Chapter One
The Deal and the Date

"I-I love you!"

Tabitha Anderson slowly opened her turquoise-colored eyes. Did Yugi Mutou, her best friend of two years really confess his love to her? Where was she anyways? She looked around and found herself in the school infirmary room. She was lying on the bed, and she found Yugi sitting in a chair next to her bed with his head lying down on the bed near her and his fingers intertwined with hers. He was holding her hand… while he slept… Tabitha blushed a bright crimson. As she moved up in the bed to sit up, Yugi began to move and then he moved up and his eyes stared into hers. And that damn blush wouldn't go away from her cheeks! Dammit!

"Are you alright? I was worried." Yugi looked at her with concern in his violet eyes. "You had fainted… after I - after I confessed my feelings for you." He looked down at their joined hands as he blushed brightly, then looked back up at her face as he searched into her beautiful eyes. She swallowed hard. So, Yugi did confess his feelings for her… she had not dreamt that up. If she was acting like her usual self, she would have turned him down already, she was considered an ice queen… every time a guy would try to confess his feelings to her or ask her to be his girlfriend - she was cold and unfeeling when it came to that… but as of right now… she wasn't acting like herself, her heart was beating fast, really fast. And she thought it was going to burst from her chest and she couldn't stop blushing! And she didn't have the heart to take her hand away from Yugi's either. "Before you turn me down right away like you do everyone else."

Tabitha bit her bottom lip. He knew her all too well.

"Let's make a deal."

Tabitha blinked at his words. "Ma-make a deal? What kind of deal…" she asked slowly.

"Become my girlfriend." He said with boldness in his voice. She blinked again; unsure what to say. "Yugi, I—" He shook his head. "It's not what you think, become my girlfriend for six months."

She raised an eyebrow at him. "Only six months, why only that long? W-wouldn't you want longer than that?" she questioned. He let out a sigh. "I would love us to have a lasting relationship." he said with a bright blush. "But I know you may not be comfortable being with someone right away… but I would like you to give this a chance, give me a chance, and if it doesn't work out - we can go back to the way it was. Please Tabitha, do we have a deal?"

She looked back down at their joined hands, and she felt her heart beating quickly. "I- alright, I'll be your girlfriend for six months." His violet eyes lit up then and she felt like her heart was soaring. He then removed his hand from hers (which she felt sad about, she actually liked holding his hand.) He then went and kissed her cheek. They both blushed even deeper red.

"Thank you, Tabitha!" But then he just realized maybe he shouldn't have kissed her cheek and backed away slightly. "I-I'm sorry, was I too forward?" he asked shyly.

"N-no, that's okay." she said softly. It wasn't like she wasn't kissed on the cheek by a boy before, her ex-boyfriend did that a lot… but then she found him cheating on her with another girl and Tabitha was heartbroken after that - that was why she never wanted to date again, but a part of her knew that Yugi would never do that to her, he was an innocent person with a kind heart… but she was still partly scared that she would get hurt. 'Yugi won't hurt me, he won't… I just hope I don't end up hurting him…'

"You're going on a date with Yugi?" a grin formed on Mai Kujaku's face as she looked at her friend. "W-well, he is my boyfriend now." Said Tabitha with a slight blush on her cheeks and Mai's grin widened. "It's about time!"

"Huh!?" Tabitha looked at her in shock.

"Oh, don't give me that look. Yugi has been in love with you for a long time! When I first met you guys in Duelist Kingdom, he was head over heels in love with you back then." she said with a wave of her hand. Tabitha blinked her turquoise-colored eyes, Yugi liked her back then too? And yet she never noticed? Was she really that clueless? "How long have the two of you known each other?" asked Mai.

"Um, since we were fifteen, so two years."

"I wonder… if he's been in love with you since you first met? Y'know, love at first sight?"

Tabitha put her hands together in a nervous way and looked at them. "I-I don't know, I've never noticed… I just thought he wanted to be friends at the time." Mai sighed. "You!" she pointed at her. "Are one clueless girl." Tabitha blinked at Mai.

"Am I really that bad…" she asked with a sad look on her face.

Mai frowned at her. Something was bothering Tabitha and Mai see that. But she let it go, she didn't want to pressure her. "No, you're not that bad." She then placed a hand on her shoulder. "Tell me, what are you going to wear on your first date?"

"Uh, I dunno… maybe a tee shirt and some jeans-"

"OMG! You are so hopeless! Do you have anything that is cute, like a cute dress or something?"

"Nope." Tabitha said with a straight face and Mai did a facepalm. "That's it! We are going shopping!"

"But Mai!"

"No nothing, missy!"

Today was not going to be her day… and tomorrow was her date with Yugi! Oh, boy… what has she gotten herself into?

