Sweet and Elite
Today in Canterlot, Rarity, Mario, Golden Charm, and Kronk had just arrived to the royal city on official business, but she's now 5 months pregnant. But what Rarity didn't expect was for Princess Celestia to set up some staying arrangement for her. She's still in shock as Princess Celestia opened the door so Rarity could see her suite at the top of one of the towers.
"Here!?" Rarity exclaims with a gasp as she, Golden Charm, Mario, and Kronk walked inside. "I get to stay here?"
"Twilight Sparkle said you four were coming to Canterlot for a visit, and asked if I might accommodate you." Princess Celestia explains.
"Thanks, Celestia." Mario thanked her with a smile as Rarity looked around her room with awe.
"Thank you, your highness." Kronk thanked her while Golden Charm nods.
"Thank you so much, Princess." Rarity said.
"You're very welcome." Princess Celestia replied.
"No, really." Rarity said. "This is so mice of you."
"It's nothing, really." Princess Celestia remarked.
"Oh, but it isn't nothing, it's everything!" Rarity said, feeling overwhelmed. "I just don't know what to say, but thank you, thank you!"
Rarity was about to kiss Princess Celestia's hooves when she felt a kick coming from her stomach, causing her to jump a little. It got their attention when they noticed Rarity jumped.
"Oh." Rarity said, rubbing her belly with a smile. "Feels like somepony is getting a little fussy. Probably wants to come out soon."
Mario, Kronk, and Princess Celestia smiled as they turned to the Irish colt.
"Golden, are you excited?" Mario asks.
"About what?" Golden Charm inquires curiously.
"About your sister coming back." Kronk answered. "You should be happy that she is gonna come in for a next few months."
"I guess." Golden Charm said with sigh. "But, how am I going to be a big brother if I couldn't keep her safe?"
"Golden Charm." Princess Celestia called him, earned his attention. "You did everything you can to keep her safe and you said those people were going to separate the two of you back in your world. You wanted to keep her safe for the sake of your old parents. I say that that's what a big brother would've done. You would do anything to keep what's left of your family with you. You're a better big brother than you think you are."
Golden Charm was thinking of all what happened after his parents died. They made him a promise to keep his sister safe. He couldn't after what happened, but now the Irish colt had a second chance. Golden Charm smiled thinking of that, he looked towards his mother and smiled. Rarity saw him and came over towards the Irish colt.
"Your sister is kicking." Rarity whispered to his ear. "Do you want to feel it?"
Golden Charm smiled as he put a hoof on her stomach, and he felt Flora kicking. Golden Charm smiled at what Flora was doing. At least she was kicking as strong as she was when his old mother was pregnant with her.
"I remember when she kicked like this when my birth mother was pregnant." Golden Charm said. "Flora was always a strong kicker."
"I'm sure she'll grow out of that phase. Now, we're just going to have to wait." Rarity told her son, grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. Her hug feels just as warm as a hug from his birth mother was. "It'll just be a matter of time until she comes out."
"I know." Golden Charm said sadly. "I just hope nothing bad will happen like last time."
"I know, Golden, I know." Rarity said, turned his face to look at hers. "You are a spirited young colt who would protect his family in need. You're a strong-hearted boy. You shine handsomely on the inside."
Golden Charm hugged her and Rarity hugs back. Mario, Kronk, and Princess Celestia smiled at the heartwarming sight, but the moment was ruined when they heard the sound of somepony struggling behind them. It was the Bags Valet colt trying to carry Rarity's huge load of baggage.
"Your luggage, mademoiselle?" Bags Valet said, panting heavily and struggling to stand up.
"I'll leave you to get settled." Princess Celestia said as she took her leave.
"Your highness." Bags Valet said as he tried to bow despite all of the luggage on his back as Princess Celestia made her exit.
"Enjoy your stay." Princess Celestia said as she left.
"Thank you!" Rarity called out as she ran out of her guest room and watched Princess Celestia descend the staircase.
Rarity then returned shortly after to see Bags Valet was just standing there.
"Where would you like me to put these?" Bags Valet asked, his voice was straining before the pile of luggage toppled down on him.
Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm flinched as Bags Valet was literally buried alive.
"That's perfect." Rarity said plainly with a smile.
Mario sighed as he, Kronk, and Golden Charm got to work, helping Bags Valet out of the luggage while Rarity sits on a wooden wheelchair so she won't stressed out or having to unpack.
The reason why Mario Star is here because Rarity begged him to come so he can deal with the elite ponies. He didn't like the idea, but Mario only agreed once. But for only a warning, if Rarity screws it up, she'll get an answer from him.

Once Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm finished unpacking and Rarity paid a very generous tip to Bags Valet for his services, and his sore back, Mario had taken her, Kronk, and Golden Charm into the heart of Canterlot's shopping district. It was there that various ponies of high-class stature were walking down the streets with smug and snooty faces. While Mario had grown up being around these types of ponies, he had always hated that stuck up atmosphere these ponies presented themselves with, especially since he still despised them for not respecting him which he knows how to bite back. However, Rarity seemed to thrive in it. In fact, being with her seemed to take his mind off the snooty ponies so he could enjoy himself. For the moment, he, Kronk, Golden Charm, and Rarity were at a cafe, enjoying what seemed to be the equivalent to a latte. Mario just had a simple lemonade while Kronk had coffee with no cream or sugar, and Golden Charm has water. Rarity had on a pink floppy hat with a white band and a purple brooch on, and with them with her own saucer of milk that that was served by a fancy waiter. Even Cyra was with them on Mario's shoulder while nibbling a cookie.
"Do you know what I love about Canterlot?" Rarity asked as they all took a sip of their drinks at once.
"What?" Mario asked as Cyra held her cookie in her talons.
"Ahh, everything!" Rarity said. "I may have been born in Ponyville, but I am a Canterlot pony at heart."
They all took another sip of their drinks at once.
"Now, I know there we are to pick up some fabrics from the shop, but Twilight was such a dear to get me that suite at the castle, I simple must make her something to express my gratitude." Rarity said with a ponder, but noticed a few more high-class ponies walking by and notices one of the mare wearing a very pretty dress. "An outfit for her birthday this weekend! Perfect!"
