Epilogue: Reunion and a New Beginning
A week and 6 days later…
Everyone gathered on the beach to say farewell to Jake and his crew because tomorrow is their start of the Protectors training. Everyone is feeling very melancholy upon hearing about the event. Most people out of the group feel proud due to the fact that they saved everyone, while Captain Colossus and Peter feel upset because their "kids" are now ready to leave the place that they call "home." However, they all know that the crew have a new mission at hand: stopping the Legion from reviving Vor. When the crew got there, everyone else was waiting for them.
"Hey, guys." everyone else said. "Since you guys are leaving tomorrow, we decided to give you guys a farewell party to celebrate your achievements. We also needed to discuss how to deal with the Legion when they come back, since they are way too dangerously insane this time around. They needed some proper discipline and treatment this time around, but you guys know that already."
"Yeah, and thanks." the crew replied. "We think that the Legion will most likely be wanting revenge against us. However, since we're part of the Protectors now, we don't think that they will directly mess with us, at least for the time being. Instead, we think that they are going to recruit some enemies of the Protectors to create a bigger group of villains."
Everyone else nodded in understanding. They all know that the Legion has become a part of a more dangerous situation due to the possible revival of another villain that could cause havoc everywhere. Ever since the crew revealed that they are now part of the Protectors, everyone felt much more relieved. However, they are still perturbed about the situation and that the Legion is getting more people to join them in fighting against the Protectors.
"Speaking of the party, me and the Ghost Pirate have a surprise for your crewmates, son." Captain Colossus said as he came over. "Since your crewmates never actually met their parents, we decided to allow your crewmates to meet them. After discussing it with Peter and the Ghost Pirate, we feel that it's just right to make your crew members meet their biological parents. Since we saw each other even before all of this happened, and that it felt right to make their parents feel proud of them."
"That's true, dad." Jake said with a knowing look. "Since we only had the knowledge of our past. However, we don't exactly know how they would react to our achievements with everything. So, it makes perfect sense to let them know what happened over the years with us. This way, we can rest at peace with everyone, including you guys."
Then Jake called the other crew members to come and join him. After that Jake and Captain Colossus told them about the surprise and the reason for it. When the other crew members heard the surprise for them, they felt extremely happy and excited about the surprise.
"Eeeek." Cubby said squealing in excitement. "This is the best day ever! Thanks guys for allowing us to meet our biological family. Besides, I don't think we have met our parents, at least not officially. I also think that our parents would be able to explain some things that we don't know about them. I bet that after this 'reunion,' our parents would be really proud and happy for us because of what we did."
"Definitely." Skully said with a concerning look. "I also think that our parents will have to adjust to the fact that we are now not here sometimes as our duty is now to stop the Legion from reviving Vor. It'll definitely be a concern to them because of how dangerous it is; they'll be in danger too if Vor successfully did revive herself. Ever since the tree told us that we are ready for the new missions, I have been getting a big feeling about the missions being a lot more difficult than before. But we can and will do this because the villains have to be 'under control,' or else it could be extremely dangerous to everyone."
"Yep. It's an extremely dangerous and difficult situation." Izzy replied with a serious look. "But for the safety of everyone in the Realm and the real world, we have to stop it no matter how big the costs are. Tomorrow the training officially starts, there's no going back after today. It must be done to ensure that everyone has a good future."
"That's correct. It's a very important situation." Captain Colossus said. "Anyways, are you guys ready for the meeting with your parents? By the way, your parents know that you guys' pasts already due to their memory being recovered when they became spirits. So, you guys don't have to worry about explaining what happened to them."
When Izzy, Cubby, and Skully heard this, they sighed in relief. It's because the crew don't have to remind their parents that they are their descendants. When the crew along with Captain Colossus got to the spot, the Ghost Pirate was waiting for them with a special portal open. The Ghost Pirate then told them to wait a couple of minutes for him to get their parents out of the portal. When he came back with 3 other ghosts, Izzy, Cubby, and Skully slightly began to sob. When Jake and Captain Colossus saw this, they knew that the other crew members were going through an emotional moment.
