The Rager
"What happened?" I asked incredulously, Kol had run out to hunt. And I was on the phone with Caroline while I waited for him to come back.
"The Hunter guy, he came into Ty's room and stole his venom or whatever!" Caroline repeated, I blinked both shocked and surprised he didn't just kill Tyler right then and there unless he just didn't count as a vampire?
"Were his Hybrids just not around?" I asked getting out of bed, I headed to the closet and pulled out some clothes.
"No, Alicia. You don't know what happened yesterday do you?" Caroline asked, I scrunched up my face, nobody mentioned a thing about any of it when we were together last night.
"Okay start from the beginning?"
"Okay. At the funeral the guy like stabbed April and let her bleed out trying to get one of us to reveal ourselves." She explained, I paled a bit everyone except Elena would have easily been able to fight the temptation.
"April? Do I know an April? O'Neil?" I asked confused, we knew everybody in town and the name April didn't ring a single bell.
"Not the ninja turtles." Caroline scoffed."Young, April Young."
"Oh the pastor's daughter, the one Elena use to babysit?"
"Yes her." Caroline said exasperated."Can I get back to my story now?"
"Yes do tell."
"Okay so it almost worked on Elena because she was at the podium speaking but Tyler walked up and saved her and the moment he did. He got shot."
"Shot?!" I interrupted , if Connor was terrorizing somewhere other than Mystic Falls I might've thought he was cool."Is he okay?"
"Duh? But since he got shot in front of everyone Carol wanted him to go to the hospital." Caroline explained."So while he was there he came in and stole his venom and now we've got a vampire Hunter armed with freaking werewolf venom! I don't wanna die."
"Relax, he clearly doesn't know that Klaus is the cure and wouldn't let anything happen to certain people."
"Alicia." Caroline scoffed, I shrugged even though she couldn't see it.
"I'm just saying."
"Are you coming to school?" Caroline asked, I pulled my phone away from my ear and looked at the time 6 AM glared back at me. I could definitely make it to school on time but was it actually necessary for me to go when I'd had guaranteed graduation and acceptance into the school of my choosing?
"I don't really feel like it." I yawned, laying down and rolling over in bed, I snorted when I heard Caroline scoff."Just kidding sure, I've already got my fancy Rebekah Mikealson outfit picked out for the day."
"I can't believe you really weaseled your way into their family."
"That's such an ugly way to say that." I scoffed pushing myself up from bed."And I'm gonna shower now so I'll see you at school."
"Okay."
We hung up and I grabbed my phone and headed off into the bathroom. I scrolled through my music for a bit before settling on an Alicia Keys song. I turned on the water then stripped off my clothes and stepped inside. Everything in Klaus' house was luxurious as hell. I had one of those cool waterfall showers.
"Nothing really matters, I don't really care what nobody tells me. I'm gonna be here. It's a matter of extreme importance, my first teenage love affair." I sang along as I lathered my hair with conditioner.
I took my time in the shower partly because I knew I had the time but mostly because I knew this was gonna be the best shower I ever took. When I climbed out I jumped a bit surprised to see Kol back and sitting on the bed playing on his phone.
"Knock or something." I said pulling the towel off my head and throwing it at him. He caught it in his hand without even looking.
"Sorry love, I was on my way in and I heard the most beautiful sound."
"Hm what was it?" I asked as I started moisturizing my skin. Kol put his phone down and I had his full undivided attention. Perv.
"You."
"Me?" I asked taken aback, I frowned realizing exactly what he was saying."Me singing."
"You should do it more."
"That dream died a long time ago when Caroline & I realized we couldn't be a pop duo and travel the world." I shrugged, I only really sang when I was really feeling the song. And I don't mean just a little singing along, I mean full fledged performing.
"Is that what you want?"
"I can just sing for you. That's enough for me." I replied, putting on my clothes."You wouldn't happen to want to go to school would you?"
"God no." Kol wrinkled up his nose. I couldn't help but giggle seeing his face."Bekah does that to feel normal. I do not need to."
"Sorry for asking."I replied sitting down at the little vanity, Klaus was thoughtful enough to get products I actually used and ones that wouldn't harm my hair in the slightest.
