Lili's POV
Dipper and I were following Mabel and Norman around. I don't like this. Maybe it's because I was raised to not follow people around. I think Dipper is a bit overprotective of his twin sister. I'm not sure how siblings are supposed to act since I'm the only child. I always asked Pa for a brother or sister, but he always deny the request. Since I've been here with my cousins, it seems like we were getting along and maybe we can see each other like siblings instead of cousins. But I don't know how Dipper and Mabel would feel about that.
Anyway, Dipper was filming Mabel with Norma in the park. We watched as Mabel threw a frisbee at Norma, who failed to catch it. I winced when he fell over. I glanced at Dipper, whose eyes drifted toward me. We were sharing the same confused look on our faces before we glanced back at Mabel's "boyfriend."
We followed Mabel and Norman to Greasy's Diner and we entered the diner before they did. Dipper and I sat down, hiding our faces with the menus. We closed over them, watching as Norman break through a door window to open it from the inside and let Mabel inside the diner. I narrowed my eyes at the "teen" when he stumbled around and crashed while he was trying to follow Mabel.
After a bit, Dipper and I were in the field, where Mabel and Norman were. I straightened up, watching as Norman fell into an open grave before he crawled out. Actually, it was his hand that came out first and he screamed. I tensed up before watching them laugh it off.
I sighed, walking away from Dipper, "Dipper, I'd seen enough."
I heard him following me, "Agree."
We walked back to the shack in silence. I don't know if we were on the right track. Was Norman normal or was he something else? From what I saw, he didn't act human. However, I know that all humans don't act the same. Maybe he's just a clumsy human. Maybe Dipper and I should leave Mabel and Norman alone.
"Dipper," I asked, climbing the stairs of the shack, "Are we sure Norman is a zombie? He could be a very clumsy human."
"I don't know," Dipper admitted, "There is something about him that doesn't feel right. But I cannot place my finger on it. I'm not going to stop until I know for sure he's human."
I shrugged, not knowing what to say. I stepped into the shack with Dipper following me. We were going to go up to the attic, but we stopped when heard Gee-Pa Stan's voice, "Lili! Is that you?!"
"Yes, Gee-Pa Stan!" I yelled back before turning to Dipper, "Go up to the attic. I will meet you up there."
He nodded and I went to see what Gee-Pa Stan wanted. He was in the kitchen with a phone near his ear. His eyes drifted toward me, handing me the phone before leaving the kitchen without saying a word. I chuckled at that before placing the phone near my ear.
"Hallo," I said calmly, sitting down at the table.
"Lilith! My little demon! How are you?" I heard my pa's excited voice.
I didn't stop my lips from forming a massive smile. And yes, my pa did call me his little demon. Since I can remember, he has always called me that. I think it has to do with my full name Lilith. I admit I never really like my full name. No one, but Gee-Pa Stan, Pa, and I, know my full name. Well, I think my school knows my full name, but they always say Lili instead of Lilith, which I like.
The last time I spoke to him, I told him I didn't believe I was going to have fun here without him. That was a lie since I'm getting along with my cousins.
"You were right, Pa. I like spending time with Dipper and Mabel," I replied, giving him the truth.
"I knew you were going to have fun with your cousin, Lili. I've been meaning to call you, but -"
I heard a different voice, but I couldn't understand what the voice was saying.
"Sir, one moment. I'm on - Okay. Okay. I'm coming. Look, Lili, I have to go," my pa said.
"Wait!" I yelled, hearing a click before I mumbled into the phone, "I love and miss you."
I placed the phone on the table, glancing down at my hands. I know my pa loves me, but sometimes it's hard for him to spend time with me because of his job. I admit I did try to call him last week with Gee-Pa Stan's help. And we couldn't even say hi to my pa. This time, I barely got to speak with him. I understand his job is important, but I want my daddy back.
"You were not on the phone long."
I jumped, looking at the person. It was Gee-Pa. He walked back into the kitchen and sat down at the table.
I gave him a fake smile, "He had something important thing to do."
