The scene opened up at the mansion where both Mythos Hearts and Fatebreakers were gathered up as Aqua played solitaire with Chomosuke swiping at her and with the others speaking with Yunyun.
"So…back at the inn…what did you say?" Amity asked.
"I said….I wanted to have Kazuma's baby…" Yunyun said.
"Wow, moving to third base already? That's quite bold." Yuri said.
"Y'know, I always saw myself having a daughter first." Kazuma said, clearly enjoying this.
"No, absolutely not! I-It has to be a boy!" Yunyun protested.
"Whoa…I took her for the timid type." Emerald said.
"Can we all focus on the important part here?" Ethox asked with a sweatdrop. "Yunyun, why do you want to have a baby with Kazuma? You've only known him for…like two weeks!"
"I-If we don't have a baby…then the Devil King…" Yunyun stuttered
"The Devil King what?" Yuri asked.
"H-He…He's going to destroy the Crimson Demon's village!" Yunyun cried out.
"I get it, it's about saving the village." Kazuma said. "Don't worry, I'm ready and willing to do my part."
"No, you are certainly not, mister!" Legolia yelled.
"Yeah, we gotta get the whole story before you two do something you'll regret later." DJ said. "Lay it on us, Yunyun. The story, I mean."
Yunyun then pulled out two pieces of paper. "My father sent me these." she said, handing them over.
"By the time you receive this letter, I, your father, will be dead? He says the Devil's King's army is attacking the Crimson Demon village. And this page says that a fortuneteller foretold the village's destruction. But a ray of hope in the clan's sole survivor, Yunyun? Wait, sole survivor? I'm still here!" Megumin said.
"Keep reading!" Yunyun urged her rival on.
"In a town of beginnings, she'll meet a man to be her husband, and their child will become the one who will defeat the Devil King. The man is lazy, has no special powers and is otherwise unremarkable." Megumin finished, looking to Kazuma.
"Hey, I'm not lazy!" Kazuma protested. "I go with all you people on your crazy adventures! Wait, is that all it took for you to think I was the guy?!" he asked Yunyun.
"Okay, okay, hold on a second." Grantz said. "Let's not jump to conclusions. Maybe this fortuneteller got it wrong?"
"No no…I totally get it." Kazuma said, calming down. "My kid defeats the Devil King and Yunyun needs my seed. So I say we get right to it." he said.
"Uh…I mean, I guess it all checks out…" Ethox said waringly. "As long as you really take responsibility, I guess we-"
"Legend of the Crimson Demons, Chapter One." Megumin said, reading the bottom of the paper. "Written by…Arue." she finished.
Yunyun screamed as she grabbed the paper and crumpled it up.
"What's happening? Are we still boning? Are we doing it here?" Kazuma asked as he removed his pants.
"Arue is one of our classmates and she wants to be a writer someday." Megumin explained.
"Oh! Then it was just a draft!" Viktoriya realized. "She must've sent it along to get feedback!"
"Arue, you dummy!" Yunyun cried as she knelt on the floor.
"So it was all fake?" Theo asked.
"The first part's true. The Crimson Demon's have been a thorn in the Devil King's side for a long time now." Megumin said.
"Come on, Yunyun. Can we please get started with our love affair?" Kazuma asked, almost begging.
"It's not happening, dude. And for all our sakes, put some pants on." Shez said.
"Wait, so the Crimson Demons really are under attack?" Rosalie asked. "Then we should go and help them!"
"Oh my gosh, she's right!" Yunyun said, standing back up. "Everyone's in danger! What should we do?"
"Go and help them, of course." Otto spoke up. "We can be ready to leave in an hour or two."
"I dunno. I doubt our village will fall. There's a reason the Devil King fears the Crimson Demons." Megumin said.
"Perhaps, but…if Zenos would offer aid to one of the Devil King's generals, he might do the same for another." Mirror Match said. "I say we go, just to make sure things are alright."
"Yeah, good call." Ethox agreed. "Besides, after our first meeting with Yunyun, I've been interested in what your village is like, Meg. I'd like to learn more about it."
"Well…I guess I could show you guys around…" Megumin said, looking away.
"...You're homesick, aren't you?"
"N-No! I'm…just…a little homesick." the arch wizard admitted.
"Well, that'll be fixed soon." Tanya said. "Let's have Wiz teleport us there. It'll cut down on our ETA."
And so, after a visit to Wiz's shop, a meeting with Vanir (who mentioned seeking a craftsman to build items from Japan), and a quick teleport, the group found themselves near the Crimson Demon Village in the early morning.
A shame it was that Wiz forgot to mention what was close to the village…
"What is wrong with this place?!" Kazuma yelled as he and the other male members ran from an army of female orcs, those with ranged options shooting back at them, though this did little to discourage their pursuers.
"While I am flattered, I am taken, unfortunately!" Yuri said.
"I'm gonna drown that stupid lich in holy water!" Garfiel yelled.
"Why are these ladies chasing us?!" Ethox asked.
"All the male orcs died out ages ago!" Megumin yelled back as the female members chased after the horde. "The females capture males of other races, drag them back to their lair, and furiously mate with them! They're the natural predator of human men!"
"I'm too young to be deflowered! I'm only four years old!" Ethox wailed as the group ran. "Save us!"
"I wanna go home!" Kazuma yelled as he sobbed in terror.
It was then that Kazuma felt himself being pushed forward, turning around to see Otto standing there.
"Run, Mr. Sato, run!" Otto yelled, before he was tackled from behind by one of the female orcs, some of the group crowding around him while the rest continued to chase the group.
"OTTO!" the other group members yelled in a panic.
"Listen, you don't want me. I don't make a good partner!" Otto begged.