"Hold up, Rarity, remind you that you've got the baby on the way." Kronk informed her. "No working on dresses until the baby arrives."
"Oooohhh!" Rarity whines, but knows that Kronk is right.
"But I can still make the design and work on the dress for you." Kronk told her, causing her to sigh.
"I suppose." Rarity said reluctantly.
"And while you're at it, I'm just gonna go see if I can find a perfect gift for Twilight's birthday." Mario adds. "Ever since she opened the door for dating, I really want to give her something that shows just how much I love her. A present I had a hoof in creating just sounds...more genuine. If you don't mind us giving her the outfit together..."
"Not at all, darling." Rarity said. "Together, we'll create something absolutely fabulous!"
Rarity turned to the two pets.
"Don't you just love it here, Opalescence? Cyra? Bucky?" Rarity asks.
Opalescence just drank her milk quietly as Cyra just nibbled on her cookie before she gave Rarity a look of bluntness and she shook her head in a reply of 'no'. Bucky just chirps at her.
"Cyra is just in the same state as me." Mario said, agreeing with his companion. "She still doesn't like elite snobs here."
"Same with Bucky, he doesn't like elite snobs, either." Kronk adds.
Mario and Kronk went back to drinking when a dark shadow appeared overheard. Mario glanced and inwardly groaned. There before him were none other than Jet Set and Upper Crust.
Jet Set has a spring greenish gray fur coat with dark gray mane and tail, and moderate azure eyes. He wears a green shirt and white sweater draped on his back. He also wear glasses.
Upper Crust has a pale light grayish olive fur coat with pale light grayish indigo mane and tail with light gray streaks, and moderate persian blue eyes. She wore a white shirt and pink sweater draped on her back, along with earrings and a necklace.
'Out of all the high-class ponies I had to run into today, why these two?!' Mario mentally shouts with a glare.
Those two particular ponies, in addition to one other and not including Blueblood, were three of the most influential elite ponies in Canterlot. And they were also the most condescending and snobbish ponies as well. They had made it their mission to try and put Mario down when they heard Bolobo was killed by Orochimaru ever since he was chosen as his successor of the Master of Nature, especially around the other high-class ponies. The harsh words and the humiliation he faced before them, even when his friends and mentor was around, was still fresh on his mind, but he knows stands up for himself and never let it get him down. As for their third member, she had moved away after getting married, but had settled down in Ponyville. With his back turned from them, he was hoping that they won't recognize him. To his luck, it didn't seem like they did. Rarity just looks at them sheepishly, especially since some whipped cream had gotten on her nose when she put her cup down.
"Please excuse our interruption." Jet Set said. "I'm Jet Set, and this is my wife, Upper Crust. We saw you from across the cafe and just had to find out..."
"...Where did you get that simply marvelous chapeau?" Upper Crust asked, causing Rarity to smile.
"Oh, this old thing?" Rarity said in her best impression of a high-class tone. "Oh, it's just something I-"
"Rarity! Hey, Rarity!" A voice from above said as Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm looked up to find a lanky goofy, buck-toothed pony cleaning some windows above them using a harness, but then lost his footing and fell beside Rarity dangling by a rope tied to one of his hind legs.
He has a dark yellow freckles, pale light grayish gold with two shades of grayish gamboge mane and tail, and moderate gamboge eyes. His cutie mark were three turnips. He wears a dirty shirt and green trucker's cap with a turnip on the front.
"Whoo! It's me, Hayseed Turnip Truck." Hayseed said. "We met at the big hoedown in Ponyville last month!"
"Oh, yes, of course." Rarity said uneasily, noticing that his shouting had attracted unwanted attention to their table. "...how are you?"
"Good! Real good!" Hayseed said before his rope snapped and crashed into the ground.
"Oh...great..." Mario muttered, knew what their looks meant and he didn't like it at all.
"Hmm..." Jet Set and Upper Crust hummed disapprovingly.
"You're from...Ponyville?" Jet Set asked.
"Well, yeah." Rarity answered. "Yes, but...Oh..."
Then, she felt a kick coming from her stomach which it got their attention.
"Sorry, somepony is being a little fussy." Rarity told them, rubbing her belly. "She's probably wanted to come out."
"WHAT?!" Jet Set, Upper Crust, and Hayseed exclaims with a shout, astonished.
"Are you saying you're...pregnant?" Upper Crust asks. "How long?"
"5 months, and apparently I've only got 6 months left until she's born." Rarity informed them, but both Jet Set and Upper Crust turns to the Irish Colt, realized.
"I've read the articles of a certain colt named 'Golden Charm' and a filly named 'Flora Heart', who are former humans from Galway. I thought the Princess was joking, but when we get to see him with our own eyes, she's not." Jet Set said, surprisingly. "You must be Golden Charm, formerly known as 'Oliver'?"
Golden Charm felt nervous when Jet Set and Upper Crust heard about the Irish siblings in the newspapers, turns to Rarity, who gave him a comfort smile since she's there for him. He turns back to the two ponies.
"Aye, I'm Golden Charm, and I'm formerly known as Oliver from Galway, Ireland." Golden Charm told them in Irish accent. "And before you ask, I'm Irish, I was born with the way to spoke."
"I see." Jet Set said with an understanding. "And that pony from Rarity's belly, is that Flora?"
Golden Charm can only respond with a frown, looking down to the ground. Rarity, Kronk, and Mario knew that it was a sensitive subject which it's something he doesn't want to talk about.
"Unfortunately, yes, but his sister has to be reborn and Golden needs to be taken care of because of the grave misfortune of his birth parents." Rarity explains. "And few months ago, I have to be the one to give birth to her. It'll be for only 6 months for her to be reborn."
"Reborn?! How in Equestria did this happen to the little filly?" Upper Crust asks shockingly.
"Flora's lung was punctured and her ribs were broken." Kronk told them, earned their attention. "She was at the brink of death, but Mario came up with a solution. He came up the idea of the Flora to be reborn. Rarity volunteered and Princess Celestia cast a magic on her, for her to be pregnant."
Both Jet Set and Upper Crust began to understand what Kronk is telling them, turns to Golden Charm as they gave him a sympathetic look on their faces, feeling sorry for the Irish colt. But they turned to Mario, who averted their eyes which they can tell that he didn't forget for what they did to him.
