Over half an hour of fighting between the ARC and the demons, Argent Tower was completely secure of demonic activity. It did take them a few waves of Arc Troopers to help reinforce the levels and annihilate the demons, they manage to pull it off and secure the tower. As for the rest of the locations with Gore Nest and heavy demons, they became much difficult for a single squad to handle and would ask for reinforcements to help them out. The first squad that came through the portal was the first fatality as they were completely torn apart when trying to fight their way to extract Samuel Hayden from his office. Another squad was sent to replace them, but found themselves caught into a sudden attack from the demons and force them to retreat with only half of the squad still alive from the attack. While stopping Olivia Pierce was enough to prevent anymore catastrophe, but taking back Mars from the demons would take so much work and so many casualties.

Doomguy made it towards the Advanced Research Complex through transport from above. When they descend him down to a platform, Doomguy jumps down and proceeds to go on foot to meet with Hayden. He would find bodies of ARC Troopers on the floor that try to fight through the building to reach his door, but had to remove all the demons in order to turn off the lockdown. Doomguy took care of the rest of the demons and fought a couple of Mancubus and a Summoner in the process, but it was quickly enough for him as he easily tore them apart with his fast reflexes and fast switching the guns.

As soon as the fight was over, Doomguy goes to the console controls and deactivates the door. It is here where the door opens and finds Samuel Hayden standing behind that door and looking down at him.

"Welcome." Samuel replies "I am Doctor Samuel Hayden."

Doomguy sees a flashback yet again at the day when he first saw this tall robot inside Vault 111. It all became clear now that the UAC was responsible for taking his wife and son away from him. Angered by this, the moment Samuel turns away from him, Doomguy aims Kellogg's revolver and shoots him in the back. What surprises him is finding the bullet never made contact with its robotic body, and Samuel continues walking away like nothing happen there.

"Save your ammunition." He replies and walks into his office room. Before entering the room, he looks back and replies "I'll give you the information you need to find your wife and son." Then looks forward and enters the room

Doomguy lowers his weapon and follows him through into his office to discuss. "You took my family…. And you rebuild the UAC…." He says to him while still being angry under that helmet

"The UAC of that time is not the same UAC today." Samuel replies when moving around the table and faces Doomguy

"How many died here?" Doomguy asks

"Sixty one thousand, three hundred and thirty seven employees have been killed. I must admit things have clearly gotten out of hand, yes, but it was worth the risk. I assure you –"

Doomguy stops him by trying yet again to shoot him. Samuel remain silent and ignores the fail attempt of the bullet hitting his body because of a strange protective shield around him.

"That won't hold against me." Doomguy replies

"I'm well aware of it. I rebuilt the UAC as a means of rebuilding humanity back to its original glory. There have been some setbacks, naming the Brotherhood of Steel and other factions in the wastelands…. And this too…. And the Institute also share the same goal as we do. However, things have changed inside the Institute and has been threatening everything we've built. I supported them on the research of finding someone inside a Vault that possess pure DNA that was never exposed to any illness or radiation. They required your son, and I required you as a means of contingency if things go sideways. I know all about you and your war with the demons."

"And what about my wife?"

"Well… I didn't want her to be executed because I know it'll be the end of everyone. She's still alive inside the Institute and taking care of your son, William."

"William?" Doomguy asks and looks a little confuse

"Yes, he's known as the Father of the Institute. You'll be surprised when you see him. As well as your other son."

"I only have one son. It's John."

"Oh?" Samuel laughs a little "You didn't know…"

". . . . ."

Suddenly a squad of ARC Troopers come through the office with their weapons drawn and aiming towards Doomguy. Samuel looks to them and replies "Stand down. Our time isn't up yet. I can't send you inside the Institute because they've changed the algorithm of the teleporters to prevent us from entering. There are still ways of entering the Institute, either through the Brotherhood of Steel or by stealing a Courser chip."

"Doctor Hayden, we've been ordered to bring you back." One of the troopers replies when walking closer to the table to stand next to Doomguy.

"You still have that Pip-Boy. Good, you can use it to track down the Courser if one should be wondering the Commonwealth. If you travel to the ruins of CIT, tune it to the lower end of the band and listen to it, you'll hear the interference and give you the chance of finding a Courser." Samuel offers one last thing to Doomguy, which is a radio headset to communicate "Use this and I'll communicate with you. I am here to help you, as I have always."

