Beginning A/N: Okay, so you all may have noticed that most of my stories are now gone. That's because I deleted them. Why? Because, honestly, I just had WAY TOO MANY stories to realistically focus on. The stories that I have now are the ones that I know that I can focus on and make into great stories, or ones that I'm going to try again to make great. Although, the previous chapters for those stories are probably going to be rewritten and replaced eventually as I continue on. Still, this particular idea is one that I thought up while watching the original Digimon Digital Monsters, and I decided to write it up and see what you all think. Also, just a quick disclaimer, but I will be changing my username within three days' time. My new username will be ReximusProductionsYT to reflect my eventual YouTube channel where I will be making animated stories. But anyway, let's get this story started!
Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY or Digimon!

Oozora kidou wo koero
Yang Xiao Long looks up at the night sky as a single tear falls from her eye. She closes her eyes and when they open again, she suddenly finds herself in a strange forest where she meets a bouncing blue blob known as Chibomon.

She meets a group of seven, five boys and two girls, with one boy being a child, along with their own Digimon. Koromon, Motimon, Yokomon, Tokomon, Tsunomon, Bukamon, and Tanemon, and as they become cornered by a giant red beetle known as Kuwagamon, their Digimon glow and change into new forms. Agumon, Tentomon, Biyomon, Patamon, Gabumon, Gomamon, Palmon, and Yang's partner, Monodramon. Together, they easily defeat Kuwagamon, but that's not where things end.

Yang and Monodramon stand side by side in a field of fire as they glare at an unknown enemy. She clutches her brown and white Digivice like her life depends on it and Monodramon is engulfed in a violet glow and digivolves into his champion level form, Tyrannomon. His eyes snap open as he roars and is joined by the rest of the Digidestined and their Digimon who have Digivolved into their champion forms as well.
Oh Yeah!
Ikigatte shikujitte tachiagatte

Greymon locks arms with Shellmon as the Digidestined face off against their adversaries. The Digimon who have gone out of their way to stop them at every turn from saving their worlds. Garurumon pounces and locks his jaws on Seadramon's throat as Birdramon flies into the air and fires her Meteor Wing attack at Meramon. Kabuterimon dodges Andromon's Lightning Blade attack and fires off an Electro Shocker while Togemon's fist collides with Monzaemon's. Ikkakumon slammed into Unimon while Angemon flew up and started an aerial dogfight with Devimon. And while this happened, Yang and Tyrannomon found themselves backed against the wall against MetalTyrannomon, which is normally the Ultimate Level form of Tyrannomon and DarkTyrannomon alike.

Yang roared to the heavens as she unconsciously activated her Semblance as Tyrannomon digivolved even further into his Ultimate Level form, which was not MetalTyrannomon… but a Digimon known as Triceramon. The triceratops roars in challenge as MetalTyrannomon prepares to fire plasma from one of his hands. The two Digimon charge towards each other as Yang runs into the fray with a fist reared back as the scene locks in a freeze frame.

