The darkness loomed over the women as they searched for the Sonic Screwdriver, Bumble discovering multitudes of things that been stolen by the Daleks on this ship over the course of centuries given the way some of them looked, from species long since extinct from the incursions by the Daleks to those subjected to their rule, all of it served a purpose to Dalek Omega, and only it would know what everything here did.
Bumble couldn't hope to identify everything that was stored here because of how many alien species the Daleks subjected or destroyed since their inception, even stolen from each other, that everything got lost in translation.
However, this didn't stop her from keeping an eye on possible threats, a lot of the items stored held varying levels of radioactivity that risked leaching out into the open at any time.
It's getting difficult for her to use her scanners because some of the radioactivity that's coming off some of the containers.
The more she moved around, Bumble noticed that while the area's littered with radiation signatures that are giving her scanners a workout, that they're slowly being depleted as time went on.
Daleks weren't afraid of radiation poisoning because of their protective chassis and their penchant for troublemaking, even then they wouldn't care if their ship becomes a glow stick to warrant something to stop the radiation from seeping further.
Keeping Taylor close with her as she kept them away from the parts with dangerous levels of radiation, Bumble located the trace coming from the Sonic Screwdriver coming from a crate.
Following her closely as her emerald eyes moved around, Taylor spots objects she couldn't identify laying in an undetermined order.
So many, it began overlapping, and Taylor been traveling with Paul for a few years, now.
"Found you!" Bumble located the metal crate and with her metallic hands forced it open, revealing the stolen Sonic Screwdriver among dozens of other things stolen by the Daleks dumped into the crate for convenience.
Reaching in, Taylor retrieved it, and as she did, she noticed the absence of something else she expected among the objects.
Paul's pocket watch.
"Why wouldn't it here?" Taylor questioned as she tried reaching into the crate before Bumble promptly stopped her, warning her that she's still detecting radiation, and even she doesn't know half the things that were in the crate.
Recoiling, Taylor frowns before Bumble informed her the probability that Paul either hid it well from them or that they didn't think anything of it.
Daleks, being what they are, aren't good judges of characters, as Taylor's aware, and this was proven to be their downfall multiple times.
"All right, we got the Sonic Screwdriver, let's find the boys and give the Daleks a good thrashing," Bumble encouraged Taylor to follow her back to the vent.
With it back in their possession, Bumble's already refocusing her scanners to the pocket watch, since it's Cappy's finest, she had no trouble finding it in the haze of the other objects that showed up on the scanners.
Nodding, Taylor follows her and as they moved back through the way they came, Bumble noticed something off, the radiation levels that were making it hard to see on her scanners has decreased spontaneously that it's almost unheard.
She never saw radiation levels drop this fast, that it's concerning to her, but Taylor pushed her back to the vents as she urged her that they didn't want the Daleks figuring out that they were in their midst.
Returning to the vent, refocused on the pocket watch, Bumble led the way as Taylor kept the Sonic Screwdriver close, helping her as she went through the claustrophobic tube once again as Bumble guided her.
Closing in on the men's locations, they could hear the Daleks shrill voices, angry and chaotic as the creatures speaking, that the tube amplified the shrills.
Grumbling, Bumble found their electronic voices infuriating, asking how Taylor and Paul handled it long as they did, and Taylor responding how she and Paul began tuning them out after a while.
That or potential hearing damage finally set in, it was difficult for her to say, even if Paul could heal his hearing.
Working their way through the tube, the women found another grate that allowed them into a prison block.
The grate was further up from the previous, Bumble jumped down first and caught Taylor with ease before they dropped to the ground.
Slowly moving, Bumble sees the electric fields of the prison cells, the Daleks amplified the shocks to be near fatal if their prisoners attempted escape.
For someone like Bumble it would be akin of getting hit by lighting several times, so this wasn't something she could touch, but Taylor wielded the Sonic Screwdriver as she mustered that even if Bumble can't touch anything on the cells, the Sonic Screwdriver might.
"They mighta have it tampered proof," Bumble warned her.
Agreeing with Bumble's concerns, Taylor musters that it was worth trying.
They're already not great with preventing radiation leaking out, among other things, this could be just another oversight by the Daleks.
Creeping along the ground, the two turned a corner, there they saw Cappy and Paul.
Scanning for threats, Bumble raised a brow as she commented that there doesn't seem to be any Daleks in their vicinity.
Two prime targets and not one Dalek ready to open fire on them if they attempted escape?
More, she noticed Dalek Thorn's absence.
Running up to the prison cells, Taylor attempted to use the Sonic Screwdriver to disable them, but as she tried, it didn't work as it intended, instead the electricity pulsating hummed, but that was about it.
"Good try, o' mum," Paul commented as he barely reached her due to the braces that kept him in his place.
Meekly, Taylor goes, "Well, it was worth a try."
Patting her on the back, Bumble comforted her as she explained how it happens, Daleks are a known quantity, but sometimes often, they have some consistency.
"What have you to report, Bumble?" Cappy asks her.
Bumble proceeded to inform him what she and Taylor found in the storage section and the unusual rapid decline in radiation within a short amount of time they were there.
None of them were affected by the radiation, her scanners righted themselves and gave multiple negatives.
"Radiation cannot deplete that quickly, are they dispersing it?" Cappy inquiries as Bumble used her hand to amplify the effects of the Sonic Screwdriver causing a reaction that stilted the electrical fields long enough for the men to rush out of their prison cells.
Turning focus to their braces, Bumble undid them, and as the men stretched their limbs while rubbing their necks, she informed Cappy that nothing on her scanners indicate the Daleks have a proper way of expelling built-up radiation.
The ship itself did not possess such a thing.
"Daleks are protected by their chassis, as they see it, any radiation leaking out is a weapon against their enemies," Paul gave his thoughts as he's handed back his Sonic Screwdriver before stealing a quick kiss from Taylor before turning his attention to Bumble.
Confused, she asked the whereabouts of Dalek Thorn, and he responded that Dalek Omega sent for it, but it hadn't returned to its cell.
Either it was systematically destroyed, or it destroyed them, it's hard to say, but the fact they're still alive isn't helping.
His cyan eyes moving between them, Cappy decided, "Let's have a look, shall we?"