After Doomguy puts on the headset, he takes his leave from the room, but Samuel says one last thing to him "You should go to the Lazarus Labs. Your affinity for guns is apparent. I'm confident you'll find something more useful there as well."

Doomguy looks back towards Samuel and replies "You know I'll come for you if you fail to contain this."

"I'm not the one you should be going after."

Doomguy walks away and goes to take the elevator to go further down to continue his mission against the demons. As he descends further down, Samuel Hayden takes his leave and promises to fill in the rest of the details about his quest to enter the Institute a little later as soon as he is done clearing the complex. He is now force to fight yet again through more waves of demons, destroy another Gore Nest and retrieve a new weapon to his arsenal.

As he continues his fight with the demons and going further inside the facility, Doomguy asks himself if he should deal with this first before returning home. As much as he wishes to see his wife and a son he never got to see, but this demonic infestation is a much bigger threat that needs to be taken care of. He knew they have the reinforcements to take Mars back from the demons, but he knew how many lives would perish if they come here to fight them all across Mars.

"You're going to take to wait a while longer…." Doomguy says to himself and decides to remain on Mars to deal with this infestation.

Doomguy arrives to the main room where they test an almighty godlike weapon of the UAC. The BFG-9000. This weapon was in development for some time and was finally put into completion with a single weapon, placed inside a security system to prevent anyone from getting their hands on it. In order for him to actually unlock the doorway into the room, Doomguy had to find the perfect body and use an eye scanner in order to unlock the door. After a few attempts of using nearby dead bodies, Doomguy found the right body for the job to unlock the door and found himself standing in the room with the almighty weapon of mass destruction.

"An old friend…"

He found the holy grail of firepower. As soon as he got closer to it, security defences went active and force Doomguy to escape the lasers and find a solution to destroying the lasers. After destroying the lasers, the BFG was completely expose and gave him a chance to jump onto the platform to get his hands on it. The weapon was quite heavy, but if he can run incredible fast while carrying a dozen guns then Doomguy could easily run around with this.

After acquiring the BFG-9000, Doomguy tests it straight away and annihilates the entire room full of demons with just one shot. No demon was strong enough to withstand a single round of the BFG, and firing this almighty weapon did give him flashbacks of the time when he was using it many times against the armies of hell and leaving so many torn up corpses wherever he went. As much as he loves the Super Shotgun, the BFG was always his most destructive weapon.

As he advances further inside the facility towards the Lazarus Labs, which was the ground zero for the invasion, Samuel Hayden made it out of here and arrives on a spaceship orbiting the surface of Mars. He would continue to get updates on the counteroffensive with the ARC increasing more numbers of soldiers to reclaim Mars from the demons. Mostly the ARC was busy securing the Argent Filters and the tower, then would change course and when extra pair of heavy troopers arrive to help reclaim the facilities that are still in lockdown because of the demons. Samuel Hayden told them not to enter the Lazarus Labs because of their most powerful and dangerous experiment is now on the loose. Specimen CD587 is now active inside the Lazarus Labs thanks to an Argent Accumulator. In order to avoid the deaths of hundreds of people, Samuel wishes for Doomguy to face this demon and destroy it. That is the only high level threat right now on Mars.

Meanwhile, back inside an ARC Carrier inside the Commonwealth, the ARC was already a step ahead of Doomguy about the knowledge of getting inside the Institute. A team was in charge with operating the computers on the bridge and delivering the reports to the man in charge on board. It is here where they intercept a valuable information that regards one of the members of the Institute. They learn about Doctor Brian Virgil who defect from the Institute, as well as the number of synths entering the Glowing Sea. The ARC sent a team to investigate and found a smart mutant with the knowledge of entering the Institute. Instead of killing him like they always do to mutants, ARC decides to capture him and bring him directly into their headquarters to interrogate and gather as much as they can so they could finally tie the loose end of the Institute.

Diamond City was about to deal with the full force of the ARC as they witness three VTOL birds descending down at the front entrance of the city to deploy a large squad of troopers and a colonel onto the battlefield. Colonel Hendricks was put in charge, coming in with his black officer uniform with protecting light armour plating that covers his torso, shoulders and his boots. He arrives with a large squad of over thirty troopers. All of them came out as soon as the birds made touchdown to the ground and begun creating a defensive line for the colonel to arrive last.

