As soon as Mom's husband had come back to the house, Hayato had turned on all of his cameras, watching as the man came back inside. There was a strange bundle behind him, one that actually seemed to be floating, and as Hayato continued to watch, Mom's husband took the bundle into the room he shared with her. When the man made his way into their shared closet, Hayato had the feeling that the bed in the attic wasn't going to be empty for much longer.
Sighing, Hayato decided that he was going to have to check in on whoever it was, just to make sure that they knew they weren't alone; whoever they were, they probably weren't happy to be stuck in a musty old attic.
Still, he'd have to wait until Mom's husband left for the day, and probably Mom too, since she would probably tell him where Hayato had been if she saw him looking around up there. He'd have to wait until school came around tomorrow, since Mom wouldn't expect him to be at home and he could move around if he was careful about things. So, shutting down the video screen he'd been watching, Hayato left to go have dinner with Mom and her husband.
There still might be something he could find out there.

Having Tenmei taken from him again, after he'd had his son back for what felt like only a handful of hours, made Noriaki less depressed and more angry, considering everything that had happened. Jotaro was furious, of course, which ended up drawing Mr. Brando's old friend Enrico Pucci into long conversations where he made at least some effort to try to calm Jotaro down.
Still, with all Mr. Pucci's talk about God, fate, gravity, and how the world was meant to work out, those usually only succeeded in riling Jotaro up.
Noriaki had been forced to intervene a couple times, to keep Jotaro from punching Mr. Pucci in the face, or at least from yelling at him the way he probably would have otherwise. A stranger part of dealing with Mr. Pucci was his Stand, Whitesnake, who seemed to have a mind of his own. The Stand even had a voice, and not just Mr. Pucci speaking through his Stand.
Though Whitesnake's voice did sound more than a bit like Mr. Pucci's.
Whitesnake didn't seem to agree with everything Mr. Pucci did, if the way he'd covered Mr. Pucci's mouth when he'd seen that Jotaro had been getting annoyed, which was more than a little strange to think about. It also said something about Mr. Pucci's mental state, that he had a Stand able to disagree with him. It was still a strange thing, meeting someone like that.
He wondered if that was one of the things that had drawn Mr. Brando's attention, since Jotaro's uncle – the one who wasn't younger than him, at least, which was still strange when he thought about it – was a fairly eccentric person.
Still, at least all of that had served to distract him from the thought that Tenmei was missing again, and that he seemed to have been taken by the same person that had kidnapped him the last time. Someone with the last name "Kira"; someone who seemed to think that he could form a family of his own by force, if what Mr. Avdol had found out from his tarot reading was any indication. He was starting to agree with Jotaro: they should have tried to hunt the man down when they found that he wasn't in the house the pair of them had broken into.
That was why he and Jotaro planned to go back to the Kira household: to search through the house, and see if there was anything that would lead them to wherever it was that Kira was hiding.
After making sure that Josuke knew where they were going to be going and what they were going to be doing, he and Jotaro left for the district where Kira's house had been located. Noriaki could only hope that they would be able to find something that would help lead them to wherever it was that Kira had run to when he and Jotaro had gone into the empty shell of a house they'd left behind when they rescued Tenmei from him. Though he'd only expected to need to do it once.
Still, maybe the fact that neither of them had encountered Kira in his house when they'd broken in to rescue Tenmei should have served as a warning: since the man himself had managed to escape him, there was always the chance that he would attack their family again.

Making his way up into the attic where his cute little Yoshiko-chan was waiting for him, once the woman he was living with and her child had gone to sleep, Yoshikage smiled. He'd managed to find a new girlfriend, one who enjoyed having a cute little sister of her own, and now his family was whole and happy once more. Leaning down over Yoshiko-chan's sleeping face, he turned on the small light he'd set up by the side of her bed, spilling soft light over her slumbering form and letting him see the soft rise and fall of her chest as she breathed. He'd given her her half-pill before she'd gone to sleep, so she'd have a peaceful night while he and the rest of the family he'd moved in with slept for the night.
She was so cute, and as he leaned down to take her tiny, perfect hands, tucking his new girlfriend neatly between them, Yoshikage hummed softly in pleasure. It was nice not to have any troubles with people who didn't understand him, but lately he'd been noticing that the child he'd been living with seemed to be unsettled by his presence. It was troublesome, but it seemed that his troubles weren't entirely over.
He'd have to find out just what it was that the child knew about him; just what it was that the boy had spotted that had unsettled him. Still, for the moment Yoshikage could afford to rest, he could afford to refresh himself while he searched for whatever it was that had made the boy suspicious about who he was. Searched for whatever mistake he'd made that had drawn the child's attention.
Still, right now, in this hidden room with his new girlfriend and his cute little Yoshiko-chan, Yoshikage Kira was happy.