"So, you moved to Ponyville?" Jet Set questions.
"And if I am?" Mario questions back.
"We were wondering where you have gone since you left Canterlot to a place where you live. You usually go to the martial arts dojo at the mountains, but never thought of Ponyville." Upper Crust told him. "And after learning of those children from the newspapers, along with the little colt. We saw those children at the Gala."
"And you care about them why?" Mario asks, raises his eyebrow.
"Your niece and her friends sang beautifully. They may not be high-class, but they are adorable little ponies." Upper Crust told him which it got him surprised.
"I know we've been on bad terms ever since the murder of Bolobo, and you living in Ponyville with your family. While we may not condone of our actions, we just want to apologize for our actions." Jet Set adds with sincere. "We're not expecting you to forgive us, we hope that we put this behind us and move on."
Jet Set and Upper Crust then left the cafe, leaving Mario, Kronk, Rarity, and Golden Charm alone. Hayseed just waved them goodbye.
"Well, they seemed real nice!" Hayseed remarked in a ditzy and clueless manner.
Mario had enough of his behavior.
"They were, if you had the brain of an avocado!" Mario shouted at Hayseed's face, making him glare and tried to get back at him, but only for Mario to smack him in the face before walking away.
Hayseed glared at him with fire in his eyes before heading on his way. Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm turns to Mario with worry.
"Mario, are you all right, darling?" Rarity asks.
"How could I forgive them, after what they did years ago? Do they honestly think I should forgive and forget?" Mario questions with a glare, sighed. "They may try to change, but I have my doubts that they really can."
"Only some of the top elite ponies in Canterlot who can look down upon anypony." Rarity points out, sighed. "Can we just go back to my suite?"
"I'll go pay our check." Mario said with a sigh, went inside.
They arrived back at the suite and Golden Charm uses his magic to closes the door. Both Kronk and Rarity were trying to sketch a design for Twilight's dress while Mario practices his martial arts kata.
"Rarity, I know it's not my place to tell you, but I'll say this." Mario said while practicing his form. "They make it their mission to put ponies down who they think are inferior to them. They just love pointing out your flaws, your past, and even your friends just to make you look bad. You even said it yourself that we're just as good as any other high-class ponies. I've already made my duty to not interact with them as my friends and my mentor did the same since they tried to torment us."
"I know, but considering they're trying to make amends with you, and it takes a lot to take in." Rarity said. "And yet, you still haven't forgotten for what they did to you for all these years."
"Some of the high-class ponies moved on and we've been on good terms, but not that many." Mario told her. "Especially Trixie, whom we've encountered."
"Don't remind me." Rarity groans in annoyance when Kronk finishes the sketches.
Kronk then shows the sketch of the dress for Twilight's birthday which it her gasp in astonishment.
"Why, it's absolutely fabulous!" Rarity shouts excitedly. "Let me list some the materials for the dress, and we're all set."
Few hours later, Mario, Kronk, Golden Charm, and Rarity were rushing down the streets of Canterlot, using their magic to carry multiple bags while Kronk uses his magic to push a wooden wheelchair. Rarity was still sitting on a wheelchair and not using her magic, but Opal is laying around her lap. Cyra was flying beside Mario.
"Rarity, you have to take it easy." Mario said as they paced down the street rather quickly. "Mind you, you still have the baby inside, and sometimes you're pickier then ever with shopping like this."
"I know, I know, I have the baby on the way. Also, I can't help it and we have to get started right away." Rarity said. "This new design Kronk showed is very ambitious, and I've already written to Twilight to let her know she'll have something beyond fabulous to wear to the party."
"You told her about the dress?!" Mario exclaimed with a gasp. "I thought it was a surprise!"
"It is, darling." Rarity said. "I didn't say you were going to..."
But luckily, Kronk stops the wheelchair and preventing Rarity for getting hurt along with the upcoming baby. Mario and Golden Charm stops while placing their bags next to them. A stallion named Fancy Pants, and a mare next to him was Fleur De Lis were strolling when they noticed them.
Fleur De Lis has a light gray fur coat with light magnetaish gray mane and tail with heilotropeish white streaks, and pale light grayish violet eyes with pale light grayish violet eyeshadows. Her cutie mark was three fleur de lis, two small lavender and one large gold.
Fancy Pants has light gray fur coat with light azure mane and tail, and light azure eyes. His cutie mark was three golden crowns with purple jewels. He wore a black suit with navy blue vest, and white shirt with golden buttons underneath, a light purple bowtie, and a monocle.
"Fancy Pants!" Rarity exclaimed, recognized him.
"I say, that's one way to shop and rush home." Fancy Pants said, but noticed the two stallions next to her. "Why...Mario? Kronk? Is that you, my boys?"
Both Mario and Kronk smiled, but Rarity gasp.
"You...you...you know Fancy Pants and never told me?!" Rarity exclaimed as Mario and Kronk walked up to the elite colt.
"One doesn't go bragging about their upper-class connections." Mario replied.
"Indeed." Fancy Pants agrees. "I've known Mario since he was a foal and he's quite a well-achieved pony. I was there when he was doing one his martial arts skills on sparring against Jay and Kai. He seems to have learned from his mentor."
Mario smiled as Fancy Pants turns to Kronk.
"And as for this strong lad, I'm known Kronk when I first met him in Trottingham and he's a gentle pony despite his sheer size." Fancy Pants continues. "He was making one of the finest suits and repaired one of mine. He never asks anything, despite his kindness."
"Yeah, but I still don't appreciate the fact all of these ponies tried to tear me down when Master Bolobo was murdered." Mario said with a sad look on his face.
"My dear boy, from what I can see, you've learned to deal with these harsh critics of your mentor's death." Fancy Pants told him. "And it appears you're still making something of yourself. There's nothing to be ashamed of from what I can see. Your teacher would be proud of you for the stallion you've become."
He then turns to Kronk.
"And Kronk, you too have learned to deal with these harsh critics and trying to have your father's approval." Fancy Pants continued. "And you're also making something of yourself. If your father was here, he would be proud of your accomplishments."
