Gaz knocked on the wall of the living room. "It's time." He leaned on the wall and watched his boy.
Weeks went by since they arrived to this town, they studied, practiced, endured, and waited for their moment to strike.
Geus kept his attention onto the picture of his late grandmother. His body visibly shook, even as he pinched in his thumbs it gave no effect. "You sure this is going to work?"
"I've kept all eyes on this, no document went past me and no study didn't get my approval. But at the end of the day it's your decision."
Gaz dropped his back and walked behind the boy. His arms closed in around him, he grasped around his shoulders and squeezed. His head rested on top of Geus's and dug his fingers in. "At the end of the day, boy it's your decision. I can delay it for you to not take apart of the experiment. Or you can take the upgrade."
He spun Geus and dropped to one knee. His hands embraced the boy's shoulder as they locked eyes. "As terrible as they are, they lead in this kind of work. After today, there is no walking away, and after I can always remove it. The doctors of UA will make sure it happens."
Geus looked back at his grandmother one last time. "It was her design right?"
"Started ever since she found out you were born."
"I'll do it."
Gaz stood up and hugged his boy tighter than ever before. "I know you still haven't forgiven me and not doing it for me but thank you." He released him and walked back over to the door and grabbed a large duffle bag.
"Should've opened your eyes a long time ago, old man."
The car ride was silent, as bored as Geus appeared his body was full of throw up anxiety. Everything from that moment was a hazy blur. The ride up to the building, the escort down to the lower floors, his change into a hospital gown. All the way to the point he laid face down on the table.
Gaz knelt down to his eye level. Changed into a operator, head cap, layers of covers, eye wear, and face mask and all. His eyes appeared no different than the day they met.
"Geus my boy, let me remind you of everything. If you change or mind." He squeezed Geus's shoulder. "Or want a smoothie at the end of the night, let me know now."
Geus recognized the code word, just in case they wanted to go with the other route. "Nah, I'm good on that."
A long stress filled exhale left Gaz's mouth. He nodded slowly. "Yep. Gotcha. Well the surgery will involve us creating points in the center of your spine, right behind your lungs. There we create tunnels into your lungs to the entry points. A capacitor will be placed into your back that will interact with your suit. If all goes to plan, you won't need that mask and your suit will emit your power even more. You understand son?"
"Yeah. Just knock me out already." Gaz turned his head and nodded.
"Just count down to ten for me."
"Ten, nine, eight... Seven... Six..." Geus's locked closed right when he couldn't speak.
Everything Geus held dear was off his hands for control. All he could do was trust the man that at the end of the day only wanted what was best for him. His strength, responsibility, compassion he developed was in Gaz's hands. If everything was a lie he could be killed right on this table. Or somehow his free will could be ripped from his head. But if everything was true and right, this would end it all.
Sirens blared and broke through the black pit that Geus's mind rested in. Slowly his consciousness took back over, the laze and daze faded. His mission now is all that took over. He grabbed the tubes from his throat and yanked them out.
His muscles were weak and wobbly but at the right moments did what they were supposed to do. He flipped off the table, barely on his feet and swayed to the equipment. He crashed into IVs and trays of equipment and tumbled over.
"FOCUS!" Geus screamed and punched his thighs. "We got this."
Geus closed his eyes and felt the new equipment in his body. The gas flowed through his veins to control his spasms. The sensation was new, nothing he felt before. Unlike him just adding to his physical strength, his mental thoughts took over his brain's original.
He pushed off the ground and sprinted to the double doors. He bashed through the door into a red flashing, and siren blaring hallway. Geus continued through to another set of doors and crashed through. This time he was in a locker room still filled with that red siren.
His eyes ran through each locker till he found the right one. He extended out his right arm and focused back down. The gadget on his back opened up a chamber for gas to flow out and encase his arm. A single crush of the lock broke and flung off with barely any effort.
"I guess it really did work." Geus mumbled to himself and pulled the door open. Only thing inside, that huge duffle bag.
