Twins missing in Dual worlds chapter 13:

"What are we doing today?" Polly asked.

"Same thing we do every day, Polly, try to take over the world," Mabel answered.

Polly laughed, "Seriously, what's the plan."

"I was looking in my bag and noticed I brought magazines!"

"What is a magazine?" Polly asked.

Mabel pulled one out and placed it on the table. "Tada!"

"So it's a tiny book with the cover taken off?" Poly picked one up to read. She noticed every article was only about one thing, "BORING! This is all about dating."

"No way! I live and breathe dating. Leave and breathe it." Mable said, getting scary at the second part.

"Are all humans like this?"

"No, no one is like me."

"Good, I could never deal with two of you." This got Mabel amused. Honestly, Polly didn't care for the magazine, while Mabel was overly invested in it. "Mabel, are you okay?" By even Mabel standards, her reaction was unreasonable.

"Oh, I just miss playing matchmaker." Mable thought she had been getting good at it when she was in Gravity Falls and when she tried it with the Marcanne ship at Saint James, but now she was here.

"Matchmaker?" Polly questioned.

"I liked setting people up on dates," Mable answered.

"You better not do that to me, bachelorette, for life." She said.

"Oh, come on, it would be soooooo much fun! And I'm booooored!"

"Can't you do that with Sprig?" Polly was happy to throw her brother under the bus to save herself.

"Oooooh, I could do matchmaking for him first!"

"Yeah, you go do that. Crazy kid."

"Now with whoooooo…" She didn't know many frogs their age, so that meant this would be a challenge. She would have to look over every frog and other creature in Amphibia, both male and female, to find a perfect match for Sprig.

"Ivy?" Polly asked.

"New name!" Mable was excited. "Tell me alllllll about her!"

"Well, she is a girl that likes to ambush Sprig."

"She must be in love with him!" Mable decided after checking her magazine for the behavior.

"Or Sprig's easy to win against." Ivy did have a pretty good record against him.

"Trust me. I'm a professional."

"People pay you for this? Why?" Polly was thinking that if all humans were just crazy, that might be the case.

"I have a wonderful track record."

"Did any money swap hands?" Since that was what professional actually meant.

"I use plausible deniability!" Polly translates that to mean, I pickpocket the suckers.

"Whatever you say, crazy lady."

Mabel picked her up. "To Ivy!"

"Yeah, to Ivy."

"Where does she live?" Mabel needed direction.

"She is with her mom at the tea shop."

"Oooh, we can get tea!" Mable ran out.

"Sure, why not," Polly said lazily.

Mabel arrived and went inside. She figured she'd start by stalking -observing. The girl she assumed was Ivy seemed to be trying to walk out of the tea shop, only for her mother to use her hair to gently 'guide' her back to work.

"Hi, Ivy!" Mabel said, going straight towards the frog girl. Her skin was yellow. She had an orange circle making it looks like she had a permanent blush. She had orange hair sticking out from under her hat. The hat itself looked like a sea green beanie. She was wearing a cyan tee shirt and some skirt overall fusion in the color of dark blue jeans. She was a little shorter than Mabel herself.

"You're that human. You're bigger in person." She's heard about her a bit.

"And Polly said you're Ivy."

"Yes, that is my name." She said, "Can... I help you?"

"I want to know more about you." Mable was being as friendly as she could.

"Okay, what do you want to know?" Ivy thought she was crazy.

"Got any friends?"

"Your housemate, Sprig."

"Ya, he's great, isn't he?" Always a good idea to put extra jam on the bread, so to speak.

"He is. Most people seem to give up after the first dozen ambushes, but not him." He praises.

"Oh, not him. He never surrendered."

"He is a good playmate, although kinda hard to find time with work getting in the way."

"That's tooooo bad," Mabel said. Ivy was falling for her trap.

"Tell me about it hooman." She mispronounced the term.

"Maybe you two could set up times to meet up?" Mabel said she was great at this and knew that Sprig had nothing better to do.

"Why, we can meet up on our own?"

"Did I hear set up?" The taller person frog said. She had long red hair braid going down to the frog's ankles, and she had a crown of flowers. She had a green shirt over the upper part of her body, and her skirt was a darker shade of green.

"Hello, ma'am!" Mabel said.

"Your that human thing we saw around."

"That's meeee!"

"Isn't she the one you pushed to the other side of the street when you saw her coming?" Ivy said, being honestly too honest.

"Ivy, remember that talk we have about being too honest?"

"Wait, what?" Mabel, that was her.

"You came about setting something up, dear." The older frog said, trying to change the subject.

"Yes. Ivy. And Sprig. Together girlfriend and boyfriend." She said, thinking she was speaking clearly and sanely.

"The young Plantar boy, he seems pretty energetic."

"And he's a very hard worker!" Mable hyped him up.