When I finished getting ready, I headed out to grab breakfast and then went right to school. I was surprised when I saw Rebekah standing outside leaning against her car, I pulled up beside her and climbed out.
"Ah, there you are." Rebekah smiled strolling over and leaning against my passenger side."I thought you were avoiding me."
"You did kill Elena, granted I get why you did it." I replied grabbing my bag from the backseat and closing the door."If it was between Bonnie & I or someone else I'd choose us."
"See that's why I like you." Rebekah purred looping arms with me."Unlike the rest of you lot, you are honest with yourself you don't claim to be something you aren't."
"They aren't that bad. I really think if you and Caroline weren't both trying to be alpha females you'd be best friends."
"It's a good thing that isn't the case then because I happen to like having you as my best friend." Rebekah smiled as we walked inside the school, it was going to be a very long day. We stopped at my locker and I grabbed my books out it, I felt like I hadn't really been to school in forever.
"So I'm having a bit of a house warming party later on." Rebekah said, I closed my locker and turned to face her."Kind of an anti-curfew party."
"Curfew?"
"Your ex the dog, he did get shot in front of the whole town." Rebekah replied, I nodded , it definitely made sense but it did suck. A town wide curfew over something that most people wouldn't have to worry about.
"You know I'm all for you having my back but you don't have to call him a dog." I replied shaking my head.
"Oh please every time you hear his name you either tense up or something on you clenches." Rebekah said, I scoffed as the bell rang and the two of us headed to class. Rebekah was carrying a stack of flyers I guess for her little party.
"I'm sorta with your brother so I am over it." I replied sternly, Rebekah & I headed into first period. The day had just begun and I was already bored. It pretty much breezed by until we got to History the class with everybody in it which meant it would be a very toxic good time.
It was also the first time any of us had been in Alaric's class since he died. When Rebekah & I walked in the sympathetic look Elena had on her face completely vanished. Stefan looked up at us and smiled it was mostly just to be polite.
"Morning everyone." Rebekah beams handing a flier to the first kid we passed."So I'm throwing a little anti-curfew party at my new house it starts at 5TH period and goes til whenever."
Rebekah handed Elena a flier who looked at it and glared at her. I gritted my teeth this was about to go left very fast.
"You're welcome to come, Elena we can bury the hatchet."
"3… 2…1" I counted down.
"It's a pretty enormous hatchet." Elena replied.
"Well I'm feeling quite generous." Rebekah said, and at this point Stefan & I looked at each other prepared to step in.
"New house huh? Did your brother finally kick you out?" Elena spat, Elena was amazing at shit talking because Klaus related shenanigans would almost immediately put Rebekah over the edge.
"No he didn't kick me out, I left." Rebekah shrugged, I sighed in relief she didn't take the bait.
"So you left the only person on earth that actually likes you?" Elena said, good god Vampire Elena was ruthless.
"Well Alicia really likes me, not quite as much as your boyfriend did." Rebekah said with a grin. You could tell Elena got to her for Rebekah to go that low. I put my hand on her arm and tried to guide her away.
"Why are you still here?" Stefan asked, I rolled my eyes if he saw I was gonna pull Rebekah away from Elena why keep engaging with her.
"Well history is my favorite class. Actually where's Mr Saltzman? Oh that's right." Rebekah side stepped me and leaned closer to Elena I wasn't sure exactly what she said but whatever it was Elena almost immediately hurled her pen at her. Rebekah easily caught it and tossed it right back with even more force sending it piercing right through her chest.
"That is enough of that." I grabbed Rebekah's arm and dragged her to the back of the class. We sat down and ignored the looks the couple was sending from the front of the class. Stefan said a few words to Elena before the two darted out of class."Why did you do that?"
"She started it, I was trying to be nice."
"You told her you fucked her boyfriend and mocked her dead stepdad." I whispered lowly, Elena went low but she didn't go anywhere near that low.
"I offered to bury the hatchet and I see that you're on her side right now so I'm gonna go." Rebekah stood up from her seat and walked out into the hallway, I groaned and followed after her. She didn't stop me so she clearly wasn't mad, I lost sight of her momentarily and stopped in my tracks when I caught sight of a bald headed man, brown skin about yay high.