It slapped on the bench for Geus to open it up. Inside was his hero suit, only with a slight modification on the back. An outline bump for his gadget to easily slid into. He locked his mask in place and placed the ear piece in.
"You hear me old man?" Geus radioed
"Took you long enough! Get your ass outside now!" Gaz radioed back. "And also boy, glad your safe." He said in a much softer tune.
"Roger that."
Geus locked in the last of his suit, his arms and legs fully submerged in his gas as he sprinted out. The fighting upstairs and the sirens got louder the further up he reached. The rumbles and shakes of the building reached critical points where his balance became questionable.
He kept his hands on the walls of the staircase to manage all that he could. Holes and explosions blasted through the walls with heroes and villains alike. But none of them seemed to notice Geus in the midst of battle. Geus could see sunlight and blasted through one of the holes.
A complete onslaught of every hero the country had to offer and villains of the town fought. And right in his sights were members of the League. The number one group he came here for. The girl and the guy in black, hundreds of not thousands of his clones covered the street.
Geus's quirk overflowed and expanded around the hole. "Don't do it kid!" Gaz radioed back before Geus made his flinch forward.
"Why not? They're right there!" Geus hung back, and awaited for the moment.
"That wasn't the plan, we saw them here and are meant to be delt with the rest of 'em!"
"You see what's in those mountains or did I take out your corneas on that table!"
Geus looked out and swore to himself. Slowly Geus focused down, that large amount of gas solidified and moved around his body into spheres. He held one in his hand, his hand was essentially flat from the sheer size. "Fine."
"Trust me, the heroes have a full assault on the inside, no one expected this big shit to awake so soon! Not without his leader present."
Geus backed to the opposite wall and placed his foot against it. In one swift motion his other leg jumped in the air with another ball on it. A small explosion came from the impact and shot him straight through. He dropped dozens of stories till he was mere feet from the ground. Another explosion from his foot set off and propelled him back up.
For a split second that felt like a lifetime his eyes locked in on Toga's. It made his stomach sink at her smell, the enjoyment her blissed eyes oozed. He wanted to stop and face her, just a single punch to knock that smirk off.
"I got eyes on Geus!"
Geus's body twisted around as he flung back up. Uraraka's eyes followed Geus's ascent into the air. She chucked a small radio over to him and was propelled even further with Sero's tape. Geus caught the device before another small explosion jumped him up again.
"Glad to have you on our team, and alive." This voice wasn't one that Geus recognized, at least haven't heard enough of.
"What's the plan here?" Geus asked back.
"You're our ace in the hole here. I'm told you were supposed to have a bomb in your heart. Hope that wasn't literal."
"Mt. Lady! That's Geus you're talking about! He always has a plan!" Kirishima shouted out in his usual loud tone.
"Just wait until I get there!"
A handful of jumps later the thing was fully in his sight, along with the heros and schoolmates. This thing was taller than the mountains, even destroyed a few of the tops. He decided it through some of the mail he received with his grandfather, but this was nothing he imagined. The rock hard shell, even his hair was shaped and hardened like Kirishima's quirk.
The other giant, familiar as Mt. Lady in her equally massive form looked down at Geus. "Here I thought you'd be taller."
"Haha." Geus joked back. "Mina, Kirishima, Koda..." He nodded at each classmate that surrounded him. He was hesitant on Jiro, his face smiled brightly under his mask. One hand grabbed and pried his mask off as the other swiped off the lose gas from his lips. "Jiro."
"Alright, focus up!" Mt. Lady interrupted. "What's the plan for him. Gaz told me you guys came up with some sort of plan."
"Nice to see you too, Momo." Geus chuckled as he turned back.
"Back in the forties America had the Manhattan Project. But obviously we can't launch a nuke," Geus crouched down in a gorilla stance. The pod in his back opened up and created a open sphere. "But the Geneva Convention said nothing about mixing chemical based quirks."
