Ghira and Kali walked through the commercial district, marveling at the state of it all. Nearly everywhere they went, there was a state of normality within the place and it made them almost forget that there was a war going on in the mainland. They walked on the sidewalk in one of the streets and looked to see a truck come by and pick up some bags full of trash before moving onto its next stop.

As they continued to make their way around the district, they couldn't help but notice how nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary when it came to this place. It felt different from visiting Atlas. The snow kingdom was cold, rigid in structure, and people seemed to either hate living there or were extremely cynical. Here it was warm, flexible, and the people here seemed to actually look forward for the next day.

The only thing that was out of the ordinary was the amount of skulls. Nearly every single thing had a skull icon on it; coffee cups, restaurant logos, shirts, scroll cases, even a baby pacifier. It was extremely morbid in their opinion but they kept their mouths shut. They had this weird obsession with skulls and when they asked a random person, they were given the answer that death was constantly surrounding them.

Despite their relatively safe location, the skulls were a constant reminder that death would eventually claim them all one day. Not to mention some just personally liked the appearance of it.

Kali stopped and went up to the window of a café and looked inside with glee when she spotted baked goods in the display case near the cashier. There were a few people inside enjoying their beverages and she looked at Ghira. He sighed a bit before nodding and walking inside with her. Her humming drew the attention of the cashier, who greeted them politely, and she tapped her chin as she read the menu.

After selecting a few muffins and other items, Ghira went to go pay for it all, only to be stopped. The cashier told them that whatever they had ordered was paid in advance and they had an idea as to who did it. After accepting the food and beverages, they went to a booth in the corner and started to enjoy their treats.

"Mmm~" Kali sighed pleasantly as she chewed on the cinnamon roll. It's been so long since she's had something like this and she wanted to enjoy it.

"I take it that it's good?" Ghira asked.

"You have no idea. As much as I like the food back home, stuff like this is to die for." She answered.

"I think you're being a bit dramatic, dear." He laughed a bit.

They perked up when the bell above the door jingled. It drew a few eyes but the patrons went back to their business while the person looked around before spotting them and making his way over to their booth. His steps were fairly quiet despite his heavy combat boots being worn.

Walker slid into the opposite seat in the booth and greeted them with a nod. They gave one in return and silence seemed to plague them before his gaze shifted to the plate of treats that Kali had grabbed. She seemed to notice his gaze and covered her mouth in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, I should have waited." She apologized.

"It's fine. It's better that someone eats them than they go to waste." Walker said as he tapped the surface of the table with an index finger. To his right was a folder and he set it on the table before sliding it to his left. He clasped his hands together and looked at them.

"Business already?" Ghira asked.

"Unfortunately." Walker nodded as he slid the folder over to them and leaned back in his seat. The other two just looked at it and Ghira had to bring out his reading glasses to read a few things. One thing that peaked his interest was the fact that Walker requested for more to be built in Menagerie, mainly a place to forge more weapons and equipment for the war effort.

When others looked at Menagerie, they saw an uninhabitable location for a majority of the continent. Walker was different... he saw a place filled with resources that would aid the war effort. However, he wasn't about to forcefully seize the resources like so many leaders and kingdoms have done in the past. Despite the Gears having a stockpile of resources, it was only a matter of time before those resources dwindled and the demand increased.

"This base... why have it out so far out?" Ghira asked as he looked at the location. It was further away from Kuo Kuana, and in the middle of the inhospitable desert.

"Multiple reasons. Expansion, resources, manufacturing, and some other things I wish to discuss." Walker answered, nodding at the waitress when she slid a mug of tea in front of him.

"What is your definition of expansion?" Ghira asked cautiously. Whenever he heard that word, it would always cause an unknown feeling to bubble inside of him.

"It's no secret that Kuo Kuana is starting to get overcrowded, Mr. Belladonna. How long will it be before there's too many mouths to feed and not enough space?" Walker asked as he stirred some sugar into his drink.

"..." Ghira's expression dropped a bit and he rubbed his beard a few times. Even Kali's expression shifted a bit and she looked away, her appetite slowly fading. It was no secret that Kuo Kuana has more people than it normally has and they have been facing a bit of issue of how to care for so many people. The evaucation of Vale came so suddenly that they barely had time to prepare and there was only so much that the Gears settlement in the continent could hold.