Mario and Kronk smiled. Fancy Pants was one of the very few elite ponies who thought well of them. Mario just wished Fancy Pants had been around when Jet Set and Upper Crust had been trying to make amends with him earlier that day. Of course, they also learned of Golden Charm's grave misfortune from the articles.
"And who is this young lad?" Fancy Pants asks, turns his attention to Golden Charm.
"This is Golden Charm, he's my son." Rarity answered, earned a kick as she rubs her belly. "Oh...and apparently, my upcoming daughter is Flora Heart."
Fancy Pants and Fleur De Lis remembered of the newspaper they've read which it's about Golden Charm and his sister.
"So, you must Golden Charm, a former human known as 'Oliver' from Galway, Ireland." Fancy Pants said surprisingly. "We've heard about you and your sister from the newspaper...and we're all very sorry for to hear of your grave misfortune."
Fancy Pants' tone changed from happy to sympathy.
"Also, I thought I would like meet you." Fancy Pants said.
"Well, it's nice to you, sir." Golden Charm replied, causing Fancy Pants to smile warmly at his politeness.
"So, what brings you here today?" Fancy Pants asks, changing the subject while regaining his composure by clearing his throat, before looking slightly indignant to Rarity. "You seemed to be in a hurry."
"Oh goodness, we're so sorry." Rarity said before Mario could answer. "We didn't see you there, but we're lucky that we stopped before somepony gets hurt and I almost lost Flora. We were trying to get back to my suite at the castle and-"
The instant Rarity mentioned staying at Princess Celestia's castle, both Fancy Pants and Fleur De Lis looked at her in chok.
"You're staying at the castle?" Fancy Pants asks, raising his eyebrow.
"Wh-The Princess invited us to stay in one of the suites." Rarity said, inwardly she's grateful that it had been Twilight who helped and not Mario.
"You know the Princess?" Fancy Pants asks surprisingly.
"She's also one of my friends." Mario added.
"Princess Celestia helped me for the...circumstances." Golden Charm adds.
"Hmm, a pony with expensive tastes, I see." Fleur De Lis said as she used her magic to hand Rarity one of her bags. "Mario and Kronk certainly has fine taste when it comes to mares."
Both Mario and Kronk blushed as Rarity giggled at their expenses.
"Mario and Kronk are quite charming, but as for the bags, it's for an ensemble he's making for a friend." Rarity explains. "Her birthday is in a few days. Again, we're really sorry we almost bumped into you."
But as they began to walk away.
"I'm not!" Fancy Pants said, stopping Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm before Mario could follow.
Plus, Fleur De Lis was also leaning her fore-hooves against his backside and looking at the sky.
"Heheh, you are obviously somepony worth bumping into! And you are best friends with Mario and Kronk!" Fancy Pants said with a smile. "I have a VIP box reserved for the Wonderbolts Derby this afternoon. Would you, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm be so kind to join me and a few of my companions there?"
"Me?" Rarity said, shocked.
"Us?" Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm said, surprised while Cyra squawked in surprise.
"But of course, my dear." Fancy Pants answered, then turns to Mario. "And we can have some time to catch up, my boy."
Mario just looked at Rarity, unsure of what to answer.
"Well, I'm, uh, ah-, no-, sure." Rarity said, stuttered a bit.
"We'd love to see you there, uh...?" Fancy Pants said, realized that he'd never asked what her name was.
"Rarity." Rarity answered.
"Rarity." Fancy Pants said. "Looking forward to seeing you all there."
Fancy Pants walked away, Fleur De Lis just pose for him, but once found out he hadn't noticed she quickly pranced after him. Rarity just smiled excitedly while Mario, Kronk, Golden Charm, and Cyra looked at each other, worried.
It wasn't much longer before they returned to her guest suite. Kronk began working on the dress for Twilight's birthday since it's taking a while because like Rarity said, it's an ambitious work.
"Are you sure we have time for the derby, Rarity?" Mario asks with concern. "I mean, I'd really like to catch up with Fancy Pants, but I still hate almost all of the elite ponies here. He was very kind to me growing up, but...I don't want Twilight's dress to suffer for it."
"He's got a point, even though neither of those elite ponies show appreciation of my handiwork." Kronk agrees. "Even though, Fancy Pants is the only one who does because he's one of my customers and...well, he's not like any of those elite ponies."
Rarity pondered a bit since both Mario and Kronk did bring up a good point.
"Pro: Seeing the Derby from a VIP box is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity." Rarity said. "Con: As Mario mentioned, going to the Derby cuts the amount of time we have to...er, well, Kronk might be able to get it a bit finished for Twilight's birthday. Pro: Fancy Pants is the most important pony in Canterlot. His stamp of approval could mean big things for me, er...us, here..."
She then looks at Kronk working on the dress, which it's a bit of progress. She then imagined herself in a fancy hat with Fancy Pants at the high-class event.
"True..." Mario said, trying to see both sides of the matter.
"...Con: Twilight's party might not be sophisticated as the Derby, but that doesn't mean we should put all our energy into creating her birthday ensemble." Rarity continued as she looked at Kronk, who's still working on the dress. "Which apparently, it's a progress."
"Another good point." Mario said. "Putting all your time into the dress I mean. But, it'll give Golden Charm a chance to spend some time with you and around in Canterlot."
"Hmm, true...but our Ponyville friends will appreciate Kronk's hard work more than anypony." Rarity said, agreed. "I'd hate to let them down and I know Mario and Kronk wouldn't want to do that, either."
"Thank you for considering our feelings." Mario thanked her. "I trust your judgement, so...what do you want to do? Do you think we can attend the Derby and still do a fabulous job without letting our friends down?"
Rarity glared at the mannequin for a moment, which Kronk was able to make some progress and he was able to get it a bit done.
"Yes, and we won't." Rarity answered as she uses her magic to push the wooden wheelchair, heading into a closet and put on a pink hat with a frilly style feathers dangling from it. "Opal, Cyra, Mario, Kronk, Golden Charm, and I are going to the Wonderbolts Derby as a guest for Fancy Pants!"
Rarity giggled excitedly as the two pets just glared and rolled their eyes at them before looking at the mannequin, with a progression of a dress.
