Firem78910: Lifeboats? Drains? They are going to need much bigger to save themselves!
HanKanoya: Well, you gonna be more shocked!
lorweth.23: Hehehehe. Some OMAKEs might happen but yeah, the USJ is going to be HEAVY and people will need a respite. Also, I agree that there is a Harem with the clones going with the women of MHA.
MBS41: Might be difficult since I have other fanfics to continue. And while I think that Ben 10 or Steven Universe are going to be difficult since it would be more like them watching the show, I could use a few scenes with their counterparts in another plan that I have in the future. As for Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, it would be the same but I have forgotten most of the story except for some key parts. I think there was a fanfic of having Izuku as Father, can't remember which one.
magical fan18: With the author and so, I already planned on that adding DLotC (Daily Life of the Clones) much later.
Sorry for the long waiting! I was having hard weeks of work and studies since my last update (30/05/2023)! BUT! Today, 25/07/2023, I HAVE HERE THE NEW CHAPTER OF THE REACT WITH HALF 15k WORDS AND WITH 317 FAVORITES AND 346 FOLLOWS! ENJOY IT!
Chapter 6: Odds Against All
As everyone left for their respective break rooms or their own rooms, Kuma stood alone with many of his maintenance bots ready to comply with his orders.
"Well, since we are on that part of the story… I think it is time to add a few things to this place before we get drowned with tears." Kuma said with a sigh before turning to the bots. "Alright, you know what to do! I want this place willing to suck tears for the unforeseen time! Now, work on it, people!"
Every bot began working on the place at his order with mechanical compliance. Kuma maintained his posture before sagging with a sigh. "I expected that this would happen and I am going to be ready for this…"
He then walked out of the place in search of multiple barf bags, tissue boxes, and many bottles of water since he knew that crying waterfalls will leave someone dehydrated.
-o-
As Kuma was left to do his job, everyone else was gathered depending on their age range.
Izuku remained his head hung down with his hands over his head. The rest of the Deku Squad and the classmates were watching him with varied emotions.
Who could blame him? He just saw the little unicorn who he almost considered like a little sister or a daughter turning into what he had become by killing Overhaul and… smiling.
It wasn't the smile that they would have wished for her.
"D-Deku-kun…" Ochako began only to stop when a hand planted on her shoulder. She turned back to see Jango who had grasped her shoulder and shook his head. "Oh…" She reluctantly backed off.
"Well… that just happened." Mezo sighed, sitting on one of the many beanbags that were scattered. "I just… I just can't believe that there are many dark universes that end up with many more bad endings or I am the only one?"
"No, you're not." Rikido agreed.
"Revelry in the dark."
"I can't be surprised that if we rescued Eri… there was a chance that Midoriya was going to be one in the Darth Kyofu one…" Mirio said sadly. "And I…"
"Mirio, it wasn't your fault." Tamaki began.
"B-But…"
"He's right, Mirio." Nejire said, calmer that the other students have heard her. "You didn't know much of what Sir was planning but neither of you expected that the source behind the Quirk Eraser Bullets was from Eri's. So, don't blame yourself because the only one who should be blamed is that villain."
Mirio sighed but reluctantly accepted, for now, that statement.
"I can only say…" Mineta said, raising his hand. "While Midoriya is an amazing guy, Darth Kyofu knows how to fight against Quirked individuals. If there was a chance that Kyofu was in our world, I shudder to think of how efficient that guy would be."
"A person with hateful motives can be persistent on their quest." Tenya stated, admitting that there would have been a chance that Stain was also the same, looking for the ideal hero like All Might and eliminating those that didn't share the same.
"Not… being the devil's advocate…" Neito – of all people – interrupted. "Yes, we saw that the child was harmed and turned into what… Kyofu had become. But you have to understand that while you are saddened that there is another with that kind of ending, you should be glad that this time, it isn't the case."
"I can't believe I'm saying this but Monoma is right." Itsuki groaned, rubbing her head. "Yes, what happened in Kyofu is bad but she is here and safe from Overhaul. She won't be harmed anymore and she is in good hands. Isn't that the best?"
"Y-Yeah…" Everyone turned to look at Izuku who answered weakly but his head still lay low. "I can't change the outcome of what happened to that version of Eri… but at least… I know that our Eri is safe… and sound… and away from Overhaul… and if he thinks that there is a chance of recovering her…" Green lightning sprung up, shocking those that were close and wary of him. "Then he must get her over me." He growled.
"Don't worry, Midoriya! We are with you on this one!" Eijiro roared, pumping his fists.
"You ain't the only one!" Tetsutetsu roared in agreement. "Class B will also help the little one to be protected at all costs!"
"I speak for everyone from our class that we are all in agreement then." Itsuka said firmly as every member – including Neito – nodded.
Izuku's lightning subsided and looked glad to have friends like them. "Thanks."
"Don't forget about us, ori'vod." Jango smirked. "We might not be part of your world but you can bet your ass that that di'kut won't be left alone by the rest of the Vod'e."
Fordo cracked his knuckles. "Oh, you will be surprised…" He chuckled, vindictiveness in his laughs.
"Now that this situation is done…" Tsuyu muttered. "I wonder what is going to happen to our other versions in USJ. It's been bad the first time but… can't get any worse?"
Few of Class A winced while Class B was mostly confused.
"If I'm being blunt, did your experience in USJ was bad?" Tokage asked.
"Well, you are going to wait until you all watch…" Everyone turned to Kuma who walked toward them.
"Kuma-san! Can I ask you a question?" Tenya asked, politely raising his hand.
"No need to raise your hand." Kuma snorted, waving a hand. "Also, you already asked but shoot."
"Kuma-san, since you have knowledge about the multiverse… but…" He hesitated. "Is there… is there a point that my brother didn't get into a fight against the Hero Killer? If so, why?"
Kuma blinked at such a question but hummed thoughtfully to get his answer. "I wouldn't be hopeful about that, Tenya-kun. There are multiverses that Akaguro Chizome – Stain, the Hero Killer's full name which was also called Stendal." Few gasped at recognizing the infamous vigilante. "There were a few multiverses that Stain did it thinking that Tensei-kun wasn't worthy of being a hero but most of them were out of him not having enough information of the heroes he killed. Sure, there are some heroes that weren't upholding the vow of heroism but the flaw of his plan was showing the true colors of those 'heroes' which you can guess that I emphasized since they aren't worth shit."
"And the others…?" Itsuka asked warily.
Kuma shook his head from one tip to another. "Well, I remember that there was one of the multiverses that Stain did that out of sparing Tensei-kun from other villains."
A few students blinked in confusion but Tenya was dumbfounded. "The Hero Killer… saving my brother…? B-But… didn't he…?"
"Yes, I know. Him, being paralyzed wasn't something he wished to do, but he did it because if he didn't make your brother quit being a hero, there would have been a chance that the worst villain came to him and… you know." Kuma shrugged nonchalantly. Before Tenya could say anything, he continued. "And he did that because he was going to have a baby with someone."
Tenya and the others were shocked. "I-I… H-He… What?" He sputtered in disbelief. "I was going to be an uncle!?"
"THAT IS WHAT GOT YOU SHOCKED, FOUR-EYES!?" Katsuki yelled, slapping the back of the speedster's head.
"Eh, still, I don't know if your brother here has someone…" Kuma deadpanned with a sweatdrop on his head. 'There were many shipping between him, Fuyumi and Ryuko, Pixe-Bob I mean… Best not to spoil anything or else, Tensei won't get a partner for himself.'
"In any case, I needed to pass here to speak with Izuku here." Kuma motioned to the greenette who looked as surprised. "Jango, Fordo, I won't need to tell that you two need to keep an eye on the others, understood?"
While Fordo saluted, Jango simply huffed and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah…"
Not caring that he was somehow dismissive with his tone, he motioned Izuku to follow him.
As they left, everyone was much confused and curious about what their host wanted from the greenette.
"I wonder what Kuma has for Deku-kun." Ochako muttered.
"Maybe he is going to tell him something about the next chapter?" Tsuyu assumed.
"Might be. Or it could be that he is preparing for more clones to come since he did that to Jango and Fordo." Hitoshi pointed out.
"I wonder if I will be able to see those schematics." Mei chimed eagerly.
"We shall wait and see." Fordo said with finality.
On the way with the two individuals, Kuma was serving Izuku a cup of tea inside his room. Izuku was kind of nervous about what was going to happen while sitting on a bear-themed chair.
'While I should be nervous about this…' Izuku thought slowly as he tapped on his chair which felt nice and cozy. '…the seats are comfortable.'
"I see you like the seats, hm?" Kuma chuckled softly as Izuku blushed in embarrassment.
"I-I… well, you see…" He sputtered in embarrassment.
"No need to be embarrassed, Izuku." He placed a cup of tea in front of him with a friendly smile. "You are a special guest on my show. And, as the host of the show, I must show accordingly to my role, don't you think?"