"Well shit." I started to move toward him but I felt a hand on my wrist."Stefan."
"What are you doing?"
"About to go ahead and interrogate a Hunter. He won't kill me." I shrugged."If it'll make you feel better you can come with."
Connor ends up taking Jeremy inside a class room, Stefan holds his fingers up to his lips. I stood with my ear pressed against the door while Stefan peaked through the glass for a moment before leaning off to the side.
"Why the show and tell? I don't even know you." Jeremy said. Hmm so Connor has some sort of interest in Jeremy. That's either really good or really bad.
"Because it's invisible to anyone but another hunter or a potential hunter. Find me a vampire. I'll train you; teach you how to do what I do. I'm on Hudson off route 13. Don't show up unless you find one." Connor replied. What the hell was invisible and how did he expect Jeremy to find a vampire and live?
"Well how am I supposed to do that?"
"Why don't you start by asking your friend with the bandage on his neck." Connor replied, I heard footsteps and Stefan quickly grabbed my arm rushing us off around the corner.
"Friend with the bandage?"
"Matt. Elena fed on him at the funeral." Stefan explained I palmed my forehead Connor probably saw and knew she was a vampire already.
"Are we gonna go to his house?"
"You aren't going anywhere. Bonnie would kill me if you got yourself killed." Stefan replied, I rolled my eyes and scoffed.
"Fine. Just sit the girl with the Originals on speed dial in a corner. "
"I'm not, just keep an eye on Rebekah okay. She needs someone right now." Stefan said, I raised an eyebrow surprised he'd even say that.
"Do you care?"
"She's your friend. Damon is gonna go to Connors and snoop around." He replied, I nodded as we both pulled out our phones. I sent Rebekah a text letting her know I was going to her car. I kinda assumed Stefan was texting Damon the location.
I went out to my car, and waited for Rebekah. I didn't really care about what Stefan said, I texted Kol Connor's address and he replied immediately saying he was on his way.
I'd told Damon about the curse but he was rather impulsive and would probably still kill Connor.
Rebekah came out looking frustrated, I rolled down my window as she climbed inside her car.
"I'll follow you. I don't really need to change this is one of the outfits you picked."
"Oh I know a great outfit when I've picked it." Rebekah grinned, she climbed into her car and the two of us pulled out of the parking lot. She'd moved to the other side of town, my guess was as far but still as close as she could be to Klaus.
The place was cute and definitely very much Rebekah Mikealson approved. I definitely saw what Stefan was saying though, Rebekah had this big beautiful home and nobody else in it.
I parked behind her and she opened up the front door, I was curious if she had the place in somebody else's name to keep vampires out but that wouldn't really do her any good with Connor.
I put on some music and helped Rebekah set up, she'd already had a shitload of food delivered. We just needed to move the really valuable valuables somewhere safe.
"Are you okay?" I asked Rebekah as we moved an expensive vase down to the basement.
"Yes. Why wouldn't I be?"
"I don't know, it just feels lonely here. Where's Elijah?" I asked as we walked back up the stairs, Rebekah locked the door behind us and we sat down on the couch.
"Around. Same as Kol, he comes and goes." She explained.
I grabbed a cup and tapped the keg filling my cup up all the way. I took a big sip and grimaced.
"Is this more nasty than usual?" I handed Rebekah the cup who downed it in two seconds.
"It's fancy beer, imported." Rebekah shrugged. I just nodded that shit tasted funny and I didn't want any more of it.
About an hour later the party was in full swing and I was having a blast. There was drunk people everywhere and it was awesome.
Elena & Stefan surprisingly showed up and I already knew this was gonna be a continuation of earlier and I really didn't need it to kill my vibe.
So I found Bonnie, I was surprised she came but glad and just stuck with her dancing and having a good time. But true to Bonnie like nature she left right before curfew which wasn't a bad thing because deputies showed up shortly after effectively clearing out the party.
I was confused by that because Rebekah would've definitely compelled them away. And then I realized I hadn't seen her in awhile. Everybody had left except April and I, and April had took it upon herself to start cleaning up.