Gee-Pa Stan rolled his eyes, "Kid, I know a lie when I see one. Yes, you're telling the truth, but only half of it. You're looking at a man that lied for all of his life. Lili, since your father dropped you off here with me, I noticed he's barely called up. I know having a job is important since he's trying to give you the best. But I know Lucifer and I know he would do anything for you. He told me that he loves you more than anything in this world. I think something is going on, but I don't know what. Just remember, your Gee-Pa Stan is still here for you. Now, I have to go and give a bunch of tourists a tour of the Shack."
I chuckled at Gee-Pa Stan, knowing he was right. My pa does love me. I know for sure he will never abandon me just like my mother. I have nothing to worry about. At the end of the summer, I know I will return to my pa.
"Grunkle Stan! Grunkle Stan! Grunkle Stan!" I heard Dipper yell in a panic.
I raced after him, wanting to know if everything was all right, "Dipper!"
He turned towards me with a panicked look in his eyes, "I was right about Norman, Lili! We were right! He's not human! He's a zombie! And Mabel is with him! We need to get Grunkle Stan! Over here, Grunkle Stan!"
But Gee-Pa Stan wasn't paying attention to us. He was talking to the tourists about the rock that looks like a face.
"Ergh!" groaned Dipper, "Stan! Stan!"
I shook my head at Dipper before my eyes caught Wendy, "Wendy! Wendy! Wendy! Dipper and I need to borrow the golf cart so we can save his sister from a zombie!"
Wendy gave Dipper the keys with a half-smirk on her face, "Try not to hit any pedestrians."
We climbed into the cart quickly, and Dipper was going to drive off, but we were stopped by Soos.
"Dudes, it's me: Soos. This is for the zombies," said Soos, giving me a shovel.
"Thanks," I replied.
I was going to tell Dipper to go, but I was cut off by Soos, handing me a baseball bat, "And this is in case you see a pinata."
"Uh…Thanks?" I replied, but it came out like a question.
I glanced at Dipper, who shrugged his shoulders. I shook my head before telling my cousin to drive off to save Mabel. I held on tight when Dipper was speeding through the woods. I hope we can get to Mabel before anything bad happens to her. I really do enjoy being around Mabel.
"Can you go any faster, Dipper!?" I yelled in anger.
"I'm going as fast as this thing can go!" replied Dipper in the same tone of anger before mumbling to himself, "Don't worry, Mable! We'll save you from that zombie!"
"Help!" We heard Mabel's cries.
"Hold on!" Dipper and I shouted, hoping Mabel could hear us.
Dipper drove faster - well, tried to drive faster. This cart seemed to be very slow. However, once we got to Mabel. Both Dipper and I glanced at the scene in front of us. No zombie in sight. Instead, it looks like… gnomes? They were trying to tie Mabel up, however, she was struggling against them.
"What the heck is going on here?!"
Dipper and I stepped back when one of the gnomes hissed at us.
"Dipper! Lili! Norman turned out to be a bunch of gnomes! And they're total jerks!" Mabel said loudly as a gnome pulled her hair, "Hair! Hair! Hair!"
"Gnomes? Huh, we were way off, Dipper," I said, glancing at my cousin, who pulled the journal out of his vest and read the relevant page aloud, "Gnomes: little men of the Gravity Falls Forest. Weaknesses: Unknown."
Dipper and I glanced at Mabel to see that the gnomes have managed to tie Mabel to the ground.
"Aw, come on!" yelled Mabel.
I walked over to one of the gnomes, saying rudely, "Hey, HEY! Let go of my cousin!"
"Oh! Ha ha. Hey, there! Um, you know, this is all really just a big misunderstanding. You see, your cousin's not in danger. She's just marrying all one thousand of us and becoming our gnome queen for all eternity! Isn't that right, honey?"
"You guys are butt-faces!" Mabel yelled before a gnome covered her mouth, "Mmmm-MMMMM!"
Dipper stepped forward, holding the shovel, and point it toward the main gnome, "Give her back right now, or else!"
"You think you can stop us, boy and girl? You have no idea what we're capable of. The gnomes are a powerful race! Do not trifle with the-" the gnome said, but he was cut off by Dipper, who causally tosses him away with the shovel.