Izuku nodded. "Y-Yeah, sir…"
Kuma chuckled at his nervousness. "Like a little rabbit, huh?" He teased.
"I-I-I…! W-Well…" Izuku began rambling nervously and in embarrassment while waving around his arms and hiding his face.
"In any case…" Kuma interrupted, sitting in front of him and putting a fist under his chin, semi-seriously. "While I don't doubt that you have any question you want to ask…" He smirked when Izuku blushed in confirmation. "…I asked you to be here for a specific question."
"H-Huh… sure."
"After we end the USJ arc…" Kuma paused, eying Izuku who started to fidget nervously. "…what are your thoughts on having the Legion Quirk?"
It took him seconds to listen and then five seconds to register that which he then reacted accordingly. "W-Wh-What!?"
Kuma left Izuku to process what he just offered for him. The thing about handing him the Legion Quirk was something he came up at the last minute. He hadn't thought much about it since this version was still learning the One for All and even then, Kuma knew that it was going to be more confusing when he gets the previous users' Quirks.
'Still, on the plus side, I am talking with THE Midoriya Izuku… any other of my kin would be delighted or something.' Kuma mused quietly, glancing at the nervous yet fidgeting green rabbit.
Once Izuku calmed down, he then tried to process better the information and offer he just got. "So, you are telling me that… you're willing to give me the Legion Quirk? Why?"
Kuma nodded slowly, sipping on his cup of tea. "Why indeed… why do you think that I'm offering you the Legion, hm?"
Izuku frowned thoughtfully, trying to come up with an answer. And he got it if his eyes suddenly widened. "Because of the League of Villains, right?"
Kuma smiled. "Ding! Ding! Ding! That is correct, Izuku-kun!" He sang childishly. "In the future, the heroes are going to be prepared for what is going to happen. You might think that giving Legion to you must be incorrect. But, you must understand that the Vod'e are willing to stand with you even if they are fighting with your other version."
Izuku hummed quietly. "Is it something that Lanterna gave you something? You've not been paying attention on the show until…" He grimaced sadly. "…until Darth Kyofu."
Kuma nodded a side nod. "Well, that is part of it. But, Lanterna and Bio are two Overseers of that universe while mine is different. I just asked him permission and such, and here we are."
"So… about Legion?"
"Yes, Legion. The thing is, in the future videos, you're going to have a decision that might help you and the others." Kuma stated. "Between your own world and the experience you came up with… what would you have done if you had the Legion on your back? What possibility would the Vod'e become if they were real in your world? How can you expect things to happen if you suddenly had the Legion?"
"I…" Izuku hedged awkwardly.
"It is going to be difficult, I know that." Kuma hummed quietly, taking another sip of his tea. "The people of your world and many others wouldn't think nicely of the Vod'e because they would think that they are expendable and simple individuals out of a Quirk. But, you see, there are few Sentient Quirk users, and few of them aren't regarded highly."
Kuma frowned and sighed sadly. "Just like Twice from the LOV faction, you will know things that shouldn't have been known if you keep watching."
Izuku hedged uncomfortably. While he is still a student and a teenager, he had known things he shouldn't know because of his previous Quirkless status. He knew how people regarded other students because of their 'weak' or 'villainous' Quirks. Hitoshi was one and he could guess how much people had disregarded him because of his Quirk.
"Still, think it through before coming up with an answer." Kuma sighed as he finished his tea. "Might as well learn something when you all return, don't you think?"
"Y-Yeah…" Izuku replied, finishing with his tea.
Kuma smiled with a nod. "Well, it's not like we are in the only place where you will have many hours to train and prepare." He joked with a chuckle which Izuku made a small laugh and blush in embarrassment. "In any case, return with your friends for a time since I'll visit your teachers and other heroes."
As soon as he gave his back to him, his smile faded into a frown. "I do think that there are a few people willing to ask me some questions…"
As Kuma said, the teachers of the U.A., Pro-Heroes, and even the vestiges of One for All stayed at the reunion room they took place.
"So, we all agree that we need to put our priority on teaching our students to be better since this place holds merits on having a training ground and our world's time stopped." Nezu began.
"It might be also good for us to train." Toshinori said with a nod. "Ever since I returned to my hero form, I can consider myself lucky that I can have my time branching my moves when I get my chance against All for One."
"Toshinori…" Mirai frowned.
"Train all you want, just remember that he is a cunning bastard, and not only will he stoop low for you to make a mistake." Sorahiko grunted with his arms crossed. "He is going to make use of everything for you to attack someone else or even your successor like you did with me. Keep your head cool while you train, am I understood?" He growled angrily.
"Y-Yes, sir…" Toshinori shivered in fear.
"That is a great idea." Ken added. "We, as teachers and heroes, will also have time to advance the students' curriculum and with the training ground, we will move forward their skills."
"That is a great idea, Cementoss." Nezu hummed. "While we do that, take in mind that everyone here needs to continue learning and doing what you must to know the danger that the League of Villains will make. Might as well learn what the show will share with us."
Everyone nodded. Enji grunted as he needed to make better of use his Quirk since he had learned that there was a fire user by the name of Dabi that had a powerful fire Quirk… and somehow, it reminded him of his deceased son, Touya.
"I wonder if there is a chance to add more people here." Keigo added as everyone turned to the current second-ranked hero. "There might be a few people that would want to know of the danger that will come and plan for the best."
While a few heroes hummed thoughtfully, Nezu frowned at that. If by chance he came up with the answer, Hawks would ask for Kuma to summon members of the HPSC… but something inside him told him that he shouldn't be worried about that.
"Why don't you ask me then...?"
It was at that moment that everyone turned to their host walking calmly toward him and then sitting next to Nezu like an old friend. Every hero who knew Nezu personally was shocked at such display but few remained calm as they assumed the personality of their host.
"So, Nezu…" Kuma began, side-glancing at him with a smile. "Is something that your dear host can make your wish come true?"
Nezu chuckled as he sipped on his tea – knowing that Kuma had prepared his favorite brand. "Well, world domination for once but not yet. Thank you for asking though!" He joked, following with a cackle.
Everyone was unnerved by how they acted and spoke… it was like seeing a newly discovered animal and didn't know how to react to that. Nezu was delighted to have someone to chat with without the squeamish, it was like a new air to breathe.
"Ah, I do have a request!"
Slowly, Kuma turned from his friendly look to a blank one when he looked at Keigo. "…yes? What is your request, Keigo-kun?" He asked nicely and everyone felt that.
"Uh… can I ask you if you could bring a few people to watch the show?" Keigo asked, showing the friendly persona he was used to.
Kuma eyed the Wing Hero with a thoughtful look before giving him a… reassuring smile which now most of the heroes were wary of. "But of course, I thought that if there was a possibility of bringing people here, I should be known first! So, you do want to bring, Keigo-kun?"
Keigo didn't know but to sigh in relief, although he missed the tone of their host. "Well, thanks! I was just thinking of having a few members of the HPSC here and see how to counter against the League of Villains!"
As soon as he finished speaking, everyone could feel the dark oozing energy coming out of Kuma. As for him, everyone noticed that his hair covered most of his face and they could only see the dark purple eyes gazing menacingly at Keigo. Toshinori, Enji, and Keigo instinctively when into their battle position, feeling threatened by his power remembering the feeling on Kamino Wards.
Tsunagu, Shinya, Rumi, Ryuko, Yasuhiro, and Tsuguo were immediately on their guard too. Those under the Top 10 ranked heroes, could feel the pressure and they could barely feel the air passing through their lungs. Yu looked like she was about to pass out from the pressure but held on.
"Takami-kun…" Kuma droned quietly which put more pressure on the mentioned person since he was using everyone's given name, but family name? That is like catching a kid's hand on a cookie jar. "There is a limit on how much my generosity can pass. So, think again about what you were about to ask… and maybe I will consider it. AM I UNDERSTOOD?" He glared at him.
Keigo gulped nervously, not something he would have done. He had been trained by the HPSC since he was a kid and he knew how he should fight against powerful villains. But this time, he might need to back off before he regrets it.
"Y-Yeah… sorry about that."
"Apologies accepted." Kuma answered with all sunshine and rainbows – metaphorically – the previous pressure disappearing like nothing. A few heroes sighed in relief.
Nezu chuckled quietly. He was thinking that the HPSC would be unrecognized for being friendly with their dear host. Oh, he was now eager of knowing what they would do and him planning on how to deal with them.
"In any case…" Kuma's voice interrupted his thoughts. "Anybody else wants to add someone here before the show starts? They might be out of the loop but I can work on something."
Everyone glanced at each other before Mirai motioned. "I would like to bring my sidekicks here. It would be understandable that they are to know what is happening here and they would gladly learn this."
"Your sidekicks, Bubble Girl and Centipeder, right?" Kuma said as Mirai nodded. "Well, before I bring more… it should be preferable if there is anybody else I should bring. And don't worry, if you have anyone else to bring in the future, just tell me and I will bring them."