"What about expanding Kuo Kuana? We know you want to expand on this place, but-" Kali rubbed her hands together.

"There's a section pertaining to the agreement." Walker gestured and the other two looked at the documents. It took a few minutes but they eventually found the section he was referring to.

It stated that if he was allowed to build upon Menagerie, then the Gears would expand upon Kuo Kuana and even into territory they never considered. There was a picture illustrating how much territory they would acquire. It would take a while, but they would eventually get there and there was even another part that stated living conditions would be improved. Houses would be constructed of durable materials, roads were going to be build for better transportation, and multiple buildings were going to be opened up.

More businesses would allow for more people to strive for better opportunities, which meant more products for both civilian and military use would be available. The real kicker was that Walker was going to relinquish control of the civilian aspect to Ghira, and even some of the military as well if need be. In other words, Walker was willing to allow Menagerie to have their own equipment to use at their leisure and produce their own goods.

The only thing they had no control over was most of the military or anything that the Gears possessed. The latter was willing to trade, but Ghira nor Kali had any control over what the Gears produced or used. If the Gears wanted something from Menagerie, they'd purchase it.

Of course, there were a few kinks in it, but that came with everything.

The three of them talked with one another about trading, some things they didn't agree on, while others they did. One thing they didn't necessarily agree on was the use of manpower over robots to fight the war. However, they quickly shut their mouths when the remembered who they were talking to. The only person around that knew the Locust better than anyone else. He knew how they operated, what they were like, even adopting some of their more ruthless ambush tactics and turning it against them.

Walker was a person that seemed capable of building an empire if he was able to. He was smart, but not all-knowing. Strong, but wasn't as strong as some others. The one thing that made him the most dangerous person in the room was his iron will and belligerent approach to things, as well as his flexibility. Where others would break, Walker would bend and bounce right back.

He also had a way with words, something he picked up from countless people. Despite it all though, Ghira and Kali could see that he was a good man deep down. Whenever he did something, he would try to make sure it benefited both parties in the long run. His choices always had weight to them and some were risky, but they paid off in the end. His honesty was another redeeming quality of his, and he always said what was on his mind.

What they noticed while talking to him now was how much he seemed to carry on his shoulders. Blake always talked about how he worked himself to collapse, and despite him only being a year older than her, he was one of the key players in the war and often seemed older than what he was. It always seemed to shock people when he told them his age. While others in their twenties were worried about partying and chasing the fast life; he was figuring out how to make sure humanity didn't fall victim to a race of genocidal abominations.

"Are you two alright?" Walker asked.

"I'm sorry. I was spacing out a bit." Ghira apologized and waved his hand.

"Same." Kali said. She was a little embarrassed she was acting so airheaded at the moment.

"That's alright. We have been talking for a few hours." Walker said as he collected the documents and slid them in the folder. This news would be made public knowledge in time so he wasn't too worried about it. It was why he chose the café to be their meeting place rather than the conference room in the Command Building.

"Does Blake know about this?" Ghira asked.

"She was one of the people to to tell me more about it all and convinced me to open the doors for trading. On an unrelated note, we'll discuss more about this another time but I have to pick Amiya up from daycare." Walker said as he sipped the last of his tea and set the cup down.

"We understand." Ghira nodded and Walker stood up after shaking their hands.

"Can we get some of these to go?" Kali asked hopefully as she gestured towards the display case full of treats.

"Sure." Walker nodded and turned around to walk out the door. He missed the delighted look on her face as she went up to the counter and ordered some more.

Normally, she wasn't a glutton but it's been too long since she's had such sweet food that didn't consist of fruit. Whenever Blake stopped by Menagerie, she would always bring something and Kali had been craving it ever since. It was no wonder people around the area seemed to always look so cheerful on sunny days such as these.

Ghira could only sigh at his wife's antics before looking at his scroll. As uncomfortable as he was about the resources being taken on Menagerie, he was glad it was from a group like the Gears rather than the SDC or any other company. He also wasn't a stranger as to what else Walker wanted in exchange for helping expand Kuo Kuana and establishing a safe trade route.

However, they'd cross that bridge when it came. Neither men were willing to cross one another, because too much was at stake. While Walker necessarily didn't need to worry about resources at the moment since they had an entire platform dedicated to them, it was better to get this out of the way before it was too late.

