The rest of the shower went by uneventful, eventually Tusk exited his stall changing into his sleepwear. He gave one last wave to Stephanie, heading off as the wolf took a deep breath. After she was sure Tusk was gone, Stephanie left the stall, changing into her sleepwear; a pair of boxers, rewrapping her chest before putting on a black T-shirt.
The shower had washed the gel out of her hair, instead of spiking it was laying down. The wolf made her way back to Cocoa Bean Cabin, slinking in as she headed to bed. Andy still seemed to be hanging with the Cabin Leaders and Tusk had returned to the cabin prior, sitting on his bed, playing with his handheld. Stephanie concluded that Jakk was still at the Roast, before turning in for the night.
The next morning The Cocoa beans were woken up by announcements, calling them to the pole. The four boys (well three boys and a girl) got changed into their scout uniforms and headed out. they were met by the other scouts and the Scoutmaster and Slinkman. Lumpus looked over the Slinkman, the two of the whispering among each other.
"All right scouts, today's activity is a Camp Kidney Classic, a good old fashion game of capture the flag" Lumpus told the campers as Slinkman explained that the scouts would be split into two teams: Red and Blue, each team would get a flag and set up a base in the woods. "The First team to capture the other team's flag and bring it back to their base wins"
Lumpus dismissed the scouts as he was standing with Slinkman, commenting the capture the flag should keep the scouts busy. "They're running a cowboy double feature on channel 8 and I don't want to miss it."
Slinkman asked if he should get the popcorn ready to which Lumpus agreed. The two of them heading back into the Scoutmaster cabin to watch the marathon as Lumpus was a fan of old cowboy movies. Slinkman put the popcorn on as Lumpus sat in his chair, reclining as he reached for the remote, changing to channel 8 as he called out for Slinkman, asking about that popcorn situation.
"It'll be ready soon sir" Slinkman replied shaking a tin of popcorn, asking if it was smart idea to leave the camper unsupervised in the woods. Lumpus brushed it off. saying they were right outside the camp and would fine.
Out in the woods the campers had finished picking teams. Red team consisting of Jelly, Cocoa, Baked and Honey. Blue Team consisting of Pinto, Fava, Lima and Peanut. They agreed to split up and find their bases.
The Boys of Red team followed Lazlo who was acting as Red Leader, leading them through the woods. Lazlo called out to Raj who was holding a map of the woods, as they found a good place to set at their base. a small clearing in the forest surrounded by trees.
"You sure about this Lazlo, I mean were kind of in the open" Harold asked, looking around as Lazlo nodded, claiming they'd be able to see anyone coming as he slammed the flag into the ground. Andy nodded, understanding Lazlo's logic as he suggested they split into two teams. Half of them would stay and guard the red flag and half of them would go find the Blue base.
"Steven, you stay here as defense" Andy ordered as the wolf nodded, claiming that no one would touch the Red Flag. Lazlo took a cue from Andy also putting Clam on defense which the rhino agreed with. putting all the heavy hitters on defense would be no good if they could not get the blue flag.
Andy pointing out that him and Lazlo were among the most agile campers, suggesting them both of offense. Lazlo agreed stating the rest Cocoa and Jelly would be on defense as Honey and Baked would run decoy while Andy and Lazlo go for the flag.
"It's important to keep Blue team occupied" Lazlo decided as Andy nodded. going over the plan asking if anyone had any questions. Wilbert the beaver and leader of Baked Bean asked what exactly they meant by decoy.
"It means you get Blue Team to chase you and we sneak in and grab the flag, it's an important job" Andy explained as they would be taking the heat off him and Lazlo. Wilbert nodded as the team separated.
The Offense part of Red Team wandered through the woods as Andy looked at Lazlo, asking the monkey that if he were Edward, where would he set up a base. Lazlo took a moment to ponder on this, thinking out it.
"Well, it would be a place where we would not think to look" Lazlo explained as he tried to think of where that would be. Lazlo did not know where Edward would set up Blue base as they wandered around the woods.
Lazlo figured it would be on their side of the lake as even though the forest was neutral territory, Edward would not risk setting up near Acorn Flats. Andy huffed, saying this would be easier if they had walkie-talkies, searching as they wandered through the woods for a good while as Gordon walked along with the group, calling out that he had to pee
Wilbert looked at his cabinmate, The Bear simply held himself. Wilbert nodded giving the bear some personal space as they turned their backs to him. Lazlo and Andy kept walking forward as Lazlo offered to look high, climbing up into one of the trees to get a better view of the area. jumping from tree branches yet keeping enough distance for Andy to keep up with him.
