Chapter 7: Jugo of the north hideout
"Humph, so we're going to the northern hideout now? At this rate, you'll be killed the moment we get there. I only know it through maps. But is the place really that bad?" Asked suigetsu.
"The northern hideout is no ordinary hideout." Stated suigetsu.
"That place, is where human experiments are conducted. And the unmanageable monsters that result are kept locked up there." Said Karin.
-Northern hideout-
"No, a female? No, I'll kill a male next, after all." The orange hair boy heard a scream before someone head hit the ground.
"I see so it already begun. Why why did you have to die?" Question the orange hair boy to himself pulling on his hair.
-konoha-
Sakura knocked on the door of sasuke house. She waited for him to open door and when he did he was in his sleeping wear with a box of cereal in hand. His eyes was squinted as he was eating the cereal from the box with no milk.
"Good morning sasuke-kun." Said sakura.
"Sakura today is our day off, how come you're up so early?" Questioned sasuke.
"It's already noon." Said sakura mentally shaking her head.
"Just wash up quickly and get dressed I'll be waiting." Said sakura.
"What for? I'm really just trying to sleep." Said sasuke.
"Lady tsunade has summoned us." Replied sakura.
-with naruto-
"Say, aren't you tired? How about a short break?" Asked suigetsu.
"You already taking a break! You are so hopeless! We still got a way to go til we get to the northern hideout!" Yelled Karin.
"My destination is different from yours. No need to bother with me. Just go on ahead." Said suigetsu waving Karin off and sipping on his water.
"I remember that I too have business at the northern hideout! So I'm going to take care of that first!" Yelled Karin.
-Northern hideout-
An orange hair boy grabbed his head in frustration as he was having bad memories.
-flash back-
Jugo in his curse mark stage one transformation ran towards kimimaro with a Boulder strapped to the back of his leg.
"Move! I'll kill you too!" Yelled jugo.
"Stop it, jugo." Said kimimaro causing jugo to stop a inch from punching him.
"That's enough." Said kimimaro causing jugo curse mark to fade away. Kimimaro walked towards Jugo placing a hand on his shoulder.
"You have me." Said kimimaro.
-flash back end-
"Without you, I can never leave this place." Mumble jugo to himself.
-with naruto-
Naruto and suigetsu sat on a rock as they took a break while Karin stood.
"Suigetsu." Said Karin gaining suigetsu attention.
"Why do you follow naruto?" Asked Karin.
"I have a goal, and if I stick with naruto I can fulfill that goal. Say I should really be asking you the same question, really." Said suigetsu.
"I don't know what your goals are but you want me to join your team despite knowing about jugo?" Asked Karin.
"I know him a little. We fought each other once. He had an unusual ability and was quite formidable. But I can't figure out what he was thinking. I understand he sought out orochimaru. He's got to be crazy." Said suigetsu.
"According to rumors, jugo usually has that unusual impulse well under control. But when he loses it he transforms into a ruthless killer. His personality and appearance change completely." Said Karin.
"In other words, he's a maniac who loves to kill people." Stated suigetsu.
"But to orochimaru, Jugos ability was enticing. He invented an enzyme based on jugo body fluids. Which induced the same condition in other shinobis."
Naruto just narrowed his eyes at Karin knowing what she was talking about.
"That's the curse mark, jugo is the one and only original carrier." Said Karin confirming naruto suspension.
-konoha-
"You're late!" Yelled tsunade. "What took you Two so long?! Cripes" yelled tsunade in frustration.
"I'm sorry." Bowed sakura.
"Sasuke was eating lunch which he calls breakfast." Said sakura.
"Now now, Tsunade." Said jiraiya trying to calm Tsunade back.
Sasuke walked in the room noticing jiraiya was here.
"Huh? Jiraiya? You're back!" Said sasuke his mood brightened up."
"It been a while eh, sasuke." Said jiraiya who been helping Kakashi train sasuke and also help sasuke control his curse mark since it was impossible to remove.
"Why didn't you tell me you were back? We had a hard time after you left you know." Said sasuke, Tsunade looking back in forth as she watched the two talk.