"Mom/Dad!" Izzy, Cubby, and Skully tearfully said in unison, following with a hug. "I missed you! How are you doing? It's been quite an adventure since you guys were gone. We went through so many adventures together. To be honest, we only heard of your legends before. Before we learned the truth, we never thought we would be able to meet you guys. But now, we know that it was our destinies that brought us together.''
"We missed you guys too. It's been a long while since we came back to the real world." the three spirits said with a smile after hugging the crew members. "It looks like Peter took good care of you guys. We remembered that no one was supposed to remember your pasts until it's the right time. We guess that when the legion reconvened, you guys had to protect everyone from the danger of the legion. By the way, we've been watching over you guys from the spirit world this whole time, and that we couldn't be prouder of your achievements as your parents."
The crew then went into telling the spirits of their parents about their past adventures. The crew first went into how Peter trained them to get them ready to 'take over' Peter's role back when he was gone. Followed by how they found their tools and gained their current roles. After that, the crew told them their adventures over the past five years. Then finally, the crew summarized the recent couple of months in fulfilling the prophecy.
"Woah! So, a prophecy about the legion and you guys decided to reveal your origins ahead of time?! I guess it means that the legion was extremely dangerous, and that it needed to be taken seriously by everyone." Queen Isabella stated in astonishment, followed with a proud look. "Also daughter, I'm really impressed by the fact that you managed to find my lost sword and completed my never completed quest."
"Yep, that's basically what happened." Izzy said with a knowing look. "And now that I think about it, I guess that the unfinished quest that you left me mom, was a clue about the prophecy and the truth about the past. I had thought about the connections between the two events when the prophecy came true, but I guess both events were bound to happen no matter which event came first. We also noticed that some of the adventures that we had were hints about the prophecy and the truth about our pasts. Right, guys?"
"Yeah. For me, it was a couple of events that had given me hints." Jake said with a wink. "Primarily, the event that happened two years ago had given me the most hints. It was an event no one had ever expected: Lord Fathom came back with intentions to take over everything, we tried to stop it but failed. Then something 'crazy' happened, which caused me to become captain in the first place. To be honest, I had no idea what was going on at the time of the event. Everything just happened in a blur. It was only when everyone else explained to me what happened, then I realized exactly what happened to myself. That was no doubt one of the most dangerous situations we've ever been in. But now that everything about the past is revealed, I understand that the situation was a hint of the truth about the past."
"Yeah, that was an extremely dangerous situation alright. It was a sudden surprise for everyone, even ourselves. But if you haven't defeated Lord Fathom, we wouldn't be here to tell the tale at all." Skully said with an understanding look. "For my case, it's when I was hatched that everything came together. When I was hatched my eggshell pieces became a telescope for me and my team to use. On it were a couple of sentences about our future; at first we didn't understand what the words meant. But now that I look at it, the sentences mean that everything was meant to be: it also shows that our fate is connected to each other in a special way."
"Yep. Also son, I am extremely pleased that you managed to recover my map from the trials that I set up. All the legendary items that you guys recovered and all of the legendary events that you guys have been through connect to our legends. Everything happens to make your destinies come true. Even though we are no longer around, we will continue to watch over everything that you guys are doing." Chris the Great Explorer said with an extremely proud look. "Anyways, what's the plan for the future now that the legion is defeated?"
"Well, that isn't exactly what happened." the crew stated. "The legion isn't exactly defeated, more like temporarily blocked in. As a matter of fact, a much darker plot is now in store, and we now have an important role that can deal with it. The area that we're in right now is actually a part of a bigger world named the Ever Realm, which has many kingdoms and areas. Here's the bigger plot that the legion is planning: the Legion is planning to revive an evil spirit named Vor. The spirit was destroyed by a Protector of the Ever Realm named Princess Sofia. However, the spirit has a backup plan that involves an item that has fused with the legion and others' items, which means that the legion is working for her now. The spirit wants to take over everywhere, including where Wendy and her family live. In order for us to stop the legion, we need to go to the Ever Realm and get the rest of the items and try to keep them away from the legion. Therefore, we won't be here sometimes due to Protectors training and other activities. These items on our wrists are an identifier for our new roles as Protectors."