Mayor McDonough arrives with a happy look on his face to try to greet the colonel in open arms. He also brought twelve security guards and Piper was one of the people who decide to watch this at a distance to see how things would go.

"Welcome to Diamond City!" McDonough approaches the colonel "I hope you enjoy your stay here in the city…. As long as your company doesn't cause any trouble…" His eyes turn towards the troopers securing the area

"Mayor McDonough I presumed? I assume you know about the talks and rumours about synths that are disguised as humans have been targeting this place for some time now?" Hendricks replies

"Well… There has been talk, but –"

"Diamond City has been infected by the Institute, and as long as you continue to remain in charge, nothing will change. It's high time that someone put things back to the way it was and eliminate these spies once and for all."

"Wait… B-But you can't do that." McDonough replies while looking nervous "The people of Diamond City will not allow themselves to be interrogated like this."

"Then if they want these monsters out from under the bed then its time they need someone to help drag them out." After saying that, Hendricks walks past McDonough and talks while talking "I'll be using your office for my quarters."

"W-What!?" McDonough turns around and watches him enter the city, then looks left to right to see the troopers entering the city as well.

Before Hendricks enters the city, he stops and looks towards Piper and asks her "You. You're one of the three who fought that Cyber-Baron, correct?"

"Excuse me?"

"You're going to be the first time to be questioned." Hendricks looks back to his men and replies "Take her." Then looks forward and walks into the city.

One of the troopers approach Piper and grabs her arm. She resist at first, but another trooper orders her to cooperate and follow them into the city. He makes his way to the mayor's office with four of the troopers and leave the rest outside to secure the market.

Elsewhere, back inside the Lazarus Labs, Doomguy was about to go face to face with a Cyberdemon, an ancient enemy of his past. It got itself some new upgrades, and was still difficult to actually bring down. After firing his BFG and a barrage of rockets and bullets, the Cyberdemon was still walking around and absorbing all of those shots. Bloodied and damage, the Cyberdemon continues its onslaught and pursuit towards Doomguy in this large open arena that was meant for the both of them.

After a serious beating, the Cyberdemon stops firing and gave Doomguy a chance to disable the Cyberdemon by jumping onto the leg and prepare to fire his BFG at close range to the Cyberdemon's face. Instead of removing the Argent Accumulator because doing so would lead him into Hell, Doomguy found another alternative and plans to destroy the Cyberdemon by just removing the head completely to stop it from continuing this fight. With one hard press of the trigger, Doomguy obliterates the Cyberdemon's head and fell backwards by the shockwave of the blast. He collapse hard onto the floor, while the Cyberdemon fell backwards and collapse on the ground with its whole head completely blown off. Doomguy rises back up, checks to see if the BFG was ok first, then approaches the Cyberdemon and finds it completely dead.

"I win…"

After the Cyberdemon is finally out of the fight and disintegrates a few seconds after it is completely dead, Doomguy leaves this place and makes his way out of the Lazarus Labs. Samuel Hayden contacts him again to help refill the details again in case he has forgotten what to do. Doomguy had to deal with a handful of ARC Troopers approaching him and ready to apprehend him, but as soon as they saw him holding the BFG, not a single trooper desire to die by that almighty weapon so they all decide to stand down and allow Doomguy to leave. VEGA would step in and help Doomguy return to Earth by going through another portal like he did before. Now all he has to do is return to the surface and try to fast travel back into the Commonwealth to begin the hunt for a Courser.

He was not the only one looking for one because the ARC was already a step ahead of learning of how to find. The ARC was ready to dispatch a hyper-lethal soldier into the Commonwealth to help with this mission. All they got to do is wake him up from his long slumber. He was inside his own stasis chamber for a very long time, now ready to awaken to begin his next mission to help the ARC win another fight against another enemy that stands in their way. When they open the hatch and brought life back into his body, he slowly walks out of it, and still wearing his green armour.

After diagnostics and testings to see if he is okay after staying inside that pod for many years, they get the green light to let him go. Someone would fill in the details and walk with him out of the facility and making their way outside to reach the helipad. So many people would stop and stare at this towering super soldier walking past them as they have never seen his armour or appearance before.

He was given an assault rifle and a handgun before getting on board the helicopter. The pilot was told to be waiting for a single soldier to arrive and would take him into the Commonwealth. His superior has already given him the report and will be meeting the colonel inside Diamond City. Both he and Doomguy will both be on the hunt for the Courser.
