Nanny McThief

Please do not hate me for this but this story take place during the events of Season 3. In the period where… Chloe and Pierce are together. Trust me; some parts were not easy for me to write. But this has been crossing my mind for a while now, and I wanted to see it through. Hope you like it.

Also, in this story… I'll be introducing another brand new original character! I hope you like her.

Summery: The group are sent to investigate the murder of a young nanny who was found stuffed into a tumble dryer, and later discover her death connects to a string of robberies that have been occurring in the area. Chloe tries to make Jophiel and Pierce get along for the sake of her own relationship with him with Ella's help. Jophiel receives a visit from a very famous friend. Lucifer goes to great lengths to keep his distance from Chloe and Pierce by spending more time with Jophiel's friend. How will Chloe react to this? Meanwhile, Charlotte attends her first therapy sustention with Linda after discovering the truth about the Celestial World.

In the basement of an apartment building, an elderly woman comes to down to place her dirty clothes into an available washing machine. Upon entering the buildings laundry room, the old woman hears a dryer filled with someone else's clothes running, but found it strange that there was no one there waiting for their clothes to be done. At first, she just ignores it and continues to focus on her own laundry. Then suddenly, she heard a loud 'thump' coming from within the dryer.

Curious, the old woman walked very slowly towards the dryer to investigate. By the time she reached the dryer, the timer went off and set off an alarm. Meaning, everything inside was finished. Once it stopped, the old woman could see something else inside that wasn't a piece of clothing, and it left 'red stains on the window.' When she finally found the courage to open the door… she screams in horror as the body of a young blonde-haired woman slips out halfway with her eyes wide open and her face covered in her own blood!

Meanwhile, Chloe and Pierce were having brunch together in his office. Within the last week or so, they have continued to grow closer and have been spending a lot more time together. In fact, they've recently reached the… "Physical intimacy stage" of their relationship.

And although Chloe has been happy and enjoying her time with Pierce, she was still slightly insecure about expressing the happiness of her newfound romance and tried hiding it from those she knew. For example, whenever she and Pierce decided to kiss or hug in the workplace, she suddenly stops and pulls away from him whenever one of her friends or colleagues sees them together. (Much to Pierce's dismay)

Yet, through it all, Pierce remained relaxed, patient, reassuring and seemingly agreeable to Chloe's terms of wanting to keep the romance between them to a minimum while in the workplace. All while continuing to show no concerns for other people's judgements.

In addition, because their relationship was still new to her, Chloe hasn't found the right opportunity introduce Pierce to Trixie yet. Her friends on the other hand, were already well aware of the seriousness of her relationship with Pierce. However, "some of them" weren't entirely fine with it.

Unlike Ella, who's been showing her full support for "Team Pecker and their future gorgeous babies." Dan also showed his support for Chloe's happiness, but he still had some concerns regarding Pierce himself. Given the fact that Dan had an unpleasant daylong experience with him.

As for Lucifer, after watching them ride off together, he's been spending less time at the precinct and more time at LUX. Either at the bar or up in the penthouse, drinking, playing sad melodies on the piano, making moves on attractive women and convincing them to sleep with him, and only showing up to crime scenes when he deems them an "interesting level case." Clearly avoiding Chloe because he hates the fact that she seems more happier with Pierce than she ever did with him. (Which he refuses to admit it)

And because Lucifer's been spending more time at home, Jophiel has been forced to take the bus into work everyday. (Which she doesn't mind in the slightest) Most days when she's available, Ella willingly drives them into work.

# What? I don't have a car and my license expired. Anyway, as for me, you already know how I feel about… "Pecker." Ugh, just saying that name makes me yak. Anyway, unlike my brother's suspicions, I know for a fact that Pierce's intention's aren't pure. Ever since they've been going out, my Tingly Wings have been shaking like a rocket before blast-off. He's obviously using Chloe for something, and whatever the hell it is, I just know he's going to hurt her in the end. Unfortunately, I can't say anything to Chloe because she's been heavily dosed with Love-Haze. Ergo, she's too hopped up to believe or even see the kind of person Pierce really is. All I can do at this point is give them my 'Disapproving glare' whenever I'm in the same room as them.

Moreover, when the case of the young woman found in the dryer came to light, Jophiel was the one to enter Pierce's office and deliver the news to the "happy couple." As said before, the moment she saw them together, Jophiel showed them her 'disapproving glare' by squinting her eyes, shaking her head and frowning her lips while passing the new case file.

# The moment I walked in, Chloe and Pierce were sitting at the table, making goo-goo eyes at each other and giggling. Well, Chloe was the one giggling; we all know what Pierce is truly like. Which leads me to the question… What could Pierce possibly say that Chloe would find so funny? His sense of humour is just like his heart. Dark and non-existent.

As for the new case that was just handed to them, Chloe was already prepared to take it on, and because he was busy with extensive paperwork, Pierce was "sadly" unable to attend. (Which was beneficial from Jophiel's point of view)

Before departing, Jophiel had the displeasure of witnessing Chloe plant a kiss of Pierce's lips. In response, Jophiel yelled out 'Ugh,' before finally leaving the room in disgust. Although it shouldn't have bothered her… Chloe somehow allowed Jophiel's reaction from seeing her affections towards Pierce trouble her. When Pierce noticed this, he then willingly acknowledged Chloe's feelings.