"How do you expect us to launch that at him accurately without killing one of us?" Yaoyorozu panicked in her words. We're mere flies to that guy! And carrying something so delicate at that!"
Geus stopped back up and walked over to her. His hands grasped her shoulders and tapped his head against hers. He pulled back and smiled. "Because, we have the smartest one in our class to back up my stupidity."
"Look I'm all for taking the brunt of the charge on this! I can't let one of you kids die on my watch." Mt. Lady chimed in. "But your quirk won't survive when it's not attached to you."
"No shit." This is why I'm going in. As long as I'm entrapped to my own gas, nothing should kill me." Geus flexed his bicep and pointed his thumb to his back. "With this on me, I can't run out of gas... Literally."
Kirishima patted Geus's back and laughed. "No wonder why it looks like you grew another twenty pounds."
Geus looked down at his own body, sure the suit felt tight to him but he also never wore it in months. "Had to prep for surgery. My old body couldn't handle this."
In a way he went through a good number of metamorphoses since his quirk. His melted insides sustained the quirk so it wouldn't kill him, Chisaki's re-mutilation of his flesh made him immune. And now the surgery from his grandfather expanded his lung capacity. As such, a ten fold of gas can be manipulated and created, if not more.
"The Brooklyn Project requires a couple things to work if it ever is. My gas, Mina's goo, and one strong neurotoxin." Geus counted with his fingers on each part, then pointed at Yoayorozu. "We have two of this right off that bat. But we need your smarts to get the last."
"Master!" The beast's yell shocked eardrums and toppled trees. Out of nowhere it took charge into the town, nothing in its way stopped it. It smashed through Mt. Lady like she was just another tree.
"Shiragaki's out! What the hell happened over there!" Gaz radioed in.
"Figure it out Momo! You have to trust me." Geus squatted back down but with his arm stuck behind him. "Mina, I'll carry you to town, ride on my and fill the space with your goo. The more we got the more effective it will be."
Geus quickly swept the girl up and launched themselves into the air. With the others close behind Geus closed the distance. Even still this thing acted as though the heroes were mere flies. It crushed buildings, swatted whoever, and whatever away. It had a mindset and nothing could change it.
"How's it filling over there?" Geus yelled over to Mina.
"It's filling! It's amazing to see how much you've grown since you left!"
Geus smirked. "Yeah it was all for-"
"Geus supersonic boom your way!" Gaz shouted out.
It was too late to react for the pair. In the same instant a fist connected with Geus's cheek; he sealed the container and pushed Mina into the grass. Geus flew back with nearly no control over his own body. Only managed to twirl to his stomach and drag across the ground.
"Boy oh boy does your face hurt!" The cocky laughs hid behind a layer of dust. The man brushed his fist and relaxed his arm as he walked forward.
The jacket and goggles gave away the man's appearance in an instant. Geus didn't have any time to hold back. He ripped his mask off and jumped to his feet. "Sonicboom, Sonic, Boom." Geus flexed his arms out and surrounded the gas around him.
"You remember my name?" The man stopped in his tracks. He appeared mad, his right hand in a position to snap his fingers.
"Can't say I do." But I remember that face. "Opened my eyes a bit last I remember."
"At least Yuki did that right." His hand snapped up as he snapped his fingers. It was like he teleported behind Geus and kicked the back of Geus's knee. Another two sets of snaps stuck him to one side of Geus, and punched him again as he appeared on the other side. "Yuki told me you survived. Never managed to put you back asleep. Like you disappeared from the school."
"So what about it?"
One snap made him appear in front of Geus, this time his foot came straight up to his chin before he was ten feet back. "You were supposed to give up! Hearing you continued to move after the warning." He cracked his neck then teleported again. "Then you were supposed to die!"
Geus expected the next teleport his gas exploded around his arms at the right moment. He felt the fist come through the fog and solidified. Another turn of the gas sent a spike through the man's arm.