Walker stood on the catwalk of one of the training halls, watching some Gears train. He saw some that were younger than others and watched as their mentors taught them the lessons they've learned throughout their time in the Gears and during the war. Something they had adopted when they saw him practically become Jessica's mentor and when he assigned Bowman to deal with Kilo Squad.

When the recruits were finished with training, they'd be assigned to squads that had similar or different personalities and would often clash. While it may have seemed like a disastrous thing at the time, a more experienced Gear would be there to be the mentor to that group.

The younger Gears were often brash and hot-blooded, eager to prove themselves in battle when the opportunity presents itself. They would do everything in their power to gain the attention of Walker and his more trusted Gears. Some even sought to become the honored Onyx Guards, seeing them as heroes. He understood why though.

Onyx Guards were seen as the most experienced Gears, donning the best armor and weapons that the Gears possessed. Some saw the terrifying power the more advanced weapons held and the newer Gears wanted a chance to come close to these things and eventually use it themselves. However, that required them to learn the art of war and come to the realization that not everything was like the stories some told.

The tools of war weren't toys meant to be played with, they were meant to destroy their enemies whether they be Locust, Glowies, or something else. All it took was one or two battles with the Locust or whatever horrors lurked in the world to shape them up. They'd fall down and it was up to the elders to catch them in the net and show them the ropes when it came to battle.

That didn't mean Walker wasn't going to show them the basics first. He knew all to well how people came into basic thinking they'd be heroes and come out as disciplined Gears when they finished, eventually being transferred to a unit or find themselves taken under the wing of a seasoned Gear.

He was snapped out of his thoughts when a Gear approached him, whispering in the area his ear was located and handing him a tablet. The tapping of the tablet was quiet and he scrolled through several pages before nodding and handing the device back to the Gear. They left and he was alone once more, observing the Gears train and leaned forward a bit when he saw one or two who seemed to learn faster than the others.

After a while, he left the room and began to make his way through the building, observing various facilities inside then leaving. The ones that were slacking off quickly shaped up when they spotted him. He would leave without a word then continue to make his way across the large building, observing then departing shortly after. He repeated this process several times before heading outside and shielding his eyes from the sun.

His C-Droid pinged and he brought it out before clicking the side of it, watching as the holographic screen turned on. There were a few notifications and he looked at each one of them before stashing the device away. His mind wandered as he went around Mother Base and checked on everything. From the weapons and armor that were being maintained in the Forge, to the equipment and possible future equipment in the R&D Platform, to even any updates in the Intelligence Platform.

After a while, he drove to the daycare to pick up Amiya, preparing his playlist for her and pulling into the parking lot after driving for half an hour. He put his code in for the building and signed in before walking to the room, knocking on the door and peeking inside. Since he was earlier than usual, he saw that it was nap time and looked around the room before spotting her on the right side.

He talked with the teacher a bit before grabbing Amiya's belongings out of her cubby hole and quietly walking over to her. She barely reacted when he gently picked her up and put her head on his shoulder, carrying her little bookbag in his left hand. The door was opened for him and he thanked the teacher before walking to the lobby area and signing out. He stepped onto the mat and waited for the automatic doors to open before walking out to the parking lot.

The driver's side backseat door was opened and he carefully put her in her car seat. Her eyes momentarily opened before they closed again and her head slumped to the side.

They took off not long after he made sure she was secure and turned on the music to keep her asleep. He rested his head on his left hand while his right was on the steering wheel. It was nice in his opinion, to have something somewhat akin to a normal life, but he knew that the ugly head of war would come out sooner or later. Sometimes he wished he wasn't like this; it wasn't healthy to always constantly be thinking about war, but that was how he was.

He honestly didn't know if he was able to live a normal life after fighting the Locust for so long. Countless battles and seeing numerous people die had made him jaded in certain things, others would be forever put down but he eventually learned to deal with it.

"Da?" Amiya rubbed her eyes and looked around.

"What's up?" He glanced back at her before his eyes went back to the road.

"..." She didn't say anything but fell back asleep and he sighed a bit.

He glanced at the passenger seat and his mind flashed to when Velvet sat in it one time. His vision returned to normal and all that was left was an empty seat. The warmth that he felt for a millisecond was gone once more and replaced with a cold, empty feeling. The steering wheel was gripped tightly and it shook a bit before he slowly let go and let out a distant sigh.

