Luigi got rid of his Thunderhand shield once he saw his friends were safe.
Olly roared, "I...will...not...allow...this... I will crush you! All of you!"
Mario growled, "Not today, Origami King!"
Olivia pointed out, "But my brother is way too big! We can't stop him like this..."
Luigi stammered, "N - not the first time we took out someone three times our size."
Violet replied, "Too true."
Olivia was thoughtful, "Sensei gave me something important before we left his workshop. It's time to put it to good use."
With that, Olivia glowed a yellow light. A huge spell circle appeared.
Olly huffed, "Another magic circle?! Pfah! Pathetic! What do you hope to do? Slap my wrist with those feeble arms of yours?"
That's when he messed up the magic circle. Olivia was about to complain but she didn't have the time. She knew that they had to stop her brother.
Mario commented, "We've got this, Olivia. I'll keep Olly busy while you, Luigi, and Violet work on the spell circle."
Luigi stammered, "O - on it, fratello."
Violet agreed, "We got this, Mario."
Mario started to fight Olly. He had activated his Firebrand and thought about going Super Nova hot but decided to save it, in case he got in a pickle. Olly growled at the hero of the kingdom. Luigi and Violet got the spell circle fixed. Mario noticed that there was a poison cloud coming their way. Just when he was about to warn his friends, he saw the spell circle was back to normal.
Olly hissed, "You think I'll allow this?! I'll make this Magic Circle as useless as scrap paper!"
Mario was about to say something when he saw Olivia folding into something. He perked up. She was starting to look like a giant hammer.
Olivia pleaded, "Brother! Please come to your senses!"
Mario, Luigi, and Violet all gripped onto the Olivia hammer and they hit Olly a few times with it. He fell back down the same hole. The battle was finally over. Olivia floated over her brother, exhausted. Olly was exhausted too. Mario, Luigi, and Violet went over to them.
Luigi commented, "That was a hard fight."
Mario nodded, "You're done, Olly."
Violet turned to Olivia, "Are you okay?"
Olivia just shrugged as she turned to her brother, "I'm sorry, Brother. I had no choice... Oh, but your poor body is all crumpled now. Maybe I went too far."
Olly said softly, "No, Olivia... That hammer attack was divine. You put everything into it...and it was enough to awaken me from this dark dream. I was too proud, too entitled... My heart was blintzed, my path was creased... I was a mess."
Olivia perked up, "Wait...what's this? On your belly?"
Olly told her, "Oh..." He coughed, "It hurts to move, but... That is the cause of all of this madness. The careless scrawl that Toad marked me with... Read it for me, will you? I must know what's written there... What words or gibberish mark this foolish body? Please...I could use one last laugh."
Olivia read, "Okay, um let's see... Dearest Olly, may you grow into a fair and kind king."
Mario said, "Aw, it was a note of kindness from Sensei."
Luigi added, "Y - yeah, he just wanted you to be fair and kind."
Violet turned to them, "That's so sweet and kind."
Olly coughed, "Oh, I've been a terrible king... To think, this is how I repay his kindness. I just became blinded by rage. I did so many unforgivable things... I'm so sorry that the heroes and the princess became caught up in all of this." Olly managed to sit up, his hand glowing a yellow light. He added, "Olivia...there's something you must do for me. Please accept these 999 cranes. Fold my body into the 1,000 crane... When the last fold is complete, you will gain the ability to have any wish granted. I don't suppose it will make up for everything I've done, but it's all I have left. I'm begging you, Olivia. Do this for me."
Olly shined a yellow light and returned to scrap paper. Olivia was in tears. Mario, Luigi, and Violet were all quiet. So was Bowser, whom had rejoined them.
Olivia cried, "Brother!" She sobbed for a few minutes. She sniffled, "I have something to confess..."
Mario asked, "What is it?"
Olivia answered, "I don't know how to fold a crane!"
Luigi stated, "Really?"