The next morning, Hayato couldn't help but notice the way that Mom's husband seemed to be watching him more closely than he ever had been before. It wasn't a good thing, since he was going to try to stay home so that he could find out just what that bundle was that Mom's husband had brought up into the attic to hide. It also wasn't good, since it looked like the man was going to be paying even more attention to him than Hayato ever would have wanted.
"Hayato-kun, I'll be driving you to school today," Mom's husband said, looking directly at him with a cold gaze that Hayato had to force himself not to shudder under.
"That's so kind of you, dear," Mom said, that same, oblivious smile on her face that he'd seen more and more often, lately.
"Yeah, thanks," he said, as Mom turned a reproachful look on him and her husband turned those eerie, cold eyes in his direction.
School passed in a haze, almost as though he was on some kind of auto-pilot or something, and when he made his way back to the house where he lived with Mom and her husband, Hayato tried as hard as he could to stay out of sight of Mom and her husband. He still needed to find out just what was going on with the bundle in the attic, and he wasn't going to be able to do it while Mom and her husband were both at home. However, as he made his way down the hall to his room, Hayato caught sight of the door to the bath room.
It was mostly closed, but when Hayato made his way over to it to peek inside, he saw someone he didn't recognize at all.
Whoever they were, it looked like they were trying to climb their way up and out of the bath, and when Hayato made his way into the room he found himself faced with a long-haired kid who looked a bit older than him; or maybe they were just taller. And they were certainly taller, with long hair and pretty purple eyes. Hayato didn't quite know if they were a boy or a younger girl, but he could see that they needed help.
Making his way over to the bathtub, Hayato braced himself as the new kid reached out for his left shoulder, trying to help them get out of the water-filled tub where Mom's husband had clearly been attempting to give them a bath.

When he'd finished gathering up a new bathrobe and a hairbrush for his cute little Yoshiko-chan, once he'd managed to clean her up before he put her to bed again, Yoshikage narrowed his eyes as he saw the open door of the bathing room. He could only hope that it wasn't the woman who had managed to discover his cute little Yoshiko-chan, since he'd been starting to feel more and more like he was connecting with her. More and more, Yoshikage felt as though he wanted to share himself with her; more and more, Yoshikage wanted to show the woman his girlfriend, show her his cute little Yoshiko-chan. And then, he wanted to wrap his hands around her slender neck and squeeze…
None of which would help with maintaining the cover that he'd built for himself with this new life of his, of course, so Yoshikage could only hope that the woman hadn't been the one to discover his cute little Yoshiko-chan; the boy would be easier to deal with.
Fate was once again on Yoshikage's side, since the boy was the one who had found little Yoshiko-chan and was attempting to pull her out of the warm bath that he had drawn for her. The boy's eyes fixed on him, glaring even as his cute little Yoshiko-chan's hazy eyes landed on him as well. The sight of a figure, both alike and very much unlike his Killer Queen, with its green arms wrapped around little Yoshiko-chan's upper-body as it tried to pull her out of the water, made itself known then.
Stepping forward, narrowing his eyes as he saw the boy clenching his tiny fists, almost as though he was actually going to attempt to fight Yoshikage, he raised his right arm to swat the boy aside.
The sight of green tendrils coiling around his right arm, drew Yoshikage's attention back to the child who had been attempting to pull his sweet little Yoshiko-chan out of her bath. He seemed to be confused, actually bracing himself as though he expected to be struck. Turning slightly, Yoshikage saw Yoshiko-chan reaching out her own, slender right arm, lovely fingers curled almost as though she was the one directing the green figure with its tendril arms.
Calling Killer Queen out again, Yoshikage ordered it to wrap its hands around the neck of the green figure, squeezing tightly. When Yoshiko-chan reacted as though she was the one being strangled, gasping cutely with her lovely lavender eyes beginning to roll up, Yoshikage reached out to catch her before she hit her head on the edge of the cleaning area. Settling Yoshiko-chan down more comfortably, he turned back to deal with the boy who had been haunting his footsteps ever since he'd been forced to take shelter in this house with these people in the first place.
Swatting him aside, Yoshikage narrowed his eyes as the boy scrabbled on the ground.
"So, this is what you've been hiding!" the boy snapped, pointing at him.
"So, you've managed to find out," he said, narrowing his eyes as he looked down at the boy; it'd been troublesome enough to bring Yoshiko-chan here in the first place, but now that this boy knew about her, things were going to be even more troublesome. "What do you want?"