He knew that he should let go since it's been a while, but he just couldn't. If there was one thing he had trouble with, it was letting go of the people he cared about who died. Their deaths were always the most prominent thing that kept replaying in his mind and he was sick of it. It applied to everyone, whether they were Gears of someone as close as the Scarlatinas.

After driving for several more minutes, he pulled into the Command Platform and parked in his spot. He got out and unbuckled Amiya from her car seat and carried her inside, adjusting her a bit while keeping a firm grip on her bag. The receptionist at the lobby area greeted him and he nodded before going to the elevator and pressing the button. The ride was quicker than what he thought but that was simply due to the fact that he was letting his mind wander a bit. Several trains of thoughts would come and go in the span of seconds.

Some about Sera, others about what to do next, a majority of them about the war though. If it wasn't related to the Locust or Glowies then he didn't care in the slightest.

A ping snapped him out of his thoughts and he exited the elevator and walked to his apartment, reaching into his pocket and grabbing the keys. It unlocked and he squeezed inside before taking off his shoes and putting them neatly at the entryway area. It was a mixture of a porch and a doormat, the small area closest to the door was hardwood floor to keep dirt and whatever else stuck to a person's shoe from dirtying the carpet.

At this point, his body was on autopilot as he set Amiya down on a little mattress with some blankets and a pillow while he prepared dinner for them. He chopped vegetables, cooked some meat he got from the market, and stirred a bowl of sides after a while. There was a knock on the door and he walked up to it before peeking outside and seeing the other three.

He left it open before returning to the kitchen and continuing to cook. At this point, Amiya slowly woke up and spotted them, giving a little excited noise and scrambling towards them. Walker just glanced at them before turning back to the food and mixing it some more. It wasn't anything special, just some beef stew. The only thing about the use of meat, especially livestock such as cattle, was that it was slightly expensive to eat.

Seafood was relatively cheap and abundant considering they were stationed in the middle of the ocean, but land animals fetched a higher price. Chickens was what a lot of people ate considering how many they had and eggs was usually found everywhere, sometimes they had too much though. The mainland would often trade with the Gears, exchanging their farm animals with seafood. It was another trade agreement that the Gears had engaged in.

Five bowls were filled with the stew and Walker reached in the fridge to grab some juice, twisting the cap open and pouring it into a blue sippy cup before twisting the top back on. He slid the bowls in front of each of them before sitting down and taking off his helmet.

Blake scooped a small spoonful of the stew for Amiya and blew on it to cool it down, holding it to her mouth and smiling a bit when she ate it. She repeated this process a couple of times before occasionally taking a spoonful of her own bowl.

"Is it yummy?" Blake asked as she scooped a bit of stew into the spoon.

"Yeah." Amiya nodded.

"Good job." Blake beamed and set the spoon down before grabbing a spoonful for herself.

"..." Walker just quietly scooped a spoonful of stew into his mouth and looked at his scroll. Several messages were seen on the screen and he shook his head before putting it on silent mode and setting it on the table. Despite it being a relatively peaceful time, he knew the Locust wouldn't take too kindly to a large amount of their forces being decimated and would strike back harder than before.

If he had to guess, it was either going to be in Atlas or Beacon. He'd have to swallow his pride and have a conversation with Ironwood about exchanging information when it came to their influence in the snow kingdom. They'd probably take another shot at finally causing the kingdom to fall and loot whatever they could, but Beacon was a more vulnerable target. It's why he wanted to gather resources and bolster its defenses to fend off another attack should it arrive.

It would eventually and they needed to be prepared for it.

"Walker?" Blake's voice drew him out of his thoughts and he looked at her. Her amber eyes filled with worry and he realized that he was deep in thought again.

"I'm alright." He reassured. That was a lie though, he wasn't alright and he knew that he wouldn't be for a while. With the amount of people he's been losing recently and the stress of carrying a majority of the war effort, it was starting to get to him.

Old nightmares resurfaced and new ones came shortly after. He wasn't sleeping all to well lately, and he swore he was starting to hallucinate during certain periods. That didn't include the fact that he still didn't have a way home and he was starting to lose hope. Then there was the fact that he saw that Red and him still haven't gotten past their unresolved issues.

Red finished her food and put the dirty bowl in the dishwasher before excusing herself. She left the apartment and Walker sighed before standing up and grabbing his keys then left shortly after. It was better to handle this now before it was too late and she ended up injured or worse.

