Disclaimer: I don't own Supergirl or the characters. This is written purely for fun.
A/N: I am making a few assumptions about how the last season will end and this is mainly (apart from the first few paragraphs) set a few years after the final season. Not everyone will be in it, for reasons that are explained as the story progresses. There will be some action, but it is mainly focused on the sisters.
"Talk to me." Supergirl said as she looked at the device.
"You have two minutes before that changes the US for ever." Alex said over the radio.
"What about blowing it up before it detonates?" Supergirl asked.
"That would still cause it to explode and release every megaton it stores." Lena said.
"How about flying it into space?" Supergirl tried.
"It would take out every satellite. Best case, thousands will die as the large debris hit the Earth and we plunge this country trillions further into debt, worse case China or Russia think we did it deliberately and start a nuclear war." Alex said.
"There is one way to stop it." Lex said from behind Alex where he was chained to a table.
"What?" Alex asked turning.
"Technically there are two ways. The first is I give you the code. But that isn't happening. So that leaves option two."
"Which is?" Alex asked, knowing she wouldn't like the answer.
"You just need to absorb it." Lex said.
"Even the best nuclear bunker can't absorb that much energy. And seeing the best ones are built deep in the ground the explosion would cause Earthquakes and countless deaths." Lena said.
"Unless you can absorb a little more energy. And you have a super absorber out there now." Lex pointed out.
"Go to hell." Alex said.
"What is he talking about?" Supergirl asked.
"You. Your body could absorb some of the energy. It might be enough to prevent further deaths." Lena explained.
"Okay, where should I take the bomb? Where's the bunker?"
"It will kill you." Alex said.
"You figure out plan B while I fly it there." Supergirl said. "We don't have time to argue. Where should I go?"
"Camp Howard." Alex said.
The instruction causing Lex to draw breath in an exaggerated way.
"What?" Lena asked.
"Wrong choice. You need Hills Fort."
"Why are you helping us?" Lena asked.
"I want Supergirl dead, not me." Lex shrugged.
"If she dies you die." Alex snarled.
"I'm heading there now." Supergirl said. "Make sure everyone else has evacuated."
"Kara, when you get there you need to go down twenty floors. But do not crash through the floors. You need the whole bunker in tact." Lena said.
"So use the stairs?" Supergirl asked.
"Use the stairs." Lena agreed before going on. "The most shielded room is in the middle of the bottom floor."
"When you get there leave it there and get out." Alex pleaded.
"Then people will die." Lex said.
"Shut up." Alex snapped.
"If I wrap my body round it in the bunker can I save any one?" Supergirl asked.
"It is possible. Your body should be able to absorb over 50 billion joules per second. That would reduce the yield of the device enough to be contained in the bunker." Brainy said.
"But it will kill you." Alex said.
"Even if I only end up saving one person it's worth it." Supergirl argued.
"I'm glad I haven't eaten, that line would have made me vomit if I had." Lex said.
"Twenty three seconds." Lena said.
"I'm here." Supergirl said rushing to the core of the bunker.
"I'm serious, put it there and get out. You still have time." Alex said.
"I can't do that." Supergirl said ensuring the door shut behind her. She then wrapped herself round the device and said. "Alex, make sure you do all the things you dreamed of. None of this is your fault." Then the link went dead.

-Eighteen years later
As Eliza stepped onto the driveway to greet the new comers she had a strange feeling of being watched. Looking round but seeing nothing she shook it off and walked towards the car.
"Hey grandma." A teenage boy said as he got out of the car before reluctantly accepting a hug from Eliza.
"MJ! How is my favourite grandson?" She asked.
"I'm fine." He smiled.
"You've grown again." Eliza commented as she stepped back.
"You say that every time." He replied.
"Well it's true." Eliza smiled as the boy stepped back and started to grab some bags from the car only to be replaced in Eliza's arms by an older teenage girl.
"Grandma." She said as she hugged Eliza. Picking up on a tension Eliza pulled away and asked. "Have you being arguing with your mom again?"
"It's kind of our thing." She shrugged before following her brother inside.
"Sweetie." Eliza said hugging Alex.
"Hey mom." Alex said wearily.
"You look like you need some coffee."
"That doesn't even start to describe what I need." Alex complained into the hug as Eliza once again felt eyes watching her. "You okay?" Alex asked pulling away.
"I'm fine." Eliza said shaking off the feeling again. "Let's go inside."
Nodding Alex followed her mother inside only to hear her youngest ask.
"Where's the tree?"
"I was hoping you could help me get it." Eliza said.
"Really?" The boy asked.
"Really." Eliza smiled. "We can go as soon as you are ready."
"I'm ready." He said.
"Why don't you carry the bags up first?" Eliza suggested before watching him tear off upstairs.
"Are you coming?" Eliza asked Alex before noticing she was staring at a photo. "Alex?" She called again.
"Sorry?" Alex asked, putting the photo down.
"We're going to get the tree. Do you want to come?" Eliza asked.
"Sure." Alex said. "I'll just grab my co-" She said turning to see her son holding out her jacket.
"Let's go." She said taking the jacket from him.
As they pulled out of the drive the older teenager stared out of the window and was sure she saw someone watching.