"Hey, when you go home, can you bring Hoppopidian my way? We can talk about their schedule." The tea shop owner said, already thinking over the schedule.

"I'll do that!" Mable promised.

"Thanks. I think he and my little crumpet could get along." She said, ruffling Ivy's hair.

"Mom, you're embarrassing me." The young frog wined.

"I'll go tell Hop Pop the good news." She said, heading off as Felicia waved.

Mabel happily skipped back. Sprig aimed his mud ball with a slingshot at a dumb crow. "Hey, pinkie!" Mabel said.

"Yes, Peachy?" He replied, aiming without looking and missing horribly.

"I got you a date with Ivy!"

"I don't think she likes me like that." Sprig said.

"Oh, of course, she does. Trust me!" Mabel confidently said.

"I'm not even sure if I am old enough to date."

Hop Pop walks in, only hearing part of the conversation, "We don't even grow dates."

"Oh, Hop Pop! Ivy's mom wants to talk to you!"

"Wait, the Sundew?" They were way up the social totem pole than the Planters. A meeting with them could do well.

"That's the one."

"Wonder what they are talking about?"

"Well, then get there." She watched as Hop Pop left to do that very thing.

"Guys, guys, me and Ivy are just friends." Sprig wondered why his roommate did not want to listen.

"Hush, Sprig, we got this," Mabel assured them.

"This is going to be bad."

"This is gonna be great!"

"Why are the clouds so dark outside?" He asked, looking out the window.

The next day:

Mabel was trying to find an outfit for Sprig. "Why am I wearing this uncomfortable outfit."

"Attraction. I asked hop pop about it." Mabel said.

Hop Pop walked into the room, "Remember, as long as your wearing the ceremonial garb and perform the ceremonial dance."

"I don't even think Ivy would want to date me, much less marry me."

"Why not?" Mable asked.

"She didn't mention it even once." Not like she had a book to try to convince him.

Mabel took out a magazine. "Girls never say it silly."

"What is this, a book without a hardcover?"

"It's a guide to dating. Read and memorize!" She ordered.

"I guess. Wouldn't it be faster if you told me?" Sprig asked.

"Trust me. You'll love it!" Mabel believed it.

"No way Ivy would agree with it."

"She doesn't have a choice." Mabel felt this was good.

"This sounds like coercion." Polly pointed out.

"That's love for ya."

"I am not sure." Polly wasn't being swayed by Mabel.

Mabel only watched Sprig read, not caring for what her bestie had to say.

It took a minute longer than she expected. Sprig was a slow reader, but he managed. "I guess that makes sense."

"See what I mean?"

"If this is what she wants, I guess we can make it work."

"You better. The Sundews have a secret, proprietary crop. We could really use those." Hop Pop butted in the conversation.

"Wait, what?" Mable asked. Is that why he was so supportive.

"Just a little grown-up talk, Mabel," He said, not wanting to confuse her.

"Okay!"

"Now, help me with Sprig's makeup."

"Eeeeeeeee!" She was excited to do so.

Sprig wanted to escape, "Help meeee."

"I am silly," Mabel said. Polly was worried about how this was going.

"You'll thank me when you and Ivy get married. Maybe I can visit you for it." She said. If Grunkle Ford could find a way to make, it work.

"If you say so." Sprig just trusted her judgment.

"Oh, you." She figured he just had cold feet.

"I created a monster." Polly should have thrown those books back from where they came.

"What was that, Polly?" Mabel said with a smile.

"I have the feeling this isn't what Sprig wants."

"What, of course, he does!" She glared at the older people until it was time for the dance. Mabel bounced in excitement. Ivy was also dressed in a silly outfit and feeling off. "Hello there, Ivy."

"Hey there, Sprig. I, umm, didn't know you liked me like this."

"Yeah, apparently, all dates have a fifth of souls." He said, trying to do the dance.

"Oh ya?" She awkwardly danced too. "This outfit is so uncomfortable."

"Apparently, that is what love is supposed to feel like."

"This not good."

"It's not like we have a choice."

"I guess not."

"So your family has a courting outfit as well."

"Well, they're miserable," Polly said as she and the rest of the planters and Sundew were out of earshot.

"What you talking about?"

"look at them." she gestured to her brother and his friend.

"I'm sure it is fine, Polly."

"Ya!"

"Well, I happen to think it going quite well," Felica said.

"They'll be so happy!" Mabel assured them. Polly was rubbing her temples. "You tired, Polly?" Mabel asked.

"You have no idea."

"I can bring you home."

"No, I have the feeling I have to be here." Meanwhile, on the stage, Duckweed was saying something on the microphone.

"Excuse me, everybody, but I hear we have a couple of love doves here tonight. Sprig Planter and Ivy Sundew. Everyone gives them a big hand. Come on, clap, clap. Felicia Sundew would like Ivy to 'have a great courtship. Wink.' It says 'wink' here. 'Love, Mom.' And Hopadiah Plantar says, 'Sprig, don't mess this up for us." All right, then. Hit it, boys!"