"Just lie back and close your eyes, it'll be over before you know it!" the female orc said greedily as Otto tried with all his might to break free, the numbers proving to be too much.
"Megumin, Tanya, anybody, do something!" Luz said as the females tried to attack the horde, but the female orcs, driven by unstoppable lust, were shrugging off their attempts.
"We can't, Otto will get caught in the blast!" Tanya said.
"That's enough!" a voice echoed as the female orcs stopped as they looked at a large and imposing figure standing on a hill before sun showed it to be Geld.
"A male orc?" Rosalie asked.
"Geld…he's another member of the guild." Luz said. "Chief of Infrastructure."
"Oh… another male!" one of the females said.
"Female Orcs…I understand your plight. I can promise you more males than you can manage…only if you let those men go." Geld said.
The female orcs looked at one another before they let go of Otto and ran to where a number of male orcs were as they were led off.
"You…are a true hero." Otto said weakly.
"You were lucky I came here on business." Geld said. "Theo, I've come with an update on the operation. We're entering the final stages."
"Excellent. But…what will you do with these females?" Theo asked.
"We'll take them back to Tempest to try and get some sense into them." Geld said.
"...You're gonna need a lot of Viagra." Kazuma said, still shuddering.
"If you want, I could see if a couple of them could…" Geld started.
"Not necessary!" Kazuma and Otto said quickly before hugging each other.
"Female orcs are scary, Mr. Sato." Otto said.
"I agree, Otto. I agree." Kazuma said as both cried.
"I'm….I'm gonna go now." Geld said a bit weirded out by the two as he turned and headed off with the other orcs.
"So…that happened." DJ said as the group had taken a moment to rest, Kazuma and Otto still traumatized by the event.
"There, there, it's okay now…" Aqua said soothingly. "You two are alright."
"Well, now that's behind us, we need to talk about important matters." Tanya said. "Scouting out the enemies attacking the Crimson Demon Village."
"Scouting? We don't need to do that." Rosalie said. "Let's head straight to the village and wipe out the demon army attacking it! Simple!"
"Yeah…no. Our army busters aren't here, and with these two," Tanya said, gesturing to Kazuma and Otto, "The way they are now, they'll be dead weight. We need to know exactly what we're going up against."
"I'll go." Legolia said. "I can make a quick getaway if I'm spotted. I'll be right back." she said, hopping up into the trees and towards the village.
"Alright, what about Kazuma and Otto?" Ethox asked.
"I have an idea for Kazuma at least." Megumin said, standing up. "Oh Kazuma. Did you know that every Crimson Demon is born with a tattoo? Would you like to know where Yunyun's is?"
"What?!" Yunyun sputtered. "Don't you dare, Megumin!"
"Where is it?!" Kazuma asked, out of his funk.
"...That shouldn't have worked." Ultra deadpanned.
"How do you even know about that? I oughta teach you some manners." Yunyun said.
"Aqua, support magic. She needs to learn some manners herself." Megumin said, getting in a stance.
"Humans here…" a voice called out.
"I thought I heard some humans here…" another said.
"Shh! We have company…" Ultra shushed the group, peaking out of the bushes to see a group of horned goblins looking around. "Goblins. A group of them. About…five."
"Then there's more nearby." Goblin Slayer said. "We'll take them by surprise. On three."
"One….two…." Theo said.
"I wanna know where Yunyun's tattoo is!" Kazuma cried out.
"Hey, I found them in the bushes!" one of the goblins said.
"Damn it, Kazuma! Whatever. Three!" Theo said.
The group leapt out of the bush, Goblin Slayer getting the first strike in by slashing a large goblin across the stomach. "One!"
"Kneel!" Yuri said, impaling another in the chest.
"Yeah…we got 'em on the…" Garfiel said before they all saw a magic circle appearing as Megumin was focused. "Oh crap."
"Wait, you can't just…!" Theo said.
"Explosion!" Megumin said blowing up the forest they were sheltered in. "See? Explosion is the ultimate magic. So majestic and apocalyptic. What kind of score would you give that?"
"-90, you jackass!" Shez said. "You blew us up along with the forest!"
"Did you and Kazuma lose some of your INT points?!" DJ yelled.
"Well, at least that got all the-" Ethox started before he saw more goblins approaching. "Oh. Nevermind."
"Hahaha! You stupid humans…we's gonna chop ya up and…" one of the survivors said before the army went and trampled them.
"Huh…wonder what that is all about?" Theo said before four figures appeared before the fleeing monsters and started attacking them with magic. "And who are…"
"Check out the eyes…" Cobalt said as the 4 mages eyes were a crimson red. "They must be Crimson Demons too."
"I leave for five minutes, and you manage to blow up the forest." Legolia said as she walked up to them. "Honestly, Megumin, how did you survive before joining this team?"
"We just met this elf when we heard the explosion and came as fast as we could." one of the Crimson Demons said. "Megumin, Yunyun, what are you two doing here?"
"We heard the village was in danger." Megumin answered.
The four Crimson Demons tilted their heads in confusion, the group doing the same.
"Wait, all these people…is this the guild you're a part of, Megumin?" the same Crimson Demon asked, Megumin nodding in the affirmative.
"Yes." Megumin said with a soft smile.
"Hi. I'm Kazuma Sato…and I use a bunch of weird skills to beat the Devil King's generals." Kazuma said as he randomly posed.
"Whoa…and he introduced himself properly. Megumin, your friends are alright!" the same Crimson Demon said.
Megumin blushed and looked away at that.
"Our village is just a ways away. Allow us to take you." the Crimson Demon said as he used Teleport, warping the group away.
And so, the journey to the Crimson Demon Village was complete. Little did the group know that this trek would be nothing compared to what they would face soon…