"I got the gist of it, I heard you played a real big part in helping take down an akatsuki member." Said jiraiya.
"That's for sure. I finally finished my new jutsu I practiced with Kakashi sensei." Said sasuke with a smile on his face.
"Oh, is that so?! You finally did it?!" Asked jiraiya.
"How about it? Wanna see my new jutsu?" Asked sasuke who was ready to leave the office.
"Well since I'm here, I don't mind if I do." Said jiraiya about to walk out the room with sasuke.
"I'm looking forward to this." Said jiraiya putting an arm around sasuke.
"Hey!!" Said sakura before punching the two on the top of the head.
-with naruto-
"Say can we rest a bit?" Asked suigetsu flopping on the ground.
"Suigetsu! You keep stopping to rest! We're almost at the hideout! Is is the sword? Is it too heavy for you? Then leave it, damn it!" Yelled Karin.
"Tell him, Naruto." Said Karin as she turned around to see naruto staring up at a rock.
"What's wrong?" Asked Karin.
"Where's the guy who's on watch?" Asked naruto.
"Huh?" Asked Karin as she looked up to see nobody.
"You're right, that's strange." Said Karin.
"Hey." Said suigetsu as he got naruto and Karin attention pointing in front of them.
They turned to see the guy before he dropped to the ground.
The group walked towards the man as Karin checked him over.
"He's the guy from the northern hideout. He's still breathing." Said Karin.
"What happened?" Asked naruto.
"You're naruto Uzumaki right? Help me." Said the man.
"What happened?" Asked suigetsu.
"It all started with the rumors that orochimaru was dead, the prisoners went wild. At this rate." The man couldn't finish as he died.
"Oh dear he died." Said suigetsu. Karin turned her head as she felt sense something in the distance.
A guy came crashing down with orange hair in dark skin. He cracked the ground as he landed and looked towards the group.
"What is that?" Asked suigetsu who didn't seem fazed.
"He's already in the curse Mark second state." Said Karin.
Naruto and the man just had a stare off neither man flinching or backing down.
Naruto rushed towards the man in a blink of eye before slashing the man chest. The curse mark receded as the man dropped to the ground.
"The northern hideout is over there. Let's go see jugo." Said naruto as he started walking in the direction of the hideout.
"Huh? Hey wait, Naruto!" Yelled Karin as she rushed to follow behind him.
-Northern hideout-
"A male, the next one I kill will be a guy, after all. All right, decided if the next one who comes through that door is a women I kill them." Said Jugo in his curse mark stage one form.
-outside the northern hideout-
"The guards have all been killed." Thought Karin.
"Then there's no way we can tell which one is jugo, eh naruto." Said Suigetsu.
"Karin, is jugo among them?" Asked naruto.
"Cripes, what a pain! Just wait a bit." She closed her eyes as she searched for Jugo in the group.
"Nope, he's not." Said Karin.
"Avoid killing them." Said naruto.
"You're from the hidden leaf after all. You should've killed that guy back there too, you know, so naive." Said suigetsu removing his sword off his back and getting in a stance.
"Let's go." Said naruto before moving in high speed knocking out a few of the prisoners.
"Stay away! You all stink!" Yelld Karin taking a step back.
Suigetsu swung his blade knocking out multiple groups of prisoners.
Naruto stood surrounded by a group of prisoners who circled him. Unsheathing his blade he disappeared in a flash before the body's dropped unconscious.
The group enter the prison before knocking out another group of prisoners.
"The keys! I found them!" Said Karin.
The group walked through the hallway until they stop when it was two opposite ways.
"Karin, which way?" Asked Naruto.
"Naruto! Why are you ordering me around, huh?!" Asked Karin.
"Can you just hurry and checked?" Asked suigetsu.
"That's the ability you pride yourself on, right? Asked naruto.
"That way!" Said Karin pointing left.
The group decided to walk to walk left before Karin stopped naruto placing a arm in front of him.
Naruto looked at Karin arm in curiosity. She soon started to lead him another away.
"What is it?" Asked Naruto.
