Sam feels a sudden drop in the sofa cushions next to her as Jack hops down over the back of the couch and his arm drops behind her against the back of it. A new beer appears in her lap. "Do you know what I would do if a bunch of asteroids were falling?"

"Meteors, Sir," she says, adjusting slightly to steady herself against him.

"Sure, whatever, but do you want to know?"

Sam nods her head yes but she has to ask herself what made her agree to the back to back double feature of Armageddon and Deep Impact for team movie night. There's 'in love with your Commanding Officer and can't act on it' being an idiot and there's 'astrophysicist who agrees to watch these movies with that man who definitely wants to push every button she has about the trouble with these movies' being an idiot and tonight she was both.

"I would find you, Carter. Because whatever was going on, you'd be the one to figure out how to fix it," he says, beaming down at her with pride she's not sure how to handle; his eyes are glowing.

"I appreciate that, Colonel, but in that scenario there's a chance I wouldn't be able to fix it."

"Well in that case, Major, there's no one I'd rather have with me to ride out those last couple days," he says. "Or hours." He winks at her, and she just sits next to him as he watches the tsunami overtake Téa Leoni and her father in Deep Impact, trying really hard not to smile.