Everyone thought about who to bring and the next people that Kuma should bring were Awata Kaoruko (Bubble Girl), Moashi Juzo (Centipeder), Kamiji Moe (Burnin), Ueda Keisuke (Lunch Rush), and surprisingly, Kuma summoned Midoriya Inko and, Bakugo Mitsuki and Masaru.
(A/N: No explanation needed for Lunch Rush)
"W-Wh-What!? Where are we!?" Inko shouted in distress.
"Mah, mah, remain calm, Midoriya-san. You are safe and with other heroes, you are not in danger." Kuma assured her.
"WHAT THE HELL IS THIS!?" Mitsuki roared, on the other hand.
"We are in a safe place, Bakugo-san." Kuma placated her, hiding the fact that she was scary to even himself. "But, do not worry about that. We are simply here to see on one Izuku's multiverse and so."
"My baby is here!?" Inko shouted, half-glad and worried.
"Yes, he is with his friends right now." Kuma nodded. "I only need you all with a set of memories so that you all are up to the show."
Kuma tapped their foreheads and a new set of memories flew into them. They gasped at the new memories they got but it was quick and simple as Kaoruko and Juzo went toward Mirai with glad expressions.
"Sir! It is good to see you again!" Kaoruko sobbed with a smile, almost wishing to give her boss a hug.
Juzo nodded, collecting his emotions. "It is, Sir."
"Endeavour, sir! What is happening here?" Moe said, her flaming hair sizzling the air around her.
"We aren't very sure about that but for now, we are in good hands." Enji answered, eying the now distracted Kuma who was speaking with Nezu like old pals.
"So, did the show amuse you, Nezu-kun?" Kuma hid a chuckle – noting the similarity he made with a certain two-toned sadistic bear doll.
"Why indeed, I did!" Nezu answered with a laugh of his own. "I see you don't put high regard on the Hero Public Safety Commission."
Kuma's smile stained for a moment before it faded away into a displeased frown. "Well… when you live your life like mine… and see every possibility of your universe or others… you tend to frown upon those with powers when they themselves don't have."
"Ah, I see…" Nezu hummed in agreement. "Just out of curiosity, why did you bring both Midoriya's and Bakugo's parents?"
Kuma shrugged nonchalantly. "Well, the next chapters are going to need help from those that need the most. I thought of the Todoroki family, but well…" He circled his hand with a thoughtful expression. "It's best to do it later."
Nezu remained quiet as he sipped his cup of tea. "Mmh… I see. The USJ is going to be worse than I expected…" He said grimly.
"Worse than you think…" Kuma agreed with a sigh.
"So, Inko. What does it feel to have multiple sons?" Mitsuki asked.
"Well… I should be delighted and all but…" Inko hedged uncomfortably with a later sigh.
Mitsuki, noting how her best friend sighed, understood what she was sighing for. "Yeah, it seems like our kids didn't share the same friendship we had. And I apologize what my brat of a son said to yours…"
"Don't be, Mitsu-chan." Inko assured her with shed of tears. "The only ones who are blamed for their actions are the school and those that think that Quirk is everything."
"I think it is for the best to meet your new sons and our nephews if that is something…" Masaru said awkwardly. "Only that I never expected to have more than one."
"Y-You're right! I need to see also my baby!" Inko then motioned to see his son with the help of the heroes.
Leaving the two Bakugos alone – with the other heroes – Mitsuki grinned as she walked up next to her husband. "Making her pay attention to her son. Not bad, Masaru."
The husband grinned back. "Well, I knew how to deal with irritating clients, so it was best to make her pay attention to Izuku. Don't you think?"
"Purr, I know my man." Mitsuki purred sultrily.
Kuma decided to interrupt them with a cough. "While I appreciate that you two are still loving each other, I would prefer if your sex talk is elsewhere…" He deadpanned.
Masaru did blush in embarrassment while Mitsuki laughed uproariously.
Kuma was about to leave to continue with the show when two individuals walked toward him… well, one of them walked, and the other wheeled onto his seat.
"Oh, Tensei-kun and Rumi-chan! What can your dear host help you this time?" Kuma asked with a bright smile.
"Okay, first of all, don't call me 'Rumi-chan' ever." Rumi stated with a stare. "You might be friendly and all but I don't yet prefer my name like that."
Kuma shrugged, not even feeling alarmed. "Fair enough."
"Before I ask mine, I think Wheely has something to say." Rumi thumbed on Tensei who looked at her flatly.
"Wheely? Really?" Tensei asked flatly which earned him a bunny shrug. He sighed but looked at Kuma. "I don't know if I should ask this but… is there a possibility to recover my legs?"
Kuma looked at his damaged legs. "Well, I did return people from death and even returned Quirks. It's not so hard to return your legs to walk again. But, different from those, recovering from injuries is kind of different. So, I have the medical equipment for those." He clapped his hands and 2B returned with a slow bow. "2B, bring Tensei-kun to the infirmary. He is needed so heal him fast and nicely before the show."
2B bowed before taking control of Tensei's wheelchair by pushing forward as Tensei was tense and eager for his recovery.
"Now that he's gone…" Kuma motioned to the Rabbit Hero. "What is what you needed to ask?"
Rumi grinned in a feral manner, showing her fanged teeth. "I want to fight against you."
Ryuko groaned on the sidelines. "Of course, she asked him that…"
Kuma looked thoughtful for a moment before giving him her a look with a raised eyebrow. "Are you sure about that? Did you forget how I fought against Demo, right?"
"Fuck that!" Rumi spat challengingly. "While you gave us that training ground, watching you fight against that guy pumped my blood and I wanted to fight against you! So, let's see who is better! The bunny? Or the bear?"
Kuma hummed again in a thoughtful manner before a mischievous grin spread on his face. "Really? Are you really sure about that? Might as well give you some kind of advantage."
Rumi's eyes and mouth twitched with a sickening grin. "Oh? You think I'm weak to fight alone against you!"
Kuma shrugged as he raised his hand at Ryuko. "I mean, I could give you a little help by having Ryuko-san team up." He turned to the 7th OFA user, Nana, who blinked in surprise. "Or maybe her?"
"You think you can take against us easily in a fight?" Ryuko asked incredulously.
Kuma remained quiet while glancing at her as a sly grin – yet inwardly mischievous – spread more into his face.
Now Ryuko felt awkward and a little ticked off. "In a fight… right?"
Nana didn't know how to feel about that. While she was happy that she still got it, she couldn't think how a… individual like him saw her like that.
On the other hand, those that got the reference – most being Hizashi and Nemuri – chuckled at the expense of the joke their dear host just said. Those that didn't simply groaned or sighed in exasperation.
Ryuko blushed in embarrassment, not knowing how to feel like that. Rumi's eyes twitched angrily.
Before Rumi could beat the crap out of him – despite that he could tank it – Kuma sobered quickly. "But alright, alright, I'll take the challenge. Just for you to know, I'll put myself into your level so I won't obliterate you."
Subsiding her anger, Rumi huffed with slight anger as she crossed her arms and tapped her foot impatiently like a tick of her Quirk. "Fine!"
Ryuko sighed, half-hiding the fact that she had blushed. "Uff, at least she is going to get her fight…" She sighed in relief, a hand on her reddened cheek.
"I wish he flirted with me…" Ryuko – Pixie-Bob, to clarify – pouted enviously.
"Not now, Ryuko…" Shino groaned.
"I wouldn't have minded though." Tomoko chirped.
"You two…" Chatora sighed.
"PFAHAHAHA! He got you there, Seventh!" Daigoro cackled.
"Shut it, Banjo." Nana huffed. "I, at least, feel quite accomplished that I still got it."
"Uh… yeah." Toshinori muttered, covering with a cough and hiding the fact that he had a few times crushed on his mentor and mother figure in the past.
Mirai simply sighed and shook his head.
"In any case, I just thought that this chapter is going to be longer so be ready on your seats as I think…" Kuma glanced at his imaginary wristwatch. "The upgrade is finished. So, let's go, everyone."
Everyone was confused about what he meant and uttered in unison. "Upgrade?"
Inside the theater, the students were already waiting for their host and the heroes so that they could start. But what they didn't expect to happen was a short plump woman with green hair enter the place with Mt. Lady next to her.
"MOM!?" Izuku shouted incredulously.
"Aunty?" Katsuki was next.
"And we are here too!" That was when Mitsuki and Masaru made their intro.
"OLD HAG!?"
"WHO ARE YOU CALLING OLD HAG, BRAT!?" Mitsuki roared into his face, also giving him a slap on his head.
'I think we now know where he comes from…' Every member of Class A deadpanned while watching the Bakugos.
"A-Ah, sorry for my wife and son…" Masaru apologized kindly to the classmates who were also boggled at the thought that this nice man was Katsuki's father.
"Buir!?" Jango and Fordo exclaimed in confusion.
"Mom! What are you doing here!?" Izuku asked worriedly as he stood next to his mother.