Pierce: Hey, you okay?

Chloe: Yeah, yeah, i'm fine. It's just that… I wasn't expecting Joei to react that way about us.

Pierce: I don't understand. Why is that important?

Chloe: Oh, no, it's not. It's just that… you know… Joei is one of my best friends, she tutors my daughter, we all work together, and the last thing I want is to make things wired and awkward when we're at work.

Pierce: Why does it have to be weird and awkward? Chloe, I told you before, I don't care who knows about us. But if you really want to keep things just between us, and outside of work, then that's not a deal breaker for me.

Chloe: Really? You don't mind being a little discrete while at work?

Pierce: Of course not. If it's what you want then I'm completely on-board.

Chloe: You always know exactly what to say, Marcus.

Pierce: Well, you make it easy because you're worth it.

The two then shared another kiss before Chloe finally stepped out of Pierce's office, looked around the area until she spotted Jophiel making her way towards the lab. Even though she and Pierce had already agreed to be more discrete at work, Jophiel's previous reaction still troubled Chloe, and a strong part of her wanted to know why Jophiel reacted the way she did. Once Chloe spotted her, she quickly approached Jophiel just moments before she could reach the door.

Chloe: Hey, um, Joei, do you have a minute?

Jophiel: Sadly, no, I have to get my gear together for that new case that just popped in, remember?

Chloe: Oh, yeah, yeah, sure. Sorry, I was just hoping we could talk about… "That thing" that just happened in Pierce's office

Jophiel: What thing?

Chloe: The dirty look, and the 'Ugh,' sound you gave us when you handed in that case file.

Jophiel: Oh, yeah. No, I wasn't 'ugh-ing' at the two of you, I was just 'ugh-ing' at him.

Chloe: What? Why? Do you have a problem with Marcus, or something?

Jophiel: Ummm…

# What was I supposed to say? As I said before, I couldn't tell her the truth even if I wanted to. And unfortunately for me, one of the most important rules of friendship… Never badmouth the boyfriend even if what you say might be true. Otherwise you'd risk losing that friend. Trust me, I've been down this road before and the last thing I want is to go down it again. Even if means my hands are tied, and there's nothing I can do about it without some serious proof.

Luckily, Jophiel didn't need to say anything because Chloe recalled something quite crucial about the relationship she has with Pierce. Ever since the day they met, Jophiel has shown a very strong disliking towards him, and previously before they even got together, whenever Ella implied that there was a spark between Chloe and Pierce, Jophiel was already opposed to the idea of them being a couple. Now that they are a couple, Jophiel is even more dead-set against the relationship.

In addition, Chloe recalled hearing rumours from the other uni's that Jophiel was seen dancing around like a ballerina when she learned that Pierce was planning to leave the department, but when he changed his mind… Jophiel spent the next day slouching and frowning. Clearly showing she was disappointed when Pierce decided to stay.

This promotes Chloe to figure out exactly why Jophiel doesn't like Pierce and intends to fix it. Because from her perspective, if Chloe's best friend and boyfriend can't get along, then that could put a strain on her relationships with either of them. And given what happened with Maze, Chloe didn't intend on losing another friend. Especially one who still has a bond with her daughter.

To start, shortly after Jophiel grabbed her gear and prepared to leave with the forensics team, Chloe entered the lab hoping to see Ella there. Since she and Jophiel are best friends, Chloe figured that maybe Ella knows the reason why Jophiel doesn't like Pierce.

Chloe: Hey, Ella, you busy?

Ella: Ah, yeah. Joei told me we have new case so I'm just getting gear ready.

Chloe: Oh. Well, then I guess we could talk later.

Ella: Sure. About what? Is everything okay? Is it you and Pierce? Are you guys already having problems? Because if you are, I can totally ride with you to the crime scene instead, so we can talk it all out. I can just call Joei, and she'll…

Chloe: No, no… (Pauses to think for a moment before deciding…) You know what? I think that's actually a good idea, Ella. We can talk on our way to the crime scene. Come on.

Ella: Great. I'll just text Joei and let her know that I'll be riding with you.

# I didn't even need an explanation. The second Ella sent me that text and said she was driving with Chloe, I already what their topic was in regards to. Finding out why I don't like Pierce. Which should be so obvious to know.

After Ella informed Jophiel of her decision to ride with Chloe, said she was fine with it, then Ella got into Chloe's car and the two began their talk that lasted for exactly 22 minutes.

Ella: So, how are things going for the "Hottest couple in the precinct?" Cause,' not to give off any creepy stalker vibes here, but, I've been sensing some real, *Seductive tone* crazy, lustful, and passionate heat between you two. Seriously, you guys could light some fireworks with all that fire burning off of you.

Chloe: Okay, okay, thanks, Ella. And yeah, things have been going great between me and Marcus so far (Ella: Mm-hmm). I mean, he's just been so patient, and he's so cool with everything, easy-going, and he's so generous (Ella: Ooh…). And I know it's still a little early but… I think things are starting to get pretty serious… (Ella: Ah…)But… (Ella: Oh.) But I think it might be making "other people" uncomfortable.