"This is getting heavy." The teenage boy complained as the three females stood round him and the tree in the lounge trying to get him to line it up straight.
"A little more to the left." Alex said.
"Your other left." Alex's daughter chipped in when she saw the tree go the wrong way.
"How's that?" MJ asked.
"Perfect." Eliza said.
"Finally." MJ replied received.
"Actually you need to move it to the right." His sister said. When she saw his fallen face though she added. "Just kidding."
"So not funny." MJ muttered.
"Was a little." His sister grinned as her phone buzzed.
"What are you doing?" Alex asked her daughter.
"Reading my mail."
"We agreed no mail today."
"No, you dictated." Her daughter shot back.
"Even more reason to obey. Give me your phone."
"But-"
"Now." Alex demanded.
"Why can't you ever give me a break?" The older teenager shouted before slamming her phone on the table and storming out of the house.
"Was I ever that bad?" Alex asked looking worn down.
"No." Eliza assured her. "You were so much worse."
"Challenge accepted." MJ said earning an eyeroll from his mother.
"It will be okay, just give her time to cool off. It always worked for you." Eliza said as she stood up.
"Where are you going?" Alex asked confused.
"Seeing the decoration is on hold, I am going to buy some more groceries. This is my one chance to get healthy food into the kids." Eliza pointed out.
"Do you want me to go?" Alex offered.
"No Sweetie, I actually want real food, not tinned and canned." Eliza pointed out before leaving.
"Are you going to go after her?" MJ asked.
"Your sister? No. Mom was right she needs space."
"So you aren't doing anything now?" He asked sounding hopeful.
"No."
"So we can go surfing?" He asked.
"We?"
"Please?" MJ asked.
"It's freezing out there." Alex pointed.
"Technically it isn't. Just cold. You never used to let that stop you. Besides wouldn't it be safer if you where there with me?"
"Fine." Alex agreed. "Just let me send an email and I will be right with you."
"Really?" He asked doubtfully.
"Really." Alex said. "Four minutes tops."

As the teenager stormed along the beach she saw the same hooded figure she had seen earlier sitting on some rocks. This time the figure was sitting staring at something they were holding, although the teenager couldn't figure out what it was. For a moment she thought about heading back to the house, but then her curiosity got the better of her and she instead watched the figure for awhile. After awhile the figure looked up at the sky, revealing their face.
Knowing that she recognised the figure, the teenager jogged over to the woman before she stopped in front of her and said.
"You're my aunt Kara aren't you?"
"Sorry?" The woman asked looking over at her.
"You're my aunt Kara." The teenager said.
"I don't know what you're talking about." The woman said as her hand squeezed shut round the small object.
"Sure you don't." The teenager said with more than a hint of sarcasm. "I have seen enough photos of you to know it is you. You're my aunt. The same aunt who is meant to be dead. The same one who is an alien and has cool powers."
"Alex told you that?" The woman asked surprised.
"So that's confirmation?" The teenager asked triumphantly.
"No." The woman said but as the teenager started at her she added. "Fine yes, I'm Kara. Which I guess makes me your aunt."
"My alien aunt?" The teenager pressed.
"Yes." Kara confirmed.
"Sweet. I knew you were really Supergirl."
"Wait, Alex didn't tell you?" Kara asked getting confused.
"No. She doesn't tell me anything. But it wasn't hard to figure out. I mean you and Supergirl look identical. Glasses are a stupid disguise."
"You'd be surprised how well they worked." Kara said.
"Plus you two disappeared at the same time. And there are loads of videos of Supergirl saving mom. Like I said it wasn't hard to figure out. But why does everyone, including mom and grandma, think you are dead?"
"Long story." Kara said.
"Doesn't look like you are doing anything important. So you might as well tell me." She said sitting next to Kara.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Kara said.
"Okay, well why are you sitting here?" The girl asked.
"Debating my options."
"You couldn't do that in the house?"
"I'm not sure your mom will want to see me."
"Why?"
"If people find out I am back it might put all of you in danger."
"I've already found you." The girl pointed out. "Mom will want to see you."
"You don't know that."
"Yes I do. Every time we come here she spends an unhealthy amount of time looking at pictures. Besides I need a distraction and you'd be perfect."
"Distraction from what?"
"Me. If Mom has something else to worry about she won't yell at me."
"What have you done?" Kara asked.
"Nothing."
"Alex yells at you for no reason?" Kara asked suspiciously.
"Sure feels that way." The girl said. "So will you come back to the house?"
"I really don't think that is a good idea."
"If you don't I will just tell mom and grandma you are here and then they are both going to get really stressed looking for you." The girl said.
"You are quite the negotiator." Kara replied.
"So is that a yes?"
"It's a yes." Kara agreed. "But I still think it is a mistake."
"It's not." The girl said standing.
"So are you going to tell me your name?"
"It's Kara." The teenager said. "Mom named me after you."