With that said, the four ponies headed towards the Wonderbolts Derby Racetrack, which was simply a few stands surrounding by a cliff edge. The track itself was marked with a set of two oval-like shaped clouds that were connected to each other. Hundreds of ponies were already sitting on the stands and the majority of them were wearing a hat on their head at the very minimum. The walking stairs were so narrow that Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm had to push their way through the top.
"Pardon me." Rarity said politely with Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm right behind her. "'Sucuse me, 'scuse me!"
Soon as they reached the top of the stairs. There sitting on the topmost set of seats were Jet Set and Upper Crust. They gave the four ponies a confused look, wondering why are they here and why are they going to the VIP. Mario, Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm didn't take notice as they made their way toward another set of stairs that was roped off and had a single pony standing guard. Rarity just smiled cutely and fluttered her eye lashes at him.
"'Scuse me, good sir." Mario said, trying to sound proper. "Can you please let Mr. Fancy Pants know that Mr. Mario, Mr. Kronk, Ms. Rarity, and Mr. Golden Charm are here?"
The guard said nothing and refused to move. Fortunately, the elite pony had taken that moment to come down the stairs.
"Rarity, Mario, Kronk, Golden, jolly good to see you!" Fancy Pants said as the guard opened the rope so they could enter. "So glad you could make it!"
Both Jet Set and Upper Crust were left speechless. As Mario, Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm made their way to the top, they found a small group of ponies chattering with one another. Once they saw Fancy Pants, they walked over to him and continued their conversation with him. Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm had to step aside to avoid getting trampled.
"Everypony." Fancy Pants announced. "This is Rarity. She is staying at Canterlor Castle. And many of you remember my dear friends, Mario Star and Kronk. And this young lad is Golden Charm. He is Rarity's son."
The other ponies gasped and looked at four ponies blankly, making Mario, Kronk, Rarity, and Golden Charm smiled nervously. It didn't help that they began to mumble and chatter with each other in confusion.
"Typical reaction." Mario muttered quietly.
"Wait, it is Mario Star!" One of the young female ponies said with excitement. "Wu's student and the Master of Nature!"
All of the girls there chattered with excitement as some of the fillies sighed with lovestruck as hearts appeared around their heads. Mario looked at them for a moment before he recomposed himself to being friendly. Rarity giggled at this while Kronk and Golden Charm just chuckled at his expense.
"Fillies and Gentlecolts, welcome to the Wonderbolt Derby!" The announcer said as the six Wonderbolts joined the race, began to hover at the starting line. "The competitors are taking their places at the starting line, and the race will begin momentarily!"
"I'll be rooting for Rapidfire, of course." Fancy Pants said. "He's sure to take home the Grand Prize."
The other ponies nodded and mumbled in agreement.
"I don't think he has a chance against Fleetfoot." Rarity remarked, making the ponies look at her as Fancy Pants' guests gasped which it got her smiled nervously.
"I study each Wonderbolt flyer in terms of their top speed, acceleration, size, and stamina." Mario explains in Rarity's defense. "Rapidfire might have good strengths where it counts, but Fleetfoot is very good at finding good racing line that helps her maintain her speed."
The others said nothing as the Derby trumpet was blown. Everypony headed toward the railing to watch as the others ponies began to cheer. With the blow of the whistle, the Wonderbolts were off. Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm watched excitedly as the Pegasi raced around the track. Just as they predicted, Fleetfoot crossed the finish line first.
"And it's Fleetfoot by a nose." The announcer said as Rarity cheered, but Fancy Pants was left stunned.
"Bravo, Rarity and Mario!" Fancy Pants said as he walked over to the two ponies. "I say, how did you know Fleetfoot would be victorious?"
"Our friend Rai-"
"Mario and I know Spitfire and Fleetfoot, which we are good friends with them." Kronk cuts in. "And she came at Cloudsdale to watch a Young Flyer Competition, which Rainbow Dash won the event and Spitfire is impressed of her talents."
"And who is this 'Rainbow Dash'?" One of Fancy Pants' friend named Silver Frame asks.
"Rainbow Dash happens to be a friend of ours, she may be brash and had a big ego, but she's dreaming to become a Wonderbolt." Kronk explains. "Also, she adopted a Pegasus named Storm Hawk."
Rarity was surprised that Kronk answers before her, but Fancy Pants believed him and was most impressed.
"Staying at Canterlot Castle, and he and Mario were friends with Spitfire and Fleetfoot." Fancy Pants said. "I have also read the news article about Storm Hawk, who's once a human named as Dante from Earth. I told you these four were important ponies."
The ponies began to chattering around Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm.
"Kronk, why did you do that? It's rude to interrupt me." Rarity muttered under her breath. "We are about to be important ponies."
"Well, do you expect me to lie?" Kronk questions back. "Also, somepony has to keep you on a short leash. Since me and Mario are here, we can't let this go to your head."
Rarity flinched a bit before laughed nervously.
"Three cheers for Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm." Fancy Pants said. "My new favorite party guest!"
"Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip, hooray! Hip hip hooray!" The other ponies cheered.
Jet Set and Upper Crust, who'd heard everything, just looked even more stunned than ever. Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm just didn't like this as Rarity gave them a wink.
"We can't Rarity do this." Mario whispered to them.
"It's best we keep her in check until the dress is finished." Kronk told him. "And besides, it's just about finished."
Later on, Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm were walking down one of the streets of Canterlot with three of Fancy Pants inner ponies chatting with them.
"...And then I said." Rarity said. "Puh-lease, that isn't a hat, darling, that's a natural distaste that somehow landed on top of your head!"
It got the high-class ponies laughed, but Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm just rolled their eyes since they didn't find this joke funny. Mario was clearly not enjoying some of this, since he still hates elite ponies.
"Oh, you are a delight Rarity, an absolute delight." Silver Frames said. "You simply must attend my art gallery opening this evening."
She then gave a haughty laugh.
"Oh, I'd love to." Rarity said uneasily. "But I-"
"And let's not forget my charity auction tomorrow morning." Golden Gavel added as he got into Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm's faces.
"Well, that sounds wonderful." Rarity said.
"But we happen to be-"
Mario tried to explain for Rarity, but then they got cut off again.
"And of course, there's a seat for you at my dinner party tomorrow night." Swan Song said.