"W-Well… the host, Kuma-san was it? He… brought us and the others here." Inko replied. "I… I really don't know how to feel about this."
"U-Um, we aren't so sure yet, Mom. But I assure you that he is a… fine host." Izuku said with a scratch on his cheek.
"Fine!? Dear Heavens, Izuku! I'm not that bad!" That was when Kuma and the rest of the heroes came in he gasped in a dramatic way. "I can assure you that I have given you the most satisfactory treatment like most of my kind should do."
"I-I-I am sorry if I offended you, Kuma-san!" Izuku apologized hastily.
Kuma snorted with a shake of his hand. "No worries. I would be also doubtful if my host was a… strange individual." He admitted and then shrugged. "But, in any case, I needed some time to upgrade this place and while you are at it, I think I have a little present for little Ingenium."
Tenya blinked in confusion as a few classmates glanced at him. "Me?"
Kuma smiled. "Yeah!" He then looked at the entrance. "You can come out now!"
Everyone was confused when the doors opened up and someone walked inside. The people gasped in surprise because the only person that they weren't with them came in walking.
"Heya, little brother." Tensei said with a smile as he was relieved that he had recovered his legs completely.
"B-Brother…?" Tenya gasped a choke before slowly making his way toward his now-healed brother. "H-How? W-When!?"
"Just now, little brother." Tensei smiled, patting his head and Tenya blushed since he just remembered that he was in front of everyone.
"B-Brother, please…"
Tensei stopped patting him and laughed. "My bad, my bad."
"While it is cute having both brothers rejoiced…" Kuma teased as Tenya blushed more while Tensei grinned while rubbing the back of his head. "We have a show to continue!"
As everyone began sitting in their seats, Mei, Higari, Melissa, and David noticed the change in the place.
"Hey, what's with these upgrades?" Higari asked, pointing at the huge drain holes at the corner of the theater.
"Well, I needed the place to be prepared for in case of a flood." Kuma stated with a shrug, confusing the spectators even more.
Clapping his hands loudly, Kuma began. "NOW! It begins the USJ arc!"
"Why does he call it arc?" Denki whispered in confusion.
Chapter 6: Against All Odds
"Trust in your friends, and they'll have reason to trust in you."
Katsuki sighed with his eyes closed. No matter how much he was… sorry, ugh, if he could turn back in time and smack the shit out of his old self, he would without hesitation.
He opened his eye when he felt a light elbow hit on his side as he glanced at Eijiro grinning at him.
"Don't worry, Bakubro. You got us."
The rest of the self-named Baku Squad didn't hesitate to join him.
'At least…' Katsuki huffed, rolling his eyes. '…they aren't so bad.'
Mitsuki and Masaru, who had noticed the little interaction, smiled, knowing that at least their son have trustworthy friends.
All Might honestly felt like utter trash, he'd started off this morning coughing up blood but still smiling brightly. He'd at first been unsure about joining UA to find a successor, the entire reasoning becoming mute once he found young Izuku.
Since then, he'd started waking up with an old forgotten feeling in his chest.
Excitement.
Actually looking forward to a new day.
Of course, being a hero was never boring in any sort of way, except for the paperwork, but somewhere along the line, he'd become stagnant. His actions as All Might were so encompassing in his life that he practically knew nothing else.
And so it became the same thing every day.
Of course, he loved his duty, and he loved seeing people smile, and he most certainly didn't want to appear ungrateful to his master's sacrifice.
But before he knew it, he'd become a robot.
Merely doing the same actions every day.
Or rather, for three hours every day.
A part of him wondered for how long had Yagi Toshinori and All Might become two entirely separate people.
A part of him wondered if it even started before his fateful fight almost six years ago.
And then he met Izuku and Jango.
Izuku had blushed when Toshinori's monotone lifestyle changed when he met him. Jango wouldn't admit but he had hidden his blush from others, and the only person who knew that was Fordo.
Toshinori chuckled at his successor's embarrassment. Not that he was disagreeing with his other self.
And he felt happy, he felt true joy! Helping the both of them understand some of the truths of being heroes, the old roots of community service, and helping people smile and be happy.
What it meant to truly be a hero.
He wondered if this is how Nana felt? When she met him?
Maybe even Gran? When he wasn't making him puke up breakfast, last night's dinner, and yesterday's lunch?
Nana laughed. "Well, finding a successor is a strange feeling!"
"Yes, master…" Toshinori blushed in embarrassment.
The other heroes watched how the former Number One hero blushed but gave him his moment with his old mentor.
Sorahiko snorted. "I hope you were grateful, brat."
All Might woke up today with excitement in his heart to see his protégé and be a part of his growth, and for the longest time, All Might smiled as Yagi Toshinori.
Now, however, Yagi Toshinori sat on a couch in the teacher's lounge with a cup of steaming tea in his hands, about to be lectured by Nezu over wasting his three hours before the school day even started.
Ah yes, Nezu.
Yagi knew admittedly, little of the workings of the chimera's inner mind. Not that he wanted to, but he was no fool, he understood perfectly how his recent position as a new teacher would help in Nezu's little games.
Sometimes he thinks even his old nemesis would shudder in fear had the principal become a villain instead of a hero.
He prefers not to let such thoughts arise.
The rest of the U.A. faculty hid their grimace or groan of exasperation. While they enjoyed teaching the next generation – Shouta would never let anyone else know – what they hated the most was those lectures that Nezu gives. While important, they would prefer finishing their paperwork rather than staying longer hours with their boss.
Nezu chuckled at the situation as he enjoyed how they squirmed during his lectures.
"I don't really know what would happen if Principal Nezu ever became a villain…" Tsuyu asked bluntly.
"We don't want to know!" Mina and Denki shivered fearfully while stealing quick glances at their principal.
"HAHAHA! Don't worry, kids. I would never imagine myself becoming a villain so do not worry about that!"
'Although you asked Kuma for world conquer even as a joke…' Most heroes deadpanned or sweatdropped while glancing at the Rat Boss.
"Thinking about your boys, Yagi?"
He grunted in surprise at the question, and slightly blushed but nodded.
"Among other things, sir," He murmured with a fond smile as his thoughts were returned to the two boys.
"Careful, All Might, or else rumors might spread if you keep smiling like that." Nezu chuckled as Yagi blushed even more and grumbled in indignation.
"Not you too, sir."
If there was one thing he would change, it would be Jango's penchant for unsavory jokes.
"YOUNG JANGO!" Toshinori yelled indignantly.
"Sorry, not sorry. You should have known how I am." Jango said with a shit-eating grin.
"Jango…" Inko warned him.
Jango winced, remembering now that buir was here. "Sorry, buir."
Everyone else chuckled at his expense.
"Sorry old friend, but I'm afraid young Jango is rubbing off on me." Nezu said with a grin as Yagi shuddered.
The day that Nezu met Jango was the best/worst day of his life.
A few months ago
Well, All Might was certainly having a good day, he'd just recently passed on his quirk to Izuku, and by now he should have finished digesting it.
Now if only he could get Jango to stop making the jokes about his character.
He watched proudly as he saw his successor cock back his fist, ready to be blown away just as he blew away Nana the first day that he used it.
He did not expect Izuku to stumble and fall onto the ground nor for Jango to retch and also stumble before half-crawling half-running towards Izuku.
All Might was quick to follow.
"WHAT HAPPENED!?"
"Blegh, the power, One For All, the di'kut (idiot) tried to shove all of it into his arm and release, the energy build-up was too much and woke up every single one of the Vod'e and they shouted at once in the mindscape." Jango said as he shuddered while All Might looked over Izuku and applied what first aid he could.
"The Vo-what?"
"The Vod'e (Brethren)…" Jango tried to explain but then shook his head, he'd save it for later. "…the brethren. All the clones are in the mindscape right now and they're probably panicking." Jango trembled in shock, he wasn't used to this, and while he was doing admirably well, All Might could see the sheer worry in his frame.
"Oh, a recap!" Mei said.
"So, does that mean that with the help of One For All the Legion woke up?" Denki asked.
"Apparently." Hanta shrugged.
"It would be like suddenly waking up out of a nightmare." Hitoshi mused.
"He needs medical attention, I can take him to UA, there's a doctor there who knows everything." All Might said while picking up Izuku's unconscious body.
Jango gulped and stared in apprehension, this would be the first time that he would ever leave Izuku alone, but he trusted All Might to help his Vod (Brother).
With a shaky nod, he disappeared.
All Might always felt wonder at the relationship the two held. If he didn't know the truth, the brotherhood they shared was simply unreal.
Rocketing into the sky with Izuku, within a few minutes he was barreling through UA's gates, opened of course, and speeding through the halls and surprising quite a few students.
Recovery Girl was not amused when she walked into her office to find Yagi huddled over a boy who was burning up with a fever with a sheepish grin.
"Now what?"
It would be later after she'd heard the explanation and treated the boy, that Nezu would then come by, tea in hand an interesting grin on his face.
"Oh, no…" Toshinori said in despair.
Jango laughed. "Oh, yes!"