Olivia nodded, "Yeah! Maybe Olly could have taught me - after all, he folded the whole castle and even me - but look at him now..."
Violet offered, "We could figure it out together."
Before anything else could happen, they heard something.
"Olivia?"
The origami girl perked up, seeing Sensei there. Kamek and Junior were with him.
She sniffled, "Sensei?"
Kamek explained, "We found him outside of the castle, looking for you two."
Sensei looked around, "And what's going on here? Is one of you attempting the forbidden 1,000 crane technique?"
Olivia stated, "Yes but I won't use it for evil! Can you teach me on how to fold the last crane? I want to fulfill my brother's final wish and complete the thousandth crane myself."
Sensei agreed, "Very well. I will teach you. I suppose after all of this trouble is my fault, in a way. After all, I was the one who originally folded your brother. This will be my last fold of life, Olivia...prepare to fold as you've never folded before!"
With Sensei's help, Olivia was able to fold Olly's paper body into the thousandth crane. The crane was glowing a yellow color.
Mario stated, "It's amazing, Sensei."
Sensei blushed proudly, "Well done, Olivia. With that, the technique is complete."
Luigi asked, "Now what, Sensei?"
Sensei explained, "Olivia can now make her wish."
Junior was hyper, "Ooh, what are you gonna wish for?"
Kamek instructed, "Young Master, please calm yourself."
Junior just blushed.
Olivia said, "Okay. My wish, my wish..." She turned to her friends, the origami Luigi, and then to the castle. She added, "Thousandth crane, grant me my wish... May all of the origami folded by my brother be undone!"
Violet panicked, "Wait, Olivia! If you do that..."
Olivia stated, "I know, Violet. But I want to do this. At least undo what my brother did. I'll never forget all of you. Especially you, Violet. Thank you...for being my sister..."
All of the sudden, the castle glowed with a yellow light. Everything was turning back to normal. The castle went back to its original location. Luigi was surrounded by the same yellow light, returning him back to normal. The same thing happened to Bowser and Peach. They were restored back to normal. The origami turned into confetti, including the scrap of paper that used to be Olly. Everyone noticed that they were outside.
Kamek started to say, "What just...?"
Peach returned to them, "What in the world happened...? What are we all doing here...?"
Mario hugged his girlfriend tightly, "Peaci! You're back!"
Peach giggled as she returned his hug. "Glad to see you too, Mario." She looked around, "But wait, where's Olivia...?"
Everyone looked down sadly. No one could tell the princess. Mario started to cry, for her and Bobby. Everyone else did the same thing. The tears went up towards the Overthere.
...
Later that night, they held the Origami Festival. The fireworks went off. Mario was with Peach and Toad (Greg). Luigi was consoling Violet so they weren't there at that moment.
Greg commented, "I'm so happy that everything is back to normal."
Mario stated, "Yeah, me too. Toad Town is bustling again."
Peach replied, "No kidding. Everyone is discovering the magic of origami and having fun." She looked around, "Hmm, where are Luigi and Violet? I thought they would be back by now."
Everyone was having fun. Greg, Peach, and Mario walked through. That's when they saw Sensei looking over his Origami Kingdom. With him were Luigi and Violet. Violet's eyes were red from crying. Luigi had his hand on her back.
Sensei said, "Come see what I got! It's a miniaturization of what Olly made."
There, on the top, there were two thrones. On the thrones were mini versions of Olly and Olivia. Everyone was awed at it for a bit. There was a bit of silence until Luigi broke it.
Luigi told Sensei, "It's perfect."
Violet corrected, "Perfect? It's beautiful."
To that, Mario nodded sadly. Everyone had gotten lanterns and sent them up towards the Overthere.
"To all the origami...thank you."
As the lanterns flew off, more fireworks went off. Mario, Luigi, and Violet were crying. They were all thanking Olivia in their minds. They were also thanking Bobby too. The three of them seemed stronger than ever. Luigi held Violet's hand, squeezing it lightly. Violet laced their fingers and smiled.