The gnome screams while Dipper cut Mabel free with the shovel. Mabel and I kicked the gnomes away from her. My cousins and I sprinted to the cart. We jumped into the cart. And Dipper was driving us away from the crazy gnomes.
"Hurry before they come after us!" Mabel said with fear in her voice.
I chucked, "I wouldn't worry about it, Mabel. See their little legs? Those suckers are tiny!"
Dipper nodded his head, agreeing with me before he stopped the cart. We all heard a stomping sound. We turned around to see a giant stacked gnome coming towards us.
"Dang," mumbled Mabel and me before I shouted at Dipper, "Move! MOVE!"
Dipper pushes on the gas, driving away quickly. That's when the gnomes smash their arm down. Thankfully, it didn't stop Dipper. He drives through it and breaks it.
"Come back with our queen!" I heard the main gnome yell in anger.
"It's getting closer!" Mabel screamed right when gnomes landed on our cart.
I took the baseball bat and hit a few of the little devils. Mabel elbow punches a gnome off. A different gnome jumped up behind Dipper. I was going to help my cousin, however, he got it by grabbing the gnome and slamming him into the steering wheel. The gnome fell off the cart before another one landed on the cart and jumped on Dipper's face.
"Dipper!" I yelled in panic.
"I'll save you, Dipper!" Mabel said, punching the gnome off Dipper's face.
The gnome fell off Dipper and the cart, taking Dipper's hat with him.
"Thanks, Mabel," Dipper said, looking a little daze from Mabel's punches.
"Don't mention it."
I chuckled at the twins, but my happiness didn't last when I saw a tree coming our way, "Look out!"
We all scream when the cart overturned and landed next to the Mystery Shack. We crawled out of the cart. I took the bat, holding it in my hands while Dipper took the shovel. We stood next to Mabel, protecting her, not wanting these little freaks to take Mabel Pines as their queen.
"Stay back, man!" Dipper yelled, throwing the shovel at the gnome giant.
The gnomes punches the shovel in mid-air, which made me jump the bat. My cousins and I grabbed each other, screaming in fear.
"Where's Gee-Pa Stan?!" I questioned my cousins in fear.
But no one knew where Gee-Pa Stan was or what that man was doing. My cousins and I were stuck here with the gnomes that are trying to keep Mabel.
"It's the end of the line, kids! Mabel, marry us before we do something crazy!"
"Like you haven't done anything crazy," I mumbled to myself while Dipper said to us, "There's gotta be a way out of this!"
"I gotta do it," said Mabel, making Dipper and I look at her crazy.
"What?!" I asked loudly, not knowing if she was thinking right or not, "Mabel, don't do this! Are you crazy?!"
"Trust me."
"What?" Dipper and I questioned her confused.
"Dipper, Lili, just this once. Trust me."
Dipper and I glanced at each other before our eyes drifted to the gnomes and back at Mabel. We decided to trust her. So, we took a few steps back. I crossed my fingers behind my back, hoping for Mabel to not actually marry the gnomes and become their queen.
"All right, Jeff, I'll marry you."
"Hot dog! Help me down there, Jason!" said Jeff the gnome, climbing down to get to Mabel, "Thanks, Andy! All right, left foot. There we go. Watch those fingers, Mike."
I felt Dipper grab my hand when we watch as Jeff approached Mabel and holds out a diamond ring. I didn't pull away from Dipper. Knowing he needs this at the moment. I did too after I watch Mabel held out her hand.
Jeff put the ring on her hand, "Bada-bing, bada-bam! Now let's get you back into the forest, honey!"
I had to keep Dipper back, and I felt him tense up when Mabel said, "You may now kiss the bride."
"Well, don't mind if I do," said Jeff, leaning up to miss my cousin.
I watched as Mabel leaned down to kiss the gnome, but instead. she take out the leaf blower. I felt my eyes widened, realizing what my cousin was doing.
"Ah! Hey! Hey, wait a minute! Whoa, whoa! Wh-what's goin' on?!" asked Jeff in panic before he got sucked halfway into the leaf blower.
"That's for lying to me!" Mabel said in anger, increasing the sucking power, "THAT'S for breaking my heart! And THIS is for messing with my brother and cousin! Wanna do the honors?"