Prologue
Walking through the local farmer's market on the small island known as Patch, a young woman was doing her grocery shopping. Her arm was looped through the handle of a basket that was filled with fruits, vegetables, a loaf of bread, and other assorted foods.
The woman in question had neck length blonde hair that had a curly/wavy appearance with a single strand sticking up like an antenna on her head, lilac eyes, and pale white skin. She was dressed in a simple white T-shirt, a pair of denim shorts, and a pair of flip-flops. This is Yang Xiao Long, a former student of Beacon Academy and former Huntress-In-Training. Now, you're probably asking what I mean by former student and former huntress-in-training.
It all goes back to the Vytal Tournament. A tournament that is held in one of the four kingdoms as a part of a festival that is held once every two years. In this tournament students from the four main huntsman academies, Beacon, Haven, Vacuo, and Atlas, fight to show off their strength and bring glory to their school through victory. Yang was one of the contestants alongside her younger half-sister, Ruby Rose, and their teammates, Blake Belladonna and Weiss Schnee. All was going well in the tournament until Yang went up against a young man named Mercury Black, a member of an exchange student team from Haven Academy known as Team CRME, or Carmine.
She had won her fight against him, but then out of nowhere, Mercury rushed Yang and tried to attack her while her back was turned. As a result, she fired a shotgun round from her Ember Celica at him, shooting him through the leg in self-defense. Or, at least, that's how she perceived it.
But for whatever reason, everyone else saw Yang attack Mercury completely unprovoked!
And that's where things started to go downhill for her.
Long story short, General James Ironwood and his robot soldiers apprehended Yang, she was placed on house arrest at Team RWBY's dorm in Beacon, her sister, friends, and uncle didn't believe her innocence, with the exception of Jaune Arc, the leader of RWBY's sister team, JNPR/Juniper, and Coco Adel and her team, and to top it all off, Ozpin had expelled Yang without giving her a chance to appeal her case.
Last Yang had heard, Jaune had given every single one of them a verbal tongue lashing so bad that even the seemingly heartless General Ironwood and Weiss's older sister, Winter, cowered before him. And then they were all sent to the hospital with various injuries due to a surprising show of strength and skill from the normally bumbling white knight.
The video footage of the event was scary.
And after that day, Yang hung up her Ember Celica gauntlets and her huntress uniform, cut her hair short, and the most stunning change of all that would leave those who knew her flabbergasted...
SHE HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED MAKING PUNS!
Unbelievable, I know.
Yang lightly shook her head to dispel the memories from her past. She didn't want to be reminded of that painful time in her life. Or the people that she could no longer call her friends and family. She focused on buying the last of what she needed for her house, and then started her walk home.
The walk lasted about an hour as she came upon a cabin in the woods. The cabin itself was structurally sound and was actually very well-furnished on the inside. It was quite the beautiful place to live, which made it even more impressive considering that Yang built it from the ground up with no help from anyone. But the cabin was built deep into Grimm territory where most people, even experienced hunters and huntresses, didn't dare to go. But that was fine with Yang. The solitude gave her plenty of time to reflect and plan out what she could possibly do with her life. Surprisingly, the Grimm never bothered her. They may have wandered close to her house once or twice, but they never made any attempts to attack her.
This was fine with the blonde. So long as they didn't bother her, she wouldn't bother them.
"Finally, home…" Yang said as she started putting her groceries away.
As she did, she left out the ingredients that she would need to cook her dinner. Things like chicken breast, white rice, and broccoli. Once everything else was put away she started taking out her cooking supplies and looked around her house.
All around her living room were various crafts that she did as a means of providing herself with a source of supplumental income. She mostly made her living as a bounty hunter, choosing to take the jobs that no one else was willing to do. Just a month ago, she singlehandedly brought down a Geist Grimm that had been terrorizing a small village. One that was too much for their militia to take on. But among the crafts that she worked on were various wooden carvings, paintings, and even a violin for when she played at concerts.
In disguise, of course.
"It's been a full year since that fateful day. They've probably replaced me and are on their way to becoming full-fledged hunters and huntresses." Yang said to herself as she put the rice in the rice cooker. "I'm not surprised that Ruby hasn't called or texted even once before I changed my number. Guess she truly has washed her hands of me. And I don't even want to know what Taiyang and Qrow think about me, or their excuses for not reaching out to me."
Once again, she sighed and shook her head.
Thinking about them wouldn't help.
It would only open up old wounds and cause her more emotional pain.
So, Yang just finished cooking, ate a light dinner, washed the dishes, and went into the living room where she sat down on a recliner that looked like it was carved from the stump of a tree. She took out her scroll and began scrolling through a list of possible jobs to take since she had finished all of her side work projects and delivered them to their respective buyers, so it was back to her bounty hunting work now.
"Let's see, missing child report, female, age two and a half… I'll take this one. Neutral party needed for discussion on why Cats the Musical was actually pretty good, but the movie is lackluster in comparison. Oh, that'll be a fun one to talk about at the bar." Yang said to herself before spotting one job in particular. "Hm? What's this?"
She pulled up the mission details and read through it carefully, her eyes narrowing as she did.
'Mysterious creatures have been appearing deep within the Emerald Forest. Numerous Hunters and Huntresses have been dispatched to either capture or eliminate these creatures and all have failed. Even Atlas's finest have been unsuccessful in stopping these creatures. And when spy probes were launched to try and study them from a distance, the creatures would walk or fly into a mysterious fog and disappear… without a trace. …Well, it would be a hefty pay day if I succeed, but…'
Yang wasn't sure she wanted to enter what she considered to be enemy territory. And she's not talking about the Grimm. For all she knew, Ironwood put out a warrant for her arrest if she were to step foot back into Vale territory. Patch was considered neutral territory, so she was relatively safe here. But if she were to go back there…
Sighing as she closed her scroll, Yang said, "Well, Yang… you had to confront your past someday. I guess it's just happening sooner than you would have liked."
She stood up and started climbing the stairs to her room where her armor and weapons were kept. It was time for her to lock and load.
***To Be Continued…***
Ending A/N: Well, here goes the prologue. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. Although, I am sorry for the lackluster build-up in the beginning. I'm really not very good at writing angst scenes, so if any of you can recommend a beta reader to me who can help me with that part, or if you know somebody who can write angst scenes for me, please let me know. Anyway, thank you all so much for reading, and I will see you all next time! Again, please be aware that in about three days, my username will be changed to ReximusProductionsYT, or something close to it.
