pretty short chapter, I know but it needed to be that way. Next chapter will be a lot longer because of what I'm going to do with it. I have ideas on how I want Shisui to get his old abilities but that probably won't be until book 2, or even 3.

Speaking of that, this book might have 3 or 4 depending on what happens since each one will have 20 chapters in each book.