It took about half an hour to actually find Red, but Walker managed to do it. He saw her leaning on the railing near the edge of the Command Platform, staring out into the ocean and watching as the moonlight reflected off the waves. Her canine ears flicked when she heard the sound of his boots hitting the metal ground below them, already knowing that it was him.

She knew that if he wanted to sneak up on her, then he would; he was the only person who could do it surprisingly. Her shoulders tensed as he leaned his back on the railing and rested his shoulders on it, rotating his neck and sighing when when he popped it.

Nothing was said in between them and she could feel the unspoken tension in between them. Maybe this was the time they actually came to a middle ground and settled their issues, but a part of her knew that wouldn't come. It never did and if this was her punishment then she had no choice but to accept it.

"What are you doing, Red?" He asked, his voice slightly hoarse from not talking a lot today.

"What do you mean?" She asked back quietly.

"Just everything you've been doing lately." He answered.

"..." She glanced at him before her head sagged a bit and she looked at the murky water below. The waves crashing against one another and the metal platform.

He glanced at her then rotated his neck some more before standing up and stretching a bit, spinning around so that he was leaning his arms against the railing. An answer was what he wanted and neither of them were leaving until he got some. When he got that, they could finally start working their way towards a middle ground.

"I have to do this." She whispered.

"Why?" He asked without skipping a beat.

"I deserve it." She answered.

"..." He just looked at her once more before turning back towards the horizon.

"I screwed up, Walker. I'm the reason you got hurt, I'm the reason you were confined to that pod, I'm the reason you almost..." She grit her teeth in frustration and her hair covered her eyes.

"..." He just remained silent and turned to her, watching as she gripped the railing tightly and shook it a bit.

"Every time I get hurt, it's deserved. People say they forgive me for being manipulated by Reed, but I can see it in their eyes that they don't. I'm not stupid and I know they want me gone." She said.

"Red-" He started but she pushed herself away from the railing and faced away from him, crossing her arms and frowning at her feet.

"I deserve this, Walker. I deserve every single bit of unfortune that comes to me. Everything I do is to pay back what I did to you." She said.

"Red-" He tried to say but she began to pace back and forth. He could see the lack of light in her golden eyes. All she did was ramble about how she didn't deserve to be here and that everything terrible that fell onto her was a sort of penance. The more she talked, the more his fists shook in irritation that eventually turned to anger.

"I-" She stared but he stood in front of her and she bumped into his chest.

"You really think everything you're doing will earn my forgiveness?" He asked bitterly.

"..." She kept her head down but he took a step forward and she took an involuntary step back.

"It won't. Nothing you're doing now is going to earn anymore of my forgiveness and you're a fucking idiot to think otherwise." He breathed harshly as he stood right in front of her and stared down at her.

"You wouldn't-" She flinched when she heard his knuckles popping loudly.

"Shut up. I know what you're doing, I'm not blind to it. Every single mission, every Locust kill you've reported, every injury you've gained are all noticed. I've noticed it from the moment I woke up and I know that was your way of earning a scrap of my forgiveness." He crossed his arms.

"Then why haven't you forgiven me yet?" She asked.

"You being reckless and nearly getting yourself killed isn't going to get me to forgive you. If anything, it makes me more and more pissed off at you." He answered, causing her to flinch. Before she could say anything, he started to ruthlessly tear into her with a combination of small insults and a vicious tongue lashing.

It went quiet and she mulled over what he said. She's been around him long enough to know that sometimes he had trouble conveying his worry towards people, especially those who were close to him. If someone didn't know him or wasn't under his command, they wouldn't know how to interpret his way of showing concern in the form of words. Sometimes his way of showing that was by ripping into someone and insulting them.

If there was one thing Walker constantly worried about, it was a person's survival and safety.

Which is why he was so pissed off at her. From the moment he woke up, he began to worry about how everyone was doing, and him learning that she was essentially throwing her life away didn't sit right with him. From that point on, he had nothing but a series of unfortunate events; learning that his Gears were dying, people were sneaking out of Beacon and getting captured by the Locust, even to...

The death of the Scarlatinas...

He had been dealing with a lot on his plate and she wasn't helping in the slightest. It wasn't fair to put the blame on her completely but neither one were communicating and it was only a matter of time before they did something stupid and one of them ended up dead.

Red just listened to him, her ears pressed against the top of her head and tears starting to well up. This wasn't the first time she's received a tongue lashing from him, but she understood him well enough to know what he was feeling.