"Actually it's this way." Said Karin pointing with a blush on her face.
"Let's go Naruto!" Said Karin.
"Why did you lie? Suigetsu went." He was cut off when Karin started to talk.
"Suigetsu has a big mouth that's why I don't like him." Said Karin grabbing naruto hand and dragging him down the hallway.
"Karin I can walk on my own." Said naruto.
Karin stop and looked at naruto his face red, before continuing walking down the hallway holding naruto hand. "Let's just go, Naruto-Kun." Said Karin who was blushing very hard which gained the attention of naruto.
She was blushing so hard she looked like a tomato and gave him flashbacks to hinata. He knew what this ment as he wasn't stupid anymore and didn't try to pull away.
-with suigetsu-
"So the curse mark really does transform the body into such an ugly shape. Naruto does your curse mark do the same?" Asked suigetsu. "Naruto are you listening?" Asked Suigetsu as he turned around to see he was talking to himself.
He clinched his fist in anger towards Karin. "That witch!" Thought suigetsu.
-with naruto and karin-
"Here?" Asked naruto who was still holding hands with Karin.
"Yeah, jugo inside." Said Karin who grabbed the key with her other hand walking towards the door to unlock it.
"All right I'm gonna open it!" Said Karin reaching for the handle. Suddenly her hand was yanked back by naruto hand.
"I'll go first Karin, just stay behind me." Said naruto.
Karin blush before walking back knowing Naruto will protect her. "Sure." Said Karin.
Naruto slowly opened the door to see jugo rushing towards him.
Naruto pulled out his sword but was too late as he was crushed into the wall by jugo. "Naruto!" Yelled Karin in horror.
Jugo started to laugh thinking he killed his opponent.
-konoha-
Sasuke stood in front of Tsunade desk with a bump on his head. He looked towards to jiraiya to see a bump also on his head. Before looking to tsunade to see a tick mark on her forehead and a angry look plastered on her face.
He towards sakura to see she was laughing nervously.
"I am so sorry, lady Tsunade." Apologize sakura.
"So what did you want to talk about?" Ask sakura with a smile on her face.
"Well there's certain information that's is being spread throughout the region. It's about that." Said Tsunade.
"Information? What? What about?" Asked sasuke.
"Orochimaru is dead." Said jiraiya is a serious tone causing sasuke and sakura to flinch.
"It seems Naruto Uzumaki killed him." Said tsunade in a equal serious tone as jiraiya.
Both sasuke and sakura eyes slowly widened.
"Is, is that true?" Asked Sasuke.
"There's no mistake about it. I heard it from a reliable source." Said jiraiya.
Sasuke smirked in realization. "Heh after all, there's no way that dobe will get killed by someone like orochimaru. That means Naruto will be coming back to the hidden leaf! Right?" Asked Sasuke.
"That doesn't seem to be the case." Said jiraiya.
-with naruto-
Jugo was still laughing as Karin fell on the floor shocked at what she was seeing. Jugo arm grew bigger before a large blast hit naruto who was still stuck in the wall.
"Naruto's chakra." Thought Karin.
Jugo looked at the wall which he thought he killed his opponent. Only to see a white hand grabbing his hand.
"Change." Thought Karin.
"Not another bootleg copy of me!" Yelled jugo with a crazy look on his face.
Naruto was slowly pushing jugo back in his curse mark two stage.
"Narruto you're quite the guy to be able to do a partial transformation!" Yell jugo before jumping back.
Naruto slowly climb out the wall with his face have covered white with cracks. His left eye was black with yellow pupils.
"I have no intention of fighting. I only wish to talk with you, Jugo." Said naruto.
"I'm getting you out of here." Said naruto as his curse mark disappeared.
"Get me out of here?" Question Jugo before he burst into laughter.
"Are you crazy?! Without him, without him I can't leave this place." Said jugo as memories of kimimaru flashed through his head.
"I'll say it once more, I have no intention of fighting. I came to get you out of here. Come with me." Said naruto.
"I can't leave here anymore!" Yelled Jugo as he ran towards naruto his fist cockback ready to punch naruto.
