Chapter 5: hope never dies

5 days later, Klein and Mona finally fully recovered from their injuries. He is so happy to see that he can now not only walk without limping but also run again, and Mona can fully use her now recoverd arm, as they thanked Ellie and Jacob. Jacob in his full mage hunter attire is having a tea moment with mona with her fixed casual wizard clothing; while Ellie leaves Klein's already repaired clothes and hat as he had taken a shower and finished drying himself off on this room, when he finally came out in his room now fully dressed he sees Ellie searching for some stuff to read, he looked at which books she separeted to read: a book about the history of the bards, a artesian guide book, a book about the fauna and flora of the shatter and two romance novels; he decides to join in and says "hi Ellie!" "oh hi Klein, again is good to see you now completely well, do you want to go get some books too?" said Ellie "yes" said Klein; then he got 2 adventure books, a book about destruction magic, a story book and... he saw 16 books in blue cover that stood different from the others, he grabbed one of the books and realized that it's a instance of the first edition, he heard that this book is sentient and is very helpful so he grabed 3 of these books and he kept it in case if he, his sister Mona, Ellie and her brother Jacob went outside and see something that he and the others could use the books to scan and get building recipes like a forge, a bullet crafting station, a potion brewing station, a sewing mechana... he comes to Mona and hands her one of the instances of the book as well gave other to Ellie and explaining about the book properties and she gladly accepts while he kept the other to himself and decides to join with Ellie to read with her, it was again raining outside but this time is a huge thunderstorm with heavy rain; as both he and Ellie were reading the artesian guide book.

When suddently *CRASH* both he and Ellie hears a huge crashing sound alongside the slight rumbling feeling that came for awhile after the huge noise, he sees both Jacob and Mona running towards him and Ellie as a shocked, surprised and confused expression in their faces "did you guys hear that?! that didn't sound like a thunder!" said Jacob exclaiming "did something big fell down the sky?!" said Mona; Then Klein and Ellie looked towards at each other since they also heard the noise and felt the rumbling "yes" said Ellie then Klein came and said to the others "let's go look at the window and see what is happening", then they 4 went to the window and saw what was happening in the outside, what they saw was shocking.

Klein's pov:

I saw shock, disbelief and worry that not only a huge airship crashed to the ground, i could see 4 black out people who appears to be other gunmancers who were in the airship slowing waking up and walking to the way towards our tower but also i saw that there's now not just rain falling... the chaos is also falling down from the sky! the world... is ending! me, Ellie, Jacob, and Mona saw and each other in panic and despair when suddently not only me but also my 3 companions heard a friendly and reasuring female ghostly voice in our heads.

"don't panic you 4, i am the cryptomancer i am delivering you 4 a message that the tower you 4 are residing is not only the chronomancer's tower, but also these 4 gunmancers are friends, not only them 4 but also you guys are also my newest picks, you 8 are not my first one because my first pick the inventor of gunmancy herself Hilda Bulla and her fellows the raiders are dead, but you 4 and they 4, can not only bring them back as well your families but also save the world, don't worry about the tower it won't be destroyed, you 4 must go receive them, they already crafted their guns and will fight the chaos in order to get arcana to open the portal to you guys tower, i hope that you 4 and they will get along since they will be your new roomates, now go see them and activate the portal with them, i already told them that you guys are coming to help them and are willing to let them stay".

as me and the others heard it we decided to go to the outside, find and aid these 4 gunmancers who survived the crash since they are also the choosen ones to save the world like us; as we went close to the ruins of what was once a... graveyard/park? we saw them, these 4 gunmancers and they were fighting the chaos and they all are real good fighters, me, Mona, Ellie and Jacob joined them and we and they gave the fatal blow, one of them looked at me and saw in confusion the fact that me and my sister are having 2 mage hunters by our side and that they are also among the cryptomancer's choosen ones like me and mona the same way as them "so... you, that other gunmancer and these... 2 mage hunters are also..." said one of them who has yellow eyes like me "yes we are, quick come and join us at the portal to the tower" before we could go get inside me and the others saw her it was the cryptomancer herself just like in the books she is a ghost figure in blue energy and light, she looked like she has an undetermined age and had long beautiful white hair, blue skin, glowy azure eyes and blue robes she looks happy and tells us 8 "very well, you guys managed to stand against the chaos, now go to the portal to the tower, i cannot join and neither accompany you guys to the tower with the exception of some allies you guys will make in the future, but good luck"... before she disappeared; me, Mona, Ellie and Jacob and each of the 4 gunmancers got the bits of arcana and together we used the necessary amount to activate the portal to the tower which had become not only mine, my sister and Ellie and her brother's home but also was this entire time was once the home of the legendary chronomancer; the portal flashed to life and we all entered to portal and we alongside them 4 went back to our home.

as we 8 entered it through the portal that was near the door to the outside the tower, the 4 gunmancers went to the giant hand god machine and we joined them too as the hand grabbed our souls i could feel that if we get killed we will revive inside the tower because of it, me, Ellie, Jacob and Mona examined the new 4 gunmancers who are now our roommates: all of them 4 are noirmagus like me and my sister Mona but they are are furred variant in this case a short fur one, which is very short at point that is just the undercoat covering, and the fur is fuzzy and soft but also is pitch black like the skin under it; the first one who appears to be younger than us, he had medium lenght straight black hair, tourquiose eyes a blue wizard pointy hat, a typical warlock attire with a golden skull amulet on his yellow, white and purple plaid scarf handkerchief around his neck, and brown leather gloves and matching brown leather boots; 2nd one is also a female, she has cyan eyes, long straight pink hair tied into low tight pigtails, a purple dress robes, a also a blue wizard pointy hat like the other one but it has an yellow chamomile flower on it, a matching blue shawl with a golden bell amulet and a pink ribbon, beige leather gloves and matching beige leather boots; the 3rd is also a furred variant like the others but he is also a tailed variant dressed as a magus with a green pointy hat but without brim with a placed black feather from a crow or a raven on it, a orange sweater jacket, purple frame glasses, he has a long a bit wavy light brown hair and his desert mouse like tail has a tuft of hair that matches his hair color at the end of it in it's tip and he also has yellow eyes like me; while the last and 4th one is a female with a short kinda-wavy straw blonde hair with natural normal blonde highlights, pink eyes, a green and white necromancer's dress robes, a necromancer's flowered straw hat, dark nearly black adorned leather gloves and matching boots and a crimson kitty amulet and like the other tailed noirmagus she is also an tailed variant which is also desert mouse like one with a tuft of matching hair at the end in the tip.

