AND I'M BACK! This time Gods Guard! Yeah, I figured this one might actually let me try and update, cause I want to try it right now. Anyway summary!
So last time, we saw Naruto's 'Emergency response Team' Meaning a team of Pokémon he's assembled specifically to combat higher tier threats to the overall peace of the realm, like a full on war between Dialga and Palkia, a massive Pokémon army that's very aggressive like Mewtwo tried in his first movie, or a group of humans who have made a threat to all life, like Lysander has accomplished. They are not his normal team, merely a group he has built to combat real, world ending threats. I do have to say that I'm sad that no one picked up on my hints for the true mega form I have planned for Ryu. I didn't exactly try to hide it.
ANY WAY, Let's get this show on the road!

(The sight of the battle)
The brilliant light quickly dissipated after the initial flash. Everyone was slow to remove their hands from their eyes, fearing another blinding flash of light if they removed them too quickly. When they did however, the majority of them were confused. There was no sign of Ryu anymore. And the sky was completely covered in dark grey clouds, without a break in them in sight.
Lysander, however, wasn't one of the confused people.
He wasn't stupid or arrogant enough to think that the Rayquaza just disappeared. He had clearly seen the signs of a mega evolution beginning before the light had forced him to shut his eyes or go blind. And after the light dies down, there's no sign of it and the sky is covered in clouds for miles in every direction? He knew for a fact that the creature was above the clouds. He just couldn't see it yet.
Besides, his visor had a rather useful function for battling. They showed him ambient energy levels in the area, allowing him to have a rough idea of how strong an opponent is or at the very least, a minimum amount of strength. He never assumed that the energy levels he could see were the maximum, he'd made that mistake far too many times to do that again, so instead he choose to view them as the minimum of what can be produced until proven otherwise.
And right now?
The visor was losing its collective shit from how much energy was in the air. It broke every record in the book for ambient energy levels, absolutely dwarfing the Great Rocks full power, and utterly eclipsing the energy levels of the Rayquaza who was guarding it initially. There was seemingly no limit to the energy around him.
And yet he still couldn't see the Rayquaza…
For that matter neither could anyone else. The league members were looking around trying to spot the legendary Pokémon, unable to spot the beast of a dragon. The professor and champion level trainers never let their eyes leave the stoic and still form of the cloaked sage in front of them, muttering to himself in some unknown tongue, one neither of the three present could interpret. They may have been forced to rely on him for now, but they did not trust him. In the end though, the only person to spot the legendary Pokémon was the one no one expected too.
"UP THERE!" Screeched Bonnie, her finger pointed directly behind them all and towards the clouds. Her whole arm was trembling, and she looked scared for her life. Her voice was an octave or two short of a dog whistle shriek.
And when they followed to look at where she pointed, they understood her fear.
Descending below the clouds was a gargantuan, serpentine body. it was enormous beyond belief, utterly baffling most in how something so large could even exist. It was easily 20 feet thick, and the worst part?
It was moving.
The underside of the enormous beast was slowly moving across the sky, more and more of the underside of the beast sinking below the clouds as it did. It got to the point that many of the people present began to question if there were multiple creatures now.
"Behold…"
They all swung around to look at the man who stood between them and destruction, only for them to have to double take as the removal of his grey cloak, revealing his patrons symbol on his broad back and the intense aura of white energy now surrounding him.
"… This is the power of me and my partner when we work together!" he finished, a tower of energy shooting up into the sky, forcing the clouds to dissipate in seconds from the intensity of the energy.
And to reveal the dragon hiding within them.
With an earth-shaking roar, the titanic form of the sky-high dragon was revealed. But, to the puzzlement of those around them who were in the know, it looked completely different from the standard form of the mega-evolved dragon type. It was, obviously, many, many times larger then a normal, reaching the point of being completely unfathomable in it's size. It was still a large, serpentine shaped dragon, but it had its normal two claws multiple times down it's body. it now had a pair of wings on its back, a set of stereotypical dragon wings, but much like the rest of the creature, they were enormous sized.
But it's head was the biggest change. Instead of the vaguely round and smooth head that was a common feature of the Rayquaza line, this one was much more angular, and for lack of a better word 'sharp'. The back of the head held a conical shape now, with several protruding spike on either side making it look like a crown. The face was triangular in shape leading to a far more pointed chin then normal. On the forehead of the creature was seemingly a large gem in a rather beautiful shade of blue.
But the weirdest part was the face.
And the two mouths on it. One on top of the other, the creature looked completely unnatural in its shape and form. It looked as if it wasn't bound by the rules and laws of nature, but by some higher form of power.
"This is the power of the dragon goddess of the sky! Ryu, The SKY DRAGON!" proclaimed Naruto, his arms spread wide as he did.
"Impressive…" uttered Lysander, his eye piece having blown clean off of his head from the ambient power in the air overloading it. But the relatively minor explosion didn't make him incapable of viewing the awe-inspiring sight in front of him.
"This is what stands in your path now, Lysander! Stop this and surrender! There is no need for all of this madness!" Called the sage, his hand extended towards the goal-driven man across from him. He had to offer him one last chance. One last try at saving him, or else he would have no choice but to stop him for good. He was far to dangerous to let go free.
"…Heh." Chortled Lysander, a small forlorn smile on his face, his shoulders sinking ever so lightly.
