His eyes were closed.
He was so tired he didn't want to open them, it felt like a shore to even have his senses working, but he can't ask for them to be removed now can he? And just because he's feeling tired no less.
It didn't matter, besides being tired he felt like he was being carried by someone, that someone seemed to have a hard time doing it, as apparent from the whistle sounds he keeps hearing them make and the deep breaths they keep taking every now and again.
He heard a feminine voice breathing out "finally!" Panting a good deal after that
This prompted Izuku to slowly open his eyelids, first noticing that the person who was carrying him was Uraraka, which was impressive because from the sounds of it she has been carrying him for a long time.
The second thing he noticed was that they were in a clearing in the forest, much bigger than the one he found Uraraka in.
This one in particular had something fascinating at the middle of it, a massive wooden door with a multitude of rocks, some having moss on them, covering its frames.
There were also a few yet big circles with words scribbled on them, drawn on the ground with the door being in the middle of them.
Uraraka (supposedly) looked to her shoulder to see Izuku staring at the gate in front of him, this made her smile, for a few reasons.
One. The man that rescued her seems to be fine.
Two. This happened before she took him to the village, which means he won't wake up in an unknown location.
Three. She can finally take him off her back!
'Carrying him the whole way here was killing me'
She gently laid him on the ground and turned around to check on him.
"Are you feeling well?" She got uncomfortably close to Izuku to ask that question, even though it was just to check on him
"I-I am!" he laughed nervously while sheepishly rubbing the back of his head, a noticeable blush on his face.
"Are you sure? Your face is red, could you be coming down with an illness? Did that attack take that much out of you?" Each subsequent question she got closer and closer to his face to inspect him even more.
"I assure you I am fine!" Waving his hands in between their faces and slowly backing away from the embarrassment.
'Can't you have a backbone while talking to girls Izuku?' He asked himself rhetorically.
"Anyway, thank you Uraraka-san for helping me get here" trying to change the subject quickly Izuku spat that name out completely forgetting his situation.
"Uraraka? Who is that?" That response quickly brought him back to the reality he was in, for better or for worse, as far as he can tell, he is trapped in a game, and if those old mangas and light novels are anything to go by, he was transported to the game Mineta had him play with him.
"Oh I'm sorry, you looked exactly like someone I know with that name that I couldn't help calling you that" his gaze shifted downward yet still held an empty smile on his face, trying to not make himself look sad in front of the girl he just saved.
"I see! She must be an awesome person!" She didn't show or say it, but she felt a sense of sadness arise in her saviour, the least she could now is help him in any way she can.
"By the way! Let's introduce ourselves!" This caught the attention of Izuku and so he brought his gaze up to the girl beaming with light before him.
"My name is Ochako! And thank you for saving me! I'll never forget it!" She was quite the energetic fellow it seemed, and her name...
'She has the same first name as Uraraka-san' that of course struck him as odd, having a person that looks almost exactly like Ochako might be accidental, but for them to have the same name? Something fishy is going on.
Just moments prior Izuku had a good feeling that he was in the game he and Mineta were about to play, but this throws a wrench in that, because how would a character like her exist in here, there are only three possible options and all of them have some very bad implications.
Firstly, the game devs could've modelled the character after Ochako which is a _very_ bad thing to do without permission, especially since he was sure that Ochako never said anything about working with a game company to model a character after her.
Secondly, this could be the work of Mineta, which would be both impressive and creepy, even criminal, impressive in how he made perfect recreations of her, or less impressively, paid someone to do so, and the creepy factor comes from the fact that this game (or supposedly the game Mineta wanted to play anyway) is a dating sim, so by changing the characters to this look, Izuku didn't need to think further into it to explain how creepy that behaviour was.
And Mineta is- No.
No matter how weird or inappropriate at times Mineta can be, this is something he will never, never do.
And lastly, the game when it trapped Izuku, it recreated the world using his memories and the people he knew as a base, either partially or for the entire world, and that terrified him, the possibility of all of the villains he fought with their powers in this type of world, free to do what they like, is a dreadful thought.
Now that Izuku has entered his overthinking mode, the worse his imagination got, these three options got worse and worse the more he looked at them, and if he thinks about it a little bit, these aren't the only possibilities, because how would he know that he was transported to the game world for all he knew he might not have been, this might've been a world similar to the game world with people familiar to him, or it might be a different one altogether and-
"So what's your name?" Before his mind could ponder the endless possibilities, each more than likely more grim than the last, he was brought back by the cheerful voice of the girl beside him.
'Even in a different world, and a different life, she still is Uraraka' a small yet hopeful smile formed on his face.
"My name is-" and he immediately went into overthinking mode again.
'Wait, if this is a fantasy world, especially like those old manga and light novel fantasy worlds I read about, and also I was transported here, does that mean it runs by the same rules that most of them do, does that mean commoners don't have a family name? and if so will it seem weird if I had one?'
He looked towards the anticipating girl in the eyes with a nervous smile "I-Izuku, my name is Izuku, it's nice to meet you Ochako-san"
'Perfect, whether people have family names or not, if I give my first name it would solve the issue immediately with no need to overcomplicate it further, if only nobility has family names in this world I avoided doing a mistake but issuing mine, and if they don't I'll just seem overly friendly at worst for sharing my first name on a first meeting'
"Izuku? That's such a wonderful name! Glad to meet you izuku-kun!"
A small blush tinted his cheeks as he started scratching it with his finger slowly.
Now that he calmed down and introductions were off the way, he can safely guess where he's at at the moment.