Ella: What?! That is insane. Everyone knows that you and Pierce are so perfect for each other. Who could possibly have a problem with it?

Chloe: Well, um… That's actually what I wanted to talk to you about. it's joei.

Ella: Joei? Joei?! Joei doesn't adore "Pecker?" Doesn't she realize that you two will one day make the most gorgeous babies the world has ever seen? What is going inside that head of hers?

Chloe: Well, I don' think there is actually anything wrong with her, Ella. But I do know for some reason, Joei doesn't like Marcus. And since I know that you two are closer than anyone else in the precinct, I was wondering if you knew why.

Ella: Well, I can't think of… (Quickly realizes…) You know, not that I think about it… On a couple of occasions, Joei has "implied" that she may not… "fully appreciate" Pierce the way you and I do. Which is crazy because we both know Pierce is the best, right. I bet she doesn't even know why she doesn't like him.

# List of reasons why I don't like Pierce.

1. He's bitter, miserable and rude

2. He's cold, and distant

3. He's lying about who he really is and his intentions

4. He's a murderer

5. He's the dangerously corrupted crime-boss known as the Sinnerman

6. He's clearly using Chloe as some kind pawn for his own gain!

Chloe: Well, she must think something is wrong with him because earlier this morning, she came into his office to drop off the case file, she took one look at us together, said, 'Ugh,' gave a dirty look, and then left. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen Joei act that way around anyone. I just wish I knew why.

Ella: Have you tried asking her?

Chloe: I did but she wouldn't say anything.

Ella: Well, then, maybe I can try. I can try finding out for you.

Chloe: Uh, that would actually be really helpful. Thanks, Ella.

Ella: No prob, Decker. Anything for your future gorgeous babies. I'll squeeze the truth out of her and find out why Jophiel Dina is trying to stomp on the greatest couple ever.

Soon enough, the group finally arrived at the crime-scene. Upon their arrival, Lucifer was the last to attend as he was previously "tied up at home." Nonetheless, he arrived just time to hear Dan give out the details regarding the victim. Also, when she saw him for the first time in over a week, Chloe was slightly surprised by Lucifer's sudden presence in the area.

Lucifer: Good morning, Detective. Sorry I'm a little late. I got a little "tied up at home." But I'm here now, just in time to hear Daniel give out the boring details regarding the poor victim.

Chloe: Lucifer, hi. I didn't know you were coming in today.

Lucifer: Yes, well, since there haven't been any interesting cases for me lately, I've decided to stay at home until things perked up. But when Jophiel called me and told me about this particular case, I thought it might hold some potential, so I just drove right over. Right, so, shall we meet our lastest victim?

At first, there was no sign of the victim's belongings that could be used to identify her. Thankfully, after speaking with the doorman and a few of the neighbours, Dan was able to confirm that the victim was a 26-year old nanny named Amy Curtis. According to the neighbours, she nannied the Williams children on the 8th floor for the last three years.

Her cause of death appeared to be blunt force trauma from hitting her head against the counter (Meaning, the murder took place in the laundry room), but Ella confirmed that Amy's actual cause of death was strangulation. Based on the hand markings on her neck, the blood splatter on the counter, and the defensive wounds on the victim's arms, Amy struggled with her assailant but she was overpowered. Which caused her to fall and hit her head against the counter, and then the killer finished her off by chocking her to death before placing her body into the dryer.

Lucifer: The killer certainly didn't have enough time to give her the full rinse cycle.

As for victims the time of death, it was difficult to pinpoint because the dryer was heated. Which prevented the victim from showing her temperature and lividity. However, since the old woman was there to see the dryer running before it stopped, this meant that the body was tossed in less than an hour ago. Officially putting the time of death between 10:45 to 11:45 that same morning.

Next, Chloe and Lucifer rode the elevator up to the 8th floor to speak with Amy's employer's, the Williams. They were a family of four. The father John, the mother Johanna and their two children. A ten-year-old son named Jamie and a four-year-old girl named Isabell. Moreover, as they were riding the elevator together, Chloe and Lucifer struggled to communicate given recent events regarding Chloe's new dating life and Lucifer's sudden reappearance after his weeklong absence.

Chloe: So, um… how you've been?

Lucifer: Oh, well, you know me, Detective. Wine, women and song. Going from one party to the next within one night, and it always ending with a lot of excitement and sex until the next evening. My life couldn't get any better.

Chloe: Oh, well, good for you.

Lucifer: Yes. And… how are things going with you and Pierce? I mean, I know it's probably been a while for you, but if I'd like any pointers on how to improve your sex life, I know this amazing thing you can do with this…

Chloe: No! No, thank you, Lucifer. I'm not having a conversation about my sex life with you. It's none of your business. But if you most know, things between Pierce and I have been just great. No tips rquired.

Lucifer: Oh… great.

