Kate McGregor who was sixteen years old was staying at her friend's house one weekend to get away from her own mother. When she was at her friend's house it was Friday night and was having dinner. They were talking about family members.
"Charlie, Briain called this afternoon"
"Yeah did they get the results back"
"Who Brian?" Kate asks her friend Val.
"Mum's cousin on her mother's side"
"Ok" Kate said as she took a mouthful of water.
"Bad news is that Janet can't have children and the only way is for them to adopt or they go to an egg bank or family members sell their eggs"
"shame that Janet can't have children"

"Mum, I read that women sell their eggs for between fifteen hundred to five thousand dollars," Val said.
"That's a lot of money for one egg," Kate said.
"It is" they talk some more before changing the subject.
Two months later Kate showed up to Val's place where she met Brian and Janet. Brian got ginger hair and blue eyes and Janet got the same color hair and eyes as Kate. They both are in their thirties and they have a friend with them.
"Kate, this is our friend Maxine White" Janet said.
"Hi, it's nice to meet you," Kate said as they shook hands.
"you to Kate"
"Kate, I'm pleased you're here," Val said.
"You know I come here on weekends, what's going on"
"Kate, I was thinking, just hear me out. You know that Janet can't have children"
"Yes"
"you need money to get your driver's license and learn how to drive"
"Yes"
"Well how about you sell your eggs to Janet and Brian" Kate looked shocked.
"What, me sell me eggs, why not you"
"Kate, you and Brian have the same blood type, I don't have the same blood type as either of them. Plus with being the same blood type there are more than ninety percent that it will work compared to five percent with three different blood types"
"But what about families, don't they have more of a chance?"
"I was adopted when I was a baby," Brian said.
"Oh" Kate said thinking about what Val just told her.
"I got two brothers"
"what do you say Kate"
"I need time to think about it"
"We understand," Janet said. They talk more about it and the process to have it done.
Two weeks later Kate saw Janet. "Mrs Johnson"
"Kate how are you"
"I'm good, thanks. I thought about Janet and Brian offering and telling them i'll do it" Janet smile
"Oh Kate, they would be so happy with the news. I'll call them as soon as I get home"
"Ok if they want to, next week a good time"
"I'll tell them, they would be so happy with this"
"I know they will be."
Week later Val and Kate arrived in Sydney and it was also the school holidays so they spent it with Brian and Janet. Two days after arriving in Sydney Kate, Val and Janet were at the fertility clinic where Kate was lying on the table and the doctor and nurse were watching the screen while Kate was relaxing while talking to Val and Janet since they were distracting her.
"All done Kate, we removed three eggs and we are going to check to see which ones are the good ones"
"Ok"
Hour later the three of them walked out of the building and headed back to the house where Kate could rest for the rest of the day. "If all goes well you and Brian will be holding your baby in your arms by next year" Kate said.
"all thanks to you Kate"
"Yeah"
One week later Kate and Val were with Brian and Janet when they walked into the clinic to have the eggs implanted. While they were waiting they were surprised to see Maxine White there. "Maxine this is a surprise"
"Janet, yeah it is"
"Are you ok, I didn't know you and Stewart are having problems trying to have a baby"
"AHH… I am just dropping off the cup and now waiting for them to call me in, so you have it done as well"
"Yes we are" then a woman walks out and over to them
"Maxine White"
"Yes"
"This way ma'am"
"Good luck Maxine," Janet said.
"You too," Maxine followed the woman through the door.
Twenty minutes later Janet was called into a room where she was having it done as well. when it was done. "All we can do is wait," Brian said.
"and think positive," Kate said.
"Good idea," Val said smiling.
Six and a half months later when Kate arrived at school she saw Val running over to her smiling face. "Kate, Kate"
"Val what's going on? Why are you so happy"
"Brain called just before i left for school, Janet had twins, one of each"
"Twins oh my god, twins. they are early"
"According to the doctor they are fine and healthy even though they are over two months early."
"At least they are happy now that they got a family that they always wanted"

"Yeah. I'm happy for them."
Ten weeks later Kate learns that Maxine White gave birth to non identical twin boys.
