The heart is a thing so easily swayed. A single tiny action such as the flap of a butterfly's wings is enough to change the course of history, and me simply making sure that All Might didn't drop that sludge villain was enough to stop him from obtaining 'One For All'. With Izuku no longer wanting to become a Hero I have no doubt that he'll join me and Paragon, I have special plans for him.
The only downside to this plan of mine is that I no longer know for certain who Toshinori will pass 'One For All' onto, or if he'll even pass it on at all, my plans will be made so much simpler if he passes it onto another holder. With All Might's power fading and the Quirk being held by an inexperienced user nothing will be in my way anymore, very few people in this world pose a real threat to me on their own and once they're gone nothing will be holding me back.
Truth be told, it doesn't really matter in the long run if I obtain 'One For All' or not, as awesome as that Quirk is if it really came down to it I'd be fine with putting an end to the Quirk permanently. As a Quirk I cannot steal it is quite literally my only loose end, once the antithesis of my power is out of the way nobody in this world will be able to realistically stand up to me.
Maybe that Mirio guy would get 'One For All'. I really hope he does, he probably wouldn't even last a few years with how little storage his body possesses.
My plan is going to work, I know that because I trust in both my friends and myself to help me achieve my dreams.
Well I suppose it's our dreams now.
"Wait so you want to recruit my son into your business?" Inko Midoriya asked with scepticism as Izuku seemed to fidget right next to me, clearly a very experienced liar. Note the sarcasm.
Still though I smiled and answered her questions patiently." Of course, Izuku is clearly a very bright boy and with society's prejudices against the Quirkless me and my company would just like to help him reach his potential."
I didn't even need to lie about Izuku being a bright boy either. He gets amazing grades and his talent for Quirk analysis rivals my own, and a part of my Quirk quite literally breaks a person's Quirk just by looking at them. All Might is truly a fool for letting a shiny gem like Izuku slip through his fingers.
Inko looked at the papers I'd layed down in front of her and then back at Izuku." Are you sure that this is what you want Izuku? This all looks very nice but don't you wanna be a Hero?" The woman asked in both worry and protectiveness.
I couldn't blame her. The way I'm conducting business in here isn't exactly normal and with an overbearing mother like Inko in front of me it's getting difficult to cover up this façade. However I wouldn't be stopped now.
Izuku looked his mother right in the eye and tried to look determined." I think I've given up on that dream mum, I think this could be great for me and I need to be realistic for once, besides it's not like I'm never gonna see you again."
I kept a genuine smile on my face as I helped Izuku in addressing Inko's worries." You'll be able to visit your son quite often if that's what your worried about. I understand that this must be a lot for you however I just want what's best for your son. If you really don't want him to come with me then I'll have to respect that."
Inko looked conflicted for a moment and stared at me with worry but then sighed with a small smile." Ever since you were a boy you'd always said that you wanted to be a Hero and I felt myself worrying over you every day. If this is really what you want to do then I won't hold you back." Inko signed the papers with a few tears building up in her eyes before she turned to her son." I just hope your happy Izuku."
Tears seemed to build up in both of their eyes and they cried together. I felt very uncomfortable at the sight of two people crying so much, I actually questioned if Izuku really did have a Quirk, one that let him cry so much at once. It was really an extraordinary sight.
But still Izuku was on my side now. It's time for action.
"Izuku I have an idea of what Quirk I really want to give you but for now I know exactly what ability would best suit you."
Izuku listened with intent interest at Ryoto's words. Never in his entire life after he was diagnosed did he believe that he would gain a Quirk. It just didn't seem to ever cross his mind, 'Izuku' and 'Quirk' aren't two words that match." Really? What is it?" He asked with intrigue and excitement at the thought of gaining a Quirk.
Ryoto smirked and explained." It's called 'Cell Activation' with this power you'll be able to activate a person's cells to heal them, restore their vitality and even improve their overall physical abilities."