Today was the day of the date. They agreed to meet at the mall at noon and Yugi felt his heart sped up as got closer to the entrance of the mall. He was here early, like ten minutes early… but then he noticed so was she. He noticed her right away, but his heart stopped when he fully looked at her. She was too cute! And he couldn't stop the blush that appeared on his cheeks. She is wearing a violet (which is his favorite color by the way) tie shoulder shirred ruffle hem cami dress that came to her mid-thigh showing off a good portion of skin and her nice legs… she also is wearing a violet chocker and violet slip-on shoes on her feet. Her long wavy brown hair with blonde highlights was pulled up into a bun with a white flower in her hair. She had light makeup on to top everything off. 'Move Yugi, move!' So, he did. "Tabitha!"

Tabitha looked up and saw Yugi, there he stood at 5'4" (he was only 5'0" when he was fifteen…) she stood taller than he by an inch. His hair was still the same tricolor, blonde lighting bolt bangs, while the rest of his hair was shaped like a star and was black with red highlights in them. Big innocent violet eyes that showed kindness and love in them, light, fair skin (much like hers) He is wearing a black chocker around his neck. A light purple button-down shirt, a violet vest over top, and blue jeans with black shoes. And his wrists are a pair of black and silver wristbands. He was smiling at her, and she couldn't help but blush.

"Hi." she said shyly. "You can blame Mai for me being dresses liked this…"

He blinked. "Mai?"

She nodded. "Yeah. I told her that we are dating… I didn't say it was going to be only for six months though…" she said quickly. She looked up at Yugi and searched his eyes. "Was I not supposed to tell her?" Yugi gave her a small smile. "I'm glad you told her! Besides, you look really cute!" he said brightly. "You don't look too bad yourself…" she muttered to herself. But Yugi just happened to hear her, and he blushed, he then grabbed her hand in his, their fingers intertwined. "Come on! Let's get something to eat!"

"O-okay."

The date was great, to say the least. She always had fun with Yugi, and she had to smile - she didn't know why she was so nervous, to begin with, this was Yugi… but it was the fact that she was dating Yugi that made her nervous. But he made her feel at ease at the same time, and she was grateful for that. After they ate, they looked at some shops (mostly window shopping) and held hands as they walked. A bright smile was on Tabitha's face as was Yugi's - but as they walked out of the mall, trouble began to brew, in the form of a couple of teenagers looking for trouble.

"Hey, you sexy little thing, how about you ditch the shorty and spend some time with me!"

Yugi's right eye twitched. His back facing the guy. Tabitha's back was facing him as well, she looked over her shoulder and gave one look at him and then looked back at Yugi, completely ignoring the guy behind her. "Come on, Yugi." Yugi nodded and began walking off together but the idiot behind her grabbed her shoulder. "Hey! Don't ignore me-!?" Tabitha was fast, she slipped her hand away from Yugi's and spun around so fast and took the random's guys arm from her shoulder and flipped him over her shoulder, hard. He fell on his back with a cry.

"Don't touch me!" Tabitha said with narrowed eyes, Yugi's jaw dropped open.

"Bro!" the other teen cried. He had tears in his eyes, he then looked at Tabitha. "You-you he-she!"

"What the hell did you call me!" she growled, and Yugi had to hold her back from beating the guy up. He held her against him and placed his chin against her shoulder but looked straight at the guy who upset his girlfriend. He narrowed his eyes at him. His voice was laced with venom. "Watch how you talk to my girlfriend."

The boy gulped. As he stared at Yugi. And Tabitha blinked, she never heard Yugi speak in such a way before… the guy blinked as well. "Hey… aren't you Yugi Mutou… the King of Games?" he suddenly asked.

Yugi blinked. "I am." He then frowned when he saw the guy sweating. He suddenly stood up and bowed to both of them making them blink in surprise. "I-I'm so sorry! And so is my idiot of a friend!" his other teenager opened his eyes and groaned, grunting in pain. "I am not—" his friend glared at him. "You idiot! That's the King of Games! He beat Seto Kaiba! And you are sorry! That's his girlfriend!" He grabbed his hurt friend and bowed again and muttered another "Sorry." Before they rushed down the street.

"Well… that was weird."

They said in unison.

Then she just now seemed to notice at that moment that she was in Yugi's arms, and she blushed. "Um… you can let me go now." She muttered softly. He immediately let go of her, his cheeks aflame. He then took her hand in his again. "Come on, I'll take you home." He said softly as he gave a small tug, and she blinked at first but followed him anyways. Her heart beating a mile a minute and her cheeks burning hot.

"Thank you, Yugi, I had a fun time." She said with a small smile.

"I'm glad."

Silence…

Yugi was holding both of her hands this time. He then leaned in… wa-was he going to kiss her!? But wasn't that too soon? To forward!? He then moved to the side of her where her cheek was and kissed her cheek. And a part of her felt some disappointment inside. But why? Did she want Yugi to kiss her on the lips? Give her the kiss her ex-boyfriend never gave her? The door just then slammed open. "Sweetheart your ho-" Tabitha and Yugi's eyes widen in horror, standing before them was a very pissed off father, Tabitha's father. "What the hell is going on here!" he said in a creepy eerie tone of voice.

They were in deep shit.

And the father appears XD What trouble will Yugi and Tabitha get into when the parents find out that they are dating? This was five pages long (Yay for me XP) Hopefully the next chapter won't take as long as before.