"Alright, alright, that's enough! Let's not crowd her and give her some space!" Kronk intervenes. "There's no need to get Rarity all stressed out! And to remind you all, she's having a baby for the next 6 months! Let us think it over and we'll get back to you three. Okay, thank you."
Kronk then uses his magic to push a wooden wheelchair, pushing Rarity towards the castle suite while Mario and Golden Charm, leaving the three elite ponies alone. Apparently, Fancy Pants didn't tell them about Rarity being pregnant which he forget to mention it, but they decided to leave them alone while given Rarity some space.
It wasn't long before they had returned to their guest room and Kronk was about to finish the dress while Rarity rubs her belly. Golden Charm and Mario came inside with food.
"Thank you." Rarity thanked them, eating her lunch as she turns to Kronk. "And thank you, Kronk. I don't know what would have happened to Flora if I'm feeling so stressed due to pregnancy."
"You would suffer the miscarriage and it'll leave Golden devastated. Trust me, we don't want that to happen." Kronk told her.
"...Point taken..." Rarity said sadly, didn't want to imagine of her son being alone and sad. "But still, I don't want this to happen. I've been making some progress for the pregnancy, and I don't want it to go to waste."
"Even so, you also can't keep attending all these high-class events." Mario told her. "We already got accepted by Fancy Pants as important ponies, no need to show ourselves off."
"I know, I know, but I just can't help it." Rarity complains. "I was just so excited of seeing Fancy Pants and hoping I would be an important pony in Canterlot! And I feel like I'm an important pony!"
"But you are an important pony, you were telling those ponies about fashions back in the Gala." Kronk told her which it got her attention. "I mean, those kids did make a big difference a few months back."
"Well, that's true." Rarity said with a hum, pondering. "I didn't think about that."
"And you already met Fancy Pants for the first time, came to the Derby, and even told of Fleetfoots win." Golden Charm adds. "Mom, don't you think it's enough?"
Rarity then thought about it since Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm made some valid points. She even remembered of the 5 foals made a big difference at the Grand Galloping Gala a few months back. Of course, it got her remembering of her given them an explanation of fashion and Kronk accompanying her.
"Well...I suppose you're right." Rarity replied. "But for now, our priority is Twilight's ensemble which we've got plenty of time for it before-"
"It's done." Kronk interrupted, showing them the dress.
It got Rarity, Mario, and Golden Charm shocked with awe, looked at the dress Kronk made which it was exactly like the sketch.
"My, my, Kronk, that's the most impressive design and beautiful." Rarity said, turns to Kronk. "Twilight would be happy for your hard work. Thank you."
Kronk blushed of her compliment of the dress he made.
"Well, I, uh, it's nothing, really." Kronk said, smiled with modest. "I couldn't help have done it without your idea. I was just..."
"Oh nonsense, darling, true we came up with the idea of the design, but you did most of the work while taking care of me and Golden Charm." Rarity protests. "It really makes it easy for me to rest and having to care for him, but it helps me not feeling stressed."
Both Kronk and Mario agreed to her statement.
"And I'll tell you this, once Flora Heart is born, how about we go out?" Rarity offers. "Just you and me?"
"You mean...like...like a date?" Kronk inquires surprisingly.
"Yes...actually...I'm asking you out for a...date..." Rarity replied with a blush on her face. "But after my daughter is born."
"Oh, I can understand that. I'm in no rush." Kronk replied quickly. "And besides...a date would be nice."
Rarity agreed with a nod, but Mario and Golden Charm noticed that she and Kronk were starting to grow close to each other which apparently, they're having a relationship. Golden Charm was starting to think about having Kronk as a new father since he helped Rarity on making the designs and dresses for the customers. But despite his sheer size and his intimidating aura, Kronk is kind and gentle stallion, and he was a good guy to hang around with.
"Actually, I think I can go to one of the events since we've got time for Twilight's birthday." Rarity states. "One of them mentioned about the art gallery coming this evening."
It got Kronk, Mario, and Golden Charm surprised of Rarity's suggestions.
"Um, Rarity, are you sure about that?" Mario questions. "I mean, you should think about the baby..."
"Mario, I'll be fine, Flora is not going to come out for the next 6 months." Rarity assures. "And besides, it'll give me the opportunity to spend some time with my son. Also, it can give me a chance to get out some more. I mean, we've been inside of the Carousel Boutique working on dresses...well, Kronk for the most part, but the point is, I really would like to get out more and not feeling stressed out all day."
Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm knows that Rarity made a valid point which it'll be in the next few days before Twilight's birthday, which they've got plenty of time here in Canterlot.
"But Mario, you don't have to come with us since you don't like the elite ponies so much, except Fancy Pants, but it gives you plenty of time for finding Twilight's gift." Rarity told him. "Now, I know a dress is a surprise for Twilight and I told her, but you will have to make it a surprise, just for her."
Mario blushed a bit, while rubbing the back of his head. Though, Rarity also made a valid point about the dress for Twilight's birthday which he'll have to find a present on his own. Also, it could give a chance for him to ask Twilight on a date.
After a few minutes later, Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm went to the art gallery to meet up with Silver Frames since she first invited her that evening. Mario went to find a gift for Twilight and not with them since Kronk is there for her along with Golden Charm.
Rarity was wearing a black turtleneck, black shoes, and a magneta beret on her head. Both Kronk and Golden Charm were wearing a tuxedo.
Silver Frames turned to Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm which she was surprised that they're here at the art gallery.
"Rarity, so wonderful to see you along with your friend and your son." Silver Frames said, but it got her worried. "But, are you sure you can come here for the event tonight?"
"I'm sure, and I can manage. I've been making progress for the past 5 months, and I'm sure I can make it in 6 months." Rarity informed her, rubbing her belly. "Also, it gives some time to spend my day with my son and Kronk."
Silver Frames then replied with a nod as they began looking at the artwork. The art of a floppy ponies painting. Several high-class ponies were discussing a particular artwork. Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm were listening to them talk.
"Um...what is that painting I'm looking at?" Golden Charm asks, confused.
"Why that artwork is called 'Persistence of Memory'." Silver Frames explains, turns to the Irish colt. "These melting ponies represents a lack of meaning and fluidity of time in the dream work."
