Naruto was excited, he had just learnt four wind style jutsu . Wind style: immense breakthrough, wind style: great breakthrough, wind style: air bullets and finally wind style: wind blade jutsu, learnt in that order. Why was Naruto allowed these Jutsu, even though he was a genin? Simple as an Anbu recruit, he was given a higher clearance level and access to jutsu.
Sakura herself was going to learn three earth jutsu, earth style: mud wall, earth style: great mud river and finally earth style: earth dragon bomb. She also had three water jutsu, water style: water bomb jutsu, water style: raging waves and finally water style: water wall.
Both had completed the first step of fire manipulation, leaf burning and were onto the second, which proved itself much harder than the first.
However in other maters, the Anbu training had moved them up, instead of just practicing assassination on dummies. They were doing lessons, where they simulate the environment of an assassination and the class had to practice. Naruto proved that he could not just plan assassinations but was now proving that he could take what he learnt and use it in the field.
They could finally keep up with the other recruits in taijutsu, and had learnt a few of the basic katas of kenjutsu, Naruto and Sakura had both learnt the codes and policies of Anbu that they had been taught.
"Hello, Naruto, Sakura," said Sarutobi, smiling sadly.
They had both learnt the jutsu they had chosen and were focuing on learning fire manipulation, which was much more difficult than their previous elemental manipulation.
"Both of you need to get used to killing, or at least as close to used to as you can get," said Sarutobi simply. Naruto and Sakura both went pale as the aging man expected them to, he was asking of them to do the one thing they didn't expect to do for many months or years.
"How?" asked Sakura, still as pale as ever.
"Simple, go down to torture and interrogation, they have a few people for you to kill, you will do this for a week then you will go onto a bandit elimination," ordered the Lord Hokage.
"hai," said Naruto and Sakura as they left. Sakura and Naruto used the teleportation jutsu to get there so they wouldn't be greeted by anyone especially their friends.
When they arrived they were led to two rooms filled with a person in each. Naruto went first as Sakura still looked pale.
Naruto went first entering the room to find a tied down Mizuki waiting for him. Mizuki had a gag in his mouth and was dressed in the dark blue clothing with the swirly insignia on the shoulder, he could only make noises, not being able to speak but Naruto could see the fear in his eyes, fear of what Naruto was about to do, what every shinobi knew they were always going to have to do.
'I should do this quickly, any other way would be painful for him, even if I hate him, he doesn't deserve the fear or the pain,' thought Naruto as he pulled out a kunai and stepped towards the bound chunin.
Mizuki struggled but the binds kept him in place, Naruto took another step and quickly brought the sharp blade into Mizuki's head, ending Mizuki quickly and efficiently. All Mizuki felt before his death was a sharp pain and then nothing.
Naruto didn't bother to take out the kunai as he looked horrified before walking over to a bin and vomiting heavily.
'Is this what it means to be a Shinobi? To be an Anbu? Would I really be able to do this every single time I am asked without hesitation? Could I really do this?' thought Naruto, horrified as he handled his own actions.
With Sakura, she came in to find a clean shaven black haired, blue eyed gagged man wearing dark blue clothing with the swirly insignia on his shoulder and a crossed out leaf headband.
She was even more terrified than Naruto and was holding onto her kunai, shakily. The man's fear was easily seeable he shaked around, but the binds held true. He then stopped struggling and started pleading with his eyes, Sakura looked at the man terrified and sad.
Sakura then released the kunai by throwing it towards the man who for the last few seconds looked resigned as the Kunai entered his head killing him quickly.
She herself grabbed a bin and began vomitting into it. This is the process which was repeated for the next six days, each day both got more used to killing or rather learned to live with their actions, until the seventh where a chunin took them out on a bandit elimination mission, which they completed quickly.
The bandits proved themselves to be no trouble especially with both of them attacking then the bandits could react and attacking the vital spots on the body they were taught to aim for such as the brain or the heart.
In the week of the final exam, Naruto and Sakura somehow came into contact with some... interesting people. Naruto was walking towards the training ground where he found Team 8 training or rather sparring. Naruto was confused as to what they were doing here as they didn't seem to use this training ground much or at all.
"Hey guys!" Shouted Naruto as he walked over to Team 8 which looked at Naruto, confused and for Kurenai ,surprised, she had thought his headband would have been taken away.
"Uzumaki, exactly why aren't you at the Academy right now? If I remember correctly Team 7 failed their Genin Exams," said Kurenai with a raised eyebrow.
"I was placed on... a special assignment, sempai," said Naruto, with a wave of his hand, trying to change the topic.
"What special assignment?" asked Kurenai.
"One that I can't tell you about unless the Old Man allows it," answered Naruto to which Kurenai was confused, what special assignment was high enough that not even a Jonin couldn't know it, the third highest rank in the Shinobi force between the Lord Hokage, and the commanders.
"Okay, since you are here, why don't you spar against Kiba, taijutsu only?" Asked Kurenai.
"Please, sensei, I could beat the deadlast, easily," said Kiba, boastfully.
"Hello Naruto," said the Aburame clan heir, Shino with a wave.
"Ah who are you?" asked Naruto, embarrassed.