When it all boiled down to it, he was worried sick about her. He didn't want this suicidal, guilty, depressed person that constantly juggled her life. He didn't want someone who he knew distance herself from the others after so many battles together.

What he wanted was a certain person back. He wanted the woman who swore to be his fangs that dug into their enemies. The individual who started off cold and distant but eventually saw him as her closest friend and someone she could create memories with. So many battles fought together along with the others, the bond they had created from those battles, and he wanted it all back.

Walker wanted Red, or Catherine, back next to his side again.

After what was assumed to be half an hour, Walker raised his hand and it shook a bit before he let it drop. He was tired, not physically, but more along the lines of dancing around the problem. It had gone on long enough and it was time to put an end to it before it was too late.

Red just stayed silent and looked up at him, a few tears sliding down her cheeks.

"So what now?" She asked.

"We try to rekindle things, I guess." He said quietly.

"You shouldn't forgive me..." She said, it was an extremely weak argument but it was whatever little resistance she could muster at this point.

"True, there are times when I feel like I shouldn't. There are times when I want to wrap my hands around your neck and strangle you for what you did. To watch you suffer as your life slips away and dump your corpse into the murky depths." He said as his right hand hovered at the side of her neck. It shook violently but he steeled himself and reigned himself back.

"..." She just remained silent and offered no form of protest. If he wanted to strangle her to death, she'd allow it. Red was someone who would lay down her life for Walker in a heartbeat if he commanded it.

"But I'm not like that. Why would I kick a woman who's already suffering further into the ground?" He asked as he gently pinched her nose in between his thumb and the joint of his index finger.

The light in her eyes seemed to come back and his grip loosened before his hand fell to the side.

"..." She opened and closed her mouth numerous times, unable to find the words.

"I don't want that, Red. I want us to go back to how we were before that whole shitshow in Atlas. I don't want you to get hurt just to earn my forgiveness and dying won't fix anything." He shook his head.

"I still have things to do." She said.

"Catherine..." He sighed and she froze. His tone wasn't scolding, angry, or anything else. It was merely a slip of the tongue but it came so easily that it felt natural in a sense. Usually, when people said her real name, it filled her with bitterness, but it was different when he said it.

With him, it just felt right.

Before she could say anything, he started to walk back towards the building but stopped when she gripped his forearm. The silence between them was different in a sense; this one was still slightly uncomfortable but it was slowly starting to fade.

"Walker." She called out after a while.

"Yeah?" He asked as she looked back at her, noticing her clutch the hem of her shirt tightly.

"Can... can we start over? I don't want this... I don't want what we went through to go down the toilet." She said.

"Neither do I." He replied.

"But I can't get over it. Every time I look at you, I can't help but feel guilty. I don't know what to do." She said.

"Red?" He asked.

"..." She just looked up at him and he put his hand on the top of her head, right in between her wolf ears.

"We'll start over. People make mistakes and I'm not going to lie to you, it's going to take a while for us to get back to how we were before." He said.

"I know." She sighed.

"Don't... don't kill yourself for me, okay? I'm tired of losing people. I don't want to lose you too." He said truthfully. How many people has he lost over the years? His parents, his home, his childhood friends, his best friend who he considered a brother, and almost his life. That was just on Sera though... Remnant was different.

Walker's life was constantly filled with loss and he was sick of it.

"Okay." She nodded in understanding.

"Come on. Dinner's getting cold." He said as his hand slid from in between her canine ears and down the front of her head. He gestured for her to follow him with a quick flick of his head and she was instantly by his side.

The silence that accompanied them was peaceful for once and it lasted for several long seconds before she broke it.

"Why didn't you call me to tell me that you were killing Reed?" She looked up at him.

"Wanted to get some revenge." He answered.

"He was mine to kill." She puffed her right cheek at him.

"If it makes you feel better... I tied a cinderblock to his legs and kicked him over the edge." He said.

"A little. I would've lit him on fire though." She said.

"Hmph." He chuckled and opened the door for her. She thanked him and stepped into the building, followed by him shortly after. He looked out at the distance, faintly seeing the lights from the commercial and residential district. The door was closed not long after and he decided to finish his meal with her.

A weight had been lifted off their shoulders somewhat and both were glad they had come to somewhat of a common ground.

So thanks for reading and sorry if this chapter isn't all that, I tried.

Bye.