Dipper let my hand go and I kind of stood on the side of Mabel while the twins were counting down. They blast Jeff towards the gnome monster, making the monster explode into separate gnomes. Jeff flew off into the distance, saying something. However, I didn't catch what he said. And for the others? Well, they screamed when they fell to the ground. Mabel moves the leaf blower back and forth, blowing and scaring the gnomes away. All but one got away. The one that didn't was caught by Gompers, who ran from with the gnome in his mouth. I giggled at that before turning to my cousins. We were all tired after this.
"Hey, Dipper? I, um… I'm sorry for ignoring your advice. You really were just looking out for me."
"Oh, don't be like that. You saved our butts back there."
"I guess I'm just sad that my first boyfriend turned out to be a bunch of gnomes."
I stepped forever, wrapped my arm around my female cousin, "Hey, at least you had a boyfriend, even though we're both twelve. Maybe there could be a set of male twins for us, Mabel."
Mabel giggled.
"Or maybe the next one will be a vampire!"
I shrugged, "That too."
"Oh, you two are just saying that!"
"Awkward sibling hug?" asked Dipper, making me step away.
Mabel glanced at me with a soft smile on her face before saying, "No. Awkward family hug."
Dipper agreed and we three hugged each other before patting each other's back. It was nice to have people that care for me besides my pa and Gee-Pa Stan. Maybe this summer will not be too bad with my cousins here with me. We walked back into the Mystery Shack to see Gee-Pa Stan behind the counter.
"Yeesh. You three get hit by a bus or something? Ahah!" laughed Gee-Pa Stan.
I shook my head at him before Mabel, Dipper and I began to walk away. But we were stopped by Gee-Pa Stan saying, "Uh, Hey! W-wouldn't you know it? Um, I accidentally overstocked some inventory, so, uh… how about each of you take one item from the gift shop? On the house, y'know?"
"Really?" asked Mabel excited.
Dipper and I glanced at each other before asking in unison, "What's the catch?"
"The catch is do it before I change my mind," replied Gee-Pa Stan, "Now, take something."
We all decided to glance around. This was the first time Gee-Pa Stan allowed me to do this. I'm wondering why. Maybe he's just being nice or maybe he did really overstocked. I don't know the real answer. I decided to take a yellow journal with what looked like a triangle in the middle of it. I glanced over at Dipper, who picked out a blue pine tree hat from one of the shelves and looked into the mirror. My eyes drifted towards Mabel.
"And I will have a…" said Mabel, digging through a box before pulling something out, "GRAPPLING HOOK!"
I glanced at Dipper concern, wondering why Mabel wanted that thing. It seems like I wasn't the only one that was thinking that since Gee-Pa Stan asked Dipper, "Wouldn't she rather, like, a doll, or something?"
My eyes drifted back to my cousin right when she aimed the grappling hook upwards and fired it off. It pulled her up to the ceiling when she said excitedly, "GRAPPLING HOOK!"
"Fair enough!" said Gee-Pa Stan.
After that, Dipper, Mabel, and I went to the attic for the night. I was sitting in my bed, writing in my journal about what happened today. I wanted to keep a journal about what happened this summer and I wanted my pa to read when he comes back from overseas. I glanced over at Mabel, who was jumping on her bed and laughing. I smiled at my cousin when I glanced over at Dipper. He, too, was smiling and he was looking between Mabel and me before his eyes landed on me. He gave me a nod before we put our journals away.
"Hey, Mabel," I said, laying down in my bed, "Could you get the light?"
"I'm on it!" yelled Mabel, knocking the light out the window with the grappling hook, "It works!"
My cousins and I laughed before we settled down. I turned onto my left side and closed my eyes. I have a feeling this summer was going to be great. I smiled to myself, slowly falling asleep. But the darkness took over, I heard a voice (not Mabel's or Dipper's) say quietly, "See you real soon, Little Demon."
Author Note: Do you want me to continue the story in Lili's POV or change it up? If you want me to do a different POV for the next "episode" (The Legend of the Gobblewonker), should it be in Mabel's or Dipper's POV? Less you, viewers, want the story to stay in Lili's POV.