Eventually the duo found the Blue base, Edward had set the Blue team up in a cave, which the Dung twins were guarding. Andy signaled Lazlo to come down with a birdcall as the Monkey crawled down the tree.
"Okay, so they're in a cave, one way in or out. the rest are probably inside because I doubt Edward would only leave Chip and Skip on defense" Andy whispered as the two went over ideas of how to go about this. Lazlo pondered as they only had one shot at this. eventually the other scouts caught up as Lazlo asked where they had been.
Wilbert explained that Gordon had to pee, asking Lazlo what they had missed out on as the Monkey and Tiger caught them up to speed, going over the plan to get the Blue Teams flag, leaning in for a group whisper.
Away from the game of Capture the flag in the town of Prickly Pines, The Squirrel Scouts of Tree Squirrel cabin were on Cookie selling duty. Their wagon parked outside of Pickles' doing their sales. Like so many days before, they would set up their table and sell cookies, which due to their natural sweet little girl aspect was not hard.
"And thank you sir" Amber said politely to the passerby who they had just sold three boxes to he walked off happily. Toodie wiped the sweat from her forehead, claiming that she was going into Pickles' to get a drink, asking the girls if they wanted anything.
Almondine spoke up asking for a bottle of water, Rachel asked for some gum, watermelon flavored if they had it. The squirrel nodded, heading into the store as Amber reminded her to use her own money, not the cookie money as that was property of the camp.
Toodie entered the convenience store, feeling the cool AC on her hair. she walked to the cooler. While Toodie enjoyed being on Cookie duty, the summer heat was one of the few things that bugged her, placing her head in the cooler, cold air blowing on her face.
She could have stayed like that but the clerk, called out the squirrel, telling her to either grab a drink or close the door as she was letting the cold air out. Toddie nodded, looking through the drinks, picking up a bottle of lemonade, a bottle of water for Almondine. She then walked up to the counter, picking up a package of gum for Suzie.
Toodie placed the money on the stand as the clerk counted it, giving the squirrel her receipt which she just crumpled in her pocket before leaving. she headed back to the table, handing out the goods. Almondine uncapped her drink, taking a sip of water as Suzie, plopped a wad of gum into her mouth blowing.
Business continued as usual as the customer base started to die out, the girls were about ready to pack it up when they hear the roaring of an engine. Suzie turned her head, hoping for a certain wolf but was disappointed when a black and green kart stopped right aside them the letters 'B.O.I.' printed on the side and a green skull surrounded by smoke painted on the hood.
The kart was driven by a Lion, with a Polar Bear riding shotgun, sitting in the back was a Crocodile. who was being chauffeured, having his arms spread out on the back of the seat. Rassa and Icy got out of the kart as the Lion walked to the back opening the door as the Crocodile stepped out.
all three of them were wearing Black Jackets with similar logos as Amber looked at them, commenting they looked like some sort of gang as they watched the three enter the store, passing right by the girls, Almondine catching the words 'Brotherhood of Incense' written on the back as the door closed behind them.
Suzie was the one to point out their kart looked similar to Steven's Bean Can, earning the girls' attention as they speculated. things were uneventful until the three boys returned from the store, the Lion and Polar bear having their arms filled with snacks while the Crocodile was only holding a single drink in his hand.
"Careful, I don't want soda on my seats" The Crocodile called out, a Cajun tone to his voice as he turned to the girls, approaching them, hands in his back pockets as he walked toward them. he smiled, commenting that he'd never seen them before introducing himself and his friends as Amber faked a smile, hoping he would leave as he had an unpleasant aura about him.
"So, who are you four?" Dennis asked, tilting up his sunglasses as the girls only gave their names. Suzie was the first one to speak, asking if they were going to buy anything or you try and fail to flirt with them.
"Flirt, I'm hurt; really I'm just new in town and just trying to be friendly. you all are scouts right, right you four happen to know where Camp Kidney is?" Dennis replied lowering his glasses as the mention of Camp Kidney got their attention. Amber hoping these three were not new Bean Scouts.
"What me, Naw. I could never pull of a Scout Uniform, those look ridiculous. I just want to stop by and say hi to one of my friends, Steph- uh Steven, you know em?" Denis asked placing some bills on the table.
The B.O.I. arc is the next arc but this time I don't want the Brotherhood to be completely antagonistic and yes Dennis does know the truth about Stephanie.