"Huh, that almost sounded like something I know. I used to go to a museum with my birth parents back in Ireland." Golden Charm muttered with a ponder. "And I've heard that painting before."
"Oh? Do tell." Silver Frames said with interest.
"The 'Persistence of Memory' is a name of a painting that made Salvador Dali famous, but instead of ponies, he painted of melting clocks." Golden Charm explains. "But he made that painting in 1932."
Silver Frames, Rarity, and Kronk were surprised of Golden Charm's explanation.
"My, there might be some link about this painting. Hm, we should inform Princess Celestia about it." Rarity said as Kronk nods with an agreement.
Then, they turned back at the art while listening to them talk before given her a nod of approval and the others nodded with them. Silver Frames was relieved as they continued their way while looking at the art.
The next day in the morning, Rarity, Kronk, and Golden Charm went to Golden Gavels charity auction, he banged his gavel while offered a high-end vase for bidding. Golden Charm can tell that it cost a fortune to buy it which back in his world, they usually auctioned off some antiques, vehicles, furniture, artifacts, weapons, and sometimes livestock. Rarity was now wearing a magneta and pink gem encrusted dress with a headset while Kronk and Golden Charm were wearing a red bow ties. Rarity raised her fore-hoof and the other ponies just gasped, but soon followed her lead, shocking Golden Gavel.
That night at the fancy dinner party, Rarity was wearing a blue and yellow party dress with yellow shoes and hair in an updo. Kronk and Golden Charm were wearing a white shirt with black vest and a black bowtie. They noticed two waiter ponies placing two different hors d'oeuvres on the table. The others waited patiently for Rarity to make a choice. She made a decision and choses the one of the right while the high-class ponies do the same.
The next morning, Rarity, Kronk, Mario, and Golden Charm were about to get ready to leave for Ponyville since they've spent enough time in Canterlot. They spend their days packing up her bags which they noticed a letter that was on the floor. Mario uses his magic to levitate and opens the letter, reading:
'Dear Rarity,
I heard you've been spending your days in Canterlot with Golden Charm and Kronk. We're planning to move here to have my birthday party here, so you four won't miss it. I hope your progress of making a dress went well so I can get to see it.
See you soon,
Twilight Sparkle'
Rarity then gasped which it got their attention.
"Rarity, what's wrong?" Mario asks, worried.
"Twilight is planning to move her party here in Canterlot." Rarity informed him. "And it'll be in for a few days."
"Then, does it mean we're staying in Canterlot a little longer?" Golden Charm inquires curiously.
"I'm afraid so, and we're about to pack our things to get back to Ponyville, too." Rarity answered with a sigh, turns to Mario. "Were you able to get a gift for Twilight?"
Mario replied with a nod.
"Well, I suppose we're gonna have to unpack our things and wait for them to arrive." Rarity suggested. "And after this, I'm gonna head to the infirmary for the check-up since I asked a doctor for an appointment today."
And soon as they finished unpacking, they went to Canterlot hospital for Rarity's check-up since she's having an appointment. They were waiting inside of the hospital, waiting for the doctor to come in. Mario, Kronk, Rarity, and Golden Charm were waiting patiently as the doctor comes in.
"Hello, Mrs. Rarity, are you ready to see your foal?" The doctor asks.
"I am." Rarity replied.
"Alright, just roll to your right, and we'll start off your ultrasound." The doctor suggested.
Then, some more doctors brought in a machine for the ultrasound. The doctor rubbed some cream on her stomach, and then the wand connected to the device. As the doctor put the wand on her stomach, Rarity jumped a little.
"Oh, that's cold." Rarity said, jumped.
"Sorry." The doctor apologized. "But this isn't the first time that ponies jumped when this happened."
He then looked at the image coming from the ultrasound.
"Hm, that's interesting." The doctor said with a hum.
"What? What is it?" Rarity inquires curiously.
"According to this, the foal looks like it's about to be ready for the next 3 months." The doctor informed her which it got them shocked.
"What do you mean?" Mario asks.
"Mrs. Rarity has been pregnant for about 5 months now." The doctor explains. "But usually, a foal would be born after 11 months. Hers looks like it's been generating for 10 months. How is that possible?"
"Actually, I think I can answer that." Golden Charm said, earned his attention. "Flora and I were born as humans. And a human woman is being pregnant for 9 months at least."
"Oh, that make sense." The doctor said with an understanding. "Guess it's regenerating as fast as a human baby would. So, I guess your baby would be coming out for 3 months."
"I'm not sure how my friends are going to react to this." Rarity told him, then looked over at her son. "Thank you, doctor."
They then left the hospital which the doctor gave her the photo of the ultrasound. Fancy Pants noticed them heading back at the castle.
"Rarity, is there something wrong?" Fancy Pants asks, earned their attention. "You seem a bit troubled?"
"Actually, there is." Rarity said. "But, it'll be hard to explain."
Fancy Pants listens carefully while Rarity began to explain why she's in the hospital. After a few minutes of her explanation, Fancy Pants was shocked that Flora Heart will be coming out for the next 3 months.
"I see, that explains why you're in the hospital." Fancy Pants comments. "And how Flora was regenerating fast."
"I just don't know how my friends would react to this." Rarity said sadly. "But before you ask, I came from Ponyville and my friends were also from Ponyville. They may not be as sophisticated as some of you Canterlot ponies, but they are my best friends and without a doubt the most important ponies I know. And I must add that...while Mario may not have started out as a high-class pony nor does Kronk, but they worked harder than any other ponies I know. Mario is what you call the Master of Nature and Bolobo's successor. Kronk is also my co-worker and a big help for me ever since I hired him at the Carousel Boutique. I have met many stallions who are considered royalty, but both Mario and Kronk were the true definition of what a prince should be."
Both Mario and Kronk were touched by her comments and Fancy Pants was stunned.
"And as for Golden Charm, he and his sister had a hard life back in Galway, Ireland after their birth parents death and the government tried to separate them. It tore me apart after hearing their grave misfortune." Rarity continued. "But I didn't want them to suffer anymore since I took him in and volunteered of being pregnant for my daughter to be reborn, because I've made a promise to take care of them and they'd have a better life. But somehow, they changed my life. I have come to love and care for my children more than anypony in Equestria or anypony in their world. Both Golden Charm and Flora also held a very special place in heart and I love them more than anything."