"What do you mean?" Hayato asked, shuddering as he found himself under the cold, dead eyes of the man who had done something to Mom's husband; he'd also done something to the new kid that Hayato had found in the bathroom.
"Are you planning to tell your mother about her?" the man who was pretending to be Mom's husband – Hayato knew his Dad, and he would have never done anything like this – demanded, cold, dead eyes narrowing as he focused on Hayato's face.
Hayato almost wanted to ask the man what would happen if he did, but looking into the man's eyes was all the answer he needed. "No," he said, forcing himself not to shudder; he didn't even know the girl in the bath, but she looked like she was safe enough for now. He and Mom weren't; Hayato had to remember that.
"Good," the man pretending to be Mom's husband said. "I'll know if you do."
"Yeah," he said, turning to leave the room, shaking as he got through the door and closed it behind him.
Hurrying back to his room, Hayato closed the door as quietly and as tightly as he could manage. He couldn't get that girl out of his mind; he knew she'd tried to save him somehow, since the man pretending to be Mom's husband had been about to hit him that first time he'd been stopped. After that, the man had done something to her that made it look like she was being strangled as she passed out.
Hayato might not have known the girl at all, but he was already on her side: the both of them were in danger from the same man, after all.

When the pair of them had made it back to the Kira residence, he and Jotaro had quickly split up to search for anything that might point them to where the man who'd kidnapped his eldest son had run off to when he escaped their initial search. Yoshikage Kira might have lived alone in this house, but he would have had to leave something behind. Something that might give him and Jotaro an insight into how the man thought; something that might allow them to track him to wherever it was that he was staying.
As Noriaki made his way deeper into the Kira residence, searching for something that might tell him where it was that Yoshikage Kira had run off to, he kept Hierophant Green close at hand so that he'd be able to deal with anything that needed the power of a Stand to deal with. Having Hierophant with him also allowed Noriaki to look in more than one direction at once, so he could search the rooms faster. However, there seemed to be something odd about this room in particular.
"So, you're one of the men who forced my Yoshikage-chan to go on the run," an old man's voice echoed through the room, before Noriaki could wonder too long about what set this room apart from all of the others in the house.
"So, you're his father, then?" he demanded, fists clenching. "Do you even know what he did?"
"My Yoshikage-chan just wants to live quietly in this little town," the old man – Kira's father, clearly – snapped, actually having the nerve to sound indignant.
"Well then, maybe he should have thought of that before he decided to kidnap my son," Noriaki snapped, glaring furiously at the room in general, since the old man's voice seemed to be coming from the air all around him, rather than from a singular, defined place.
He didn't know just what kind of Stand Kira's father had, but the simple fact that he possessed one was more than obvious.
"Oh?"
"He's my eldest," Noriaki snapped, narrowing his eyes as he continued searching for whatever Stand user was currently talking to; he wanted to know just who this man was.
Who Yoshikage Kira's father might have truly been.
"Well, you're being very selfish," Kira's father snapped.
Noriaki glared. "What're you talking about?" he demanded.
"You have at least two children, so I hardly see why you can't allow my Yoshikage-chan to have just one of them," Kira's father said, sounding like he didn't even understand why Noriaki would be searching for Tenmei-kun.
Noriaki snarled. "You don't even know what you're talking about. I'm going to find my son, and if yours tries to stop me, I'll make sure he faces justice."