For the rest of the elevator ride, Chloe and Lucifer stood in awkward silence. Thankfully, it came to a close when they finally reached the 8th floor. Upon their arrival, Lucifer and Chloe approached the Williams' resistance, knocked on the door, awaited an answer, saw that it was the mother, Joanna, Chloe and Lucifer introduced themselves and requested to be let in so they could ask her and her husband questions about Amy Curtis.

Beforehand, Joanna sent her children to watch TV in their bedroom so they wouldn't hear their parents conversation with the cops. Once the four of them were alone in the den without the children involved, Chloe and Lucifer had already informed the parents of Amy's tragic death.

When told, the Williams were utterly shocked by the news because not only was Amy their best nanny, but she also shared a bond with the children, and the rest of the family had gotten to know her on a personal level. Making this a great loss for them.

Mr and Mrs Williams then explained what they thought when they first saw the police cars parked outside. They assumed another resident in the building was robbed. According to them, within the last 2 months, there have been five reported robberies in the district, and so far, only two of them took place in their very building. Forcing John to install a keypad lock in order to keep their family home safe.

Lucifer: Right, and you think these petty burglars are responsible for stuffing your dead nanny into the tumble dryer downstairs?

Joanna: What? Oh, my, god, that's how you found her?

Chloe: Lucifer! I am so sorry for my partner. Anyway, when was the last time you saw Amy?

In response, John and Joanna clamed Amy came over to the apartment earlier that same morning around seven so she would be on time for her usual morning walk with the kids to school. Afterwards, Amy would return to the Williams' residents at the same time both the parents were already at work and do chores for them. Dusting, vacuuming, making the beds and Amy would also do the children's laundry. Meaning, she was either bringing down the children's laundry or retrieving them when she was murdered.

Joanna: God, this is my fault, I should've known something was wrong.

John: Honey, there's no way you could've known.

Chloe: Known what?

Sometime before the police arrived, Joanna was in her office when she received a call from her children's school, informing her that Amy failed to pick them up during their half-day. Which was unusual because Amy was always on time to retrieve the kids and she would call if she were indeed running late beforehand. But when Joanna tried to call her, Amy's phone went straight to voicemail. Leading Johanna to drive down and pick up the kids herself. Which should have been her first clue that something was wrong.

Moreover, Chloe proceeded to ask the Williams more questions about Amy. Example, If they noticed her acting strange recently (As in upset, worried, or scared), or if she was having problems with someone in her life, or if she had any family, friends, or even a boyfriend she might have confided in.

From what they could gather from Mr and Mrs Williams, Amy didn't like sharing too much about her personal life but they were aware of Amy's family living in San-Francisco. They were confident she didn't have a boyfriend, but she did have a best friend named Emma Muntz, who does live in Los-Angeles and worked at the same Nanny agency as Amy. Ergo, Chloe and Lucifer needed to contact her next.

As for any strange behaviour, the Williams believed that things seemed normal in Amy's life. It didn't seem like something was troubling her. However, Joanna recalled Amy having a strong attachment to an olive-green shoulder bag (With personalized badages) she carried with her on a daily basis. Which may have related to the recent robberies, because it likely caused Amy to become tense enough to have a tighter grip on it. She never went anywhere without her bag strapped to her. Not even to another room.

Leading to the conclusion, that Amy was carrying her bag when she went downstairs to the laundry room. And since the LAPD were still unable to find it, this lead them to believe the killer stole it.

Furthermore, before departing from the Williams residence, Chloe requested the contact information for the agency Amy worked at. Given the circumstances, John and Joanna were more than willing to help with the investigation. Once given the phone number, Chloe, Lucifer and the Williams finally parted ways. Afterwards, Chloe and Lucifer once again made their way towards the elevator.

Lucifer: So, what do you think? Do you think Amy's untimely death connects to the robberies?

Chloe: I don't know. I mean, for all know, Amy and these robberies arean't connected at all.

Lucifer: Then why would they steal her precious purse?

Chloe: I don't know. Maybe the killer left some DNA on the bag, so they took it so wouldn't know who.

Lucifer: Well, either way, I've certainly chosen the right week to come into work. This case continues to hold exiting potential. (He says as he and Chloe enter the elevator and descend to the bottom floor)

Meanwhile from downstairs, Ella and Jophiel had just finished collecting evidence to bring back to the precinct (Yet, they were still unable to locate Amy's bag). However, just before they left the area, Ella took this moment to fulfil Chloe's request and uncover the true reason why Jophiel doesn't like Pierce.

Ella: Say, do you know who could really help us with this case? Pierce. You know, because he's so smart, and stoic, and so devoted to his job that he could probably solve this whole case within five minutes. That's pretty impressive, don't you think?

Jophiel: ^Cap &Gloves: On^ Funny, Sherlock Holmes has the same qualities, and yet he's more successful with his book series. Regardless of the fact that he's fictional. Although, I much prefer him over Pierce.

Ella: Okay. So, um, guess what happened the other day. I was in the kitchen making myself some coffee, right. And just as I was about to pour in some milk, I find out we didn't have any the fridge. But then…

Jophiel: Let me guess; Pierce brought in some fresh milk for ye.