Golden Charm then felt tears in his eyes, feeling touched of her words.
"Well said, Rarity." Fancy Pants said with a smile. "And apparently, I, for one, really like to meet your friends."
Rarity was left stunned.
"After telling me about your friends and your son, I felt touched by your comments of how much you care for the two of your children and your friends." Fancy Pants explains. "But to mind you, being important is not determined where a pony lives, who their family is, or how much wealth or influence they have. An important pony is somepony that makes a difference in a pony's life and works hard to make Equestria a better place. Why, those 5 littles ones I saw back at the Grand Galloping Gala made a big difference along with their mothers."
Rarity began to realize what Fancy Pants is telling her about being an important, beginning to understand.
"And that's why they're the true definition of what is considered to be an important pony." Mario adds. "Which is why we have to keep you in check for try anything."
"I understand." Rarity replied. "I guess I really never thought of that."
Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm smiled at that.
"But anyway, my friends will be arriving for the next few days here in Canterlot." Rarity told him. "They're planning to have a party inside of the castle."
"Well, I'll be seeing you then." Fancy Pants said as he walked away.
"Um, maybe we should get things ready for Twilight's birthday. You know, like..."
"Oh, don't you worry about a thing, Pinkie is surely had plans for Twilight's birthday." Rarity cuts in. "Besides, we've got time to spare and hopefully we can get the dress ready for her."
And with that, they head back inside of the castle since the Mane 5 and the 6 foals were planning to head for Canterlot for Twilight's birthday.
Few days later, Twilight and her friends arrived at Canterlot since they're currently inside of the ball room. Rarity, Mario, Kronk, and Golden Charm arrived with the dress next to them when they turned to the four.
"Hello, everypony, so glad you all could make it." Rarity greets her friends.
"Hi Rarity, we thought we can surprise you. When I got a letter of you spending time with your son and Kronk in Canterlot, I asked Pinkie Pie if it wouldn't be too much trouble to move my birthday party here." Twilight explains.
Pinkie Pie nodded with an agreement.
"Balloons are super easy to pack." Pinkie Pie said as she opened a small suitcase, and several balloons came flying out it.
"And really annoying to catch one." Rose Lotus muttered.
"So, Rarity, how are ya holdin' up?" Applejack inquires. "With the baby on the way?"
"Well, I don't know if I can tell you all, but...Flora is going to come out in the next 3 months." Rarity told them.
"WHAT?!" The Mane 5 and the 6 foals exclaimed in shock.
"What do you mean? How?" Storm Hawk asks.
"Flora's birth was a human, who's been pregnant for 9 months." Kronk explains. "Which it makes sense because she's regenerating fast as a human baby would."
"Hmm...makes sense." Twilight said with a hum. "Golden Charm and Flora were once humans back in their world."
"And it sounds like she'll be having a baby sooner than later." Mario adds.
They nodded with an understanding since Rarity is making much progress of her pregnancy, but Twilight noticed a dress.
"Is that my dress?" Twilight asks.
"It is. Kronk did most of the work on making that ensemble for you." Rarity said, causing Kronk to blush with modest.
"Well, I, uh, it's Rarity's idea of the sketch for the design and I did the dress." Kronk comments nervously.
"Oh now, don't be modest, darling." Rarity said. "While it's true I came up the idea, but we made and design. You also made the dress on your own."
"And it's beautiful, Kronk, thank you." Twilight thanked him, then turns to Mario. "And Mario, I wanted to ask you something."
"What is it?" Mario asks casually.
"Would you be my date?" Twilight asks. "If we're gonna have a real first date, I wouldn't mind it being on my birthday."
The 5 mares and the 4 fillies cooed while Kronk and 3 colts chuckled as Mario blushed shyly, rubbed his fore-hoof on the floor.
"It's official, best friends who are dating!" Rainbow Dash teased as she nudged his side.
Mario grabbed her and pinned her down with a death glare as she chuckled nervously.
"I'll stay out of it." Rainbow Dash said quickly before getting out of his grip.
"Way to ruin it, Rainbow/Mom." Storm Hawk, Comet, Daylight, and Apple Shine said with a deadpan look on their faces.
Mario took a deep breath before he calmed down and faced Twilight with a smile.
"I would be honored, birthday girl." Mario said.
"Ahh, young love." The voice of Fancy Pants with a smile, earned their attention when they saw him, Jet Set, and Upper Crust arrived along with Silver Frames, Golden Gavel, and Swan Songs. "It makes me very happy to see you found yourself such a charming filly to love."
Both Twilight and Mario blushed in embarrassment while the 5 mares and 4 fillies giggled, Kronk and the 3 colts joined in as they chuckled.
"So, these friends of yours are from Ponyville?" Fancy Pants asks, turns to Rarity.
"Why, yes, they are." Rarity answered.
"Well, I, for one, find them charmingly rustic." Fancy Pants states. "And I think that dress Kronk made for her is absolutely fabulous."
Kronk and Rarity beamed as the others smiled.
"How about you introduce me to your friends?" Fancy Pants suggested.
"With pleasure." Rairty replied.
And with that, they spend the day of introducing themselves to Fancy Pants and the high-class ponies and telling them about some of their adventures. Both Comet and Daylight presented their mother a birthday card that read:
May your birthday bring you many reasons to smile.
You are, and always have been a wonderful mother...and on your birthday I want you to know that I love you very much and appreciate all that you do for me.

Twilight was touched, and her heart fluttered as tears brings out from her eyes, hugging her children with a heartwarming smile on her face. The Mane 6, the 6 foals, Kronk, Jet Set, Upper Crust, Golden Gavel, Swan Song, and Fancy Pants couldn't help but smile at the heartwarming sight.
Mario presented Twilight with a custom-made charm bracelet, but he also gave her a kiss on the cheek. While she was annoyed at Mario making her blushed, she still appreciate the kiss and declared that she had her best birthday. They've also tried an Italian cake known as tiramisu, along with the carrot cake, which was homemade and made from scratch, much the high-class ponies delight.