Things almost returned to normal, or at least as normal as they could be, when Hayato knew that there was an innocent girl hidden away in the attic. He couldn't remember much of his day at school, since most of his attention had been on the girl in the attic; he'd been thinking of ways that he might have been able to help her, or at least get into contact with her so he could let her know that she wasn't alone. He'd been glad, in a perverse sort of way, to know that there was someone else trapped in this house with him and Mom.
And even Mom wasn't really trapped, since the man who was pretending to be her husband actually seemed to care about her, in a weird sort of way.
When he made it back to his room, still under the eyes of the man pretending to be Mom's husband, Hayato shuddered as he sat down at his desk. Looking over as one of his pens twitched, almost as though someone invisible was touching it, Hayato recoiled as the pen lifted itself off of the desk, then recoiled further as one of the blank papers on his desk lifted up and settled itself in the middle of the writing surface Hayato used for his homework. The floating pen settled itself down on the paper, twitching slightly.
Hello? Are you okay?
Hayato, still feeling more than a little dubious about everything that was going on, made his way back over to his desk.
Yeah, I'm fine. Who are you? How are you doing this? He wrote down on the same paper, looking down as the pen being used by… whoever the invisible person using one of his pens actually was.
My name is Tenmei Kakyoin, the pen wrote out, pausing for a moment as though Kakyoin-san was trying to think about what to write next. I think I'm stuck in your house.
Yeah, it looks like you were the one he brought in, Hayato wrote back, chewing his lower lip as he thought of what to write next. I'm sorry that ended up happening to you.
Really, I'm more worried about the rest of my family, Kakyoin-san wrote back. I haven't really had much more happen to me than just being dropped in this bed in your house, here. Dad and all of the others were worried enough the last time this happened. I don't even want to think about what they're going through right now.
Turning at the sound of someone coming up to his room, Hayato only had enough time to glance down at the paper, before the entire thing was picked up and shredded by what seemed to be the same kind of invisible force that had been holding the pen. The mess of shredded paper was quickly dumped into the trash can by his desk, and Hayato turned to watch as his door opened. Letting out the breath he hadn't even been aware of holding when he'd seen the door moving as Mom came into the room with him, Hayato twitched as he felt a light touch to the middle of his back.
He didn't have time to do much more than wonder how Kakyoin-san was doing that – how she'd held the pen, how she'd been able to read what he'd been writing, and how she'd ended up having the bad luck to run into the man pretending to be Mom's husband in the first place – before Mom came over to his desk.
"Hayato-chan, your father tells me that you were spying on him in the bath!" Mom exclaimed, and Hayato found himself wondering if there was anything she wouldn't believe when That Man told it to her.
"I just wondered who left the door open," he said, glancing down at the pens and papers on his desk; more than anything, he wanted to get back to the conversation he'd been having with Kakyoin-san.
"Well, just make sure you ask, before going inside," Mom said, though she still sounded kind of mad at him; he wondered just what it would take to wake her up to who That Man really was.
At this point, he didn't know if even showing her Kakyoin-san would stop her from trusting the man pretending to be her husband; it was frustrating, but Hayato didn't know if there was anything he could actually do about it.
Once Mom had left again, Hayato grabbed a clean sheet of paper and the pen he'd been using. Kakyoin-san, are you still here?
Yeah. Your mom really seems to care about that man, Kakyoin-san wrote back, and Hayato had the feeling that she was just as worried about that as Hayato had been for so long.
Yeah. I don't know what he's been doing to her, but she cares about home for some reason or another, he wrote back, narrowing his eyes as he looked down at the paper that the pair of them were using to communicate with one another. How are you doing this, anyway? I meant to ask before, but then Mom showed up.
I've been using my Stand; explaining it would take a longer time than I think either of us have to explain things, Kakyoin-san wrote, and Hayato had the feeling she would have explained things if there had been more time, or if there wasn't a risk of That Man coming into his room and seeing what was happening.
We'll talk more once I get you out of here, he wrote back, making a promise to the both of them that he would.
I'll keep that in mind. What's your name, by the way? I just realized I forgot to ask, Kakyoin-san wrote back.
My name is Hayato Kawajiri. I look forward to actually meeting you, Kakyoin-san, he wrote back.
Grabbing the paper, Hayato tore it up, making sure that neither That Man or Mom would be able to read what he and Kakyoin-san had wrote to each other. He'd been getting more and more worried about the time he and Kakyoin-san had spent writing back and forth to each other, since That Man and Mom were still here where one of them could just walk right into his room and see what he and Kakyoin-san were writing to each other. He didn't want Mom to know because she would have just told That Man.
Kakyoin-san was counting on him, now, as well.

This was the first time that he, Rohan Kishibe, had been asked for help by either one of the men who had come to Morioh on the trail of the Stand users that lived here, and he could safely say that it was more interesting than he'd been expecting.
"Koichi told me that you managed to make contact with one of Yoshikage Kira's victims," Jotaro said, cutting right to the point the way he always seemed to do.
"Yes; she was someone I knew from the past," he said, choosing not to bring up the fact that even he had forgotten her. "So, that might be why I was able to remember her."
