Elliott in a move of self-preservation grabs Natalie's stuff and legs it to his trident. Not ready to open the can of worms which was his mom and Natalie's dad.

"Nope... nope... so much nope!" Elliott screamed out as he got into trident while, quickly putting the vehicle, and zoomed away from the drive way.

Mr. Paquette simply just rubbed his eyes in realizing his mistake of informing the poor teen too early.

"Evelyn is going to kill me... well at least we won't have to worry about him finding out now...", the older Paquette thought to himself as he wandered inside and went to bed.

*Back to Elliott*

Elliott was currently flooring it and listening to Rockstar by Nickle Back and try to literally anything else other his mom getting it on with his Physics teacher.

"At least a physics teacher may understand how to be physical.", Elliott joked to himself as he zoomed down the highway. But in all reality, he just wanted his mom to be happy and if it was via his teacher, he won't be too mad. Just an ill mad. Plus, having Nat being part of the family would add to the powerhouse of engineers the family has built up.

Elliott quickly shook his head though as he thought about the more prevalent situation at hand Ms. Grumpy puss (Renee). He couldn't make a lick of sense of how to deal with the situation. He couldn't comprehend why she couldn't be vulnerable or weak in front of him? Was he not good enough to be able to hear what she had to say or was he too big of a pussy like Caleb said.

Elliott stared into his wheel for a while listening to the hum of the rain and just pondered in his own self-loathing. That is until a trident behind started to blare their horn at the poor boy and interrupted his thoughts.

Elliot then frantically reconnected his eyes with the road and floored it. Though he thought of a way to take off some of the stress. He grabbed some of Renee's "goods" that the doctor gave her for situations like this to destress a bit and took a large bite out of the brownie and groaned from how good it was.

"I do need to be stronger though for Renee and bury these feelings... for now at least. Cause' whatever I am experiencing right now would be a total cake walk for her...", Elliott grimaced at himself in the rear-view mirror and kept driving.

After about twenty minutes the goods hit once he got home. In which he promptly got out the car and dropped Nat's stuff on the sofa.

He then made himself a slice of pizza and headed outside to sit and listen to the rain for a bit. As a matter of fact, he pulled out a lawn chair and sat in the rain and stewed over his feelings. When he thought the "goods" would have made him feel better like they do Renee it had the complete opposite effect on him. He was suddenly very anxious and self-conscious.

All of those feelings he tried to walk away from the car came trickling down his face like the rain that was going down around him. He sat there for a few more minutes so no one else had to see him stressed out over himself again... after what felt like an eternity for the young Witt the moment of grief finally passed, and he went to work on his project to at least something today.

As he walked over to the garage to go to start up his project, he had to go get his gear from his room first. He heard the girls from inside talking about how Renee wasn't ready to say something yet because she was scared of losing him.

"Who is she talking about? Is it a guy she is interested in?", Elliott thought in his head a lil worried if someone was trying to snatch up the emo for themselves.

"Wait why do I care if she is her person... or do I? These feelings today have caused nothing but trouble for me today.", Elliott muttered out as he smacked himself in the face in preparation to deal with whatever is going on behind those doors.

The girls were all crammed up on Renee's bed not saying a word when Eli walked in to grab his "project".

Elliott took a scan of the room seeing the two girls wrapped underneath one blanket which caused him to smile for a bit. Before going back to the same poker face, he had when Renee was in the car earlier. He then grabbed his suit that he was tinkering with off the desk and shared a look with Renee. And showed a flash of pain in his eyes when he didn't mean to.

"God damn those eyes always can look right through the mask I put on...", Elliott thought of himself as he scrambled for the door not wishing to be in this room any longer than necessary.

Renee then reached out for his hand and grabbed it. Elliott turned around looking like a hurt puppy.

"Please don't say it... please don't say it... plea-", Elliott kept thinking over and over again.

"Elliott are you ok?", Renee asked in a very soft voice... the one which always made him feel whole.

Elliott, refusing to be weak when Renee was the one who needed someone strong for once just genuinely smiled and reassured her, "Of course I am. I was just making sure you lovely ladies were. And now that I have, I'll be in the garage working on my masterpiece. If you girls need anything let me know."

Elliott then walked out of the room and shut the door slowly.

Renee could practically smell the edible off Elliott's lips. So clearly, he was upset about something. And he was being stubborn as he normally is.

You could say you are just being like him then.

"Touché.", Renee replied to the voices. Nat was currently braiding the spooky girl's hair as her own way to destress.

"But Nat, in all seriousness I don't know how to him how I feel about myself. How is he supposed to confide in me when I can barely do that myself?", Renee asked feeling her heart go crazy from fear over the youngest Witt.

"Well mon amie it's a two-way street. Cause you with holding these feeling is causing stress on Elliott as well. He doesn't feel like you think he is good enough or strong enough to help you with your stress.", Nat advised as she took at her handy work being happy with the hair due, she gave Renee. That comment was enough to break the camel's back for Renee. She is full out bawling now.