i asked them "what is you guys name? my name is Klein, Klein Starchaser and i am 28 years old and this gunmancer in purple hair and orange eyes in red is my baby sister Mona" then Mona introduced herself "yes, as you guys heard, my name is Mona, Mona starchaser, i am 22 years old and as you guys now know this is my big brother Klein and these 2 mage hunters, Ellie and her brother Jacob are our friends" then i said "yep, they are and don't worry they are good and merciful people" i said then Ellie introduces herself "yep and my Ellie, Ellie Carnelian, i am 26 years old and this is my little brother Jacob" "yup and my name Jacob, Jacob Carnelian and i am 24 years old and i am Ellie's brother and you guys"? then the turquoise colored eyed noirmagus said "my name is Tomás, Tomás Hexiel, i am 19 years old and this furred pinkette and cyan colored eyes noirmagus is my twin sister Curie" he said and then his twin sister introduced herself "yes me and Tomás are twins, and of course my name is Curie, Curie Hexiel since i am Tomás twin i do have 19 years old too"; the tailed light brunette tailed noirmagus introduced himself "my name is Fahim, Fahim Eclipse, i am 20 years old and that other tailed noirmagus who is blonde with natural highlights is my little sister Panambi" "yup, i am Panambi, Panambi Meadows, i am 18 years old, and that's true i am Fahim's sister" said Panambi.

As we tell each others our stories; they not only cleary understood and felt pity towards me and my sister as well Ellie and her brother and reassures that Ellie and her brother Jacob did the right thing and they felt bad and sorry for what happened to their parents since Tomás and Curie lost theirs to the militia cult members too, so they do have the same common enemies as us, the militia cult member's specially the cult of the steel; Tomás and his twin sister Curie told us that their parents had been murdered by militia cult members like Ellie and Jacob's parents when they both were in their very first month of their life and they had been raised by one of their mother's siblings who is one of her sisters and her husband who is their uncle and their 4 children who is 4 of their cousins, after the cultists spared their lives and left them in their aunt's doorstep since they found their parents contacts, and that their parents Patch Hexiel and his wife Amélia were also among Hilda's best students like mine and Mona's mother since they were went to study under Hilda's tutelage at 14 years old, and the Hexiel twins and their friends and Eclipse/Meadows siblings are among the descendants of the cronomancer's lineage, while the twins told that they are the direct descendants of the grandson of the chronomancer who is one of the main founders of the Hexiel family clan as well the Skywisp and Hexwisp clans, while Fahim and his sister Panambi are the descendants of the direct and the indirect members of the cronomancer's lineage in this case the grand niece and the foster grand nephew of the cronomancer and the grand niece gave origin to the Meadows clan and the foster grand nephew gave origin to the Eclipse clan.

after we told our stories and interests; Tomás came and says "good, but we need to find not only the the first edition books but also the pieces of the wheel we must repair it, because the world is gone and we need to rebuild it and stop the chaos! and we also need to repair the research mechana..." "brother is right, we need to get our first edition books as well fix the wheel because we must find the other pieces that are in the outside and be able gather supplies, resources and ingredients" said Curie as she, her brother, Fahim and Panambi went to search for the cog pieces of the wheel and me, Ellie, Jacob and my sister decided to join them to help, it didn't took long to not only Tomás, Curie, Fahim and Panambi get their own first edition copies but also Tomás and Curie found the piece of the wheel that was hidden, Ellie and her bro Jacob found the other one and then my sister Mona came to me and the others "guys! i found the last one!" "good, now let's fix the wheel" said Fahim as we 8 went to the broken time wheel, we inserted the 3 missing pieces as Fahim went to do some repairs and Tomás went to help his friend after the repair job Panambi says "all right now we must turn the wheel it will be enough to bring back not only our respective families who are alive but also bring Hilda back to life and a part of the world"! then me the others turned the wheel, we felt a surge and a shockwave of energy that is rewinding the time in some way showing that a portion of the world had rebuilt, i see everybody smiles and Ellie says happily "it worked" it makes my heart beats to see her so happy and i feel so happy for not only myself but also she and the others and i smile too knowing that there's hope to save the world and it is in our home this entire time.

then Fahim says "alright now before we go out to the world to find Hilda Bulla tomorrow we must repair the research mechana and give it some few upgrades then have some rest does anyone has enough materials specially wood, scrap and manuscripts?" then Ellie and i went and showed him a chest with enough things to help with the repairs, after the research mechana roars to life again; me, Ellie, Jacob, Mona, Tomás, Curie, Fahim and Panambi look at each other smiling and proud seeing that not only we are going to make good friends, roommates and a team, but also that hope truly never dies and it's up to not only us but also any of some possible allies we will make in our way and thankfully our tower is very big to for more people and some guests as both me and Ellie holds our hands.