"Were it ten or even five years ago, I might have listened to you, friend. But its far to late for me." He declared his shoulders squaring back up, a grim frown now on his face. "I have to do this! I have to bring this world to how it should be! Clean, unspoiled by human greed and corruption! People right now are forced by those with more to compete over scraps! Those gym leaders behind you are no different! They all have mega bands don't they?! They all have far more power then most! How many trainers have struggled and failed against them for nothing, all because they don't have a band like they do! Some enjoy the power, and everyone else is forced to beg for scraps! If I have to dirty my hands and wipe out most of human life in order for life to be preserved and valued properly again, where none have to struggle and all can enjoy equally, then so be it. That is what I will do. Even if I'm not around to enjoy it anymore, that's a price I'll gladly pay and do it as many times as I have too!"
As his speech grew more inflamed and impassioned, so to did the looks of understanding and acknowledgement. He wasn't entirely wrong after all, and the realization did more to humble the gym leaders then anyone else. How many people did they defeat after mega-evolving their partners that they would have genuinely lost to if they hadn't? far more then they cared to admit, that was for certain. Steven Stone knew better then most what Lysander was speaking of, after all, his fathers business partners were often those greedy people he was talking about. But his father wasn't like them. He cared about every single person in his companies employ, and even those not in his employ. It was why he often donated entire newly constructed apartment complexes to homeless shelters for them to get their life straightened up and sorted, before they moved on to better pastures. And why he always hired locally and to the single workers before hiring out of region and hiring contractors, it was better for the locals if he did.
"And what of the innocents in your quest? The Pokémon who are wild and free? The innocent people who live in peace and harmony alongside their Pokémon, neither using the other, but working together for a better life? What of them?" Questioned Naruto, a sad smile on his face at Lysanders motives. After all, how could he not be. He was a true sage and a natural empath, the exploitation of the natural world and of the common people performed by mega-corporations who didn't care hurt him more then almost any other. Still, he refused to judge the entire human race by the actions of a few who did not care. More people did care then the few who didn't.
"Pokémon will always be subjugated by humans, their incredible power exploited by those who will use then for vile purposes." Lysander proclaimed, tears in his eyes as he did so. He looked genuinely remorseful as he said the words. Clearly, he didn't want this, but felt there was no other path then the way he had made for himself. "It would be better for them all to be wiped out then forced under the heel of the cruel and greedy who would violate them repeatedly over the course of their lives."
"And as I said, I don't wish to destroy all life. Just enough that there are no more starving children, no more adults or parents who have to go home to their families and tell them they have nothing for them to eat because they don't have any money or work to provide it." he declared, to the shock and horror of the majority of the group. Wiping the tears from his eyes he shouted loudly for all to hear. "I wish there was another way. I truly do. But I've done the math and ran the situation through millions of simulations and tests. The only way forward with a chance of success and life for all in the future, is the path I've made for myself. I will not be deterred!"
As he finished his speech, the stone arms of the great rock rose up and began to wave again. The rock began to glow with a dark purple light, the light making those behind the sage of the deity weary.
"Now please, move aside! If you flee now, there's a chance for all of you to live! To see tomorrows sunrise! Please, don't make me kill more then I have to! I know your good people; you are all capable of remorse and bonds with your partners! You are WORTHY of the new world! Please, LEAVE!" Cried Lysander, his voice breaking halfway through, his emotions damaging him so much he couldn't maintain his composure any further.
"… I see now, Madara. I see what you were speaking of. The despair, the darkness. It's infected this world as well. Seeped into the minds of those who see it for what it truly is. But unlike our world, there was no Hagoromo, no Ashura, no Hashirama, no Me to help save it." Rasped out Naruto, his voice barely above a whisper, yet it was audible to all present.
Right before a lick of golden flames began to cover him from the ground up.
"Then maybe it's time I stop being so passive! And actually try and help again! Stop being a pathetic coward and fight again! To stand by my words and beliefs again!" he shouted out for all to hear. The flames were about halfway up his body now, covering his lower half in brilliant golden energy.
"AND THIS TIME!" He Screamed, the energy rising further forming a golden and black cloak on his back. His patrons golden arch formed behind him, shocking those who recognized what the symbol meant.
"I'LL SAVE EVERYONE! AND I'LL SAVE THIS WORLD, TOO!" The energy coated him completely now, his hair now in two distinct horn like shapes on the front of his head. The energy flowed off him like a burning fire, wisps of energy floating off him and dissipating into the air. As he did, the great dragon above them began to move, leaning forward and drawing in a titanic breath of air, before releasing an earth rending roar above him.
"RYU! LETS DO THIS!"
AND SCENE! I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON THIS FOR 2 MONTHS! THANK GOD I FINALLY GOT IT OUT! FUCK! My writers block on this finally went away after I got yesterdays chapter out, so I decided to go ahead and smash out this one for you. In about 8 hours, too. Not bad if I do say so myself. Anyway, little question for you all. I have been running back old WWE show intro theme songs for a few days. If you watched them, What were your favorites? Mine are 'Across the nation' by the union underground for Raw, and 'Born 2 run' by 7Lions for Smackdown. I couldn't tell you why, I just love them.
Anyway, in other news imma shamelessly plug myself now. I recently started streaming on twitch! My name there is Hadradajust, if you got a twitch account and feel like supporting me, drop a follow and hop into stream every now and then to chill. I mostly play single player survival games and story driven games, due to mediocre internet right now, but I hope to play some multiplayer survival soon if I can get a better I.S.P. thanks for your time!
So, if you liked the story, leave a comment! It always helps me to read some positive reviews and constructive criticisms are always helpful. Any flamers will be used to cook well-done steaks for the hunters of Bherna village, the Soaratorium, Astera, Seliana, Kamura village and Elgado outpost. Keep your stamina up folks!