Ella: Yes! It was so generous of him. He went out of his way to go and get milk for everyone in the department. He didn't even offer. He just went ahead and did it anyway. One of Pierce's best qualities. Always willing to make grand gestures for everyone. He is such a people-person.

Jophiel: Ella, the nearest shop to buy milk is a five-minute walk from the precinct. No effort or grand gesture required. Also I know what you're trying to do here. Chloe told you that it's bothering her that I don't get along with Pierce, so she sent you to find out why and hope I will finally perk up to him. Which is a waste of time because it's not happening.

Ella: What?! Come on, Joei. You can't possibly think that… Yeah. Yeah, she did. But I mean, can you blame her? I mean, what could you possibly have against Pierce,? I mean, he's so brave, determined, he gives off that wicked 'sexy badass motorcycle rider' vibe and he makes Chloe so happy. I mean, why can't you two get along for her sake?

Jophiel: Well, I guess you'll never know as long as you're Chloe's mole.

Ella: Mole? Okay, that was a little uncalled for, but… "Somewhat accrued." Still, can't you at least try to be friendlier towards Pierce? Can't you do it for Chloe and the future of their super gorgeous babies? I mean, if you play your cards right, they might make you a godparent.

Jophiel: Ugh. Please, Ella, I had a decent breakfast don't make me yak it up.

Ella: Okay, I'm going to take that as a maybe.

Sometime later, the group were already back at the precinct. Dan was looking into the agency Amy worked at, Chloe was contacting Amy's friend Emma from her desk whereas Lucifer was drinking his flask while sitting next to her, and Jophiel and Ella were going over the evidence they recovered thus far in the lab.

Overtime, Chloe was eventually able to get a hold of Emma and requested her presence ASAP. Upon her arrival, Chloe and Lucifer escorted Emma into the conference room to peacefully discuss her relationship with Amy. When she heard what happened to Amy, Emma was heavily grief stricken by the news. She was unable to stop crying and wipe her tears away with the tissues.

Emma: *Sobbing* Amy and I have been best friends since high school. After we graduated and moved to LA to start college, Amy had a hard time finding a job. At the time, I was already working for the agency, and I convinced them to give Amy a job. It was beneficial to the both of us. We saw each other all the time when we even took our kids to the same park. God, I can't believe she's gone.

Chloe: Emma, I know this is hard for you, but can you think of anyone who'd want to hurt Amy? Did she have a fight with anyone recently?

Emma: No! Amy got along great with everyone. They all loved her. She didn't have a single problem with the Williams or any of the other nannies from the agency.

Lucifer: Well, someone must've had it out to her, otherwise she wouldn't be dead. (Chloe: Lucifer!) Are you sure a certain someone doesn't come to mind?

Emma: Well, a couple of months ago, she had a terrible break-up with her boyfriend. It was… (Notices someone walking into the precinct) Um… (Sees exactly who it is) Oh, my God.

Chloe: What? Emma, is there something wrong? Do you think this boyfriend had something to do with Amy's death?

Emma: No, no. Lilly Thunderblack just walked in here! Oh, my god, it really is her.

Lucifer: (He and Chloe look out the window to see that it is in fact…) Lilly Thunderblack? The worldly famous rockstar? What on earth would she be doing here?

Lilly Thunderblack is an attractive, pale-skinned woman in her mid-20s, standing at 5'7' (+3-inch heels), with long black hair and blonde bangs (That was currently tied up into a high-bun). As for her current attire, Lilly was wearing dark make-up , a nose-ring, ear stacking's, extra necklaces and bracelets, a couple of noticeable tattoos on her arm and leg and dressed in a fashionable punk attire.

She is a famous rockstar who proudly carries the legacy of her late mother. The also famous rockstar, Rose Thunderblack who was a major star in the 80s until she got married and had Lilly in the 90s. Sadly, in the mid-2000s, Rose was diagnosed with cancer and eventually passed away. But within a decade after her mother's untimely passing, Lilly took over her mother's mantel and became a global sensation in the world of Rock.

The moment she set foot in the precinct with her bodyguard by her side, several uni's began taking pictures of her on their phones because either they had children or friends who were fans of her and wanted to show them or they were fans themselves.

To further everyone's surprise, Jophiel stepped out of the lab and when she saw Lilly, she causally called out her name. Indicating that the two knew each on a personal level. This was proven when Lilly answered and then openly hugged Jophiel in front of the entire precinct.

Lilly: Oh, my god, Joei! Oh, it's so good to see you. I haven't seen you since my tour in Italy.

Jophiel: I know. What was that? Like, a year and a half ago?

Lilly: Really? It feels longer.

Jophiel: Well, in that case, we have a lot of catch up on. Come on in. (Guides Lilly into the lab, so they could chat away from the lookie-loos) Go on now with your usual duties. There's nothing to see here. It's just two friends reuniting.

# That's right. I'm friends with a famous rockstar. I've known Lilly since she was a child. In fact, I was great friends with her mother when I used to be her personal stylist back in the 80s. Anyway, at the time when Lilly was still a child, I was struggling to find a roof over my head so Rose's family took me in. Later on when Rose got sick, I made it my job to take care of both her and her daughter while her husband worked. It was very a difficult time, but I did my very best to stick by them. After Rose passed away, I stayed to take care of Lilly until she was ready to start Secondary School (High School). It was challenging, but we still kept in touch. We wrote letters, sent pictures, gifts and even made plans to see each other when one of us was in town. Till this very day, Lilly and I are still really close regardless of our busy professions.