"Such an interesting day, huh, Yagi?"
Said man was already in his shrunken form, hunched over and waiting, for his successor.
'Perhaps more than just a successor?' Nezu thought before a sudden voice made him spill his tea.
"Is he…"
"Not right now, Shoto…" Izuku groaned, expecting it.
"He'll be fine bui-All Might." Jango said tiredly from behind Nezu, he looked utterly exhausted and blearily looked around the room, looking down and seeing the creature below him, Jango had one thing to ask.
"Who's the plushie?"
All Might spat blood.
"Y-young Jango! That's principal Nezu!"
"Huh..."
All three of them stared at each other, All Might in shock, Jango in slowly growing realization and horror, and Nezu in amusement.
"Well then, this is certainly interesting."
"Not my finest moment…" Jango admitted with a shrug.
"When it was your finest moment, vod?" Izuku snarked, earning laughter from the others.
"Hey!"
Present Day
Since then, Nezu had taken a special interest in Jango, as one of the few recorded instances of sentient quirks.
But Nezu did not see Jango as a mere quirk no, he saw him, and potentially the rest of his brothers, as something else.
What that was, Yagi held only an inkling to, but even he had his theories. That Jango was more than meets the eye.
More than just a quirk.
He knew that while he'd been focusing on Izuku's training before school started, Nezu had spoken multiple times with Jango.
And recently, he'd started to learn Mando'a.
"Oh, good. I was wondering when my other self was going to learn that." Nezu mused eagerly.
"It is a good thing to learn something new, right?" Jango said.
"That it is."
Or rather, from just a few pages of notes and translations by Jango, Nezu had deconstructed and then helped reconstruct the language into something a bit more complex and official.
Yagi had his suspicions that Nezu would more than likely try and get the language officially recognized.
He chuckled at the thought.
"Now Yagi, we already know what I'm going to say, but it must be said, you must take care and manage your time wisely.
Over 20 incidents solved today but All Might, and a day's worth of teaching lost."
Yagi sighed before nodding, unfortunately, this was the hardest part of being a teacher, having to choose between the calls for help that he'd heeded habitually for the last few decades, or the calls of the young heroes in training, who needed help to become the heroes of tomorrow.
"Especially when the future of your successor is on the line." Nezu added.
And All Might felt worse.
"Yes... I know..." There wasn't much else he could say to that.
"Now, moving on to other matters, I believe we should discuss-"
Yagi grunted in pain, as his mind was suddenly assaulted.
He could feel it, coursing throughout his body, an inexplicable pain that made him choke.
FEAR.
ANGER.
HATRED.
SUFFERING.
One For All screamed.
Yagi Toshinori collapsed on the ground, blood spewing from his body, wondering if he was finally dying. Oddly enough, he wasn't afraid for himself, he'd completed his duty honorably, and had even avenged his master, even though the action had led to his current state.
He was worried for his successor, Izuku and Jango.
He didn't want them to live without him.
As he absentmindedly noticed Nezu calling for help, the other teachers soon arriving with Recovery Girl, the black in vision slowly consuming him...
He wondered.
When did All Might and Yagi Toshinori start becoming one again?
"Becoming one again?" Hizashi muttered in confusion. "What does that even mean?"
Most people were also confused and didn't know the answer.
Nezu was also frowning, trying to come up with the correct answer.
"Do you something, sir?" Toshinori asked as he even didn't know what it meant.
"Maybe… let's just continue watching."
The OFA vestiges watched silently at it, coming up with a theory.
Bakugo Katsuki was in one word pissed. Yesterday had been an absolute blow to his pride, Deku had not only beat him, he'd shot his ass.
And then! The principal scolded him over blowing the hell out of that building and almost killing Deku?
Since when did people even care?
What did it even matter if, in the end, he won?
That's the entire point of heroes after all.
"Wow, the kid has a problem." Rumi snorted derisively.
"What did you expect? The kid has been living up to false praises and in his high throne. So of course he wouldn't be able to see what was wrong with him." Ryuko said.
Enji grunted, inwardly agreeing with the kid… although now, he could see how unheroic it looked and it also meant how he had acted before. It seems that he talked with Toshinori when his son went to the Remedial Course.
"You need to see the better of things, Blasty." Kyoka snorted.
"I know that…" Katsuki growled.
'Progress…?' Izuku mused as Jango and Fordo gave Katsuki pointed looks.
Either way, today was even worse, not only did he fail to beat that misty bastard, but now he was even worse than useless after falling into the water and having to get saved onto a boat.
If All Might could see him now.
Now he was with the frog extra that had dared to insult him, and the midget extra that dared to cry in his presence like the whiny extra that he was, and what was with that costume?
He hated his father's career, but some things had bled in.
"Rude, Bakugo-chan." Tsuyu said.
"I thought it was efficient at the time…" Minoru cried.
"Well, there is time for you all to think about how to upgrade your costumes." Kuma stated. "Pro-Heroes included if you want."
Everyone contemplated that before continuing.
And that monstrosity wasn't even worth the insults that would come out of his mouth.
As he stared at the sparky extra that was next to him, however...
Well, at least one thing was good today.
"Hey, what are you-AH!"
ZAAAAAPPPP!
Later, after the four of them finally managed to make it to shore, Katsuki was finally dry enough to explode and really cause some damage.
"We need to get out of here! Back to the door!"
"Screw that! I'm going to kill some villains, if you extras want to run away then you might as well be useful and take numbnuts with you!"
Asui grimaced at the boy but nodded and drug Kaminari away, Mineta trailing behind.
At least, she tried to.
As they walked, they were suddenly surprised by finding the battlefield right in front of them, dozens of bodies littered the ground, many of them were groaning in pain, a few silent.
Many of them had round burns on their bodies.
The tougher ones had holes.
The group paused, and even Bakugo was surprised at the brutality, he recognized these marks.
"Whoa, nice shots, Fordo." Mina cheered.
"A little brutal…" Tenya grimaced, adjusting his glasses.
"They are villains, Tenya-kun." Kuma drawled. "They didn't care that you were kids. Their own importance was taking you out before you all graduated and getting prestige."
A few students shivered. The teachers representing their classes frowned at that thought.
Toshinori himself was shaking in anger. He knew that villains disregarded the lives of others. But even he knew that attacking innocent people is a line a few villains he encountered didn't cross. All For One would do it regardless without mercy.
"What happened here?"
"Look, Aizawa-sensei!" Asui pointed towards the man who was fighting off some villains, every now and then they'd catch a flash of blue and another body would fall to the ground.
"That must be Midoriya! He's sniping from up top!"
Bakugo growled at his mention but they were all distracted by a black portal arriving and the absolute windstorm that threw them all off their feet.
Asui was heavily disoriented from the blast, having knocked her head against the ground, shakily getting to her feet, she was completely unprepared for the hand man to come after her.
Nor for Midoriya to defend her.
"DON'T TOUCH HER! DETROIT SMASH!"
The wind attack blew everybody away even more, even she wasn't able to escape it and was sent flying away as well.
Before the darkness took her, the last thing she saw was Midoriya standing tall and the creature falling.
"It seems that I should thank you again for saving me, Midoriya-chan." Tsuyu said gratefully.
"O-Oh, there is nothing wrong, Asui-"
"Tsu."
"T-Tsu-chan!" Izuku said bashfully.
"…we have to work on that." Jango whispered to Fordo.
"He gets better." Fordo answered.
"What are you two talking about?" Izuku asked curiously.
"Nothing!" Both of them said in unison but Jango noticed Kyoka had heard it and shushed her. She raised an eyebrow but gave him an 'OK' sign.
Todoroki stood alone, as he always did. He needed nothing and he needed no one to prove his strength.
Regardless of what happened during the battle trials, he would still become the Number One Hero.
And he would do it all using only his mother's power.
So, when he finds himself surrounded by fire, fire that paled in comparison to his but still managed to piss him off.
He decided to freeze the entire zone.
What villains were with him were also completely frozen solid, and dearly afraid.
"Mm, apart from his dismissive attitude, the kid got power with his Quirk." Rumi pointed out.
"Well, training since he is Endevour's son, he would try to make their kids stronger." Moe said.
"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Ryuko muttered, eyeing the Shoto on the screen and the one who is sitting with his classmates. "They both look different."
"Something that we will discover if we keep watching." Tsunagu said.
"Mh." Shinya agreed.
"W-w-hat t-the h-hell is this?" One asked as Todoroki walked forward, his right side having traces of frost covering it, but he paid no mind.
"I'd rather not be forced to kill, but pretty soon frostbite is about to kick in, I can settle for amputation, however."
The man was shaking at the monster that was before him, this was a UA student?
"Now, tell me... what exactly is your plan here?"
Later after knocking all of them unconscious, Todoroki left the zone to see if he could find any other villains to eliminate.
Suddenly, from the center of the plaza, was an explosion of energy, a large pillar of green erupting from the center plaza, lighting coursing all around it.