Izuku was really intrigued by the ability and it sounded amazing but... he couldn't help but be just a little disappointed. It might sound childish or dellusional but he wanted a Quirk that would give him the ability to stand up to All Might, a powerful Quirk that would give him the ability to overthrow that fake but he did his best not to let that disappoint him. The whole point was that he was going to get a Quirk!
Ryoto seemed to pick up on his disappointment and spoke again." Like I said though you will be getting more than just 'Cell Activation' as you improve but for now this is all I'll give you. You see Quirks take up a certain amount of memory in on our bodies, almost think of it like how a computer only has a limited amount of storage, if you exceed the amount of storage that a person has then they will turn into lifeless dolls."
Izuku internally shuddered at that but Ryoto then held up his hand." However 'Cell Activation' is a useful Quirk because it almost allows someone to cheat that rule. With this power you can upgrade your bodies condition and thus improve the amount of memory which you can safely handle. I'll give you more Quirks but not until your at that point."
Izuku felt a shock of excitement at the prospect of having more than one Quirk but contained himself for once.
Izuku didn't know what the future held but one thing is for certain, even if he gets marked as a villain how is he the bad guy in a world where people like Bakugo get to be Heroes? How is it that the strong get to do as they please and the weak are reduced to little more than living punching bags? Well the sad truth that he's learned- that he's been learning since he was a kid- is that this world tramples the weak and praises the strong for it. The world runs on power, that's all they seem to think about, determination? Sheer will? Intelligence? In the face of raw power that all means nothing to them. What a simple way of thinking. But he'll prove them wrong.
He remembers All Might's words and promises that that fake will know just how realistic he can be.
I've always liked to think of battles like these as a chess game of such. I've always been fond of the game in both of my lifes so it gives me something to easily compare this conflict between me and the Hero society to.
So in my room I have an incomplete chess board which I can use to display all the important players in the coming cause.
The black side represents me and the white side represents the heroes. First we have the pawns on the heroes side, those include average every day heroes for the society to throw at us, not able to move many spaces, there's a surplus of them and the heroes won't hesitate to sacrifice them if that would improve their own plans.
Their rooks are some of the top Pro Heroes such as Endeavour and Hawks whilst their bishops are other enemies such as Eraserhead and U.A principal Nezu, for being annoying but not impossible to deal with, and as for the knights... I'm undecided. But the King and Queen are obvious to me.
The Queen is undoubtedly All Might for possessing the most sway over the people as well as the most physical might, he may be a shell of his old self but he's undoubtedly the most important piece on their board in terms of offense, but he is on a timer, even if he keeps 'One For All' he won't be a threat for much longer.
Then finally we have the King. The piece that they need to keep on their board, the one who determines who will win and who will lose, your probably wondering who could possibly be the King on their board? Who will decide the swing of the game? Who do I need to take down to win this chess match?
Well the answer is simple. The people's trust. A Hero is only a hero because people believe that they are such, as a society that calls themselves heroes they can only exist if the people see them as righteous, if I can get the people of Japan to stop seeing them as bringers of justice then I've won. Because like I've said they're only heroes if the people believe that they are.
I turned my gaze over to my black side of the board. Then we have my pawns which are the members of Paragon who follow me, given their numbers and abilities, as for my rooks we have people like Aoi and Shouko for their power and ability to teleport. We have my knights who are undoubtedly Hoyo and Tokohiro for their loyalty and leadership as my Commanders. My bishops which are Chojuro and Kiruka for their fighting skills and that just leaves my own Queen and King.
The Queen is definitely me, given that my power level is on par with All Might's and my leadership skills are what drew people to my organisation in the first place. I'm the second most important piece overall and the most vital piece in combat given my abilities and connections to powerful backers.
Finally we have my King.
I picked up the black King from the board and after examining it for a moment I placed it on the spot next to the King.
Izuku Midoriya. He is the King on my side.
I gazed at the chess board in front of me and let a satisfactory smirk cross my face at the mental imagery of my side standing victorious.
Life is a chess match, and I'm not going for anything less than a perfect game.