Upon bringing Lilly into the lab, Ella stood completely starstruck by the sight of the famous rockstar standing before her in her very lab. Unable to even introduce herself.

Jophiel: Lily, this is my friend and partner Ella Lopez. Ella, this is my old friend Lilly. (Ella continues to stand in shock and unable to talk) Ella, don't you want to say hello? Ella? Ella? I'm sorry, she must be starstruck.

Lilly: Oh, it's fine. I'm used to this sort of reaction. It kind of comes with the job description.

Jophiel: I know, but I think this is the longest Ella's ever gone without talking and it's kind of alarming.

Lilly: Don't worry I got this. Hi. (Turns to Ella and helps clear the air for them) So you're the famous Ella Lopez. Joei has told me so much about you, and I've seen you in some of her pictures too. She also tells me that you're the best forensic scientist there is.

Ella: You've… She's… she's told you about me?

Lilly: Yes. And it's so nice to finally meet you in person, Ella.

Ella: Oh, my god. Lilly Thunderblack knows me. Ah, thanks, thank you so much. I am a huge fan of yours. I've been to a lot of your concerts, and I loved every single one of them, and I used to sleep on you every night. No, what I meant was… I used to sleep in your sheets. I mean, not your actual sheets they just that had your face on them… You know what? I just remembered something. I'm late for "a thing." A thing that is totally case-related and needs my attention right away. So I'm just gonna step out and go take care of "that thing." It was nice meeting you, bye, hope to see you again soon. (Anxiously leaves the lab, leaving the two ladies alone and feeling embarrassed for her awkward behaviour towards of her idol)

Jophiel: Sorry about that. I guess Ella just got a little nervous.

Lilly: No worries. Although, Ella does seem as sweet as you described. She's also quite chatty.

Jophiel: Well, you get used to that. Besides, that was only the first half of Ella Lopez. Once you get to know her better, you'll surely see and love the rest. Anyway, Lilly, what exactly are you doing here? I mean, I'm more than happy to see you, but why here and now? I'm in the middle of working a case.

Lilly: I know, I know, and I'm sorry. I shouldn't have just barged right in, but… There's something really important I need to tell you, and I just couldn't bear telling you over the phone. And don't worry, it's nothing bad at all. In fact, this is actually, really, really good news.

Jophiel: Okay. What's the big news?

While Jophiel was being told Lilly's big news, Lilly's bodyguard stood outside the lab to stand guard, while Lucifer and Chloe proceeded to question Emma about Amy's ex-boyfriend. From what they could gather, Amy's ex was named Chad Ryan, and when she started describing him, Emma only spoke ill of him. Showing that much like Jophiel, Emma disapproved of her best friend's boyfriend. Which was when Chloe decided to jump in and tried to compare her own issuers with Emma's.

Emma: Chad was such a tool. The best moment of Amy's relationship with him was when she finally dumped him.

Lucifer: Ooh, I'm sensing that there was some tension between you and Chad. Let me guess, you two had a one-night stand, he then started sleeping with your friend, but unlike you, there relationship actually stuck.

Emma: What, no. I never slept with Chad. Nor would I ever. I hated that guy from the moment Amy introduced me to him.

Chloe: Well, that's fairly common, you know? When your best friend starts seeing someone that you might not approve of, but if he made her happy, I'm sure you two eventually found a way to get along for her sake, right?

Emma: What are you talking about? I knew right away Chad wasn't good enough for her. He was such a jerk to her. He showed up late for their dates, he was always having money problems because of his excessive gambling, and he always made Amy bail him out of jail. I actually think he was arrested here once.

This proved to be true when Chloe looked up Chad and his record. He had been arrested from five different precincts including theirs. According to his profile, Chad had an extensive rap sheet for drunk & disorderly, vandalism, resisting arrest, assault, public urination, etc.

In addition, moments before Emma finally left the precinct, when asked if Chad would actually harm Amy, Emma explained how from time to time, even after they had already broken up, Chad would still call Amy and ask her for bail money. But when she said no, he'd start threatening her. Making him the prime suspect in her murder.

Presently, they were unable to locate or contact Chad. Leading Chloe to put out an APB on him. Since that would take some time, Chloe decided to approach Dan and ask what he learned from the Nanny agency Amy and Emma worked at. Sadly, he couldn't find anything because the agency had a strict confidentially clause for the privacy of both the nannies and the families. Meaning, the LAPD will need a warrant before they can interview anyone from the agency. Which would also take time because they don't have enough substantial evidence to convince a judge yet.

With that being the case, Lucifer decided to take off and promised to return if they either found Chad or received the warrant. Much to Chloe's dismay.

Chloe: Wait, hold on. You're just leaving?

Lucifer: Yes. As I said before, Detective, I only came for an "interesting level case." And from what I'm hearing, it's on pause. Since my services aren't needed at the moment, I'll be waiting elsewhere. it's already happy hour over at LUX, and I Certainly don't want to miss that.