Lightning that was familiar.
Todoroki narrowed his eyes.
'Midoriya.'
"Was I really that bad?" Shoto wondered aloud.
"Well, you were." Tsuyu answered bluntly.
"You kept ignoring us at the beginning of the class when we greeted you." Ochako said.
"I thought you needed some space and didn't intend to barge unannounced." Tenya added.
"Also, you would glare or stare without saying anything, so…" Izuku rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"Wow, and people said that I was unfriendly." Hitoshi drawled sarcastically.
Yaoyorozu, Hagakure, Kyoka, and Yuga had found themselves alone on the mountaintops. The latter had taken a very nasty fall against a cliffside and had tumbled down a good 15 ft before stopping. His armor, dented, cape ruined, and bloodied from the many cuts and bruises he had, he was honestly considering having his armor upgraded like Fordo recommended.
The worst part was that his belt was cracked, so he was completely useless.
Again.
'All that shiny armor won't do anything to help you Yuga.'
'Ah, but then the people shall not see my sparkle!'
It had become a recurring argument in their newfound friendship.
'Never again.'
Yuga was hoping to at least keep the cape, however.
Yuga grimaced. While having support equipment was useful, he knew that if a villain or someone was capable of destroying his belt, it would be useless.
Useless.
USELESS.
USELESS!
Yuga clenched his eyes shut, trying to forget what was wrong with him. He was okay. He wasn't going to hurt him. He was in a safe place and nobody like him would be able to know his exact location.
A hand was placed on his shoulder, surprising him completely. He looked at Fordo who gave him the reassuring squeeze on his shoulder as he also noticed many of his classmates looking at him in worry.
"Aoyama, are you alright?" Izuku asked worriedly.
"I-I…" Yuga's words choked on his neck.
"Do you need a moment, Yuga-kun?" Kuma asked and if Yuga noticed right, his eyes told him everything. He knew. But he wasn't worried or disgusted. He was mostly worried about how he was acting.
Oh, how he wished to be stronger despite his sparkly attitude.
"Mei, if you can later, could you make an upgraded version of his belt?"
"Yeah! I can! And with the new materials that this place has, it will be done in a jiffy!" Mei chided.
"Not without supervision, Hatsume." Higari warned her.
With the feeling of assurance and the thankfulness of having something better for his belt, Yuga sighed slowly. "Y-Yeah. I'm alright, mon ami."
He knew that… when he is strong enough, he would be able to confess.
And inside his heart, a little hopefulness bloomed with determination from the shackles of fear.
If he lived through this that is.
Groaning and trying to sit up, he winced at the sharp pain that went through his ribs.
The girls had quickly found him, however, and drug him to an alcove before they were assaulted by villains. Kyoka and Yaoyorozu worked together to defeat them, while Hagakure applied what little first aid she knew.
Kyoka and Yaoyorozu did not know each other. Having gone from barely interacting class to fighting back to back against a couple of dozen villains, quickly made them learn to trust each other.
As it was, Kyoka was seriously concerned about the lack of protection that both of them had. She'd been lucky and landed close to the ground, but she saw how Yuga with all of his armor ended up.
Yeah, definitely was gonna look into something.
Maybe Izuku could help? She'd at least like to keep her rocker style.
"You heard me, Midoriya." Kyoka grinned.
"I will work on something!" Izuku said as he began writing down his notes.
"As will I." Mei cackled.
"I'm worried about you." Momo said with a sweatdrop.
Kyoka gave her a flat look.
Definitely gonna talk with Momo about her costume though, because as it was, that leotard was not helping.
The cannon she made though was helpful.
"Is… not that bad, right?" Momo asked, now understanding.
"Oh yeah, definitely." Kyoka said.
"But do not worry about it, Momo-chan." Kuma grinned, rubbing his hands together. "As it is, while Izuku-kun and Mei-chan are the greatest minds… it is no slouch that I can give them an idea or dozens to have you all have better costumes."
Everyone was surprised by that but knowing him, he was being generous.
Kuma avoided their eyes as a frown formed on his face. 'As it is, they are going to need all the help.'
As she blasted another group of villains with her sound waves, she forced herself to ignore the screams they made and the blood that ran down their ears and noses.
But she didn't know how much longer she could last, exhaustion seeped into her bones and fatigue plagued her. She could feel the stress on her jacks and heart and every blast now caused her to wince as the vibrations traveled through her body.
Finally, the last villain was defeated, rendered unconscious by a cannonball to the torso.
Kyoka allowed herself to fall to her knees and rest.
She shouldn't have.
A hand grabbed the back of her neck and she felt electricity burn her while she screamed in agony.
"Oh, great…" Kyoka groaned, inwardly shivering. "That guy."
Shouta glared at the villain who held his student by her neck. While gratifying that the villain was behind bars, when he gets the chance to see him again… he won't be comfortable on his legs.
"Now that I have your attention, little heroes." The final, hidden villain said as Kyoka cursed for letting herself get taken hostage.
She should have heard him coming.
But she was so tired that she couldn't even resist his grip.
"Now girly, why don't you and the rest of your friends come out of that hidey-hole, don't want anybody to get hurt, right?" He said maliciously while Kyoka weakly struggled against him.
Yaoyorozu grimaced but was saved from having to do anything as Hagakure and Yuga walked out of the alcove, the latter leaning heavily on the girl and having torn up parts of his cape serve as bandages across his armorless chest.
"Now, this is what's going to happen-" The villain was cut off as everybody was startled by the eruption of energy coming from the main plaza, like living lightning it tore through the air vividly, almost as if it were alive.
'Izuku...' Kyoka thought before taking advantage of the opportunity and jamming a jack into the man's chest and blasting away.
"Nice quick thinking." Izuku said.
"You gave my version a chance so…" Kyoka shrugged.
The man screeched in pain as he let go but not before delivering a brutal shock to Kyoka that sent her flying towards her friends.
She was grabbed by Yaoyorozu and dragged back towards the other two, just barely keeping consciousness.
"YOU BRAT! I WAS PLANNING ON LETTING YOU GO AFTER A BIT OF FUN, BUT NOW I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU!" The man yelled as he started to charge up his attack.
Yaoyorozu tried to create something, but her body's stores had already been depleted, and she was exhausted.
Yuga started to charge an attack, ignoring the pain that was already setting into his stomach, weak blue sparks started to appear around his belt's cracked mirror, and he groaned as he tried to do something.
Hagakure could only hold onto them both, trembling, unable to do anything to help her classmates.
The man roared.
The four students tensed up, expecting something worse to happen. The other classmates watched uselessly how they couldn't do anything and even more, the Pro-Heroes were holding onto their seats.
Kuma remained calm in all of this.
A flash of blue.
The smell of burnt flesh filled their noses and they could only stare in shock.
He choked, a sort of weakened gasp only just barely escaping from his throat as the four stared at him.
They could see the other side of the mountain through his head.
A few sparks came out of his body as he twitched and fell over, his body landing with a harsh crash and a rattle came from his throat as he expired.
Everyone gaped at the sight. Nobody could have expected this, not even seasoned ones because they were simply kids learning to become heroes and they wouldn't have known of this until they reached their Third Year or so.
The few students grabbed their barf bags and released everything they ate inside.
Jango glanced at Fordo and he himself looked down, knowing how he acted with shame.
Kuma decided to take a bite of his melon bread without worry.
Yaoyorozu heaved, but nothing came out, Hagakure shakily fell to her knees before retching behind them, an odd scene of vomit coming out of thin air that would be amusing at any other time.
Kyoka could only stare before the day's events caught up to her and she finally passed out from adrenaline and exhaustion.
And Yuga could only stare, forcing himself to look away, he returned his vision to the pillar of energy that was still raised in the sky.
And the sounds of war that he could hear from oh-so-far away.
'Izuku... Jango... Fordo...'
"I'm sorry."
"Yep, accordingly reaction." Kyoka groaned.
"It is a traumatizing event, Jiro." Momo sighed.
"Does it really look like that?" Toru wondered.
Yuga closed his eyes, ignoring the inner demons calling out for him. He needed to be strong and watching this showed him that he wasn't ready yet.
Ojiro and Kirishima had found themselves fighting together and had actually proved themselves to be pretty good at working together even with the constant risk of the ground giving away under their feet in the landslide zone.
As Kirishima bashed his opponents with his hardened fists, Ojiro managed to use him as leverage to deliver brutal strikes against his opponents.
Such as now.
Kirishima head-butted a man that looked like a goat, and Ojiro leaped off his back before spinning and crashing down his tail on the man's head with all the force of a Beyblade.
Granted, a 180 lb Beyblade, but a Beyblade nonetheless.
"Would it be really that Ojiro's parents are-?"
"No, Shoto! No conspiracies!" Izuku shouted in total exasperation.
"Ugh, I won't ask what he meant by that." Mashirao sighed.
"You don't want to know." The Deku Squad groaned.
Shoto won't admit that he pouted. Enji decided to forget what he just heard.