"You don't have to do that." I said as she dragged a bag around the room.
"I have nothing better to do." She replied, she looked at me for a second and grinned a look of recognition on her face."Alicia! You got so beautiful."
"Ouch." I replied faking hurt, April quickly winced at her wording."You got pretty beautiful yourself."
"Thanks. Have you seen Rebekah?"
"No, I'm gonna check upstairs." I replied, April nodded and set her trash bag down on the floor the two of us went upstairs and to Rebekah's room. April went to knock but I stopped her and pushed the door open.
"Hey. Way to bail on your own party." April said softly, Rebekah was in bed looking sick. I frowned Vampires didn't get sick the only time they looked sick was when they got some werewolf venom.
Fucking Connor.
"I just needed a minute." Rebekah replied forcing herself to sit up, I sat down on the edge of her bed and motioned for her to lay back down." Did everyone leave."
"Deputies weren't too fond of an anti-curfew party." I replied, I laughed because this was probably Rebekah's way of bringing a bit of the 20's to the present day.
"Why are you still here? I mean I know why Alicia's here but you." Rebekah said.
"Um honestly? Picking up trash is a hell of a lot better than sitting at home alone, thinking about the family I no longer have." April replied, I felt for the girl when her mom died her Dad shipped her straight off to boarding school. Little April was out of sight and out of mind for so long.
I glanced at Rebekah who looked like she felt bad for the girl which was very rare for her to do.
"Hey if you want I can help look into what happened with the fire at your farmhouse." Rebekah replied getting out of bed. April let out an awkward giggle.
"What are you gonna be able to do that I can't?"
Oh April if you only knew the world you just stepped into.
The three of us finished cleaning up before Rebekah went back to her room, April took the guest room and I stayed downstairs in the living room. I needed to call Kol and Klaus to check in.
So I decided to call Klaus first since that would be the quicker phone call.
"Little witch."
"Hybrid bitch." I shot back, Klaus let out a chuckle and I smiled a bit."Did you happen to have to heal anybody today?"
"Actually yes, Elena." He explained, I raised an eyebrow that explained what happened to that nasty keg I opened earlier.
"So I think our friend Connor spiked the beer. Rebekah's trifling imported beer." I replied, Klaus scoffed in annoyance.
"Of course he did. Kol & I had a bit of a run in with him."
"What happened?"
"He came to the hospital and Damon set up this little trap, it backfired of course and Kol & I got blown up but."
"Blown up?" I scoffed the dude had venom and played with bombs that's just not okay.
"Yup. I have a bit of gossip for you."
"Klaus Mikealson? Gossip? Me ?" I asked shocked, I needed to hear this."Spill."
"I went by to check on Tyler earlier, and he was shacking up with a little wolf."
"Tyler?" I asked taken aback." You saw them?"
"I saw her and my was she a beauty." He replied, I scoffed because the girl was pretty doesn't mean Tyler did anything.
"Goodbye Nik, that doesn't mean a thing." I said.
"Okay love." He replied in a singsong voice. We hung up and I went and called Kol next.
"Are you okay?"
"Just a bit of sot in my hair, I'm great though Darling." He replied I frowned not liking the idea of him being hurt.
"So did you guys take care of him?"
"He blew himself and us up. I doubt he survived." Kol said, I threw my feet up onto the couch."Enough about him, how was your day?"
"The usual teenage drama, I'm watching over your sister whom Connor managed to slip werewolf venom to."
"It won't kill her, but she's probably miserable right now."
"Oh she is, that's why I'm downstairs and our guest is locked and spelled into her bed room until morning." I explained." Is it cool if I come back over in the morning?"
"I actually think you should go home instead."
I frowned a bit taken aback that he'd turned me down. Usually he wanted me around."Yeah, I guess that's fine."
I got off the phone pretty quickly after that, something about it felt off to me but I knew not to push it. I casted a protection spell on myself and headed upstairs to Rebekah's room. I climbed into bed with her and sighed she was still drenched in sweat but asleep I stared up at the ceiling thinking hard.
