AUTHOR'S NOTES, WARNINGS, AND DISCLAIMERS BEFORE THE STORY

I know what everyone who is reading this story is thinking right now. And I am going to say it. YES. I HAVE DONE A FIRE EMBLEM: PATH OF RADIANCE NOVELIZATION ON FFN BEFORE. However, I deleted the story in January 2021 after it got to gimmicky for me when it was overflowing with unrelated content and short chapters. However, here's the funny story: I found the document that the entire story was on. Then, I redid the story by taking out the plagiarized lines, lengthening the chapters, and of course, taking out unnecessary parts that were not really that important. So, as a result, this is a likely non-messed up version of my Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance novelization, complete with a new name.

Unlike the previous story, this version carries out elements from not only the original Japanese version and the localized North American version, but it also carries out elements seen in the PAL (European) versions, too. And, on the talk about OCs, some of the OCs from the original 2020 novelization return. The other OCs from the original novelization were completely scrapped or they were rebuilt from scratch. But, there are new OCs that are introduced that were not seen in the original story, like the pegasus knight Kamaria and the Dark Flier Evelyn. But I tried my best to not fill up this story with too many OCs. On the other hand, there is a diverse set of original characters, as I introduce characters of color in later chapters of the novelization. Kamaria is one such example of a character of color.

This version was first posted on my AO3 on June 15, 2023 as a Mature-rated story after a two-year debate about doing a reupload of this story. While I was doing this version, lots and lots of resources were used in order to get this story novelization right. But, I'll mention the sources used at the end of the story. I ALSO DO NOT OWN THE STORY, CHARACTERS, CONCEPTS, ETC. ETC.

I hope you enjoy this wonderful, fantastic, reuploaded novelization of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance.

A Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance Novelization

CHAPTER 1

The year was 645 on the continent of Tellius. Ashnard, the thirteenth king of Daein feared across the continent as the "Mad King", had several plans up his honored sleeve as king. Those plans were inflicting a continent-wide conflict and releasing the dark god locked inside the historic Lehran's Medallion, also known as the Fire Emblem. When the time came to put his plan into action, he led a ruckus army into the land of Crimea and attacked the nation.

"Yes, Crimea will fall, and everything will be ruled my way!" Ashnard said to himself as Wyvern Riders and Wyvern Lords flew high in the dark and cloudy skies. He later mounted his black dragon, and made away with a roaring flight.

"Has it been completed Ashnard?" asked a Daein soldier when he saw the king.

"Yes." said Ashnard to the soldier. "It has been completed. Crimea will now be nothing but a damned wasteland full of dead corpses, beorc and non-sub-human animals alike! Ahahaha!"

"So what's going to happen now?" asked the soldier.

"I've other plans, you know." Ashnard said. "But, I will be hard at work on those plans with Petrine. What I want you to do is keep the Daein Wyvern Corps under control. That's all I want out of you as a fully-fledged soldier of the fine country of Daein. I'm the king, you know." Ashnard later left for his kingly duties. Little did the people of the neighboring nation of Crimea know that they would land in hot water thanks to the efforts of the Mad King Ashnard, Thirteenth King of Daein. When Petrine, one of Daein's elite "Four Riders" heard about Ashnard's plan, she was all in for it. However, she would not be alone. She had hired a personal tactician-a Red Dragon Laguz named Ena-so that the army would be unstoppable. However, despite the fact that she was in fact one of the Dragon Tribe Laguz of the southwestern, isolated laguz nation of Goldoa, she hardly transformed into her dragon state, mainly because her scales were pink and not pure red, due to her grandfather Nasir being a White Dragon Laguz. No one in the Daein Army even knew she was one of the dragon laguz except for Petrine, who was the one who hired her to begin with. Ena then started to ask multiple questions, even asking if Nasir was going to be involved.

"Maybe... maybe not. You decide, dear Ena." Petrine said. "After all, I was the one who hired you as the Daein army's personal tactician."

"Um... right." Ena said. "Me being a dragon laguz from Goldoa... I'll be sure to protect the army using all the might and power I can offer you!" Ena spoke out. War was about to arise, and violence was about to break out harshly. This was the violence that would become known as The Mad King's War.