Renee was also practically offended. How could he feel like that? But she quickly simmered down remembering what he told her in the car. She didn't want to make him feel like that. Because he was always enough.

"But how? He was always more than enough... he ga-gave me the courage to laugh again since my parents went away. He gave me a home. He gave me friends. And most importantly he gave me a smile. How can I show him he is Nat?", Renee choked out as some tears ran down her face as she hiccupped in between every other word.

"You can just tell him how you feel or at least try to. It's what family does right?", Nat asked with a smile.

Renee silently nodded her head and wiped away the tears.

"You're right. God, you have no idea how stupid I feel right now.", Renee stated through dry tears with a small smile.

"You don't know how stupid you look Renee.", Natalie sarcastically said making Renee giggle.

"As the one who is going to be wearing a Nessie onsie you have rock to stand on.", Renee teased with a smirk.

"Nuh-uh it looks cute.", The tiny engineered gushed.

Renee just nodded as she entered into the hallway to get Nat's stuff. As she did, she peered into the garage to just see Witt working away with no music playing in the background. It took all it had in her to not barge in there and give him a kiss and say everything will be ok.

"He needs his space.", Renee said to no one in particular.

*Back to the mechanic*

Beads of sweat were plaguing the man's face as he was hard at work to fix the power problem. But after no avail his work was for not.

"God why can't I figure out this fucking power issue!". Elliott shouted as he yanked the power cord that was charging his suit out causing the breakers to go off.

"Great another problem to deal with.", Elliott hummed in annoyance as he activated his suit reading five minutes of charge on his wrist display. He let the light blue hue act as a light as he walked over to the breaker box to find that the switches were fired so badly that not even Natalie wouldn't be able to fix.

Elliott just sighed in annoyance as he heard shuffling from the hallway and saw a light coming from the door. It was his mom who looked bewildered.

"Is everything ok inch warm. I ran over as soon as I heard you shouting.". Evelyn exclaimed as she examined the boy for anything that may have hurt him.

"It's nothing ma. My dumbass just tripped the power is all. The suit short circuited that bad boy.", Elliott reassured as he laughed at his own failure.

Mama Evelyn wasn't born yesterday so she knows that isn't the full story. But she just let that go for now.

"Ok inchworm.", She replied as she left.

Elliott assumed the girls were asleep due to him not hearing anything, so he made his way to the sofa which was conveniently a pull-out bed. And just laid down and tried to sleep.

A few minutes later he felt something snuggle up to him. And that something was Renee. She had her knife with her as a light source. God he was so stupid he forgot how deadly afraid Renee was of the dark. Dear lord poor girl was practically shivering cuz of it. Elliott then extended his arms wrapping them around the poor girl who eventually melted into his touch and calmed down. They stayed like that for a few till Renee turned around to face the boy's face. She put the knife between the two so she could look into his eyes.

"Hey, listen Ren-", Elliott started to say before getting a finger to the mouth promptly shutting the young man up.

"Now you listen here Witt. I am the one who should be apologizing. You were right, I should have told you how I felt. It was selfish of me to act like that without explaining myself.", Renee exclaimed making Witt's face light up.

"What are you apologizing for I was the one who pushed you into a corner...", Elliott retorted as Renee pulled him closer.

"Tell me how you really feel please.", Renee practically begged as she stared into Elliott's soul.

Elliott stared into her soul as well, "Is there something wrong with me Ren? Am I not good enough for you to confide in? Am I not strong enough.", Elliott questioned with a tear running down his face.

Renee then grabbed the boy's face and gave him a look of love, "You listen here Elliott and you listen well. You will always be more than enough for me. Every day you are in my world it becomes easier to live in it and it becomes easier to move on from my old family. Elliott to ne frank if it weren't for you, I don't think I would be here right now. You specifically begged your mom to take me in. Though I tried my best to stay alone. But you kept trying to make me a family member. And I can't lie when I say this you are my biggest joy in this world."

Elliott laid there speechless and looking into the girls Icey piercing eyes. How could he be so blind to her beauty beforehand or to these feelings of his. But it became so logical after that declaration. He was a dumbass.

"Fuck it here goes nothing.", Elliott exclaimed as he pulled Renee's face closer by the back of her neck and kissed her. She was surprised at first, but she grabbed his hand and deepened the kiss. It was sloppy, it was wet, but damn it was passionate. Elliott stared into her eyes as he felt her breath hit her throat.

Renee stared at the boy and practically dived in for another one. As she laid on top the young man feeling his warmth and taking it all in. While simultaneously making sure there wasn't an ounce of oxygen escaping his lips. But eventually even the great Renee needed a break.

"You have no idea how long I wanted to do that...", Renee said out of breath.

Elliott completely bewildered said, "Clearly... we should that more often. But for tonight let's get some sleep, ok?"

"Sure, thing Eli.", as Renee cuddled more into his arms feeling safer than ever before.