"Shino Aburame," said Shino, annoyed.
"H-H-Hello-Hello, N-naruto-kun," said Hinata, blushing.
"You, okay, Hinata, you look sick," said Naruto, to which Kurenai sighed, Naruto of course was oblivious as ever.
Naruto and Kiba both did the sign of confrontation.
"Begin!" shouted Kurenai, as Kiba rushed towards Naruto who stood perfectly still, staring at Kiba unimpressed, with his hands on his pocket.
Kiba threw the first punch but it didn't connect as he punched what was empty air. Naruto had trained with other Anbu recruits who let me tell you were brutal combatants, they let nothing go, they attack hard and fast, capatilising on every mistake, Naruto has had swollen, broken, bones and jaw, honestly, he had suffered more pain in Anbu Black Ops than he had in the academy but with that pain came strength, Naruto had grown stronger.
Kiba than tried to kick Naruto but the kick didn't connect as Naruto once again dodged. Naruto's taijutsu was better than Kiba's beastly style as Kiba relies on pure brute force while Naruto relies on unpredictability and speed, the perfect style for the number one unpredictable ninja, it only took Naruto blocking and dodging four more attacks for Naruto to correctly understand and predict how Kiba was going to attack. So after Kiba punched, once again, Naruto let out a series of punches and kickes which took down the beastly boy quickly, and knocked him out just as fast.
"Winner, Uzumaki!" called out Kurenai 'He's supposed to be the deadlast but beat Kiba in 30 seconds, how?'
Naruto walked over and began shaking Kiba awake, Kiba woke up, looking shocked and awed, he honestly never expected himself to be beaten by Naruto of all people.
"How the hell did you do that?" asked Kiba, amazed but Naruto didn't answer as someone else did for him.
"The reason you didn't attack at once was because you were analysing Kiba's style, after you understood it, you began to counter it, you relied on faster speed than Kiba," explained Shino.
"Where the hell did you learn to do that?" asked Kiba, with awe in his eyes.
"The people I spar against analyse taijustu and capitalise on each weakness, they helped teach me how to, they also actually taught me how to disconnect bones, tendons and other parts too, making those parts useless, " explained Naruto, with a small smile.
"Whoa," said Kiba, imagining all he could do if he knew how to do that.
"May l ask who taught you to fight like this?" asked the young Aburame but Naruto shrugged.
"Sorry Shino, can't tell you, maybe one day," said Naruto with an apologetic smile.
In the village, Sakura was going shopping or more specifically looking at weapons she could also pick up other than the tanto. Right now Senbons were catching her attention but she was keeping her interest open, as any good kunoichi should. She didn't notice the young Uchiha who was also shopping here and the fangirls following her, sadly one of those fangirls had dragged her entire genin team with her.
Sakura knocked into Sasuke.
"Oh sorry... Sasuke-kun?!" asked Sakura, shocked. Sasuke looked annoyed, the fangirls stayed outside as the shopkeeper had refused them entry because as he said ' they are annoying, they take up space and don't even buy anything.'
"I thought you said no fangirls were allowed?" asked Sasuke to the shopkeeper.
"She was here before you and is going to buy senbon," said the shopkeeper, with a shrugging.
"Why would a weakling like you need senbon?" asked Sasuke, with a cruel smirk. Sakura was shocked, she hadn't even said anything, hadn't even asked him out on a date.
"Can you say that again?" asked Sakura, confused.
"Why would a weakling like you need senbons, learning them won't impress me, weakling," said Sasuke, smirking. Sakura was pissed, and this gave her alot of clarity on Sasuke's personality and gave her alot of questions, some of them she didn't clearly want an answer to.
"Are you so areogant that you think every girl is trying to impress you, you uchiha bitch?" asked Sakura as she grabbed senbon and moved to the counter. Sasuke was shocked, he had just been insulted by Sakura Haruno, fangirl number one, when did she change?
"What did you call me?" asked Sasuke angry, but Sakura just smiled sweetly as she was about to leave, Sasuke grabbed her arm, tightly, Sakura however tried to pull out of his grip but he tightened it the more she struggled.
"Let me go," ordered the bubblegum haired girl, angrily but Sasuke was hellbent on getting her to apologise.
"Apologise," said Sasuke, angry on his face but Sakura was in what one would call a mood.
"you first," replied the Haruno.
"I am an Uchiha, we don't apologize," said Sasuke with the usual arrogance that most Uchiha seemed to be infamous for, as he tightened the grip on her arm. Sakura did something the fangirls and Sasuke were never expecting, she punched him in the face, hard.
He fell back, shocked, his nose letting out blood clearly broken, as Sakura left. One or Two fangirls did try to attack Sakura but Sakura quickly incapacitated them.
"Anyone else?" asked the young Haruno, realising some killing intent for effect. The fangirls quickly scattered, terrified of the Sakura before them, one who would never be allowed to be walked over.
"Was I really this bad?" asked Sakura to no-one in paticular.
AN: If you are wondering why this chapter is so short, it is because I am writing this from my phone. Sakura can right now do about 3 C-rank jutsu before becoming tired, which is really impressive for a month's training, later she will be able to do more.