Naruto jumped above jugo as he landed a few feet away from jugo. Soon he started to run jugo not far behind him as he saw naruto stop and turn towards him.
He tried to punch naruto but naruto kept dodging Jugo attacks.
"Just kill that guy naruto!" Yelled Karin who was smiling and acting like a fan girl.
Jugo went to punch naruto but naruto jumped out the way as he punched the wall before he crumble into pieces.
"As if I'll let you get away!' Yelled Jugo as he ran towards Naruto. The smoke from the destroyed wall cause Karin to cough and cover his mouth.
"Geez! What is this place?" Said a voice from the smoke.
Walked out was suigetsu.
"You mean! You tricked me didn't you?" Asked suigetsu.
"You went and got lost on your own." Replied Karin.
"I just followed your directions!" Argued Suigetsu.
"Are you accusing me of tricking you?!" Asked Karin.
"How would I benefit from tricking you anyway?" Asked Karin.
"So you can be alone with naruto." Said Suigetsu with a grin.
"As if I'd do such a thing!" Argue Karin.
"Well, whatever but what's going on here?" Asked Suigetsu.
"Jugo went wild." Said Karin.
"So the two of you went to jugo after all. Where's Naruto?" Asked Suigetsu.
"He went out with Jugo." Said Karin not knowing what she just said.
"Oh wow I didn't know naruto swung that way." Laughed suigetsu causing karin to blush in embarrassment.
"Well it's Naruto he won't get beaten that easily. I wonder, did jugo get stronger?" Asked suigetsu.
"Well you can say that." Answer Karin.
"By the way, you said that he willingly came to orochimaru right?" Asked suigetsu getting a nod from Karin.
"Why?" Asked Suigetsu.
"To reform himself." Said Karin.
"Reform himself?" Asked Suigetsu.
"Orochimaru hideout was like a sanctuary." Said Karin.
"What does Jugo wish to be reformed from?" Asked Suigetsu.
"It's like an addiction. He can't do anything about it on his own. He wanted to suppress his urge to kill." Said Karin
"Kill!" Yelled Jugo as he laughed while chasing Naruto.
"You don't understand! I can no longer escape from this place!" Yelled Jugo.
"I'll beat you to death!" Laughed Jugo as he was ready to attack Naruto until a blade blocked his attack.
"What?!" Asked Jugo.
"You're using a different technique than before, Jugo. It's solid." Said Suigetsu.
"That's right! You're Suigetsu. I remember now." Said Jugo grinning.
"This guy is dangerous after all, Naruto." Said Suigetsu.
"Naruto?" Thought Jugo the name was very familiar.
"We didn't come here to fight. Let me talk to him." Said Naruto.
"I doubt anything you say will get through him. You just have to take him by force!" Yelled Suigetsu as he swung his blade colliding with Jugo hardern arm.
"Stop it, both of you!" Said Naruto.
"Keep going! Just kill each other off!" Thought Karin.
Suigetsu went for another swing until suddenly both Jugo and Suigetsu was wrapped in white snakes.
"Do you both want me to kill you?" Asked Naruto to the both of them who was shaking. Jugo was sweating and so was Suigetsu.
The white snakes slowly removed themselves from both Jugo and Suigetsu body going back into Naruto sleeves.
"Just now that was real bloodthirst." Thought Suigetsu.
"You're irresistible, Naruto." Thought Karin as she was twitching with a blush on her face.
Jugo curse seal slowly retracted after seeing the power from Naruto.
Jugo suddenly started to look around in fright before screaming. He went back to hide in his cell.
"Hurry up and lock me in!" Yelled jugo afraid.
"Jugo, I only came to free you. Come with me." Said Naruto.
"He's too scared." Said Suigetsu.
"No that's not it, I don't want to kill anymore people. I don't want to go outside leave me alone!" Yelled Jugo.
"What is this? Talk about split personality." Said Suigetsu.
"I told you so, Jugo has this uncontrollable urge to kill. He's unstable even though he really doesn't want to kill people." Said Karin.