"So, this time I am not with Bakubro." Eijiro said.
"I can take care of my own, Shitty Hair." Katsuki growled.
"Man, these villains are so unmanly, not only do they attack a school but they really suck."
Ah yes, and then there was Kirishima's manliness thing.
Ojiro honestly had no clue what the hell he was talking about, but considering how he was comparing himself to a Beyblade he had no room to say anything.
"We need to make it back, gotta make that mist man pay." Kirishima said while delivering a haymaker to some villain with a dog motif.
And no, it was not his quirk.
Ojiro shook his head before breaking another villain's arm when he tried to pin him, the man's shrieks soon being silenced by a tail to the head.
"We need to find the others and regroup, they may not be handling themselves as well as we are," Ojiro replied as the area around them was finally cleared of villains.
"Yeah, I guess you're right, I wonder how-" Kirishima's thoughts were interrupted as the both were startled by the pillar of green energy that exploded in the central plaza, from their angle they could see that it was just at the bottom of the stairs, but other than that, they couldn't see any details.
"We need to move, quickly!"
"Right!"
"I hope we get to reach them on time." Eijiro said worriedly.
"Yeah." Mashirao agreed.
Sero was having the time of his life actually, sure he was in mortal peril, but being in the ruins zone was the best thing that could have happened to him, all the buildings and high places allowed him to swing around, make traps, and use ambush attacks to defeat his enemies.
Sure, hit-and-run attacks might not be the most heroic thing, but since his life was on the line, there wasn't really much he could say.
As he led another group of stupid villains into an alley and plucked them off one by one, he did his best to keep himself out of sight.
At once all of the villains that were below him were distracted, and admittedly he was distracted too by the giant green pillar that just appeared out of nowhere.
Let it not be said, however, that Sero Hanta was not an opportunist.
Trying his best at imitating a move he'd seen Aizawa-sensei move as he tried to wrap a bunch of villains and then smash them into the ground.
He managed the first part, not the second.
He soon decided that discretion was the better part of valor, and simply noped the hell out of there.
He'd already exhausted a lot of options, and his tape would provide time, and he was running out. Already he could feel the effects of dehydration... yeah, he could really use a drink right now.
'I need back up, hopefully, I can get ahead far enough to warn the others in time to face off against these villains.' He thought as he swung down the ruins zone towards the main plaza.
"Best place to be but not the moment to expect…" Hanta sighed.
"At least you take the opportunity over there." Rikido said.
"Yeah, but had not been for that I would have been toast." Hanta said, rubbing his head.
Tokoyami and Koda did not expect to find themselves together inside the rain zone, Koda did not expect his new companion to utterly devastate the enemies that were in the downpour storm zone with them. His quirk Dark Shadow, proved itself to be a worthy adversary when inside the darkness of the zone as he grew to monstrous size, just barely within Tokoyami's control as the monster reveled in the destruction it caused and the pain it unleashed against the villains that dared to attack it.
Koda was more than thankful that his quirk was merely speaking with animals.
Neither of them noticed the pillar of light that pierced the skies, separated as they were from the rest of the USJ.
But Koda was worried.
Due to his quirk, he could not only understand animals, but understand their instincts as well, and could gain some insight from them.
So when the rats that he'd found suddenly cowered, crying out of great fear and rage and suffering that permeated the very essence of the building. Of hatred that filled their very being.
He could only hope that his classmates were alright.
That they'd all make it out alive.
"It seems that we are together in this version as well, Animal Whisperer." Fumikage said mysteriously.
"Y-Yeah…" Koda muttered quietly as he was also worried about what the animals felt in that version. 'What happened?'
Tenya felt horrible, unable to do anything as his friend was whisked away by the same mist villain that had sent away his classmates, his friends.
And he could only watch.
He prepared himself to barrel down the steps and help out his friend when Jango stopped him.
"No."
"But Jango-"
"But nothing, he gave you an order Tenya, but more than that he asked you as a friend." Jango said as he held onto Tenya's wrist.
"You're the only one that can make it to the teachers and get us the reinforcements we need. Thirteen is down, and the others are unaccounted for. We need back up. Izuku gave you that order because he believed in you, now ner vod (my friend)! GO!" He yelled as he motioned for Shoji and Sato to pry open the door.
With a great heave, they allowed enough room for Tenya to burst through and make his way towards the main campus.
"K'oyacyi (Come back safely)..." Jango whispered as he saw his friend leave.
"Ashido, can you melt the doors?"
"I might be able to, but the acid that I need will burn me too." She said as she started to fling acid at the doors. Jango noticed her trembling and gave her a nod and a comforting pat on the shoulder.
"Maybe we could make a small tank or grenades that can hold different types of acid so you don't have to produce when you need it." Izuku mused, scribbling down his ideas.
"Oh, that is quite nice thinking, Midoriya!" Mina totally agreed with that.
"It could also be possible for Midnight-sensei." Izuku continued muttering which now the Pro-Heroes heard him.
Nemuri thought for a moment before groaning and face-palming. "Power Loader."
"Already on it." Higari said, writing down a blueprint.
"Do your best."
Turning towards Ochako, who was tearfully holding on to Thirteen, Jango hugged her lightly before telling her to do her best to keep Thirteen alive and that they'd all get out of there soon.
"Where are you going?"
"To help out my vod (brother)."
"Ok, good luck."
Jango nodded and Fordo rose to help him, but he shook his head.
"No Fordo, keep an eye on the other zones, see if you can see anybody that sees help..." Jango paused, as he considered everything that happened. Earlier, they'd been forced to stand by and hear Izuku get taken away by the enemy.
Already they'd been forced to do some serious damage to the villains, some of the tougher ones being too strong for the lower levels, having holes put into them instead.
Those shots, however, they made nonlethal.
They were caught off guard by another explosion of wind from below, and they both stared at the plaza through their scopes.
"Haar'chak (Damn it)! That thing just took 100% and it did nothing. We've got no choice, aim for the head full power! On three, one, two, three!"
Both shots fired at the same time, practically becoming one, and with a snap it bored through the beast's head, leaving a smoking hole as it collapsed.
"That wasted my battery, all I have is my pistols." Jango said as he tried to ignore what he'd just done.
"I've got one shot left, after that it's my pistols too." Fordo said while gulping heavily, they couldn't see each other past the helmets, but they didn't need to.
"We didn't expect that demagolka to survive…" Jango growled, tapping his biceps with all his fingers.
Everyone didn't know what demagolka meant but from what they saw, they assumed it was meant by 'monster' or something similar.
"It was preferable to kill them." Kuma shrugged, noticing everyone looking at him. "The Nomus are made out of dead bodies so for an idea, it is best to leave the dead to die peacefully. Also, think of it like One For All, each Quirk has their personalities inside which makes them an abomination with multiple people inside."
Everyone gaped at that. Fortunately, Eri and Kota had their ears covered. Unfortunately, Inko, Mitsuki, and Masaru who are only civilians could only feel squeamish at the thought of that.
"Is… is there no other option?" Izuku asked.
Kuma sighed, shaking his head. "Well, there are a few ideas but not yet been tested. We'll speak of this in the future." He said with finality in his tone. Everyone reluctantly dropped down and continued watching the show.
Fordo then looked back through the scope and gasped in shock.
"I don't believe it, that thing's getting back up!"
"That's impossible, nothing should have that level of regeneration, especially not from a head wound like that! To the brain even more so!"
"That thing's not human, I don't know what it is, but it's not human."
Jango rose to his feet and grabbed his pistols, cracking his neck he relayed orders to Fordo.
"Make sure they get out of here, see if you can find the others with your rifle, I'm heading down there."
"K'oyacyi, vod (Stay alive, brother)." Fordo murmured as he looked through the scope at the other zones.
"Ib'tuur jatne tuur ash'ad kyr'amur (Today is a good day for someone else to die)." Jango replied as he targeted the creature once more and shot his rocket before launching himself down with his jet pack.
"Why does that feel like a bad foreshadowing…?" Itsuka asked, worried as everyone else.
"We will see it." Kuma intoned. The teachers of the U.A. were now looking more worried than ever.
Fordo snorted, but then turned his scope, trusting his elder brother. Deciding to look at the zones furthest away, he noticed that the conflagration zone was completely iced over.
'Huh, interesting. That Todoroki kid sure knows how to make a presence.'
Turning then towards the mountain zone, his blood chilled as he saw Yaoyorozu, Kyoka, and Yuga against a villain with the second in his hand.
'Haar'chak (Damn it), this is bad. I can't get a good hit on him.' Fordo thought with slight panic as he tried to see if he could get a better angle.
'Oh, Hagakure's there too, wonderful, another person to worry about.'
"I feel myself like an afterthought." Toru muttered half-joking.
"My apologies." Fordo said.
Then an explosion from below the stairs, someone screaming, and a pillar of energy erupted over the bottom of the stairs, right where the fighting was.
Fordo couldn't see what in the world was happening. But he had different priorities right now, he had to trust his vod (brother) to take care of the situation.
