When he heard Tobias call out to him, from somewhere up in the air, Tommy noticed that his thought speak sounded more strained than usual. Tobias directed him into hidden alcove where no one was currently close enough to see or overhear anything that might be going on. Anything that he and Tobias might say to each other.

"What's going on?" he asked, as soon as Tobias had landed in a nearby tree,

(Well, I had to acquire one of those dolphin morphs you guys enjoy so much,) Tobias said. (Acquiring it wasn't anything I'd like to repeat, but we managed to find something interesting under the ocean near the city.)

He nodded, wondering what the Yeerks could have been doing, out there under the water, but knowing that he wasn't likely to find out if none of the Animorphs knew yet.

(There were also sharks guarding it; hammerheads, specifically. Fourteen of them,) Tobias continued, sounding more than a little worried about the whole thing; it must have been an awful fight to be in, while it had been going on. (It seems like the Yeerks are using the sharks to guard their base. Visser One was there, too.)

Shuddering as he recalled the previous time he and the rest of the Animorphs had encountered Visser One, Tommy forced himself to calm down again.

(We're going to be headed to Ocean World, to acquire the hammerhead shark they have, so we have at least some kind of a chance at getting past the guard sharks. Jake wants you to come with us, tonight, since we're probably going to need you at the underwater base the Yeerks have set up.)

He nodded, already planning how he would get out of his house without either of his Controller parents finding out that he was missing.

(Anyway, thanks; for still being a part of all this,) Tobias said. (I know it can't be easy, helping when you're so far away.)

Tommy nodded, a slight, amused twist to his lips; fighting two wars on two fronts was hard, and he could only hope that he wouldn't end up having to pick one side over the other, someday.