Chloe: *Sarcastically* No, I guess not. Enjoy happy hour.

Lucifer: I will. Thank you, Detective.

For a moment, Chloe thought things between her and Lucifer were starting to get back to normal. Even though she's been happy with Pierce and has already proven her devotion to him by removing the bullet necklace, Chloe still wanted to ensure that her currant relationship with Pierce wouldn't affect her partnership/friendship with Lucifer.

However, given the circumstances regarding Lucifer's weeklong absence, their awkward conversation in the elevator, his outspoken attitude towards witnesses, and choosing to leave in the middle of a case to go out drinking and meet women in the middle of the case lead Chloe to believe that perhaps… it was.

But then she started thinking to herself… 'You know what, why do I care? I mean, this is Lucifer. This is what he always does. The moment he thinks a case is getting too boring or can't find a way to make it about himself, he just decides to take off to do God knows what and leaves me with the paperwork? So why am I letting another one of his departures get the better of me? If Lucifer wants to leave and hook up with some random woman, then who am I to stop him?'

However, just as Lucifer was making his way towards the exit, Jophiel and Lilly had finally exited from the lab, and they both seemed overjoyed by Lilly's exciting news. Furthermore, when they saw Lucifer walking up the stairs, Jophiel rushed after him, and stopped him in his tracks.

Lucifer: Jophiel, what are you doing?

Jophiel: Sorry, Brother, but I can't let you go just yet. I need your help with something.

Lucifer: *Chuckles* You need my help? If I didn't know better, I'd say you've been lost without me this week.

Jophiel: I haven't, so there's no need to flatter yourself. And it's not actually me who needs your help. It's Lilly. She wants to ask you… for favour.

Lucifer: Ooh. The famous Lilly Thunderblack is asking for my services? How could I possibility refuse? Alright, come on. We'll all go over to LUX and discuss the matter at hand.

Jophiel: Um, I'm afraid we can't go to LUX. We have to discuss the terms here.

Lucifer: What, why?

Jophiel: Because this is actually a very delicate matter and Lilly wants to keep this away from the press so, this favour is just going to be amongst the three of us. And we need to discuss this privately.

Lucifer: Alright, very well. Where does she wanna discuss it?

In the conference room, Lucifer, Jophiel and Lilly were having their private conversation regarding Lilly's favour. Due to the soundproof windows surrounding them, no one from the outside was able to hear their conversation.

Speaking of, Chloe was watching the trio talking from her desk. Unsure what was being said. But based on their reactions, they were having what appeared to be a truly pleasant conversation. The question was, what was it in regards to? As Chloe was about to develop a theory, her thoughts were suddenly irrupted by Ella's presence. The moment Ella saw her two friends chatting with her favourite rockstar…

Ella: Man, can you believe Joei is actually friends with the Lilly Thunderblack? I mean, it's just unbelievable.

Chloe: Yeah, it sure is. What do you think their talking about in there?

Ella: Hmm. I don't know. Gah, it's moments like these that make me wish I had the ability to read lips. What do you think it's about?

Chloe: Hmm, maybe this relates to why Lucifer's been so distant lately. Maybe he's granting people favours again and just didn't want to tell me. And he's probably giving one to Joei's friend right now.

Ella: Well, what kind of favour do you think Lilly Thunderblack would want?

Chloe: I don't know. I mean, you seem to know some things about her. I mean, as a famous rockstar, Lilly must have a record of outbursts, meltdowns, scandals, or even financial troubles she wants erased, right?

Ella: Yes, that would be usually case for most rockstars, but not Lilly Thunderblack. Well, not within the last four years at least. I mean, yes, she did have a meltdown a few years back with the drinking, the drugging, the falling in's with the wrong kind of crowds that often lead to violence and arrests. It got pretty bad too. But then, within the last four years, Lilly Thunderblack started calming down, spent some time in rehab and eventually started getting her life and career back together. And from what I heard, she's been clean ever since.

Chloe: Well, when you put it like that… and based on the fact that the three of them seem to be having a friendly conversion, maybe it's nothing shady at all.

Ella: Yeah, exactly. I mean, for all we know, it's probably just a normal conversation between friends.

Chloe: Yeah. Yeah, maybe it is. Speaking of friends, did you talk to Joei yet?

Hoping to avoid a scene, Ella guided Chloe into the lab, so they would have their own private conversation. Once Ella explained to Chloe how Jophiel easily caught on to her plot of wanting to know why she doesn't doesn't like Pierce and how Jophiel refused to tell Ella anything because she was Chloe's mole…

Chloe: *Sighs* Great. Now what are we going to do? There has to be another way to find out why Joei and Pierce can't see eye to eye. *Sighs* You know what? Maybe the real reason Joei doesn't like him is because she's still sees Pierce as the jerk we thought he was when he first came here all those months ago.

Ella: You guys thought he was jerk?

Chloe: Yes. Ella, don't you remember what he was like back then? Even I'll admit, I thought Pierce was kind of jerk when I first met him too.

Ella: Yeah, but then look how great it turned out for you two.