"See this guy is dangerous, Naruto. I can't even walk in front of him without getting nervous." Said Suigetsu.
"What's with you guys? Just leave me alone!" Yelled Jugo.
"Orochimaru I dead. And this hideout been destroyed. If you stay here, you will die as well." Said Naruto walking towards the door.
"That's fine with me, I don't ever want to kill anyone again!" Replied Jugo.
"Don't worry Jugo, I will become your cage, I will help you anytime in need, I will help you control your curse seal." Said Naruto who was now near the door.
"What can you do? The only person who can make these urges stop is kimimaro. Without kimimaro I won't leave!" Replied Jugo.
"Kimimaro? You mean of the Kaguya clan?" Asked Suigetsu.
"Yeah Jugo and kimimaro were especially favored by orochimaru. They were kept together in this hideout for human experiments. For a long time. Plus kimimaro was strong, jugo was valuable for human experiments. And kimimaro was the only one able to stop Jugo rampages without hurting him." Explained Karin.
"Jugo, I've meet kimimaro before, I even fought him. He died in battle trying to retrieve a close friend of mines by the name of sasuke. It's sasuke to blame for his death. Me and kimimaro was much much alike. I only wish to help you, he died for my sake to. He was originally suppose to get sasuke but orochimaru got his hands on me who was much stronger." Said Naruto.
"Died for your sake? Then your Naruto Uzumaki orochimaru always speaked of." Said Jugo.
"Yes." Replied Naruto as he slowly saw Jugo opened the door.
Jugo thought of the old memories when orochimaru came to him and talked about Naruto. How Naruto was able to change a lot of people and how calm Naruto was. He slowly and nervously stepped out the room.
-outside the hideout-
"Now, I have all members I had in mind. So I will tell you my goal. My goal is to destroy the akatsuki and take down the leader. And to destroy konoha for all they're crimes they committed. Then finally i will settle down and rebuild my clan." Said Naruto shocking the group.
"What? But we aren't ready for that." Said Suigetsu who was nervous.
"Don't worry I'm not stupid, as a team you guys can take on an akatsuki member maybe even an akatsuki duo but alone you will get killed. So that's why we will train, well I will train all of you. But first I need a important scroll to do that." Said Naruto calming everyone down.
"What scroll?" Asked Suigetsu.
"The forbidden scroll of seals, it's konoha most valube item in the village, it contains every jutsu that konoha knows in that scroll from B-Rank to S-Rank jutsu. It have almost every strong jutsu you can think of and from every element. It all the water jutsu you can think out Suigetsu." Said Naruto causing Suigetsu to grin.
"It even have high level seals Jugo, which will make you fill even more safe." Said Naruto as he watched Jugo nod as he was feeding a bird seeds that was on his shoulder. It wasn't no random bird it was Naruto summon name Rio.
"I once stole this scroll before when I was twelve it's not hard to do." Said Naruto gaining shocked faces from the group.
"You stole konoha most prized item when you was a kid?!" Asked Karin in who was shock.
"Yes and I managed to learn one A-Rank jutsu the multi shadow clone jutsu. You may think they are regular clones butt they aren't." Said Naruto making a hand sign before a huge puff of smoke surround the group.
Everyone eyes widened seeing hundreds of Naruto.
"These aren't illusions either they real solid clones, it can make for a deadly jutsu when you have hundreds of clones against you. Not only are theses clones used for combat but for information gathering. When the clone dispell I gain all the memories from the clone." Said Naruto looking over at his group who was pondering something.
"Yes as you all can guess they can be used for training, you can gain months even years worth of training in a day. But it don't translate muscle memory so that mean you have to gain muscles on your own. But it can also be dangerous, if you don't have enough chakra you can die. And if you abuse this method of training you can die from brain damage over load. That's why I rarely used it in my training with orochimaru."
"But the only person who can possibly do the jutsu here is Karin due to the amount of chakra that's needed to perform the jutsu." Said Naruto causing Jugo and Suigetsu to frown while Karin grinned.
"But if you control you're chakra to almost perfection you can also use this jutsu too." Said Naruto to Suigetsu and Jugo causing they're mood to lighten up.
