Not all Fairy Tales were told, some stories were lost in time and when this happened the guardian knew he had failed.
"You know, it's been six months since I've had any decent food, I figured when my best friend came back I'd get at least a croissant."
Rashid said coming close to Cedric who was flying off the handle in his anguish
"And who told you I ate anything in those months?"
"You're the guardian, I bet you've been eating risotto all week."
"Yeah, you're right. But, I lived in a lock up house."
"Really? That's your complaint?"
"I'm proud, you're not the selfish rat from Wonderland anymore."
He said, knowing well his personality that he had acquired over the years.
"Selfish? Do I really think I'm evolving?"
Morally evolving means going back to living with Mad Hatter and his crazy family.
"I told you you'd be important."
"For a guy who hates fairy tales I did okay, didn't I?"
"You've helped Mal a lot, Rash, she'd never know about the past without you."
"She's a special girl, I hope the world gets to know her."
It took him a while, but he recognized that Maleficent's daughter was a great heroine.
"He will, as will her magic teacher."
"Congratulations guardian, your story is almost at the happily ever after."
They smiled grateful that the ending was on its way.

"It was easier when we only had the Book to worry about."
Ben said hugging his girlfriend.
"Yeah, I miss worrying about you in my dreams."
She confessed kissing him.
"Nothing bad is going to happen to us." He kissed her cheek, who hugged him tightly. "Nothing can destroy us, remember?"
" Beast Junior, could I have a word with my daughter?" Hades appeared and before the frightened look, Ben left. "Of all the hundreds of years I've lived, the best were the last seventeen, you know?"
"Why can you stay away from your brothers?"
She Ironized.
"Because I knew you. Mal, I always prided myself on being a god and thought I was superior to everyone, because you know, I had a kingdom named after me. But, living in that place was horrible." "There was no one, Zeus got all the glory and love, while I lived in the midst of the dead. There was no life and when I thought I had earned the least love, I was betrayed."
"And leaving there and coming to the Island was better?"
Looking at it that way, his father also had a difficult past.
"The best thing that happened to me. Maleficent wasn't my great love, but she gave me a good laugh and most of all, she gave me you. Mal, I don't know what your choice will be, but I trust you and fate."
"Fate? Why trust it?"
Since her conversation with Cedric, she has come to hate everyone involved who has written her life.
"I need to trust that it will bring you back to me. I'll always be there for you." He warned, placing the necklace with the ember around her neck. "See you, okay?"
"When the sun's glare crack."
"it's time to come back..."
They hugged each other and held each other in this embrace so that both would not see their faces wet.

Mal before leaving looked at her friends and hugged them once more.
"Because we're rotten."
"To the core."
"Hey, come back to us, we need a leader."
Carlos warned.
" Yeah."
"Come back, I never had a best friend and now that I do I don't want to lose."
Evie confessed not wanting her to go.
"I'm your best friend?" She looked at the blue haired girl. "You're mine too E." She wished she had said this earlier.
"What do you say we have a race to Ursula's house? I bet I beat you."
Jay didn't want to say goodbye. Mal is his leader, his sister, a fundamental part of his life.
"You can try."
His family. He was his family when he didn't know what this meant.
"I'm hating this weather."
Rashid confessed wiping his eyes.
"Are you guys ready? There's a whole host of villains out there."
Hades asked his daughter's friends.
"We're their kids, we know how to deal."
Evie warned.
"So here we go."
(...)
Rashid hugged Mal and Ben and the two disappeared like dust. When they opened their eyes again seconds later, they recognized right where they were.
"The Enchanted Lake?"
Ben asked surprised to be in his favorite place.
"Ruins of Greece, I told you." Mal spoke of the conversation they had during their first meeting. "What do we do now?"
"I get your Ember." Rashid reached for the necklace. "And this little find I picked up at the museum."
"Is that my parents' enchanted rose?"
Ben recognized the shiny object.
"Yes."
Quickly Rashid wrapped the rose in the ember and tossed it into the lake.
"What did you do?"
Mal asked pushing Rashid away.
"It's up to you guys now. Good luck."
Mal and Benjamin had several questions, but none of them were answered in time. They watched the water in the lake change its color and the ruins break apart. The arches broke.
"Ben!"
She called out to him when she saw the place where they were standing break. The breaking of the rock caused them to separate. She tried to get close, but she couldn't swim, and when Ben tried to jump, he was pulled into the water by the whirlpool.
"Mal!"
He shouted, yet the more he struggled in the water the deeper he went.
"Ben!"
She despaired when she didn't see him anymore, so without much thought she jumped into the lake.

Hades' plan was simple, protect Mal and her boyfriend from any attacks from the ex-wife.
"Wait." Hades was about to disappear along with Rashid, who went back to help everyone, but the two stopped when they saw Fairy Godmother. "We want to help."
"Sorry, but help with what?"
"You're going to defeat Maleficent, aren't you?"
Fairy asked.
"Let's just say yes."
Rashid spoke up.
"We will help. Open a breach in the barrier and we'll get out."
"I can do that."
Rashid said and felt that the present islanders hated him. He could have let them go a long time ago.
"Now, let's go."