Chloe: Yeah, exactly my point. And it happened once I really got to know him. He saved my life, he trusted me enough to talk about his brother, he helped us find and take down the Sinnerman, and he was confident enough to show me his impressive rock collection. Maybe that's what Joei needs.

Ella: To see Pierce's rock collection?

Chloe: No. To spend more time with him. You know, really get to know him the way that I do. I mean, let's face it, Pierce and Joei have clearly haven't spent enough time together.

Ella: You know what? You think you're right. I mean, I don't think I've ever Pierce and Joei spend any time together at all. Maybe that's why she sees him so negatively. You just need to find a way to bring them closer to together on a friendly basis. Like invite them all out for coffee sometime.

Chloe: That's actually great idea, Ella. I'll try arranging coffee a date for Joei, Pierce and myself. I'm sure once we're gathered together outside of work, Pierce and Joei are bound to find something to bond over that will make them friends.

Ella: Yeah. I mean, Joei and Pierce most something in common.

Chloe: Well, I better arrange the whole thing and find out. I'm sure I can easily get Marcus on board. I just need to find a way to convince Joei.

While Chloe was trying to figure that part out, she exited from the lab at the same time Lucifer, Jophiel and Lilly were finally done with their private meeting. Although the topic still remained unknown to her, Chloe still hear them chatting and began listening from the sidelines. Making herself invisible in order not to be seen eavesdropping.

From where she stood, Chloe could see Jophiel and Lilly hugging, bidding each other farewell, and as for Lucifer… The sight of seeing Lilly place her hand on his shoulder before hugging him suddenly struck Chloe. Because Lilly was showing him a sign of affection, and Lucifer didn't even flinch. She then overheard them saying…

Lilly: Thank you so much for doing this. I can't thank you enough, Lucifer.

Lucifer: Oh, it's the least I can do for an old friend of Jophiel's.

Jophiel: Yeah, and although I was a little sceptical about this… I still know how important this is important to you, Lilly, so I am willing to give you my blessing to do this thing with Lucifer.

Lilly: Yeah, and thank you both so much for agreeing to this. it means a lot to me. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us tomorrow, Lucifer. So we'll be meeting at...

Lucifer: Oh, up in my penthouse at around five.

Lilly: Perfect. Although, fair warning, I might be a couple minutes late because I have rehearsals.

Lucifer: Not to worry, just be up in the penthouse, and be sure to bring a big bottle of wine for when we celebrate afterwards. (Jophiel: Luci!) Relax, I'm joking. Anyways, I'll be seeing you tomorrow?

Lilly: It's a date.

Hearing them say all those words, lead Chloe to automatically assume that Lucifer and Lilly were planning to go on a date. And because this situation revolves around her brother and oldest friend, they needed Jophiel's permission first in order to avoid any conflict or awkwardness between the trio. Hence, their need to discuss the matter privately in the conference room.

Upon witnessing this, Chloe once again thought to herself…'What was that all about? Is Lucifer going on a date with Lilly Thunderblack? Did he ask Joei to set them up or something and that's what they wanted to talk about? I mean, I know it's none of my business because Lucifer is a grown man who can sleep with whoever he want's, but still. Why does Lucifer suddenly seem interested in going on dates? I mean, Lucifer is not the kind of guy who really commits to anything romantic. Trust me, I know. So why now? Is it because of me and Marcus? Or is it simply a coincidence that Lucifer has suddenly changed his mind and wants to be in a real loving relationship of his own?'

By the time Chloe finally snapped her out of her own thoughts, Dan approached her wanting to discuss the matter regarding the warrant for the Nanny agency. Which helped Chloe refocus all of her attention on something that didn't involve Lucifer or Jophiel.

Dan: Hey, Chloe. What are you doing?

Chloe: Oh, ah, nothing. Nothing at all. Just waiting for that APB on Amy's ex. What about you? Were you able to get a warrant?

Dan: Nope. Unfortunately, we don't have enough probable cause to get one.

Chloe: Well, without the boyfriend or the warrant, I guess there's only one other option left.

Dan: Investigating the victim's home?

Chloe: Investigating the victim's home.

Dan: So, you and Lucifer gonna take this one, or would you like my help?

Chloe: (Watching Lilly Thunderblack and her bodyguard finally leave the premise, while Lucifer and Jophiel remained outside the conference room for a quick moment) Um, I think Lucifer and I got this one.

As luck would have it, because Lucifer spent all that time talking with Lilly and Jophiel, it allowed him to remain at the precinct long enough to give Chloe the perfect opportunity to continue working the case with him. Once she saw her chance.

Chloe: Hey, Lucifer, great news. Since we can't locate the victim's ex or get a warrant yet, we're gonna have to search the her apartment for clues. That's bound to be interesting, right.

Lucifer: Hmm, I suppose.

With that, Chloe and Lucifer left the precinct and drove over to Amy's apartment to search for any clues that could link them to Amy's missing bag or to her killer.

And thus ends the first chapter. I know some of you aren't going to like this story, but I've been working hard on it, I'm proud of it and I want to proceed the rest of the chapters when I have enough free time. I hope you eventually come to appreciate it.
