Passing along the main line Neville looked up as he passed under the same bridge he had crashed on, giving a small smile. He speed up as he carried on down the line making stops over at Killdane and Balladrine. Making steady progress, each stop at every station lightened the load then added on even more as trucks kept kept being taken off and added on.
After a lofty trip Neville and Henry where now sitting at Kellsthorpe Road station, with the junction on to the Kirk Ronan branch.
"Well this was a pleasant trip." said Henry as Neville was uncoupled.
"Why would you say that?" he asked backing down.
"I thought you where going to take me Iron works and you know, scrap me."
"Why would I do that?" asked Neville.
"I don't know, after what I heard I thought you some kind of evil engine."
Neville just rolled his eyes.
"I guess Molly was right, I should have listened to her."
"She really is great." smiled Neville all starry eyed.
"Shame James isn't the best, Emily has told me he dose not treat her right."
Keeping quite Neville got on with the work in the yard.
Coming back had one question on his mind.
"Why did I bring you with me." wondered Neville.
"Oh, the next station Crovan's Gate, is where the works is located. You can shunt me to the repairs shed there."
"Okay, at least we have a plan." smiled Neville "Thought you where just along for the ride."
Henry laughed and Neville joined in as the two coupled back up and pulled out of the station.
The pair was making good time and every time someone passed them by, they where shocked to see Neville pulling Henry and his train. So when they arrived at Crovan's Gate Neville pulled in to the yard and came up to the line close by the Skarloey Railway Shed.
"I'll take you to the works now." said Neville.
"Thank you." replied Henry.
The two where uncoupled for the train and Neville took Henry to the works.
"I think we were all wrong about you, I want to apologise for how I acted and treated you."
"Well thank you, it means a lot to have some say sorry."
"It makes me fell better, that you accepted it as well."
"Well I only did it as I know Murdoch didn't mean to spread the murmurous about me."
The two soon reached the works shed.
"I hope the others learn that your not as bad." sighed Henry.
"Maybe you can change their mind." smiled Neville.
Leaving him inside Neville left to get back to the train.
Carrying on up the line he found without Henry the train was by-far a bit lighter and carried on with a brisk pace, passing on to Ballahoo and at last onwards towards Vicarstown before he carried on to Barrow at the end of the line. Pulling in to the yard he found his trucks but also found a single engine shunting in the yard.
"Hello." smiled Neville "I don't think we've met."
"Oh, and who are you?" asked the Engine grunting as they sneaked about the yard.
"I'm Neville the new engine, I past by here the other day."
The engine manoeuvred though the yard. "I heard rumours about you." they said.
"Well they're all false."
"I'd say." he butted in "Why would any self respecting diesel work with a steam engine."
Neville pouted "I've met some nice diesels."
"Then they're not proper engines."
"Why are you even here?" asked Neville.
"The Fat Controller says I can't be of trouble up here, since they moved the shed to the west end of the line."
Neville pulled a face as he collected his trucks.
"And I can't wait until Burrow is closed so that everyone stops here." he said oiling away.
Neville shunted the trucks in to place and left the yard, looking back at the diesel in the yard who kept working as he shunted trucks.
Leaving the yard and the station behind Neville started to speed up as he came towards the bridge to cross over in to other railway.
Arriving at Barrow Neville was beaming and the few other engines there seemed disgusted looking at the engine that had just arrived. Before he was bale to leave the station master came to see him.
"I know , I'll take the train to the yard." said Neville.
"It's not that." said the Station master "We received a call form Sir Topham hat."
Neville was worried.
"He heard about what happened, and is not happy with what happened at Wellsworth and wants you to hand over the train at Crovan's gate."
Neville looked a bit worried as he pulled away, and made his way to the yard.
Neville spent some time at Burrow as he spoke to Whiff again before setting off with his train. With great speed he made his way down the line until his arrival at Crovan's Gate where he met a happy and repaired Henry. Passing over the train he left it with him and carried on down the line, racing though and passing each station.
Nothing seemed to sour his mood until he was coming up towards Wellsworth, where he saw the Fat controller, waiting for him with a disapproving look on his face. Coming to a stop he looked at the Fat Controller.
"Well, this is not what I was expecting." he said as he looked at Neville.
"I'm sorry sir."
"I was disappointed with you and Henry, with your actions. But I'm glad to say you where a safe bet to operate the branch, and I think you will make a fine addition if you wish to stay after your trail is over."
Neville smiled as he left to collect a train.
"But I want you at Killdane not Brendam, that's why I brought you on."
"Yes sir of course sir." smiled Neville.
"And one more, thing. I don't want any more slip ups."
Neville agreed, but hopped no more would his way.