The spirits gasped in shock at the fourth sentence. They couldn't believe that the area is actually a part of a bigger world. They started to look concerned about the crew when they told them that the legion wasn't exactly defeated. However, when the spirits heard that the crew wouldn't be here full time due to their new mission as Protectors, they immediately reacted with solemn and distressed looks.
"So, wait. You guys are now partially not here sometimes due to stopping the legion in a different area?! It looks like that you guys will have to carry all of our hopes of defeating the legion once and for all, besides it seems like that the legion is bothering a lot of people who want peace in the future." Scott the parrot captain said. "I have a feeling that in the future there will be a lot more people moving between the outside world and here."
When the crew heard this, they began to realize that the sudden expansion of the world has a lot more impact than they originally expected. Because of the new and updated situation in the world, some of their friends are thinking about moving to the lands beyond as new explorers. Once the crew realized that their friends might want to move out of Neverland to explore the new world, the crew began to thoroughly think about eliminating areas that aren't safe enough for their friends.
"Hmm, so far we think that only the area Peter has explored is safe enough for everyone else to explore. We still aren't sure that everywhere else is safe enough for everyone else to enter." the crew stated. "We still don't think that moving to the outside of the mainland is safe enough for everyone to leave the mainland. It's just too dangerous for the time being and that they could get discriminated against by the outsiders."
When the spirits heard this, they began to realize that the outside world wasn't ready for their presence yet. They then quickly told the crew that they agree with them. After discussing the future plans (about how to explain the outside world and how did the spirits come back), the spirits and the crew rejoined the others. When they rejoined the others, everyone else was surprised by the fact that the spirits came back. [Insert montage of everyone meeting the spirits. Following with a montage of everyone giving gifts to the crew as goodbye presents.] After that, the crew and the spirits went back to their mansion-like headquarters. For the rest of daylight hours, the crew showed the spirits their home and got ready for the Protectors training.
Later in the day, as the sun goes down…
The crew is standing on their mansion-like headquarter's balcony. They are watching the sunset together for their future selves. They are all ready for tomorrow morning and leaving to start their new missions as Protectors of Ever Realm.
"Wow! It has been quite a busy couple of months for us." Cubby said. "I still can't believe that we were the chosen ones to the prophecy. I am also still surprised about the fact that we get to know our pasts and how it impacted us. I do believe that we can and will defeat the legion of villains with the help of the Protectors and everyone else. I believe in our abilities to do so."
"I know right. It's been quite an 'adventure' for everyone to take in." Izzy replied. "Speaking of our origins, we now understand that everything happens for a reason. All of our friends are still shocked at the fact that we are legendary pirates' descendants. A new world is now waiting for us to explore. No matter what the dangers might be, I believe that we will be able to defend our friends, family, and Neverland itself from the legion."
"I know right. It's been quite an adventure for us since the very beginning." Jake said with full confidence. "In the beginning, we knew nothing about ourselves. For example, we originally felt hopeless when we lost Bucky to Captain Hook. To be honest, when I first became captain, I was super nervous. But now that everything is revealed, I feel a lot more confident. Thanks to the prophecy, we are now one of the most prominent teams in the area. All because of our destinies and our past as legendary descendants."
The crew smiled as they watched the sunset as they stood together. For them, tomorrow will be a new day, and a new beginning. Their future is no longer a mystery, thanks to an accidental discovery. Not because of who they were, but because of their destinies and their past. For that they are now "protectors of their world" and that they won't give in to the "darkness of their new world."