Ben looked from side to side as he worried about breathing and staying alive. Of the thousands of times he had swum, he had never seen anything like it. The lake was not as deep and its color was different. It changed from a deep blue to a light green, not like the clear water it was before.
I know you, I walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
He heard the melody and when he turned around looking to see where it was coming from he saw several scenes from his recent past with Mal. Strange things had become normal, so he wouldn't say it was so very freaky to see scenes from his life played out in front of him, while he was probably drowning.
"You know what really troubles me? Feeling that way about you and not being able to do anything about it."
"What do you mean?"
"You send a shiver down my spine and every time I look at you it feels like I'm caught in your eyes. I've thought about you every day since that dream.
Although, it was beautiful to see these memories reflected in the water in small glimpses, his attention went to a moment he could not remember. He touched the water at the same time he touched the memory.
"Why are you showing me this? Do you want to make me worse? More miserable?"
Mal yelled at Cedric.
"No Mal, I don't ever want to hurt you. I want to help you."
"Unless you change the weather or have a potion to defeat my mother you can't help me.
"Mal, you're doing this out of love."
"Great love." Ironized wiping his eyes. "I don't want to talk about it anymore Cedric, tomorrow I'm going to take those arrows and change my whole life."
"Change my whole life" That phrase echoed in Ben's head. What did Mal mean by that?
(...)
"I didn't realize there were so many witches living in Auradon."
Jay complained pulling out his sword.
"Neither did I." Evie fearfully agreed. "But, if it helps, none of them are Maleficent or my mother."
"That doesn't help at all."
"Shall we go then?"
Hades called to the children.
(...)
Mal was sure she would never go into the lake. The sensation of the water entering his nose was horrible and when he finally resurfaced all she wanted, apart from getting some air, was to see Ben.
"Ben!" She called out to him, but all she got was his voice echoing through a place that was certainly not Auradon. "Is there someone here?"
"Wow, you're a lot more beautiful than I thought."
A woman said and Mal immediately reached for his pocket knife in vain.
"Who are you?"
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
"Why do I feel like I know you?"
"My name is One of Legends, but I like it just as well, Nanny."
When she heard her name, the girl's heart raced and it was as if the only thing she could see was her.
"You're... you're... you're..."
She tried to speak, but her emotion wouldn't allow it.
"I guess I am. Nice to meet you Mal."
The gentle smile, while frightening, also seemed familiar.
"I can...I can."
Knowing what he wanted, she opened her arms and waited for the tight embrace.
"How I've waited for this."
She confessed tearfully.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were dead."
"I've managed to get a gap in time. I'll sort it out later with Moros."
The lady was enchanted by her granddaughter and could not stop admiring her.
"Where are we?"
"Fairyland, what's left of it, actually."
Looking around she observed how her mother had destroyed the place.
"Why am I here? Where's Ben?"
"He's fine. I came here because, Mal what you're about to do, is very noble."
"How do you know?"
"How do I know what? Of the arrows, or that you're going to join the three locks and go back twenty years in time to stop Cirse from releasing the prophecy?"
Nanny spoke what even she hadn't said out loud until then. That was what Mal would do when he gathered the three arrows. She would return at the moment the Enchantress cast the prophecy that bound her to Ben. If she disappeared, there would be no prophecy or story for the book to tell.
"It's the only way."
She said knowing she had already thought of several hypotheses.
"I'm not questioning that. What you are going to do is a great sacrifice."
"And as a goodbye present you came to see me?"
"No, my sweet, when I line up the three arrows everything will change. I must be quick." He looked at the watch on his wrist. "Here." A flame of fire rose from the ground.
"What is that?"
She asked startled by the spell.
"Your magic. Use it when needed." She warned. "It's time to say goodbye."
"No, wait." She held up her dress. "It won't, please."
"We'll still meet, I promise."
Mal watched her grandmother disappear before her eyes.
"Will you erase us?"
Ben's nervous voice snapped her out of her thoughts.
"What?"
Totally lost between what happened and what was happening. One second she was with her grandmother and the next back on the surface and at Ben's side.
"Tell me Mal, what is this idea? Why do you want to forget us?"
Ben shouted wanting her attention.
"The arrow, where is it? Nanny, she didn't give me anything."
"Are you talking about this damn thing here?" He wanted to throw the object back into the lake. "It's all yours." He handed it over and walked out of the ruins.
"Ben!" Mal called out wanting him to calm down. "Ben! Damn it Benjamin!" Using his magic, he created an invisible wall that stopped him from going."Can you hear me?"
"You made a decision that involves us without asking what I think, what can we talk about?"
"How did you know?"
She took a deep breath. No one was ever supposed to know what he was going to do.
"Are you talking about your grandmother? No, I can't explain it, when I was underwater I saw things from our past and I saw you talking to Cedric."
"Well, I don't have a choice."
"You love that phrase, right? Do you have any idea what you're going to do? Have you thought about me? Did you even think about how I would feel?"
"What about me? Do you think I'm okay with that?"
It wasn't a good time for a fight, but that was the least important thing.
"Apparently yes!"
"You don't know how hard it's been for me Ben, do you think I don't think about you? I keep thinking about all the things I'm going to lose, my friends, my dad and you, you stupid prince. Do you really think I want to lose you?" She asked coming close to him and leaning her forehead against his. "How can you think I'm okay?"
"I don't want to forget you." He hugged her tightly. "I don't want to live without you, Mal."
"Everything will start again, maybe we'll meet."
She held back her sobbing when she saw his tears.
"Was that supposed to encourage me?"
"You'll only close your eyes and when you open them again." She couldn't finish the sentence. "You'll be fine."
"Wherever it is, I will find you. No matter where I go, my place will always be by your side."
Ben said and Mal remembered what Cedric showed.
"What a lovely scene."