'What they call a dungeon perhaps.'
A dungeon, a location popular in mmo rpgs and fantasy stories, it is a place usually riddled with a never ending number of monsters and are decided by rank or level depending in the setting, the bigger the rank or level the harder and more dangerous the dungeon is, but the better the lot and reward.
Dungeons not only house monsters, but treasures never before seen, be it items or materials that monsters drop upon death, or treasure rooms filled with gold, jewellery and weapons or anything of value, making them a prime place for people called adventurers to make a living out of by blundering it for loot and growing in strength.
'At least that's how it usually goes in most stories or games.' At this point none of what Izuku has just thought about seemed that far fetched to apply here, he was transported into a fantasy world that was a game_and a very hard one at that_ he fought a slime, and met a person that resembles someone he knew from another world.
It all seemed a bit cliched in a way, except for him almost losing his life from carelessness there.
"Ura- Ochako-san, are you an adventurer?" Today it seems that Izuku kept coming down with a bad case of blushing because he can't stop doing it.
'Damn it! Trying to say her name so casually is embarrassing!'
"Yes! Why else would I come to the dungeon for, it's too dangerous for non adventurers! Especially on such a low floor!" A quick outburst with her hands out in the air and her face close to Izuku's, too close for both of their comfort.
They both blushed heavily and retracted from each other.
Ochako ended up pouting "I'm a D-rank adventurer you know." she grumbled to herself.
That sentence made her mind wonder, an idea hit her and her eyes shown brightly, completely forgetting the embarrassment she just experienced. She was all up in Izuku's face again.
"What rank are you, Izuku! You must be at least an S rank! Maybe even a holy knight or something cool like that! *gasp* What's your class?!? It must super dooper strong!" Her excitement and anticipation was through the roof, the thing Izuku pulled off in the forest.
"You must so amazing to come to be able to confidently come to a B-rank dungeon and too such a low floor alone!"
'Oh no! I forgot to think of something to cover that up!' His embarrassment has been replaced with nervousness as he raced to think of something.
"It am..."
"You are?" The stars of anticipation burnt holes in Izuku's consciousness.
"Not an adventurer."
"Then you must be-"
"Neither a holy knight nor anything amazing like that."
"Oh." Her excitement vanished just like that, but that didn't kill off her hope.
"Well your class has to at least be-"
"I'm just a plain old swordsman." Her hopes dashed once again, but Izuku is not out of her crosshair yet.
"Then what was that move in the forest! How do you explain that?!?" And then came the tough question.
'Crap baskets.' He can't dodge this one no matter what, and he had to explain it in a way that would make it less suspicious if he were to use One For All again.
After a long pause with Izuku sweating bullets and Ochako's pouting face staring at him he came to a conclusion.
"It was a relic." And that was the best he could come up with.
"A family relic passed down for an untold amount of generations! It stores magic constantly so that's why with ages it became this strong! And I can't use it regularly as well!" Please buy that was mostly what was going through his head at that moment.
"That's...amazing!" And buy it she did.
"Your family must be a nobility then to have such an item at their disposal!"
"Actually my family isn't a nobility." Izuku seems to not want to let any of Ochako's fantasies come to light.
"Oh! Then maybe they were nobility in the past! Wait, where are you from Izuku?" This is getting too dangerous.
Izuku needed to stop being swept up by the situation and put his foot down, or he might complicate his situation the longer this goes on.
"I-i don't feel like talking about at the moment" shutting the conversation completely off is the best for now.
"Oh- I understand, we just got off of that long battle and you haven't fully recovered yet, and here I am bombarding my saviour with questions." She felt like hitting herself in the head for doing that but was quickly reassured by Izuku.
"I-it's alright! I'll hopefully answer the rest of your questions sometime later!" This seemed to put her in a good mood which Izuku liked.
But he needed to remember that this isn't the Ochako he knew, them having the same face really is messing with Izuku, acting familiar with a person you never met can lead to problems.
"Well I'll be heading out first, make sure to check your stuff before leaving as well!" After saying see she went to the gate and uttered the words 'exist' to which she was engulfed in a blue light and then vanished from sight.
"That's probably how one gets in and out of here, I'll need to learn the mechanics of this place sooner or later" Izuku stood up from the ground and started checking himself.
'A sword, my clothes that were ripped in some places due to the slime and 5 potions' Izuku really lamented not checking himself before that fight, but what is done is done, he can't keep crying over spilt milk.
He may have been close to death there but he made it out safe and sound in the end both him and the person he wanted to save, and that's what's important in the end.
As he readied himself to leave a d stepped in the circle before the gate, something popped out of thin air in front of him.
It was a clear blue panel with white outlines, you might think it would be hard to spot in an environment filled with cold colours but it distinguishes itself to the person that sees it with a glow that follows it.

[Welcome New User, Midoriya Izuku!]
"W-WHAT?!?"
This was an unexpected development that Izuku didn't account for.
Sure he was thrown into a fantasy world, and sure everything so far has felt like a lot of those fantasy stories, but isn't this too out of this world, was this perhaps the work of some dream manipulating quirk and he's currently unconscious or-
[We'll finally be able to talk to him!]
A familiar voice graced Izuku's ears.
[Yay!!!]
Multiple in fact, the first was of his perverted friend mineta followed by the cheers of what seemed to be the whole class.
"Huh."
[Wait, can he hear us already?]
[Maybe, I guess that's why he's confused.]
[I would be just as confused as him if I was in that situation.]
[We're gonna have so much explaining to give to aizawa-sensei when he gets here.]