"So now you see how much value this scroll hold, i bet once we still it the whole village will go in panic mode and place the village on lock down." Said naruto.
"So how we get the scroll?" Asked Karin.
"Don't worry about that leave that to me." Said Naruto.
"Wait Karin, I thought you had to take care of business?" Asked Suigetsu causing Karin to jump.
"Oh, yeah I forgot you did say that." Said naruto.
"W-Well on second thought it's not that urgent." Said Karin blushing.
"Karin ve honest with yourself. Isn't being with Naruto and getting to rebuild you clan with him is all you want?" Teased Suigetsu.
"That's not true! Whoever said such a thing?" Yelled Karin.
"See, I hit it right on the mark. That's why you're speechless so obvious. I know all about it, long ago you had a crush on Naruto." Tease Suigetsu.
Karin glared at him before punching him in the head only for it to turn to water.
"Suigetsu, don't get Karin so worked up. I thought I told you to he cooperative so stop teasing her." Said Naruto in defense of Karin, he also defended her because she was his only surviving relative and she felt like family. Something he never had and it made him happy in side even tho he didn't show.
"All right sorry Karin. But as much as you hate it I'm sticking to Naruto like glue. At least until I possess one of the seven hidden mist blades. Kisame Hoshigaki, great shark fin sword." Said Suigetsu.
"So you're just collecting? How lame." Said Karin.
"Suigetsu." Said Naruto in a knowing tone.
"I know." Said Suigetsu folding his arms over his chest.
"Jugo what about you? Are you coming?" Asked Suigetsu.
"Orochimaru always told me stories about Naruto and used to say he was kimimaro reincarnation, so I want to see with my own eye's. Just how great of a ninja you are." Said Jugo.
"Then it's all set! We will be known as team hebi and will should start by going to the nearest village to get jugo a different set of clothes so nobody thinks he's a prisoner on the lose. We should also grabbed supplies, food and sleeping wear as well." Said Naruto digging in his belt.
He took out his frog wallet before handing out everyone a decent amount of cash. "With me of course you will all get paid, and remember we all comrades here so we shall hold no secrets between us, I trust you guys with my life." Said Naruto causing the group to smile and put the money away.
"No secrets!" Said suigetsu with a grin as the group started walking to head to the nearest village.
Naruto followed behind them as he inwardly smiled to himself. This kinda gave him deju vu vibes with team 7 but for some reason this felt better. Maybe because he didn't have a favoritism sensei, a stuck up ass Uchiha and a fan girl who kept hitting him.
He saw this group as family even tho he and Karin was actually family. Looking at it, it did really look like team 7. As Suigetsu acted a bit like him when he was younger but a bit more mature. Suigetsu was quite like sasuke but suigetsu wasn't some stuck up ass like sasuke. And Karin was a bit like sakura with her hot temper and was book smarts.
But unlike sakura she was useful and wasn't annoying and was a real ninja who can defend her self. And not to mention he and Karin was family.
Noticing Karin mood seemed a bit off. He walked closer to Karin. Her head a down with a embarrassed look. He placed his hand on her shoulder causing her to look up and blush at him.
"It's alright Karin, no more secrets remember?" Said Naruto trying to cheer Karin up. It had to be embarrassing for her to have everyone know who her crush was even tho it was obvious.
-konoha-
"What's the matter with him? Orochimaru is dead, so why isn't he returning to the village?" Asked Sasuke.
"Even I don't know, nobody even knows why he left even tho I can take a guess." Said jiraiya.
"But I do know he intends to approach the akatsuki knowing they a enemie to him." Said jiraiya. "Well, let's get going. Operation "Track Akatsuki" is still ongoing, right?" Asked Sasuke.
"Yes." Replied Tsunade.
"Then we hunt down Akatsuki, hopefully we run into Naruto on the way and he bring him back." Said sasuke.
"What happened if you don't find Naruto and you run into Akatsuki?" Asked Jiraiya.
"Then we take them down, if we take down more akatsuki members our chances of finding Naruto increases." Said sasuke.