The man attempted to teleport but to both of their surprise Geus and his gas came with. "I got you all figured out!"
"Nah, just learned one step out of the dozen." The man held his hand out to the city and snapped. The two teleported to a wrecked building, but Geus was hammered into the rubble.
"All that pain to protect that bubble." The man pulled off his bomber style jacket to a basic silk tight white shirt. "What's in it huh?" A snap locked in in the air as another drove his boot in Geus's chest.
He grabbed Geus's skull and pulled him to his feet. "Like I'd tell you." Geus opened his mouth and launched a mist of gas.
He teleported back without Geus. "Fuck that burns!" His hands was buried into his face as he tried to rub it off. "Don't think you did anything special. I got cocky."
"Doesn't matter, just need you to screw up enough to hold you till my friends get here. Besides, where's yours?"
"Doing the same thing." He snapped forward with his arm cocked and ready to throw. "Holding back!"
A ball of gas exploded in front of them and distracted the man for a bit. All of Geus's fingers curled and landed a solid shot into his gut. He didn't have enough time to fly back as his fist exploded him out. A secret strand strong enough wrapped around the man's gut as he flew.
"And just like you!" A reverse spike impaled the ground and pulled him straight back to Geus. Geus made sure to build as much gas as possible to his arm. "I can take you out myself!"
The mass of gas was as thick as him. A final blow intended to end it all. His arm barreled down to meet it's target. He attempted another snap to avoid this blow. Only for it to partially work; it broke free of the grasp but nowhere near his intentions.
The impact just missed where his body was supposed to be. The explosion came right after, the heat could blister any hidden skin under any armor. But in the precise moment snapped into the hills just out of town. He could still only scream and roll in the dirt from the pure agony.
"Fucking damn it!" The entire left side of his goggles melted off, only red skin remained at this point. His eyes bloodshot and veins pulsed. "There's a reason why you idiots get passed around like trash! From prison to other morons! Even the family leaves you!"
Geus felt around the sack on his back to check for any leakage. "Yeah, you're right I do get passed along. But now it's not to abandon me." Geus stood from from his seated position. "Be a man and tell me your name."
The man pried the other side of his goggles off and managed to his feet. His fingers prepped another snap as his mouth widened into a smile. "Iroh." He teleported face to face with Geus. He planter his hand into Geus's chest before another teleport to run.
Geus looked down at a small blue glowing orb planted on his chest. Geus's gas engulfed the rest of his body just as the device surged out of control. The impulse ate through the gas to travel to his chest. The sheer amount of electricity jolted through his flesh and bone. Effectly he froze in place, unable to move even his eyes.
The man that called himself Iroh, from all that time back from prison and the school festival. Had an ace up his sleeve to make sure his goal was met. Whatever that goal truly was.
"Geus! Man!" Kirishima's voice came to the front of his vision.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" Geus forced out. "Momo, you better have a plan."
Momo came to the front of his vision as well. "I did. But you got to trust me."
Next thing Geus knew in his frozen state he was in an antistatic tube in Mt. Lady's hand. A cannon for an arm streamed Geus clean through the air and to the monster.
"Now!" Momo yelled through the ear piece.
A small explosion from Geus's gas propelled him out the tube and in the air. Uncharacteristically from the creature it paid direct attention to Geus. It's mouth open wide for the taking. Another set of explosions yanked his arms up.
It was perfect, Geus's paralysed state trapped him in the creature's mouth and sent the electricity elsewhere. A series of planted conductors in its skin stole whatever was left and left Geus free. Geus unleashed everything he had stored. His sack of acid and gas exploded down its throat, and enveloped the outside.
The giant was overwhelmed inside and out. Death threatening gasses, electric overstim, and internal blockages.
"Perfect planning UA!" Best Jeanist was airborne above them.
He was the final part of the plan, the absolute entrapment for this thing. Jean threads filled and covered everything else done to it. It toppled over like any other gigantic beast, unable to move or escape.