Looking through the scope once more, he saw that Kyoka had taken advantage of the distraction and was now away from the villain, albeit probably highly injured.
He noticed that the villain was charging up an electrical attack and that the group was well away from him, and wondered if he was the reason that communications were down.
Either way, he took the shot.
He realized too late that the rifle was still set to full power.
The shot sped out the barrel and traveled quickly, and Fordo saw as it spanned hundreds of meters in seconds.
He saw the hole appear in his head.
He saw the man stumble, before falling.
He saw it all.
Everyone didn't know how to react to that. The Pro-Heroes knew how Fordo was feeling. There were times that they forget to diminish their strength and use their full strength on villains, ending up either injured beyond reparation… or dead.
Yuga looked at Fordo, watching how the clone looked so ashamed for a rookie mistake.
Jango was afraid, not for himself, okay, yes for himself, but mostly for his vod (brother), his friends, his classmates.
His ever-growing family.
But he could not, would not, call himself a hero if he could not stand in front of this villain and defend his brother and teacher.
Defend all of them.
"Copaani gaan, vod (Need a hand, brother)?" He asked Izuku without turning, but it seemed that Izuku could barely hear him.
"Good luck, vod (brother)." He heard Izuku whisper, and gulping in apprehension, he nodded while facing the creature in front of him.
"Alright shabuir (jerk), prepare to get both your shebs (ass) kicked to kingdom come!" Jango cried out as he fired his pistols in rapid succession, all of his shots aiming for the head.
He could only hope that Tenya would come back in time.
"I will…" Tenya closed his eyes in prayer for his other self to reach on time.
Tenya barreled through the roads of the UA campus, pushing himself to go faster than he'd ever had before.
His classmates' lives were in his hands.
Already he could feel the harsh burn of his pipes as he was pushing Engine to its utter limit. The metal becoming red hot and the edges of his vision blackening.
"No!" Gritting his teeth and growled as he pushed himself further, the main campus already within sight.
Busting through the doors (and wouldn't Tensei be shocked at his lack of decorum?), Tenya blasted through the halls between passing students with the speed of the bullet and the force of a rampaging bull.
Not seeing any teachers, he went directly for the teacher's lounge.
His engines sputtered and smoked and he almost tripped from the sudden fault.
"NO! BURST!"
His legs exploded in pain as he crashed through the doors of the teacher's lounge, half unconscious from the fatigue and stress he'd built, he absentmindedly noticed the teachers there with a skinny man that looked to be recovering from some fit and unconscious on the couch.
He couldn't hear their exclamations nor demands for an explanation, just an odd ringing sound in his ears.
Funny, he wondered what that meant.
He could only muster enough strength for two words.
"Villains... USJ." He muttered before finally passing out.
Tensei gritted his teeth. "I'm not worried about your lack of decorum, you idiot brother." He muttered tearfully.
"He could have ended his career before it even started." Yu said sadly.
"That's not something I was expecting to watch. He's going to be a great hero, Ingenium." Shinnosuke added.
"That he is." Shinji agreed with a nod.
The Deku Squad looked at Tenya worried as he himself sigh in relief to have reached the teachers in time at the expense of his legs. He needed to think to have a way to have his engine pipes cool down quicker.
Yamada Hizashi was an outgoing man, he sometimes wore his heart on his sleeve, and could admit that he could sometimes be prone to panic. Fortunately, his friendship with Shouta and more than a decade's experience had tempered himself... somewhat.
That still didn't mean that he was prepared for the principal to call for an emergency meeting in the lounge, nor to see All Might, in his skinny form, and wasn't that a surprise to see all that time ago, convulsing and coughing blood.
Nor were he and the other teachers prepared for one of Shota's students to break down the door with his body and collapse on the ground, the engines on his legs ruptured and smoking like a car fire.
He almost, almost screamed in surprise.
The boy didn't seem to be all there and looked delirious, which made sense because if he wasn't mistaken, Shouta's class was supposed to be at the USJ right now and that was a good 30 minutes away by bus.
Yeah, this kid just ran that.
'Tensei would be proud.' Hizashi mused before the boy's last words sent a spike of fear through his heart.
"Villains... USJ..."
The lounge froze before Nezu quickly had them rally together and head back to the USJ, All Might left behind with Recovery Girl who promised to get there as soon as possible once she deemed him stable.
All together it took them two minutes to put the entire campus on lockdown and get outside to one of Power Loader's custom transports which they used to get everybody there as fast as they could.
It then took them 10 entire minutes to get to the USJ.
"Alright everyone, be prepared to face villains, and remember, retrieving the students is our top priority!" Nezu said, having already called reinforcements.
Right before they could even enter, however, the doors exploded.
With that, the screen shut down, terminating the chapter.
"Before everyone here screams to continue, I told you that I will show you everything the USJ has happened! Just that this had an extra story that people might appreciate to see before that."
The screen returned as a new show started.
OMAKE: A Commanding Quirk
Izuku and his male classmates were currently changing in the locker room after class when they suddenly heard a lustful giggle.
Turning, they found Mineta beckoning at them to see through a hole that was in the wall.
Izuku froze.
Mineta then commented about the various parts he wanted to see, commenting on every girl except Jiro while the guys were scolding him.
Iida in particular was the most vocal.
Every teacher glared at Minoru for not acting accordingly with respect for the opposite sex. Kyoka grumbled. Denki felt offended since Kyoka was a nice girl to know. Momo noticed Denki's reaction and nodded. Minoru looked so ashamed right now.
Just before he could look through the hole, and be summarily attacked by Jiro's jack, Mineta jumped as a loud voice suddenly erupted from behind him.
"WHAT THE #$! DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!?" Izuku yelled as he suddenly changed in demeanor.
Everyone jumped at such a loud and harsh voice coming out of Izuku.
"Vod?" Jango was mostly surprised and confused.
"Was that… Deku-kun?" Ochako asked, confused but wary.
Clothes too for that matter.
As a matter of fact, everything changed around them.
The locker room became a large room that was filled with double-decker beds with metal frames, odd posters appeared in English with men and ships.
Mineta suffered a change into a camouflaged uniform while Izuku...
Was in a tan uniform, with a white cover on his head, and a red rope on his shoulder.
A chief's cover.
An RDC aiguillette.
"…what?" was the most question they asked, dumbfounded.
"Why does this look right like a military place?" Hanta wondered aloud.
"Quirk bullshit." Kuma intoned flatly.
"YOU THINK YOU CAN GO ABOUT HARASSING WOMEN ON MY WATCH, RECRUIT!?"
"N-no Chief!"
"WELL, YOU CERTAINLY WON'T BE DOING IT AGAIN! HYDRATE!"
Mineta shakily did so.
"8-COUNTS! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 8!"
"One, Chief!" Mineta said as he lost control of his body and started to do the exercise.
This went on for quite a while actually.
"-7, 8!"
"T-t-twelve, Chief..." Mineta muttered, already in pain.
"WHAT'S THIS? ARE YOU QUITTING NOW? YOU CERTAINLY WEREN'T ABOUT TO QUIT EARLIER WITH THAT HOLE WEREN'T YOU! I CAN BARELY HEAR YOU! BUT DON'T WORRY, IF YOU NEED SOME MOTIVATION, WE'LL JUST START AGAIN! HOOYAH, ZERO!"
"W-what!?"
"HOOYAH, ZERO!"
"Hooyah, zero!" Mineta sobbed as he continued doing his exercises.
"I feel sorry for the guy." Yosetsu said with a grimace.
"We're not." Most girls said in unison.
Izuku then turned to the other boys.
"THAT LOOKS LIKE FUN, DOESN'T IT RECRUITS!"
"NO, CHIEF!" They all shuddered, Izuku became a completely different person whenever he had the red rope on.
"I THINK IT IS, SO WHY DON'T YOU JOIN HIM HYDRATE! 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8!"
"ONE CHIEF!" They all yelled as their bodies also lost control and they were placed in uniform.
"Why are we even getting beat? We didn't do anything!" Kaminari grumbled as he went through the exercises.
"Cause Chief said so." Kirishima said with a grin, he was one of the few that actually liked getting beat, it was why whenever Chief came out, he always ignored Kirishima.
Katsuki was just pissed.
The girls were very happy, however.
And Mineta learned his lesson.
At least for a time.
"Come on, Me! Just learn!" Minoru groaned in defeat as everyone else laughed.
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8!"
"20, CHIEF!"
Midoriya Izuku. Quirk: Chief. Becomes a US Navy Chief with the power to change his surroundings fitting the situation. Beware the red rope version.
"I STILL CAN'T HEAR YOU! HOOYAH, ZERO!"
"HOOYAH, ZERO!"
And with that, the screen shut again.
"I would like to have someone with that kind of Quirk." Shouta said sadistically after a minute.
Class A paled at the thought of that.
"NO, SENSEI!"
Kuma snickered before clapping his hands so that the next chapter can start.
