"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I HAVE THE POWER OF THE ENTIRE CITY FLOWING THROUGH ME NOW! AND THEY SAID I WAS GOING MAD! WELL I'LL SHOW THEM, I HAVE SEEN THE FACE OF DESTRUCTION I KNOW THE WORLD IS BEING ERASED AND I WILL SAVE THIS CITY!" A voice cackled as electricity formed a face in front of the two Ashs.
"Any idea who that is?" Pokemon Master Ash asked.
"Volkner, the gym leader of Sunyshore, and a master of electric types, always moving to improve this city." Trap Ash said.
"And what do you think Paul meant by surviving the storm?" Pokemon Maser Ash asked.
"Look out!" Trap Ash said, creating an aura barrier, stopping a bolt of electricity heading straight for the Ashs, their Pikachus, and Infernape. "If I had to guess, that storm."
"How can we fight something like that, I don't have my Donphan. I don't think he even exists right now." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Then it's a good thing I came prepared." Trap Ash said, grabbing another Pokeball. "Infernape return!"
The aura barrier curved around them becoming a bubble to protect the group from stray bolts of electricity, before Trap Ash sent out his next Pokemon.
"Torterra, I choose you!" Trap Ash called out.
"Where do you even get these kinds of Pokemon?" Pokemon Master Ash asked.
"Torterra and Infernape, I got when I first came to Sinnoh, brought me to the top four of the league." Trap Ash said, as the electrical storm didn't phase the ground type. "You aren't the only one who beat Brandon, but I chose to keep going and growing. I traveled the world met tons of new people and Pokemon, but that's what makes us different, I didn't choose the obvious answer every time, you seemingly did."
"You think it was the obvious answer?" Pokemon Master Ash said.
"In my world I'm fighting another Battle Frontier already, and you know, maybe if I had taken Scott's offer I could have been a part of it, saved lives that were ruined by my actions, maybe even became a champion earlier, but I chose the long path each time. Pokemon are coming, let's do this."
The electricity coming from Volkner landed on the ground forming constructs of several Pokemon.
"Any idea what these things are?" Pokemon Master Ash asked.
"Looks like we're up against Jolteon, Raichu, and a lot of Rotom." Trap Ash said.
"Let me help, Pikachu can take a Raichu." Pokemon Master Ash said. "Think you can handle that many Rotom?"
"Easy." Trap Ash said. "Take the lead."
"Pikachu use Quick Attack!"
"Raichu use Thunder!"
Pikachu sped across the walkway, avoiding each bolt of raining electricity as he sped right through the Raichu's body.
"Torterra use Frenzy Plant!" Trap Ash called out.
Vines shot out from the beach below, striking the Rotom and dissipating their electricity but they kept coming back.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Pokemon Master Ash called out.
"Raichu use Focus Blast!" Volkner called out.
Pikachu sliced through the Focus Blast before striking Raichu with ferocity, slamming his tail into the side of Raichu.
"Rotom use Ominous Wind!" Volkner crackled.
"Pikachu use Discharge!" Trap Ash called out, to counter the Rotom swarms attack on Torterra.
Pikachu's electricity wrapped from Rotom to Rotom, entangling each of them as they began growing larger and larger forming into less but larger Rotom.
"I've got a plan, we need to make the Rotom more solid." Trap Ash said. "Torterra use Stone Edge!"
"Raichu use Surf!"
Torterra slammed his front feet onto the ground, sending rocks out of the ground and launching Raichu into the air, with the waves barely growing before Raichu was knocked out.
"Alright, Pikachu use Volt Tackle, start knocking the Rotom into each other." Pokemon Master Ash called out.
"Pikachu you help out and use Volt Tackle too!" Trap Ash called out, his eyes glowing blue.
"Rotom use Overheat, Hydro Pump, Blizzard, Air Slash, and Leaf Storm!" Volkner exclaimed angrily.
Both Pikachu raced around, slamming into the various Rotom, knocking them out of their appliances and into each other, growing them more and more into a larger giant Rotom.
"Okay, we've got one target, what now?" Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Simple, we take it out." Trap Ash said. "Torterra use Frenzy Plant! Pikachu use Iron Tail!"
"Pikachu use Iron Tail too!" Pokemon Master Ash called out.
Torterra wrapped vines down on the giant Rotom, the plasma Pokemon was now large enough that the attack not only connected but held as Torterra was able to pull the Pokemon down. Followed by both Pikachu slamming their tails straight through it, dissipating the Pokemon, but still no plate.
"Grumpy, isn't this when the plate usually shows up?" Trap Ash asked.
"Shut it Skirt, it's not that easy, I need to think." Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Need to charge, recharge, overcharge, supercharge!" Volkner exclaimed.
"I have an idea." Trap Ash said. "There are two sources of energy in this city in my world. The Lighthouse, and the gym."
"So what's our plan then?" Pokemon Master Ash said. "You think the plate is in one of those places?"
"If I was going insane and wanted to hide something, I'd put it somewhere only I would have access to." Trap Ash said. "And for Volkner that is the top of the lighthouse."
"So how do we handle this?" Pokemon Master Ash asked, seeing more electric types coming in.
"Torterra use Earthquake!" Trap Ash called out.
Torterra shook the ground beneath him, knocking the incoming electric types over.
"Rush, now." Trap Ash said.
Both Ash ran off, heading towards the lighthouse as Torterra held off the forming electric Pokemon.
On top of the light house
"Alright, what are we looking for here?" Pokemon Master Ash said.
"Pikachu use Iron Tail!" Trap Ash called out, pointing at the glass of the lighthouse, shattering it to show the Zap Plate.
"Alright, let's grab this and fix this problem." Trap Ash said.
"You know that us taking this will…". Pokemon Master Ash paused.
"Volkner will likely not survive this." Trap Ash said. "And if we do nothing, a lot more people won't survive."
"How do you make these decisions?" Pokemon Master Ash said.
"I've had to make the tough decisions for years, I learned to stop second guessing myself." Trap Ash said, grabbing the Zap Plate, as the stray electricity around the city dispersed. "Now let's get that other plate and end this."