"This is so humiliating."

"Big time..." Ivy agreed.

"Listen, Ivy, you're a great friend, but I don't think I like you like that."

"Oh, thank goodness. I only went along with this so I wouldn't hurt your feelings."

"It's cool. I only did it because Mabel and my family thought it was a good idea."

"Then let's bolt!"

"First, let's find somewhere to change. I can barely walk in this thing." Sprig declare.

"Me neither."

"You're also wearing your clothes under your outfit?"

"Of course. I was planning on changing as soon as I was freed from the dance."

"I am just thankful it is so much bigger than what I need."

"You know it, Sprig."

"Come before they realize we book it." She ran off with him.

"Where did they go?" Ivy's mother asked.

"On a secret date?" Mabel concluded.

"They are going to ruin everything." Hop Pop bellow.

"Or we could let them make their own choices," Polly said, annoyed.

"Nay." Hop Pop dismissed.

Felicia thinking she knew better, "Nonsense."

"Let's find them." Mabel enabled. They all leap to find them. Ivy and sprig were catching bugs. There was a large flapping noise heard by the rest of their families. Ivy and Sprig heard screaming.

"Was that my mom?" Ivy was worried.

"I don't know, but either way, we have to go and find out."

"Let's run!" They ran towards the danger.

In the nest:

The lot of them were panicking. "How did we end up here?" Polly asked.

"We were looking for sprig and Ivy," Mabel explained.

"Ahh," Polly yelled as the love birds flew around them.

"Help us, help us!" Mabel yelled. "Why aren't they eating us now?" She asked.

"Not yet, Love doves prefer to let their prey marinate in fear first." Hop Pop said, trying to escape from the branches holding them down.

"Can it, Plantar. This is all your fault. If you bother to take time to teach your grandson proper court~."

"My fault. It's your fault." He blamed her back.

"Stop blaming one another!" Mabel shouted, playing peacekeeper.

"This is all your guy's fault." Polly accused.

Mabel got indignant at this, "Excuse you?"

"Hey, the only reason we're here marinating is because you all had to play matchmaker. You two were greedy, plain and simple!"

"It is nuanced," Felicia said.

"Fair point." Hop Pop said.

"And you keep sticking your nose in someone else business, Mabel!" Polly stated.

"Rude!" Polly glared. She wasn't wrong here. "I do this allll the time! One time I…" Mabel got interrupted.

"You were wrong then too."

"What do you mean? I made them happier!"

"You put them in a ridiculous outfit and force them to do something they didn't want to do."

"Ya, what of it?" Mabel said, failing to learn.

"You didn't think that was wrong?"

"Why would I? Everyone was happy in the end." Mabel used that to reason.

"What if you're wrong?"

"Wouldn't they tell me?"

"YOU WOULDN'T LISTEN!" Polly blurt out.

"...Woah? I... I don't listen?" This was a surprise to half of the mystery twins.

"Not in this case." Polly decided to stand her ground, so to speak.

"But I'm the nice one!" That was what Mable always thought.

"Then act like it," Polly ordered.

"I'm not?"

"Did you think of asking if Sprig ACTUALLY wanted this?"

"No?" Mabel questioned.

"You see."

"Ohhhh." Sprig and Ivy show up after they heard their begs for help.

"We have to help them," Ivy said. "Sprig? Sprig?"

"AMBUSH!" He yelled out, jumping high and shooting the Love Dove with some mud from his slingshot.

"Great plan." Ivy rushed to him to help. They leaped around until the Love Dove's heads got tangled in a knot and had their heads knocked together. One of the birds fainted, and the other freaked out and flew away.

"Quickly save us while the lover mourns for their lost love." Hop Pop yelled. Sprig and Ivy worked together to release them. They all rushed to the safety of the ground.

"Let's get out of here!" Mabel declared. Felicia Sundew agreed with the human. They all ran back to the village.

"Listen, Ivy and I just want to say tell you we don't want to date each other, and we never will."

"Yeah, Polly set us straight." hop Pop said, and Felica and Mabel agr

eed.

"I'm sorry." Mabel rubbed the back of her head in embarrassment.

"It okay, and Sprig, forgive ya."

"Thank you, guys," Mabel said.

"Your fun. I'll have to keep an eye out for you." Ivy said as she walked away.

Mabel saw Sprig blush. "Are you kidding me? Well, at least I can get Hop Pop to help me with my first journal entry." She said, grumbling.

To be continue…

RonaldM40196867 chapter 12 . Jul 8

Hooray for Girls night.

Do you think Gravity Falls needs a reboot?

Will there be science?

Pumpkiboo resposne: Not a reboot but a continuation

My response: That is fun, no why would I ever think that? I rather a comic continuation. What do you mean by that?
