The Doctor desperately seeks a peaceful solution, hoping to find a link to the Enemy, searching from the Celesties fortress in Mictlan to the Ancient Libraries of the Old Times in Pangaea. War may be the only outcome as the Doctor races to Dronid, with the Time Lord War TARDIS fleet under his command, hoping to avert the War.

After both incidents the Doctor assess the behaviour of the human race...and the growing darkness in his soul.

River Song, in turn, is not remotely certain about what to do when she realises that she's smitten for only the second time in her whole life. Which is ridiculous, at her age, frankly. A short poem that I wrote in the throes of pain that the season 9 finale left me in.

"Say you'll remember me even when I'm gone." The words burn in her chest and threaten to crawl their way up her throat. Stubbornly, she bites her tongue and keeps her mouth shut. There's no point in asking for miracles.

There is a Clara who kisses him when they first meet and a Clara who locks her front door when he rings. There is a Clara who lives and dies for him like clockwork, always with the same last words on her lips. He does not remember them.

There was a second part to that sentence, he reminded himself. Just thinking about it caused havoc to his new body. Sweaty palms, heavy eyes, dry mouth, and some sort of ache between his head, chest, and stomach. Were human bodies always this catastrophic?
